The Maple Leaf Inn

This was our second stay at the Inn and it was just as enjoyable as our first stay. Looking forward to our next stay.

Everything was perfect, once again, at the Maple Leaf Inn! Nancy and Mike are wo wonderful innkeepers. Always keeping the guest happy and well fed!

Do NOT miss a chance to stay in this lovely inn. The rooms and common areas are lovely -- comfortable, clean, cozy, and inviting. It felt more like a 5 star hotel but with really nice people running the show: Nancy and Mike are wonderful. The breakfast was delicious and the grounds are gorgeous. If you get a chance go for a walk or snowshoe behind the inn.

Nancy and Mike were great hosts. They treated us to terrific breakfasts, and they were very helpful with reservations for dinner at two outstanding local restaurants. The inn. located in central Vt., made it easy to get around.

Maple Leaf Inn is one of those rare places where everything you'd want in a stay away from home is provided. For one thing, it feels like home! That's in no small way because of the hospitality of the owners, Mike and Nancy. They treat you like old friends from the moment you arrive until the moment you depart. They're always available and willing to help with any question or problem you might have. That's a hard quality to maintain at a B&B where so many different people pass through that many hosts might cool off a bit over time. Then there's the quality and comfort of the inn itself. It's got that old country house feel...... but it's built to modern standards. All of the contemporary amenities are there and they are all maintained to perfection. Fireplaces are prepared for use every evening. Breakfasts prepared by Nancy and Mike are amazingly good, creative, and filling. If you need something special they will go to great lengths to accommodate. In addition there are always great cookies, etc waiting to catch your attention at the foot of the stairs throughout the day. The location in the Vermont countryside is hard to beat. In winter there is a long-distance snow mobile trail that passes behind the inn and allows for long hikes or even x-country ski expeditions through the "backcountry" snow. Although we haven't stayed there in warmer seasons, the location also seems good for touring the great Vermont landscape by bike or whatever mode of transportation you choose. This is one of the best B&Bs we've stayed in. A large part of that is because of the care and enthusiasm of Mike and Nancy and the little ways they make it special. Nothing like having the snow cleaned off your car from the previous night's snowfall!

My wife and I hadn't been away just the two of us for years and had never stayed at a bed and breakfast in Vermont. Started looking way ahead of time for reservations but many were already full. Mike and Nancy were just who we needed, not to mention the lovely inn itself. The inn is beautifully set back from the road only 10 minutes from Woodstock. Nicely lit at night. We were greeted each time we entered from an excursion but had plenty of quiet time as well. The gormet breakfasts were out of this world, loved the 24 hour coffee tea station, Comfy sheets, heated bathroom floor, whirlpool, in room fireplace and so many more little things that were icing on the cake. Why go anywhere else? Thank you for an unforgettable weekend. We will be there again!

Our first time staying at Maple Leaf Inn and we cannot say enough nice things about our experience. What a great place to be snowed in!! Everything was beyond expectation: food, meals, soft terry robes, heated bathroom floor, soft linens, wood-burning fireplace ... I could go on and on! Innkeepers even made extra effort to fix gluten-free selections that were also tasty. Will be back!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at the Maple Leaf Inn. It is an impeccable inn located in a beautiful bucolic seeting in Vermont. The rooms are spacious and well appoointed and the breakfast is spectacular. The innkeepers, Mike and Nancy, are what really make the Maple Leaf Inn a special place. They are warm, inviting and personable. The are very knowledgeable about the area and do all the little things to make your stay memorable.

We were fortunate enough to get a room at the Maple Leaf Inn the weekend just prior to Christmas. Not only is the Inn itself amazing, the property, the atmosphere and most of all the Innkeeeper(s) Nancy & Mike, were warm, welcoming and could not be more accommodating. It was a wonderful respite and a drastic contradiction to the hussle and bustle that was going on all over the country in preparation for the holiday. Our room was beautiful, with a fireplace and all the amenities one could want, not to mention a huge "family" breakfast in the morning. A "MUST GO"!!

My wife and I spent the last four nights of our Vermont honeymoon at the Maple Leaf. Everything was perfect, beautiful, and impressive, but most especially the service deserves a mention. There were a handful of little things that really set Nancy and Mike apart from the rest of the crowd. They'll do anything for their guests, even before it's asked. We love the place, and we're definitely going back some day.

I can't say enough about how hospitable the owners are..from the goodies left in our room to Nancy's fabulous breakfasts...the sheets on the bed were great...the rooms tastefully decorated...everything is wonderful...not far from many restaurants and neighboring towns...was just a great way to spend our 25th Anniversary and we will return ...loved it -highly recommend !!

We have stayed at the Maple Leaf twice and look forward to more visits in the future. Wonderful rural location not far from Woodstock, VT. Charming rooms, delicious breakfasts carefully prepared and beautifully presented. Mike and Nancy are focused on providing the most comfortable and accommodating service possible.

