Alexandra B&B Inn

As a sales representative, getting a good nights sleep on the road is sometimes hard to come by. This safe, comfortable, clean, welcoming, cozy bed & breakfast is AMAZING. I have been staying here once a week for more than a year and highly recommend it! Now if I could just figure out what kind of coffee they serve! Delish!

My husband and I had an excellent stay here. Everything was absolutely fabulous!! Our hosts Danny and his wife Claudia treated us as family. Much pride is taken here and they make you feel so welcome. They paid such attention to detail and even surprised us with a special gift for our anniversary. We enjoyed the dinner one night and all we can say is DELICIOUS!! The breakfast was superb, rooms were spotless and clean, and the other guests were friendly. Our hosts were very willing to give us ideas of places to visit during our stay. Bennington is great place to visit and the Alexandra Inn is a definite place to stay. We will definitely be visiting again next year and the year after that and so on... Keep up the good Danny (one of the nicest innkeepers that you will ever meet). Bed and Breakfasts are a dime a dozen, but one stands out: Alexandria Inn in Bennington, Vermont. The drive from Chicago was 15 hours and we were beat from the drive as well as hungry. All other places in Bennington would not let us check in until the typical 3 p.m. even while I offered to pay extra. My girlfriend pointed at Alexandria and said, "Turn here, this is the place." Her hunch launched more than a comfortable place to kick back and relax. Dan, the Inn master has a heart of gold and mind for putting guests first. He allowed us not only to check in immediately, but brought out afternoon iced tea and scones. He gave us maps and suggestions for meals, shops, and sightseeing. The Inn is confidently located five minutes from everything in Bennington, literally. Alexandria offers everything, reasonable rates, homemade meals, beautiful garden, wifi, mountain scenery, and of course a full bar with complementary soda. I would rate Alexandria an overall excellent and I hope you will enjoy your stay with Dan and his wonderful staff. They will go above and beyond for your vacation, business trip, or simply a romantic escape.

Arriving in Bennington on business and having driven 15 hours straight through, we were anxious to check in somewhere. Every where we stopped we were told that we could not check in before 3p.m. Being only noon, it was frustrating for us for we were eager to start our day. While driving around we stumbled upon Alexandra Inn B&B and were instantly impressed by the beautiful landscaping including a gazebo, pond, and arch way. As we stepped inside we were greeted by Daniel who understood our car lag and was quick to show us what rooms he had available. The rooms were gorgeous! They were very romantic, spacious, and beautifully decorated. On top of that we were able to check in immediately. Hot breakfast was served each morning and fresh scones and ice tea were laid out every afternoon for all to enjoy. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Overall, this was a great experience. We couldn't have asked for more. The only thing we did not like is having to leave. Can't wait to come back!

My husband and I absolutely loved the Alexandra B & B Inn. Daniel welcomed us warmly as soon as we arrived and made us feel right at home. Our room was stunning and the breakfasts were not only homemade but delicious. We cannot thank you enough for the wonderful accommodations and the unforgettable memories.

I absolutely loved my stay at the Alexandra B&B! We were in town for a music festival and therefore didn't spend as much time at the inn as we would wanted. However, the accommodations were extremely comfortable.... to the point that I felt as though I was retiring to my own bed at home every night! Breakfast each morning was delicious and quickly served. And I can't say enough about Daniel and Elizabeth. They were superbly gracious and helpful. Couldn't have asked for better hosts. I definitely will return to the Alexandra B&B Inn again!

Our stay at Alexandra's exceeded all expectations. The cleanliness and decore of the room and private bath was well above any others. Compliments to the Chef and others, breakfast was fresh and cooked to our request. I have stayed at the Inn over 50 nights in the last year. Daniel and staff are always friendly and helpful.They have catered to some erratic scheduling on my part- arriving without a reservation and the need for early tea. I have been in every room and enjoy them all. My internet works well, lack of local TV stations only minor drawback.I can always count on a good night's sleep, a hearty breakfast, and enjoyable conversations.

