What started out to be a vacation to include the Island AND Burlington ended up being just an Island vacation! Troy and Janet couldn't have been nicer hosts - their home is meticulous, the views our awe-inspiring and the breakfasts couldn't have been tastier! Their suggestion for dinner at the North Hero Inn and Restaurant was perfect and we ended up eating dinner two nights there instead of one. We are already planning our next summer vacation at the Ferry Watch Inn for next summer and hoping to bring our friends. We highly recommend this B&B to anyone who is looking for a perfect getaway and some excellent biking!

Where to begin, okay I'll start with the drive up to Grand Isle, picturesque. Once you exit off of I-89 the landscape changes the further north you go, mile by mile you start to anticipate that something very nice is awaiting your arrival. Grand Isle did not disappoint in any way, shape or form. Driving into the entrance of the Inn, you get glimpses of some mighty nice water views. The grounds are beautiful, flower beds, small pond with waterfall, barn and other outbuildings only add to your anticipation of what is in store once you step inside the front door. There aren't many words to describe the 'eye candy' of a lovely decorating scheme, with nice touches everywhere you look. You are welcomed by Janet and Troy who make you feel at home immediately. Our chats with the owners over our two and half day stay were funny, thoughtful and comfortable. Our room with private bath, just as the rest of the Inn is immaculate and I must add that all of the accommodations have beautiful views of Lake Champlain . The bed provided an easy sleeping night for two people who suffer with back issues. The country breakfast on both mornings-delicious. One can stay on the grounds to enjoy the scenery up to and including the crossing of the nearby ferries which goes back and forth from Grand Isle to Plattsburgh, NY, or the loons diving for fish, or the sailboats tacking back and forth on Lake Champlain and be very satisfied, but we chose to wander around the quaint little towns. The innkeepers recommended a handful of good places to dine in the area. We chose two fine dining restaurants that served great food. If you need time away from your daily grind we highly recommend the Ferry Watch Inn. Please send our best to Janet and Troy. Trust me, you will not be disappointed for choosing this particular Inn or location.

This week my husband surprised me with a surprise water view getaway on Grande Isle in Vermont. Janet & Troy Wert were our superb hosts at their Ferry Watch Inn on park-like garden setting facing Lake Champlain. Our spacious BR with private bath overlooked the western grounds where flowerbeds, architectural elements, shade trees, birds and the Lake competed for Most Charming View. We watched a particularly spectacular sunset from our Adirondack chairs while listening to the water lapping at the shore and timing the ferries (every 12 minutes.) Fine dining was readily available nearby, and dine we did with Troy's recommendations. Janet's breakfast menu offered many delicious choices including farm fresh raspberries. We recommend her spicy peppered omelette -- but her French toast is great, too. We appreciated the peaceful and private setting, quiet room, nighttime breezes. Janet and Troy have attended to every detail and anticipated every guest's needs. Ferry Watch Inn is a treasure. Relax & enjoy!

My wife and I stayed here for 3 wonderful days in a place with outstanding hospitality, cleanliness, gorgeous views to and across lake Champlain. The inn-keepers Janet and Troy are extremely nice and friendly and cook a delicious breakfast. We'll definitely go there back again.

My wife and I were absolutely inspired by the extraordinary views of Lake Champlain and the High peaks of the Adirondacks. The Inn itself is on beautifully cared for land and the accomodations are immaculate and comfortable. Add to all this the congeniality of the Inn Keepers Troy and Janet and one could not ask for a better place to rest and recreate anywhere!