My husband and I were looking for a cozy, relaxed weekend in Vermont, and the Maple Leaf Inn gave us exactly what we were looking for! The house is beautiful, and our room (we stayed in the Autumn Woods room) was the retreat we needed! The working wood fireplace in the room was made up for us to have fires every night and really made the cozy, comfy evenings we wanted to have. Nancy and Mike are amazing hosts, ready with recommendations and to make reservations, or just to chat! They are warm and friendly, and Nancy is a killer cook! The breakfasts she made were delicious and exactly what you wanted on a cool November morning! Don't miss this amazing Vermont B&B - we're already looking at our calendar to see when we can go back! We can't wait!

It had been a long standing desire of my wife to see Vermont in the fall, so as a surprise I made reservations at The Maple Leaf Inn. We could not have asked for a more pleasant get away. Mike and Nancy are absolutely great. If we had a need for anything at all Mike and Nancy were more than helpful. We cannot wait wait to get back. It won't be like we're taking another vacation to Vermont, more like we're dropping in on old friends.

This is a wonderful place to stay in Vermont. The breakfasts are fantastic. They are very accommodating to vegetarians and gluten free friendly which is a major plus in my book. Our room was reasonably priced and very spacious.

Thank you Mike and Nancy for a wonderful WONDERFUL four nights at your beautiful inn! Not a detail is overlooked and the beauty of the place, the area and the season is only enhanced further by your hospitality. It was my personal dream come true to visit Vermont and it was all I hoped for thanks to you both! My wife and I totally enjoyed our stay at the Maple Leaf Inn, The facility was outstanding and the service was among the best we have enjoyed among many B&B stops.

My husband and I lived in Vermont for three + years while he attended law school at VLS. We went to his reunion and stayed at Nancy & Mike's Maple Leaf Inn. What a treasure. As we lived in VT for a time, we knew the area well but had no idea this gem was there! The Maple Leaf Inn is what everyone envisions a Bed & Breakfast to be - spotless yet charming; inclusive but private; handy location to Woodstock, Norwich & South Royalton with Barnard and the charming Lake a worthy destination alone.

The pictures are not overdone here. The inn and the grounds were absolutely gourgeous. The inn itself was immaculate. Our bed was very comfortable. We used the fireplace, which was ready to be lit. Very cozy. The breakfast was delicious. Mike and Nancy offer refreshments in the afternoon/evening and provide tips on the surrounding area and restaurants. TIP take the innkeepers suggestion on restaurants. They will not steer you wrong! And if you go to the Barnard Inn Tavern, taste the Switchback beer, delicious! In general, you will enjoy a B & B more if you are a social person. You will meet people from different areas and walks of life. If an Inn has more than one story, request an upstairs bedroom. You will hear the people above. And you are little more conscious about the noise you make since you are in a house not a hotel. Unfortunately, we were only staying for one night but we will be back. The area has plenty to do and the Maple Leaf Inn is a great center for your trip to Vermont. Mike and Nancy made us feel welcome and were very sweet.

We used Nancy and Mike's hospitable B&B as a place to come home to after touring all of the attractions in and around Barnard and Woodstock. We even took one full day to drive to Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. We had a unique visit and enjoyed Nancy's breakfasts and Mike's serving. They are fantastic Innkeepers. Thanks Nancy and Mike.

My sister and I were visiting the State of Vermont and decided to try a new type of accommodation during our last night. We stayed at the Maple Leaf Inn after reviewing some of the previous reviews left by recent visitors. Boy were they right about this place! Although we only stayed for one day, Mike and Nancy definitely made it memorable. They were great hosts that made us feel right at home. The accommodations were lovely, clean and most importantly, comfortable. In addition, Nona, the family dog, was friendly and lovable. And I can't forget Nancy's breakfast, which was fresh and full of flavor! Overall, it was a great experience which my sister and I would definitely relive. Thanks again Mike and Nancy! You were great!

Eleven of us descended on the Innkeepers Mike and Nancy for 3 days for a wonderful wedding weekend. Mike and Nancy were so nice and took our crazy schedules in stride, not to mention how helpful they were. They have thought of so many small details which made our time there beyond description. The bedding and beds were so comfortable, the food beyond delicious, and the atmosphere so "Vermont". Kudos to this couple and may they continue to have success. .

We have stayed in quite a few B and Bs from the Select Registry group and Maple Leaf Inn certainly met all of our expectations in terms of what a Select Registry inn should be. Mike and Nancy were warm and thoughtful innkeepers and our stay was perfectly comfortable. They pay attention to each and every detail to make the guests' experience as positive as possible.

We enjoyed being close to Woodstock but in a quiet wooded spot. The porch was so relaxing and serene. Breakfast was fabulous. Mike and Nancy were so nice and helpful. They thought of everything from cookies to a glass of wine....the perfect retreat. We'd go back tomorrow if we could.

We had never been to a bed and breakfast before and did not know what to expect. It was wonderful - the ambiance, the room, the food and our hosts. The Maple Leaf Inn could not have been better and our hosts, Nancy and Mike were the best. Kudos!!!

When you look online for a B&B in the Woodstock/Barnard area, or anywhere else, they all look great. But the Maple Leaf Inn really is great! Like another reviewer, my wife and I were there prior to the Covered Bridges Half Marathon and we could not have been more pleased with the cleanliness, hospitality, yummy breakfast or the facility itself. If you have any doubt at all about choosing one of the many places that look great online -- choose this one! You will be glad you did.