My wife and I enjoyed our brief stay and the breakfast was terrific. The innkeepers were friendly and engaging. The common areas were comfortable and the 'honor' bar was a blast. Wish we had the chance to sample dinners served on the weekends when the B&B doubles as a restuarant. Would stay there again.

My wife and I stayed with Daniel for a night recently and had a fabulous time. We were met with a friendly and gracious greeting, even tho we arrived late. The room was clean and comfortable, and spacious. The inn is beautifully landscaped -- we had a fabulous view from our toilet! There is a cozy bistro with an honor bar. Breakfast was excellent and filling, highlighted by a visit with the host. Daniel is engaging and very easy to visit with. Great stay.

We had a wonderful experience. The owner Daniel was an excellent host. This was one of the best experience with a B&B I have had. I would go back and next time spend a few more days. Thank you Daniel for making use feel welcome.

We especially enjoyed meeting Daniel and hearing his story. His pride in the place was evident in his care and enthusiasm. The breakfasts were incredible! Room was very attractive, neat and clean with a lovely gas fireplace. Wish we could have been in the original building, but overall, we were very pleased and would go back, especially to see the grounds in season.

We arrived late afternoon and were greeted warmly by the owner, who personally carried our bags to our quarters, which were flawless. Breakfast the next morning was exceptional, the owner also being a splendid chef. Other guests were friendly and chatty, etc., making it a more than comfortable visit. We hope to return next time we head toward Maine and, indeed, might just schedule our trip when the B & B is available!

We were greeted upon our arrival by the personable innkeeper/owner who explained the area and what it had to offer before showing us to our room. We had reserved a room in what was formerly a barn and it didn't disappoint. There was little evidence that the former barn held livestock or served other agrarian uses, except for the back door in the room. Our bath appreared as though it had just been renovated with a whirlpool tub and luxurious bath linens. Breakfast was a special treat served by the same host who served us a gourmet breakfast that would please any palate. We enjoyed our own private table overlooking the lawn and gardens now under renovation. We watched multiple varieties of birds flocking to the well stocked bird feeders through the picture windows in the breadfast room. Newly installed satellite TV had no guide while we were in residence, so if any favorite programs are required, it may take a search. The exterior of the buildings appear to need some TLC and may have suffered during the severe VT winter, but although work was ongoing during our stay, it did not infringe on our enjoyment. Bottom line is we would recommend a short stay at this historic inn. Donna K.

I stayed at Alexandra B&B for a business trip. Daniel was a great host. The inn is located in a central location. The room was very large and the bathroom was huge. The only problem I had was that my VPN did not work with their wireless - could have been my work system but, not sure. Would stay there again.

Everything exceeded our expectations. The room was very spacious and clean, looked brand new. The owner Daniel is hands on and very professional. We had dinner at the B&B. His cooking is from a four or five star restaurant, excellent.

The Alexandra Inn has all of the charm you might expect in a fine B&B along with the fantastic food that might surprise you. Breakfast each morning was spectacular with Daniel selecting ingredients that give each dish a local flair. The rooms were comfortable -- I slept better than at home -- and the reasonable breakfast hours don't force you to cut your sleep short when cozied up under the warmth of the comforter. A fireplace in the room kept the room warm on a cold Vermont night, and the plush robes and slippers were a nice touch. I recommend that you eat one night at the Alexandra as Daniel's four-course meals are well worth it. The night dinning is open only to guests and at most you'll dine with two other couples. It makes for a perfect evening. Melissa was a wonderful hostess. Her candor and humor will help you get your day off to a fine start in the morning. She and Daniel work tirelessly to make the Inn what it is so that guests can enjoy their time there. Bennington is a great place to catch the fall color and I'm sure is a great launching point to reach many of the nearby ski areas. Bennington has the small town Vermont charm that many other towns in southern Vermont lack. With art, history, and plenty of local attractions, Bennington is the perfect place to start your exploration of Vermont.

