We can't wait to return! We stayed in Room 1 and greatly enjoyed every aspect of our visit. The innkeeper greeted us with a very warm reception and check-in was very fast and easy. Our room was beautiful, spacious, and very clean. The bed and couch were extremely comfortable and the master bath was luxurious, very well designed and fitted with a large jacuzzi bathtub that made our stay particularly relaxing. Our breakfast in the morning was exceptionally good and the dining room was delightful, full of natural light and charming decor. The inn was quiet, set back far enough from the road so as not to hear the traffic, and in an excellent location, very near to the city center and a charming antique shop, located just across the road. We look forward to staying here in the future and recommend it highly to others, particularly couples on romantic get-away.

We stayed at the Four Chimneys Inn Thursday and Friday of Thanksgiving 2013. We're from the seacoast in New Hampshire and the 3 hour drive was a pleasure, especially the last hour's worth in Vermont where scenic mountain vistas dominated the 2500 foot ascent into the Bennington area. The Innkeepers were immediately receptive, attentive, and willing to listen to our rambling even with the bustle of a Thanksgiving melee - first and foremost this inn is about the professionalism of its owners. That aside - we stayed in Room #1, and it did not disappoint. A southern 7 window wide bay with a couch meant as sunny a private nook as they come, and a spacious, hospital clean private path with tiled everything and a jacuzzi tub was just the ticket for some serious post Thanksgiving turkey coma. My wife and I are both computer programmers and hadn't taken any time off to 'reboot' in over 18 months. I cannot overstate what a great choice Four Chimneys Inn was to clear the cobwebs out of our brains. Added bonus: We're fairly avid antiquers, and didn't know a three story antique shop was literally the next door up and across the street from the Inn (Camelot Antiques). We spent a solid 2 hours in there, bustling around before we finished the first loop. Aside from a delightful Thanksgiving dinner, provided by local Pangea Catering, the morning Breakfasts were not the usual afterthought many B&Bs afford. I'm an oaf of a guy and I struggled to finish the large portions of homemade hash browns, bacon, sausages, pancakes, and fresh fruit and coffee. A sprig of rosemary on the plate was metaphorical tip of the hat a place as classy as this one hides in every detail. We will be back before this decade is done.

My husband has been very reluctant to go to a bed and breakfast, finally he agreed to try one. We chose Four Chimneys Inn because we wanted something close to NYS. What an experience for our first time - my husband is already checking the calendar to see when we can return. The setting of this inn is like walking into a Norman Rockwell neighborhood. You are surrounded by beautiful homes, covered bridges and the heart of the town. We were impressed that we didn't hear a peep from any of the rooms and it was full when were there. The room was exactly as it appeared on-line. The food was delicious and plentiful. We were encouraged not to rush to check out. The atmosphere is pure relaxation. We will definitely return.

The grounds and building are beautiful and our room was spectacular. We were warmly greeted by a lovley innkeeper and had a great experience right on through to our departure. We visited at a busy time of year (October), so we only got to see a few of the rooms (besides our own). All were quite charming, clean and well maintained. In addition to a very good breakfast both days, we had a wonderful dinner where the lamb was cooked to perfection. We highly recommend and will return.

My wife and I are experienced international travelers who have both lived in and visited a fair amount of countries and stayed in a wide array of excellent lodgings. I only mention that to put into context for you just how satisfied we were with our stay at the Four Chimney’s Inn. We think back on the places we have stayed at, the sights we have seen, the service we have enjoyed…and our stays in the care of Lynn and the wonderful environment she has created are just of a different category. The atmosphere, the warmth, the peacefulness and overall warm energy we felt were just unparalleled. Yes, we expected to relax in a Vermont Bed and Breakfast. Yes, we expected to be treated well. Yes, we expected to leave our cares at the door, etc. Like I said in the title of this review, every expectation was exceeded. If you are looking for that quintessential B&B experience, you will find it here and then some. We cannot recommend the Four Chimney’s highly enough.

This inn is beautiful and charming. Or room was beautifully decorated in soothing blue tones. (I even asked the innkeeper for the color which she graciously provided for me.) Original hardwood floors and mahogany four poster bed and a bank of windows that let in afternoon light. The bed was very comfortable and the room clean. We decided not to go out and ate dinner at the restaurant and are very happy we did. The duck was excellent and the vegan dish outstanding. We will definitely return to this gem of an inn.