Wow- The Maple Leaf Inn exceeded our expectations! My 3 friends and I stayed the night prior to a big local race and were so impressed by the cleanliness, beauty, and comfort of the inn. Mike and Nancy were so incredibly kind and willing to do anything to make our stay perfect-- baked treats, evening tea, local gifts in our room, a specialized pre race breakfast, even an enthusiastic offer to drive us to our race start. All 4 of us decided the next stay needs to be a longer one!!!

Lisa My boyfriend and came up for a romantic weekend up in Vermont. From the moment we walked in Mike and Nancy were wonderful. We were greeted with Nancy's famous chocolate chip cookies which were wonderful. Nancy gave us a tour and every room was better than the other one. Mike took up to our room and it was beautiful. My boyfriend and I wanted to tie the bed to the car, we loved it that much. We said to each other the next day that did not want to get out of it. It was that comfortable!! Nancy you outdid yourself with the breakfasts everyday. They were fantastic and we are going to miss them. We enjoyed eating at two out of the three restaurants while we were there. The Prince and the Pauper and Bentley's were wonderful. Although the food the Barnard Inn was excellent the dog roaming through the dining room really ruined the evening for us. My boyfriend and would come back to The Maple Leaf Inn in a heartbeat!! Mike and Nancy Thank you for making our weekend so wonderful!!

The Autumn woods where we stayed was extremely cozy and clean. The inn keepers were very sweet, the extra care, selective little gifts they left in the room and the wonderful morning breakfast made it a pleasant stay. I have never enjoyed such an awesome breakfast ever. The knowledge of the inn keepers about the places around, the help they offered in guiding yes was really great. The library and the friendly Nola were also worth mentioning. A great gift for a getaway!

What a combination! It starts with Nancy and Mike's warm welcome, along with a glass of wine and home made goodies; then there's the beautiful rooms with king size beds, fireplaces, jacuzzi's and radiant heat in the bathroom; and in the morning, gourmet breakfasts. Help yourself to tea and coffee at any time of day. Our visit in January 2012 continued our annual tradition, and we'll be bringing famiy from England with us for our next visit in the Fall. It's the best!

This was our first visit to The Maple Leaf Inn and our experience was beyond compare. Mike and Nancy have thought about every little detail to make their guests feel welcome and comfortable. Rooms are clean and bright, breakfast was amazing, and all the little extras were a wonderful touch. The location was an added bonus as we were able to utilize the convenient trails for two great days of snow shoeing. We are already planning our next visit to The Maple Leaf Inn!

At the last minute, my wife and I decided on an overnight in Vermont. We selected the Maple Leaf Inn after checking with Select Registry. The Inn was perfect. Mike and Nancy are caring and warm hosts. The room was immaculate, and the wood burning fire place was terrific. We could not have asked for better accomodations. We stayed at M.L.I. from 12/19/11 - 12/22/11. This was our second stay at this beautiful B & B in Barnard, VT. We honestly cannot think of anything but positive things to stay about this place. The inn is absolutely immaculate with large, comfy rooms (most have fireplaces), radiant heat in the bathroom floors, the most comfortable bedding we have ever slept in, and beautifully decorated, cozy common areas. Mike & Nancy are wonderful innkeepers who truly make their guests feel at home. They have found the perfect balance - so helpful and attentive but never intrusive. Small details make a big impression- "gifts" on the pillows, chocolates & homemade cookies greet guests at the door, & complimentary wine or beer in the afternoon. We got engaged during our stay and found a lovely card congratulating us left on our bed that evening. They are also extremely helpful with finding local activities and dining spots. There are a wide variety of coffee and teas available 24 hours. A pantry upstairs contains a small fridge for guest use as well as some snacks and beverages. Nancy's three-course breakfasts are delicious! Something different every morning, sweet & savory, served with a smile. We have only been to the M.L.I. in the winter, which is beautiful, as this whole area of VT looks like something out of a Christmas postcard. We look forward to coming back as often as possible and enjoying each season. There is a large wraparound porch with rocking chairs as well as a firepit with adirondack chairs in the yard - must be great in the summertime! Highly recommended!

Mike and Nancy are welcoming innkeepers and they share their home with open arms. The rooms are airy and each one is unique. The charm is quaint and made to feel old fashioned but all the amenities are current as this Inn was custom built not even 20 years ago. Mike and Nancy are easy going and friendly and their senior dog Nona is a pleasure. The rooms are immaculate, the food great and the location quite serene. And in the nice weather we can sit for hours in the rocking chairs on the porch. We have been returning to Maple Leaf for about 16 years - Annette and Paul

This was exactly what we were looking for! We loved the beautiful inn and the gracious Innkeepers. The rooms were so comfortable and the bedding was so luxurious. I can't say enough about the breakfast. It was so delicious, healthful and plenty of it for my husband. This was our first visit to Vermont and The Maple Leaf Inn met all my romantic thoughts about this lovely state. Nancy was a great help to plan our days activities and my husband loved his run right out the front door. Great experience, can't wait to go back.

The innkeepers offer outstanding hospitality in a beautifully appointed inn where they have anticipated every need and convenience a traveler might want! Delicious gourmet breakfasts, very comfortable rooms and a relaxing atmosphere. An inviting place to relax and enjoy the Vermont countryside!

