Extremely friendly, very helpful in planning local activities and dining. Encouraged contacting her at any time for help or service. Enjoyed the working fireplace. Rooms were well heated and decorated. Delicious breakfasts. We enjoyed the Christmas music and decorations throughout the house. We enjoyed the cider tasting in the late afternoon. We learned the history of the house. The weather during our visit was wet so we did not get to enjoy the grounds as much as we would have otherwise. All-in-all a very pleasant visit. Highly recommend.

Not sure why I couldn't give High Meadows Vineyard all 5 stars but I would rate all 5 categories a 5...the site would only allow me to rate them all a 4. We bought a Living Social for this B&B and would definitely go again! The house has such character and Nancy and Cynthia are extremely accommodating, friendly, and so knowledgeable. We stayed in the Cottage which was excellent and had all the comforts of home (frig, fireplace, view, space). The breakfast was plentiful and delicious! The Breezeway always was stocked with refreshments and the entire place is extremely clean. You will love the history of the house that Nancy is a great story teller. She is a wealth of information on Scottsville and the surrounding area and can recommend many great sites to visit in the area. We would definitely consider going back.

Our stay at High Meadows Vineyard Inn was more that we could possibly imagine. Nancy and Cynthia have created a beautiful retreat for travelers who want to get away and enjoy some peaceful time away. They truly gave us the weekend away that we were looking for. Their service was impeccable and the food delightful. We felt so at home in the historic bed and breakfast and we can't wait to make it a tradition to visit every year. We stayed in the Peony room and I would highly recommend this room for its beautiful charm and romantic setting.

I bought my stay from a deal on Living Social for a mini getaway for myself. The pictures and description won me over, and I couldn't be more happy with my decision to stay at High Meadows! Everything about it there is wonderful. The women are so friendly, the rooms are amazing, breakfast was delicious, and the entire place was just so warm, cozy, and welcoming. I could go on for days! I'm recommending it to all my friends and can't wait to back myself! Two thumbs up, five gold stars, and a million thanks for my wonderful stay!

High Meadows is a wonderful getaway. It's cozy and quaint with lots of southern charm. The perfect place for a romantic adventure or a girlfriends weekend. The breakfast is spectacular! Nancy, the Innkeeper, has a wealth of information regarding local sightseeing highlights. She's is always up for an interesting chat. As an added bonus Nancy's son has a wonderful restaurant in Scottsville The Smokehouse Grille that you have to visit!

My husband and I decided on High Meadows Vineyard Inn for a getaway from DC. It was the perfect time of year to visit wineries and see the leaves change. I highly recommend the wine package for a private tour through 4 different wineries. Ours included Blenheim, First Colony, Trump, but I can't recall the name of the 4th offhand. We stayed in the Peony room, which was lovely. There is a fireplace and a 2 person jacuzzi tub. It's worth noting that there is ONLY a tub (no shower) - and while this surprised us, it was kind of fun to switch gears for a few days. The king size bed (two twins pushed together) was very comfortable. It's the type of room where you don't mind hanging out and reading in bed for a few hours. Nancy put out wine in the evening, which I thought was a nice touch. She was quick to offer advice on where to go in town. Scottsville is small, but there are a few gems, including her son's restaurant The Smokehouse Grill. I would (and have) recommended this place to a friend!

We stayed in the Cottage Room. Very cute room with a bath. Private entrance, separate from the house. Keep in mind, you enter a small foyer and to the right is the Cottage Suite and to the left is the Cottage Room. Also, no TVs...but don't need them because it's so pretty here! Beautiful, country grounds and loved the parlor and sunroom! The outdoor cats are so, so sweet! Nancy was a wonderful hostess! Very nice! We will definitely try to come back! Thank you!

Our stay at High Meadows was a delight. We stayed in the cottage which was nicely appointed, quiet and serene. The breakfast was wonderful. Nancy, the innkeeper, regaled us at breakfast with a history about the property and stories of the surrounding area which in itself is beautiful. I would definitely recommend High Meadows Vineyard Inn for those looking for a peaceful, friendly setting close enough to Charlottesville to enjoy it's attractions yet far enough away to avoid it's bustle.
The entire attic floor of the Federalist house. Peaked ceiling, clawfoot soaking tub and handheld shower, separate marble tile shower, and a charming king round bed add to the peaceful sweetness of this room. Truly private, the Dogwood is accessed by it's own tall staircase and has 4 tiny windows on either end that look out into the dogwood branches. Pretty in any season - the leaves in fall turn a vibrant red.
Nightly Rate: $209 - $269
The Cottage Suite is the right side of our woodland cottage. With a private sitting area and deck overlooking the back woods, the only sounds you are likely to hear are the birds. Painted to envoke a true cottage experience, this room has the space to spread out and enjoy just a night, or several - have dinner in your own room and curl up to relax with a good book.
Bright and sunny yellow, with a beautiful queen bed. An antique clawfoot tub and handheld shower invite a long soak...in front of the fireplace in fall and winter. Views of the side azalea garden and the front VA Pinoit Noir vineyard are a pleasant way to watch the sun go down.
Nightly Rate: $149 - $189
Also on the second floor of the Victorian house, this room has a king bed, a large walk-in shower, and a cozy armchair to settle in with a good book, in front of the fireplace in fall and winter. Pale willow green walls are accented by chartreuse silk curtains and pillows, and luxurious Anichini linens.
Located on the second floor of the Victorian house, this room has an antique king, four-posted bed, a large walk-in shower and is a beautiful pale blue...the color of a robin's egg, as the room name suggests.
This room is on the main level of the Victorian house. With a large bay window, a luxurious king bed, two-person whirlpool tub and fireplace, this is one of our most requested rooms. Many original finishes still exist on doors and trim, including the faux painted slate mantel and window shutters.
Cottage Room...is the left side of our woodland cottage cabin. A king bed, generous stand-up shower and big window looking out into the woods - curl up on the loveseat and watch the birds!
