Situated in picturesque Castleton and convenient to Central Vermont ski areas, the elegant Applewood Manor Bed & Breakfast offers comfortable accommodation, warm hospitality, and rich history dating back to the 1780's. Original brick and marble fireplaces grace the public rooms, and the screened porch provides a delightful place to relax. Each of the five guest bedrooms has a private bathroom, deluxe mattresses, and beautifully-appointed furnishings. Delicious breakfasts are served in the charming dining-room. The 33-acre property offers a swimming pool, woodland walks, and a river for trout-fishing. The area presents spectacular scenery, a wealth of activities including hiking, fishing, golfing, skiing, snowmobiling, fabulous shopping, and unique historical places of interest.
Hannah’ room is bright and beautiful offering a blend of comfort and luxury. A romantic and restful night is promised by the King canopy bed with pillow-top mattress and comfy bedding. A wing-back chair and recliner provide a peaceful sitting area. A rollaway bed is available for this room. Hannah’s room has a brightly-decorated, spacious, en suite bathroom.
Overlooking the yard and front of the manor, Noah’s Room is rich and spacious. The majestic four-poster Queen bed with pillow top mattress promises a restoring night’s sleep. Relax in one of the comfortable sitting chairs; put your feet up, read a book or magazine. A rollaway bed is available for Noah’s room. The en suite bathroom is quite special with oriental wallpaper, large corner shower, and double sinks with marble vanity top.
This former parlor has been elegantly transformed into a lovely first floor bedroom. The décor is charming with beautiful wallpaper, a stylish queen bed and an antique walnut/maple dressing table. The duvet is really light and cozy. The compact en suite bathroom is attractively decorated and provides a spacious tiled shower.
Delia’s room is in the 18th century part of the house and has twin beds that can be easily bound together to form a king bed. Pillow-top mattresses provide soft and luxurious comfort for a peaceful night’s sleep. An elegant vanity stands in the corner of the bedroom, and the adjoining toilet/shower room, although small, is bright and appealing.
For the budget-conscious traveler, Suzanne’s room is our smallest room with a full/double bed. It’s comfortable and pleasantly decorated. Because the bathroom is next door to the bedroom, cushy bathrobes are provided. The private bathroom is quite charming with oriental wallpaper and, because of the sloping eaves, a hand-held shower.

“A lovely graduation trip!” 5 of 5 starsReviewed May 29, 2013 Nancy and her husband (the chef) made our family stay for our daughter's college graduation such a pleasure. We even entertained my daughter's boyfriend's family on the lovely back porch with lilacs in bloom and were sheltered from the rain that poured outside our cozy tea and cookies look out! Beds comfy and parlor and breakfasts yummy. Go visit and you will not be disappointed! Nancy and Ralph are wonderful hosts. The house is beautiful, very clean and comfortable. It feels like a second home. The beds are magnificent--soft and plush. Don't leave until you've had the incredible breakfast!! We can't wait to return. We walked up killington and investigated the beautiful fall scenery in the area. Diane&Chris

My wife and I stayed at the Applewood for two days in September. The room was clean, comfortable and nicely furnished. Nancy and Ralph were excellent hosts, and the breakfasts were top notch.

We stayed at Applewood over Labor Day weekend 2013 at the recommendation of friends and could not have asked for a more lovely B&B. Nancy and Ralph are most gracious hosts who make you feel instantly welcome. Their attention to detail is evident while touring the house as well as walking through their vegetable garden and manicured property. The interior is filled with beautiful antiques and each room is decorated with thoughtful period pieces. "Hannah's Room" was very comfortable and made me dream of life in the 1700's. We can't wait to return this winter during maple syrup season! Thank you for a wonderful visit... Carmelo and Marilyn