We found the Maple Leaf Inn to be a wonderful "get away" destination. The inn is charming, immaculately clean, luxurious, and everything one could hope for in a Bed & Breakfast. The location is convenient yet sufficiently isolated to offer tranquility in a natural setting. One could breathe the sweet fresh air and no matter how hard you might try to hear any sound of distant traffic you will only hear the "sound of silence". We loved every minute and recommend it to anyone who wants to escape the craziness of daily life.

This place was incredible in every way. The breakfast's and rooms were excellent. The only advice I would give is too make sure you have good directions before going (available on website). There are many detours from all the road damage caused by the hurricanes and the GPS did not work well finding this place. There is also no cell phone coverage in Barnard. This is definately the best B&B I have ever visited!

The innkeepers, Mike and Nancy have a wonderful property on a beautiful parcel of land just 15 minutes from Woodstock. They provide an excellent service and know what it takes to please their guests. The food was excellent, the large rooms beautifully appointed and their service style was complimentary but unobtrusive. If you want the true Inn experience as it should be, Mike and Nancy and the Maple Leaf Inn will not disappoint. If a good night's sleep is a must, stay no where else.

We stayed at 4 B&Bs on our recent trip thru New England. By far, this one was the best! Mike and Nancy are outstanding innkeepers. The Inn is beautiful and the rooms are perfect! Nancy's breakfasts are delicious and truly a work of art! Mike was so helpful with giving us directions to great places to eat and sites to see in the area. We were very pleased and highly recommend this place to all travelers!

We stayed at the Maple Leaf Inn for two nights in early October. We've stayed at B&B's about six times before. We were really impressed by the innkeepers Nancy and Mike. They are very welcoming and helpful - really trying to make us feel at home. The food was wonderful each morning. Our third floor room was quiet, clean, and very nice. Overall we were very happy with our accomodations and service and we will probably return the next time we are in Vermont.

Just got back from my second visit to The Maple Leaf Inn and I'm ready to return any time! The Innkeepers, Mike and Nancy, are so personable and ensure a pleasant, comfortable stay without hovering. They are also very informative about the area. Gourmet breakfasts are absolutely wonderful. Rooms are comfortable, inviting, and spotless. (And the bed linens are to die for!) I've stayed at many inns and just can't "gush" enough about this one.

I planed a weekend getaway with my boyfriend to celebrate my birthday at Maple Leaf Inn. I guess I had a quite high expectation after my B&B experience before and also from reading the great reviews on the Inn. Despite the fact that the hosts are very welcoming and helpful, and the rooms are very clean, I don't think the room we got and the breakfast we had are as great as we would like it to be. Overall, it is a nice stay but not awesome.

We were given a gift certificate to stay at the Maple Leaf Inn by our son and daughter-in-law. We had wanted to go back to Vermont as we hadn't visited since our boys were young. We had no idea where we were going, but our son scoped things out on the internet and found this lovely oasis. The inn is beautiful with all the amenities anyone would want. You are in driving distance to so many attractions and stores, but the best is the way you are treated while there. We loved it so much that we went again this fall. The food is fantastic and you could not find better innkeepers than Mike and Nancy. The Frasers'

We had the PLEASURE to be staying at the Maple Leaf Inn during tropical storm Irene! As the storm was pummeling Vermont with 7-10 inches of rain, we were holed up at the Inn. We could not leave, due to the flood waters. Nancy and Mike were so kind as to take in a local family who had gotten flooded OUT of there home when they left to have lunch and when they tried to return, the flood waters had blocked access to their home! Mike and Nancy cooked us all a delicious dinner as none of us could leave the Inn. We have stayed at the Maple Leaf three times, and look forward to our return!

We stayed at the inn during Hurricane Irene. We had a great stay. The inn keepers prepared extra meals for us and two local families who could not get to their home due to flooding. They had back-up power when commercial power went out. They kept spirits high and still had fresh cookies in the afternoon!

My wife and I had the opportunity to spend three nights with Nancy and Mike in August. They provided us a very peaceful and enjoyable stay. Their attention to detail put us in touch with dinner reservations when we had not thought of them. We will certainly return in the near future.

My husband and I spent four nights at the Maple Leaf Inn during our summer vacation, and couldn't have asked for a more relaxing getaway. Mike, Nancy, and Anamaria made everything so easy -- we were truly able to relax and enjoy our time away from the city. This was our first trip to Vermont and we chose the perfect bed and breakfast to begin our journey...The Maple Leaf Inn. The inn is peacefully surrounded by hundreds of trees and visiting hummingbirds. The room was clean and tastefully decorated in beautiful oak furniture and many windows that over-looked the well-groomed grounds. The food was so well worth waiting for each morning, served in a charming dining room by the innkeepers. We found the innkeepers to be kind and friendly and aware of our needs, giving us tips of local eateries and places to adventure to. This inn was the best stay-over of our trip. We are looking forward to returning!

We had a wonderful time at this Inn. We will certainly return. After staying at this Inn, we would not stay anywhere else when we return to visit Vermont oin the future.

