Great place to stay if you want to get "unplugged". The room was comfortable and very charming. And the breakfasts were delicious! We would definitely go back and stay again.

My husband and I had a perfect weekend at High Meadows. Our room (the Willow room) was beautiful and comfortable. The two breakfasts we enjoyed at the Inn were of very high quality. The grounds were lovely and we enjoyed taking a morning stroll before breakfast. I can only imagine how beautiful it will be once warmer weather arrives. After a full day of wineries and breweries, we were very happy to return to our accommodations. I am very much looking forward to our next visit!

A delightful and colorful Inn. Nancy was full of great suggestions. Winery's close by. Delicious food in town nearby. If you enjoy history, visit Monticello and Monroes homes. Also hiking abounds.

We stayed for two nights in the Peony Room. It was a lovely room. Unfortunately I didn't check ahead to confirm there was a shower, so we used a handheld shower for two days! But the host was wondeful (Nancy) and the food was outstanding. We did a lot of wine tasting and cider tasting. Don't miss the blackberry cobbler at the James Tavern!

This inn is a charmer, quaint, comfortable, clean with many amenities. We loved the cottage room we stayed in and wished we had had more time. Loved the breakfast. truly wonderful food. The innkeeper is lovely, so helpful in every regard. For us cat lovers, the resident outdoor cats were one of the highlights! We will definitely go back.

My partner and I had a wonderful winter weekend getaway at High Meadows last weekend. I am so happy that we chose to stay here! The Inn is charmingly decorated, and doesn't feel stuffy the way that many B&Bs do. Nancy was warm and friendly and gave us a lot of great advice to plan out our weekend activities. Breakfast was delicious! I have been talking about the candied bacon non-stop since coming home. And my favorite thing? The amazingly cozy and comfortable bed! I would definitely recommend High Meadows to anyone looking for a little getaway spot in the VA wine country.

I stayed here for two nights in the Cottage Suite with my girlfriend and we both raved about this place afterward to family and friends. The room was wonderful and there was plenty of privacy available in spite of the communal environment of B&B's. Our breakfasts both mornings were delicious and very creative - apparently cooking fruit is the way to go! The location was hard to beat, as almost anything you could think of to do was a half hour or so in any direction - we went hiking, visited some breweries, and went to downtown Charlottesville. We opted to request several packages that made our stay more fun - they'll deliver milk and home-made cookies to your room! (Or at least that was an option when we made our reservations) We also had a picnic lunch prepped for us for after our hike and had a charcuterie plate and local ciders brought to our room the first night. The innkeepers are so friendly and welcoming, and it's hard to imagine a better bed and breakfast to have gone to for our first time staying at one. Absolutely loved this place and would love to go back in the future.
The entire attic floor of the Federalist house. Peaked ceiling, clawfoot soaking tub and handheld shower, separate marble tile shower, and a charming king round bed add to the peaceful sweetness of this room. Truly private, the Dogwood is accessed by it's own tall staircase and has 4 tiny windows on either end that look out into the dogwood branches. Pretty in any season - the leaves in fall turn a vibrant red.
Nightly Rate: $209 - $269
The Cottage Suite is the right side of our woodland cottage. With a private sitting area and deck overlooking the back woods, the only sounds you are likely to hear are the birds. Painted to envoke a true cottage experience, this room has the space to spread out and enjoy just a night, or several - have dinner in your own room and curl up to relax with a good book.
Bright and sunny yellow, with a beautiful queen bed. An antique clawfoot tub and handheld shower invite a long soak...in front of the fireplace in fall and winter. Views of the side azalea garden and the front VA Pinoit Noir vineyard are a pleasant way to watch the sun go down.
Nightly Rate: $149 - $189
Also on the second floor of the Victorian house, this room has a king bed, a large walk-in shower, and a cozy armchair to settle in with a good book, in front of the fireplace in fall and winter. Pale willow green walls are accented by chartreuse silk curtains and pillows, and luxurious Anichini linens.
Located on the second floor of the Victorian house, this room has an antique king, four-posted bed, a large walk-in shower and is a beautiful pale blue...the color of a robin's egg, as the room name suggests.
This room is on the main level of the Victorian house. With a large bay window, a luxurious king bed, two-person whirlpool tub and fireplace, this is one of our most requested rooms. Many original finishes still exist on doors and trim, including the faux painted slate mantel and window shutters.
Cottage Room...is the left side of our woodland cottage cabin. A king bed, generous stand-up shower and big window looking out into the woods - curl up on the loveseat and watch the birds!
