Polly is amazing and went out of her way for a request I made. I wanted to surprise my boyfriend with a cheese tray and wine presentation when we arrived! Wow! She did an amazing job and e en put other snacks which made it even more special!!! I also got the opportunity to meet Polly 's husband Sean and her parents! What a nice family!!! Thanks again Polly for a most amazing memorable Labor Day weekend in " The Cellar "

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Cellar Room on Sunday 8/17/14. I can't say enough good things about this B&B. My first impression when I walked in the door was "WOW". The suite was spacious, extremely clean and beautifully decorated. The innkeepers obviously know what they are doing and strive to make their guests stay memorable. I actually didn't want to leave. When you walk into the suite, you see the adorable kitchen. It was stocked with numerous snacks for all tastes and preferences. There were breakfast items in the fridge which included fruits, yogurt, pastries, breads, cereals, etc. There was a Keurig on the counter with coffees, teas, and hot chocolates. The living room area had comfortable couches and club chairs, books to read and a dish of chocolates. The bath had ample soft towels and face cloths, Shampoo, conditioner and bath gel. The bedroom area had a small makeup table with mirror and lighting. The bed was decorated beautifully and very comfortable and there were soft robes for our use. Another thing that impressed me was the thoughtful addition of umbrellas in the event of rain, flashlight in the bedroom, an iron, and pretty much anything we could possible need during our stay. I want to say don't stay here so that any dates I might want to come back would be available, but that would be unfair. :) I plan to return as soon as possible and I hope that this suite is available. As a side note, don't miss eating at the Bamboo Cafe. A locals joint with fantastic food and good drinks. It was just down the block and across the street.

the one b and b, is gorgeous and very clean. i am a very picky hotel/b&b customer and i loved this place. cary town is very cute with lots of delicious restaurants and shops. Sean and Polly were available when we needed them, but otherwise we had the place to ourselves. we will definitely visit again if we find ourselves in the Richmond area.

The One is a fantastic place to stay. It is close to many things, including excellent dining and museums. I have stayed there a few times, and my most recent visit was when the owners were out of town and had someone else taking care of guests. She was very friendly and did a super job as a stand-in. I highly recommend The One.

We were in Richmond for my son's wedding. We stayed in the Cellar and my brother and his girlfriend stayed in the Dream Suite. It was so comfortable for the 4 days we were there. The kitchenette is stocked with snacks and drinks, more than I could have imagined. Polly is so friendly and delightful to talk with. I would definitely stay here again on a return trip!

Our check in time was at 3:00 p.m. Check in was very easy as they already had my info and had sent me e-mail conformation and supplied me with my entery code to the front door. The room was clean and what I had expected it to be, the parlor held light snacks and drinks. The one thing that I had a problem with was during our stay we had never met our host's. They were not there upon our arrival and at no point during our stay did we have the chance to meet them.
Thank you for taking the time to write a review! We are glad that you were happy with the accommodations, but sorry that we didn't get a chance to meet you during your stay. Our property is unique in the fact that our guests have a private entry. Many people enjoy the privacy and flexibility and ease of checking in when they like. Unfortunately, due to our schedules, as well as that of our guests, we sometimes have a hard time connecting when we are all here at the same time. We do our best to provide for our guests needs regardless of if we're able to meet in person or not, so we are happy you enjoyed the extra amenities in the Parlor during your stay! We hope you will visit us again should your travels bring you to Richmond and we hope for opportunity to meet in person!

Great location, a block off of Cary Street and close to many attractions. A great experience for those would prefer to not be bothered - innkeeper seems very hands-off, you get an entry code via email which is all you need to get in - no need to hit a particular check-in time. Breakfast is continental but tasty and served for a nice long chunk of the morning, good for us late-risers. Be aware that there is a public hallway between your room and your bathroom.
Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review! We are happy that you enjoyed your visit and the accommodations and location of our B&B. We hope you will come back to visit again soon!