B&B's don't get any better than this, the site, the amenities, the wonderful Vermont breakfasts, but mostly for the efforts of Nancy and Mike. We're repeat guests.

Maple Leaf Inn is by far one of the nicest B&B's in the country. We absolutely loved the location, lay out of the Inn itself, and the Innkeepers. Anyone considering opening a B&B should be REQUIRED to take a course from Nancy and Mike in order to become licensed! They are so good at their jobs because it is evident that they think about EVERY detail, no matter how small. From the afghans draped over every chair, including the rocking chairs on the porch (we had a couple of delightfully chilly days at the end of June), to the complementary snacks, coffee/tea/hot cocoa, wine/beer, use of the laptop, extensive library, peaceful and tranquil location - everything is perfect at this Inn. We highly recommend it to anyone needing a getaway because the minute you cross the threshold of the Inn, you are escorted into a different world! We can't wait to return! The cost for our room, which had a fireplace, Jacuzzi tub/shower, comfortable bed, heavenly sheets, two recliners, TV with cable and VCR and 6 windows (wonderful on the chilly days to let the fresh air in!) was very reasonable. We have paid more and gotten much less for our money. Add in the fabulous breakfasts, Nancy's cookies and small gifts left for you at turndown and you have one of the best places to visit in the US!

The Maple Leaf is the nicest B & B that my husband and I have ever stayed in. The rooms are spacious, sparkling clean, and very comfortable. The delicious food is surpassed only by the warm generosity of the innkeepers, Mike and Nancy. They make guests feel very welcome and happy they chose to stay at the Maple Leaf!

This lovely Inn is situated off the beaten path yet close to attractions. A great place to find peace. The innkeepers are lovely people who are very welcoming. We enjoy going to Inns where the inkeepers are present and take personal pride in their work. Nancy and Mike are great. Would return.

We spent four nights and enjoyed every minute of it. Nancy and Mike could not have been more attentive. After we mentioned to Mike and Nancy that it was our wedding anniversary, we returned to find red roses, chocolates, and a card waiting for us in our room. When Nancy discovered I loved to bake but had been unable to schedule a class at King Arthur flour, she taught me how to make croissants--a long process! Nancy also sent us home with a bag of home-made granola. And the breakfasts were three courses and to die for. We can't wait to come back!

My wife and I spent two nights for our 20th anniversary. When we arrived we were met at the door by the innkeepers Nancy and Mike who were friendly and attentive. The room was fabulous and the breakfasts were spectacular. Mike and Nancy were the perfect combination friendly innkeeper and informed concierge. We felt like we were staying with old friends who offered the right suggestions for places to eat and things to do, all of which turned out to be just what we wanted. As we spent our days in the surrounding towns we were informed that we were staying there in what is affectionately known by Vermonters as mud season (which should be know as the it's nice and quite here season). This turned out to be the right time for us as the towns are accessible (parking was easy) and the local shopkeepers had time to visit with us as we shopped. We would encourage anyone who is looking for a place to relax to head to the Maple Leaf. We have already heartily recommended the inn to our best friends and think this would be the perfect place for a two couple getaway. My wife is planning on taking each of our daughters up for a special night away with mom and there is no doubt that Nancy and Mike will make those perfect stays also. We will definitely be heading back up ourselves. If you get the chance head up and spend a few days with Mike and Nancy you will not be disappointed.

We stayed at the Maple Leaf Inn for a brief one-night getaway. Mike and Nancy were welcoming and very gracious. We were planning to go snow-shoeing around the area, but it turned out that there is a cross-country ski trail just 100 meters from the back of their house, and Mike was nice enough to lend us their snow shoes. We also greatly enjoyed their fireplaces (both on the main floor and in our room), which were each prepped with firewood and just needed the strike of a match to start. Highly recommend!

My wife and I traveled to the Maple Leaf Inn from our home in Texas. We wanted a nice get-a-way. We were greeted by Mike and Nancy as we entered the front door. They were very gracious and very helpful with information on what to see in the area. The room was beautiful and relaxing. The breakfast was outstanding and very enjoyable. We were pampered the whole time we stayed at The Maple Leaf Inn. Mike and Nancy do an grea job taking care of their guests and any needs they may have. We truly enjoyed our get-a-way. We will be going back to The Maple Leaf Inn in the future. This was our first B&B to stay at. We picked the right one for our first stay.

The warmth you feel when the front door opens isn't just from one of the many fireplaces scattered throughout the house. Nancy and Mike make you feel right at home from the moment you step in. From the constant smell of something wonderful cooking emanating from the kitchen to the little gifts left on your bed each day, you feel like this house is a home. This was the cleanest B+B we have ever stayed at. My wife and I haven't slept this soundly in years. You fall onto the king sized bed and wake up a different person. No alarm clock needed. You will wake to the smells of one of Nancy's famous breakfasts. The memories created at The Maple Leaf Inn will provide you a warmth no hearth could ever match! You must stay here but be careful, you may never want to leave!!

