This week my husband surprised me with a surprise water view getaway on Grande Isle in Vermont. Janet & Troy Wert were our superb hosts at their Ferry Watch Inn on park-like garden setting facing Lake Champlain. Our spacious BR with private bath overlooked the western grounds where flowerbeds, architectural elements, shade trees, birds and the Lake competed for Most Charming View. We watched a particularly spectacular sunset from our Adirondack chairs while listening to the water lapping at the shore and timing the ferries (every 12 minutes.) Fine dining was readily available nearby, and dine we did with Troy's recommendations. Janet's breakfast menu offered many delicious choices including farm fresh raspberries. We recommend her spicy peppered omelette -- but her French toast is great, too. We appreciated the peaceful and private setting, quiet room, nighttime breezes. Janet and Troy have attended to every detail and anticipated every guest's needs. Ferry Watch Inn is a treasure. Relax & enjoy!

My wife and I were absolutely inspired by the extraordinary views of Lake Champlain and the High peaks of the Adirondacks. The Inn itself is on beautifully cared for land and the accomodations are immaculate and comfortable. Add to all this the congeniality of the Inn Keepers Troy and Janet and one could not ask for a better place to rest and recreate anywhere!