My spouse and I really enjoyed our stay at the Alexandra B&B Inn! Daniel and Melissa were efficient, friendly, very helpful but nonintrusive. The rooms were spacious, spotless, well appointed and very comfortable. Dinner was exceptional, as was the breakfast! All-in-all, it was a wonderful stay, and we'll be back!

If you are planning a trip to Southern Vermont, look no further than the Alexandra B&B for your lodging needs. You know you are in New England the moment you pull up to this estate. Once you are there, you will feel like you are staying at a friend's house. Innkeepers Daniel and Melissa are charming. Be sure to make time for breakfast before you head out each day. You won't be disappointed. In a word: delicious!

My wife and I stayed during a midweek getaway to Bennington, VT. The Inn was easy to get to and in a great (and quiet) location for our sightseeing in the area. Breakfast was awesome - well prepare and delicious. (We didn't try the special dinners, but will when we return.) Our room was large and comfortable. We would definitely recommend the Inn and would stay there again on our next visit.

My husband and I recently had a little getaway to Bennington, and were quite pleased with our stay at the Alexandra. Our room was clean and comfortable, the innkeepers were friendly, and the breakfast was outstanding! We especially enjoyed the view of the gardens from the breakfast room, and saw many birds come to the feeder. If we ever are in the area again, we would definitely stay at the Alexandra.

Daniel was a wonderful, caring host with a pleasant sense of humor. He takes his work seriously and his dedication shows. We stayed in room #3 which was a good deal for the price. I would suggest they put a pillow topper on the bed I found it to be floor hard, difficult to sleep on. Also the only garden view from that room is from the window next to the toilet, you have to pull the shade unless you want the people outside watching you while on the toilet! The breakfast and dinners and baked goods were great and I would go back just for the food! (I'll just have to bring my own bed topper with me) I strongly suggest you stay for at least one dinner. We also met Daniel's nephew who works there for the summer-so polite and helpful, everyone should have such a great employee! Melissa was MIA the day we stayed, didn't get to meet her.

This is a wonderful little inn with great, friendly, service and nice rooms.

My daughter and I visited Alexandra Inn during a visit to Bennington College. We were both impressed with the community, the inn and Daniel, the Innkeeper. Daniel is very friendly and accommodating, but not intrusive. We stayed in the Annex and loved it. It's a separate building from the main house, so it provides a little more privacy and is the perfect option for someone who wants the B&B experience without the feeling of sleeping in someone's house. The room was spotlessly clean and roomy, yet cozy. I especially enjoyed the gas fireplace in the evenings. Breakfast was absolutely incredible. I've stayed at a few B&Bs, but never had such a hearty breakfast. We were greeted with an assortment of juices, yogurt, granola, croissants, muffins, bread and fresh fruit - and that was just for starters! We were also given a choice of breakfast entrees, both of which were vegetarian and absolutely delicous. Daniel makes everything from scratch (and I do mean everything) and the croissants were the best I've ever had. A guest could easily expect to eat breakfast at Alexandra Inn and not need to eat again until dinner. We will certainly stay at Alexandra Inn during our next visit to Bennington.

I wanted to get my Mom away from the world for a weekend.The weekend was AMAZING ! Daniel and Horhay made our weekend a truly unique experience. Right form the start at check-in when they asked to carry our luggage upstirs I knew we had chosen the right place to stay.They made us feel like royalty answering every question and waiting on us like we were real people and not just a number like some of the chain hotels.The food was delicious. Great job guys! We will be back and plan to tell all of our friends and family about you.

Our visit to southern Vermont was well complemented by our stay at the Alexandra Inn. Daniel the Innkeeper, has made us live the extra-touch in Vermont hospitality. The room was comfortable, clean and well appointed to make our stay very pleasant. The real deal however is on both breakfast and dinner. Although Daniel, who is also the Chef, has no formal training in culinary arts; prepared outstanding food during our visit. I particularly enjoyed watching the bird feeders during the breakfast time and the panoramic view from the breakfast room.
