Chester native "returned". Worked in this Inn as a High school senior 1950-51. This massive three story structure looks and feels like something that is the center of Chester town. The breakfast is extra great. Not only excellent choice with variety each day but also a chance to chat with other guest from "all-over". Take a drive to Chester Depot and see Flamstead Mountain loaming over the town and Stone Houses on "North Street". Stan Hunsdon

We had a tough time finding rooms in the area that would take us for 1 night only during the Foliage season. The rooms were small but clean. The included breakfast was so-so. The people were very nice that worked at the Inn.

We spent a Valentine's evening at the Fullerton. We discovered the inn while cruising the Chester area during the Summer. For the past several years, our tradition was to celebrate V-Day at the Tavern in Windham just down the road a piece, but thought to "mix it up" this year. The Fullerton, while not nearly as elegant as the Tavern, was simple in its charm and unpretentious in a good way. The location on the on the Green (or Common?) was typically New England and picturesque. The Inn itself was decorated in New England fashion, not overdone or too puritan. The fireplace in the Main Room was beautiful, BUT, with the glaring lights, the area had all the ambiance of a police interrogation, rather than a spot to pitch woo. We moved to the bar area, which has its own fireplace and romantically dimmed lighting. It was quiet until a couple of NASCAR fans arrived, turned on the flat screen (there are no televisions in the rooms) and started pounding Buds. No pitching woo there either. It was time to return to our room. Dining was fairly priced and presentation thoughtful. Staff was attentive, but not intrusive. The wine list was pretty good and had some good values. Being close to many activities, skiing and snowshoeing in particular, make it a good base. We may return, but will try some of the other inns/B&Bs in the area.