This B&B was the perfect romantic getaway for Valentine's Day weekend. The innkeepers were always attentive and made us feel at home. Our room, Morning Glory, was clean and spotless. The bed sheets were so soft and comfortable that we are considering purchasing a set for our home. The breakfast each morning was delicious and so filling. We would definitely stay here again! the maple leaf was the perfect choice for the 4 of us to celebrate our 10th year visiting b&bs.mike and nancys pride of ownership is ever-present.every room was spotless,well appointed and comfortable.the food was great and well presented.the owners were always there for you and your needs,but not overbearing.the turndown service and all the little "gifts"are an example the special touches that sets the MLI apart from most inns.we also enjoyed sitting with them,getting their feelings on ownership of an inn.we will definitely return to the MLI soon...

but I love this place too much not to write something. Everything about the Maple Leaf is great but my favorite things are the comfy sheets, the fireplace in the bedroom and Nancy's breakfast (homemade croissants by way of example!)

Staying at the Maple Leaf Inn is an incredible experience, from the moment Mike greets you as you open your car door to your farewells as you leave with homemade cookies and maple syrup as parting gifts. After being there for just a few hours, we felt truly at home, as Nancy and Mike are such gracious and friendly hosts--Let us not forget Nona, the amiable inn dog. The rooms are lovingly decorated with family memorabilia and cozy furniture, and the fireplace and comfy chairs in our bedroom were a huge plus as we warmed up after a day of cross country skiing. Nancy and Mike have snowshoes available for guests wishing to use the wooded trails at the back of the inn. Of course, after a day of outdoor activities, it's always important to refuel, and breakfast is a high point--from a starter of fruit creatively prepared followed by warm scones and finally a yummy stuffed french toast. Maple Leaf Inn is definitely a place to return to every season!

Returned here last weekend for a special anniversary and I just have to admire the consistently outstanding hospitality afforded us. Mike & Nancy are so welcoming, it's like visiting family (only with no 'baggage'). Incredibly helpful, warm, and endearing hosts. We usually get here 1-2 weekends a year and just can't get enough of the peaceful environment and the luxurious, quiet, and completely relaxing accomodation. Already looking forward to our next visit!

My husband and I have stayed at many Inns and B & B's over the years and this is definately one of our favorites. It is warm and welcoming, immaculate yet charming. It is picture perfect to drive up to and the inkeepers, Nancy and Mike have always been there to welcome us on the walkway and help us carry in our luggage. We also appreciate a warm welcome from Nona, Nancy and Mike's dog. Each room is decorated beautifully and the beds are heavenly. Nancy and Mike's attention to detail is apparent in every room of the inn, in the service they provide and especially in each scrumptious breakfast that they prepare. The homemade cookies for an afternoon snack are always yummy. Well I guess it is very obvious...we love this place. We can't wait to go back!!!!!

My stay at the Maple Leaf Inn exceeded my expectations. The Inn is beautiful. Our room was clean and cozy, the bed was a comfy dream. We loved having a fireplace! Nancy and Mike were warm and welcoming. They left us special treats on our pillows for our anniversary. Even the other guests were very friendly. Nancy is an excellent chef...we had delicious breakfasts! The area in VT is very beautiful as well - a perfect fall getaway. Woodstock is nearby. Just what we were looking for for a Charming Vermont Inn Weekend Getaway. Just off the beaten track enough. Just quaint AND modern enough. Mike and Nancy are gracious respectful hosts. They provide unexpected little personal touches to make your visit uniquely for you.The food is gourmet, local, and healthy.

One of my wifes life long dreams was to stay at a Bed and Breakfast in Vermont. With our 26th wedding anniversary and her 4? birthday less than a week away she finaly got her dream. This was our very first time ever staying at a bed and Breakfast and Mike and Nancy made sure that it was perfect. From the time we walked in the door until we walked out the door to head back to Indianpolis. The room was great and the food was even better.

The innkeepers offer all the extra touches that made our stay so delightful. The room was large and going to sleep with the fireplace aglow was a treat. Breakfast was delicious so come hungry. Nancy and Mike were so helpful with where to dine and what to see. They helped us with our luggage and upon our departure, Nancy gave my husband some homemade chocolate chip cookies she learned he loved. Their friendly manner and attention to detail made it an exceptional place to stay.

We arrived at the Maple Leaf Inn in the early afternoon, Mike and Nancy both greeted us at the door. They had warm oatmeal chocolate chip cookies waiting for us. They both gave us a full tour of the Inn. Our room was at the top of the stairs and was just beautiful! The bed was so comfortable! Our bathroom had a heated floor and a bathtub big enough for two! My husband was not feeling well and decided to take a nap. I went downstairs to the Library and checked my email. (they have a computer for guest use) and read my book for awhile. I then took a walk to the local market. (only 1/4 mile down the road). When I had made our Inn reservations, Nancy had recommended dinner at the Simon Pearce. She had confirmed our dinner time for that night for us. Dinner was amazing and I would highly recommend going to this restaurant. Breakfast the next morning was amazing~ vanilla yogurt with fresh granola and berries, homemade blueberry/banana pancakes with fresh Vermont Maple syrup and bacon. Mike and Nancy truly LOVE what they do and it is obvious when you stay at their Inn. We stayed in 4 different Inns while in Vermont and New Hampshire and I would HIGHLY recommend staying at the Maple Leaf Inn!!

