Inn Details

Smithfield Station is a boutique style, family owned and operated waterfront Hotel, Restaurant and Marina located on the banks of the Pagan River in historic downtown Smithfield, VA.

Our hotel is divided in to four categories, the lodge, the lighthouse, the boardwalk and the original building.

The Lodge at Smithfield Station is our newest addition. Opened in September 2007, the new Lodge offers 22 high end, boutique style rooms. All rooms are waterfront and all but two have private balconies. All rooms in the Lodge are non smoking, feature king size beds, fireplaces, granite counters, tile showers (no bathtubs) and upscale amenities.

Our lighthouse was modeled after the Hooper Strait Light in Maryland, now located at the Maritime Museum in St. Michaels, MD, the Light at Smithfield is an exact replica of a working Chesapeake Bay Style Lighthouse. The upstairs suite is the Capt. Sinclair Honeymoon Suite and the downstairs is the Capt. Todd Executive Suite. Each has its own uniqueness about it and is sure to cure whatever ails you.

The Boardwalk Rooms and Cottages are located along the boardwalk between the Lighthouse and the Original Building. These unique rooms are truly waterfront as they sit anywhere from six to twenty feet from the marina and all are on the first floor.

The original building, as its name implies, is the original structure built on the property. This building houses the Smithfield Station restaurant as well as 15 hotel rooms. The exterior of the Station is modeled after the old Coast Guard life saving stations that proliferated the coast of Virginia and Outer Banks of North Carolina.