You wonder that a Victorian mansion could be so perfectly maintained, then discover that it is less than 20 years old -- thus, lots of old-time charm and the advantages of a modern inn. We loved our recent stay because Mike and Nancy were wonderful hosts, the facilities were impeccable, and the other guests, lots of fun. We definitely hope to return.

Maple Leaf Inn has an outstanding location in the countryside near Woodstock, Vt. The innkeepers are gracious, there are too many amenities to name and the breakfasts are, indeed, gourmet. We hope to return soon.

My wife and I booked a stay at the Maple Leaf Inn after reading online reviews for several B&B's in the Woodstock area. Our interest was in photographing the fall foilage and scenic New England towns and farms nearby. We found the Maple Leaf Inn better than we expected. The inn itself is spotlessly clean, well maintained, beautifully decorated, and the bed and linens were exceptionally comfortable. Room was spacious and exceptionally clean with comfortable chairs and a heavenly king size bed, with plenty of extra pillows. Even the fireplace had an authentic Persian rug in front of it. Mike & Nancy were very gracious hosts and patiently answered all of our questions. And their restaurant recommendations were outstanding and on the mark! The Inn is secluded and away from the road, so the only sound you hear is the rustling of leaves and the myriad birds that make this property their home. This is definitely a repeat stay for us if we are ever in the greater Woodstock area again.

From the moment you enter the grounds you realize you are in a special place. The hospitality is second to none from arrival until you depart. Every detail is and has been tended too. Nancy and Mike welcome you like they have known you for many years and look to create relationships which will be renewed through future visits. Special touches include personal notes, a full tour when you arrive, nightly turndown with a special gift, and a room which is immaculate. This was our second visit to the Maple Leaf Inn. The previous visit was under different management/ownership, 4 years ago. Obviously we enjoyed our first experience and sought out the inn again even though we live across the continent. The new owners have continued with the high standards set by the previous owners. We chose the same room again. We have and would highly recommend this Inn to anyone visiting the area.

After spending a whirlwind week in New York City the beauty and quiet of Vermont was a welcoming experience. Nancy and Mike were there to meet us when we arrived and from that moment they made us feel as though their home was our home. From a welcoming glass of wine to enjoy on the front porch to making dinner reservations for us they were always aware of our needs as well as the needs of the other guests staying with them. The room was spacious, nicely decorated and very well kept. The bed was extremely comfortable and we were able to sleep with all six windows open and heard nothing all night long. After a very peaceful sleep we were given a wonderful breakfast to set us on our journey home. Our stay was truly a great experience. The chocolate chip cookies a sweet treat. We will definitely be going back and will take friends with us.

The Maple Leaf Innn is an amazing place to stay. Mike and Nancy are wonderful hosts from arrival to departure. The property is beautiful and our room, The Country Garden, was lovely. Each breakfast was memorable! The attention to detail was admirable!! Can't wait to visit again!

Our favorite B&B. Mike and Nancy make you feel like you are home. The breakfasts are wonderful. I have a gluten intolerance and Nancy creates gluten free items for me. Just ask and she will accommodate just about any food issues you may have. Afternoon snacks, coffee, and lemonade are a treat. You couldn't find a more peaceful and relaxing place to unwind.

Mike & Nancy Boyle are unequalled in terms of accomodating all guests wishes and needs. This is perhaps the most relaxing inn anywhere - rocking on the porch - walking to the nearby country store - it doesn't get much more laid back. The food is great and the attention to detail terrific. You will come back.

My friend and I stayed there for 2 nights and the inn keepers could not have been nicer. It is a outstanding inn with modern luxuries yet old quaint charm. It is top rated on my list for comfort, value and friendliness. A must visit.

This is our second time at The Maple Leaf Inn. Nancy and Mike have been just wonderful in making our stay as memorable as possible. This Inn feels like our home away from home! The rooms are extremely comfortable with radiant heated bathrooms a welcome feature when days are cold. The breakfasts are as delicious as they come. The fireplaces in some rooms are perfect for cozy evenings in. Nancy and Mike are the most thoughfull, kind and generous people you will ever meet and our needs are always met. Housekeeping is wonderful too, leaving our rooms beautifully clean and fresh day after day. We look forward to our next stay with them.

We were surprised to learn that the inn had changed ownership a few years ago but were delighted to find that everything was just as nice as our stay a few years ago. Mike and Nancy were gracious and personable and all the amenities add up to a great stay. The snack cupboard and fridge came in handy when Stan needed his bedtime snack and although we didn't have a chance to use the always available coffee machine it was nice to know it was there. Spending a few days in Vermont in mud season, was made pure pleasure by Nancy and Mike at The Maple Leaf Inn. We'd go back anytime. Hitting maple syrup season was the a bonus.

Mike and Nancy really go the extra mile to make the Maple Leaf Inn a place of comfort and welcoming. They don't just provide and serve, they anticipate. (The breakfast pizza is terrific) The room was quiet, private, and just what we needed to unwind. Mike and Nancy were great with providing information and advice for dinner plans, sight-seeing, places to shop, etc. When your bed is turned down each night, a little gift is waiting for you. With so many choices for lodging in the Woodstock Vermont area we a are so pleased that we picked the BEST. It's the little things that make a difference and Mike and Nancy cover all the bases and more. If you are looking for a place to stay in the area look no further.

This inn is wonderful. Setting is idyllic. Charming public spaces. The innkeepers, Nancy & Mike, are friendly, helpful, lovely to chat with. Their dog Nona is wonderful. Each room has its own thermostat. Each bathroom has heated floors. Mike was sure to stock our supplies for our REAL wood burning crackling fireplace multiple times per day. Both the bed and the bedding were amazing. The breakfast each day was creative, prompt, & delicious. Snacks and beverages are readily available for any guest at any time. We stayed at the Maple Leaf for a long weekend in January 2010, and it was a simply perfect weekend from start to finish. Mike and Nancy were so welcoming and friendly, gave great recommendations on dining and shopping, and made sure we had our our own space. The room (and inn) was gorgeous and so comfortable (the sheets alone deserve their own reveiw!), and we loved the bathroom with the big tub and fireplace - perfect for January! The food completely exceeded our expecatations - each one was completely unique and delicious. Nancy - when are you going to come out with that cookbook? I'm still dreaming about the fruit salad... All in all, this is an amazing inn, and I'm so glad that we found it. We were sad to leave, and can't wait to come back for another visit. I think that the Maple Leaf Inn has spoiled us for any other B&B - I can't imagine going anywhere better!

Mike and Nancy are "HANDS DOWN" the best host. Beautiful Inn, Beautiful Property. Far above our expectations and our expectations were very high. Mike and Nancy go way out of their way to make you feel welcome. They are head and shoulder's above their competition. The MAPLE LEAF INN sets the bar for ANY Hotel, Bed & Breakfast or resort. We stayed there the first week in October 2009 to catch the Fall foliage (and we were just in time). Not only is the Maple Leaf Inn a picture perfect Vermont B & B, Nancy & Mike were very personable and made wonderful meals. The rooms were absolutely beautiful and the fireplace was always prepped every night, ready for us to use. I hope to return again and again and again.

I have stayed at the Maple Leaf Inn 5 times now and each time I enjoy the experience more and more. I love the location, the beautiful house, the warm and inviting atmosphere. It is truly a magical place!!! I can never stay at another bed and breakfast anywhere!!!

We've been staying at the Maple Leaf Inn at least once a year since we first experienced it in 2003. The rooms are beautiful and clean. Nancy cooks a very tasty and filling breakfast. Mike and Nancy are wonderful hosts who maintain a beautiful inn. We also look forward to seeing Nona.

My husband and I spent a fabulous weekend at the Maple Leaf Inn in September. Nancy and Mike are amazing hosts with just the right amount of attention balanced with privacy! We unforunately had some allergies to the down comforter, which they immediately rectified for us! The breakfasts were so yummy. Nona is just the cutest pet and a joy to have around. Can't wait to go back!

We went to Vermont mid-October to see the Fall leaves. Our stay at the Maple Leaf Inn was the highlight of the trip. The hosts, Nancy & Mike, go out of their way to make everything perfect for their guests. The room was comfortable and clean. We would definitely stay there again.

We started out seeing the fall leaves and awoke to snow. This was such a delight! Mike and Nancy go out of their way, helping preserve my fall leaves with wax paper and an iron. Would go back in a second!

Mike and Nancy went out of their way to make us feel welcome, right down to the ever-present cookies at the bottom of the stairs. And the room! The best bed in an inn we have ever had. We were fortunate to stay at the Maple Inn for three nights in September 2009 and would highly recommend this as a five star bed and breakfast. Rooms, food, service, ambiance and most of all our hosts all exceeded any expectations we could possibly have. The superior linens alone are worth visiting again. The extra touch of leaving little "presents" on the pillows at nightly turndown makes it feel like Christmas each and every night. We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary weekend at The Maple Leaf Inn. It was our 3rd visit and each time it just gets better and better. Every August for the last 4 years, my husband and I savor a two-night stay at the Maple Leaf Inn. The hosts are more gracious than any guest could hope for, and the inn itself pulls you into a relaxed state just through its ambiance ... and the ever present baked goods and glasses of iced drinks! We sit on the porch, reading and planning our dinner and next day's activities and just enjoy being together without having to worry about kids, cooking, cleaning, or whose turn it is to take out the garbage. Mike and Nancy provide a refuge for the harried and stressed, and turn us into relaxed people who remember why we love each other. If you're looking for that kind of experience, stay here.

The Maple Leaf Inn is the perfect get away. It was so relaxing, and the owners Nancy and Mike were so gracious. I throughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend it to anyone. Perfect location, and the rooms and breakfast exceeded my expectations.

What great hosts! We stayed in a lovely room - lots of room and clean. The excellent bed with absolutely heavenly linens made sleeping an event. We were treated to great breakfasts and were catered to throughout the day if we had a request. The house is located far off the road and is surrounded by wooded areas yet restaurants and shops were easily accessible. We will be returning to the Maple Leaf Inn in the autumn and have shared this place with our friends.

We can't say enough about this inn and the innkeepers. This is a gem of a B&B. The highest standards are met in comfort, elegance, service and value. We can't wait to get back for another visit.
