    Situated on a secluded creek of the Chesapeake Bay in charming Mathews County, Virginia, the Inn has over 800 ft. of waterfront and 8 acres of wooded and open space. The main Inn is an 1820's newly renovated farmhouse with separate cottages housing the luxury suites just across the garden and pool. It is just the place if you appreciate the natural splendor of the outdoors and want the luxury and comfort of a casual B&B.

    When we are not trying to provide the upmost in service and information to our guests, we are enjoying the beautiful nature that surrounds us through Stand Up Paddleboarding and cycling. We also love working in our organic gardens as well as our kiln fired glass studio. Volunteering in our community is also very important to us.

    • Minimum stay: Week ends- 2 night minimum stay between May 1st and October 31st

    • Deposit amount required: A room deposit of 50% of total stay guarantees your reservation. Balance is due upon departure.

    • Cancellations: ALL cancellations before 14 days of reservation will receive a full refund of deposit minus a $35.00 cancellation fee. All cancellations made within 14 days of stay will be charged a $50.00 cancellation fee and receive a credit towards a future stay.

      Shortly after entering village of Mathews, you will come to an intersection with a Hardees across the street to the right. Take a right at this intersection to stay on VA 14. After approximately 4 miles, you will reduce speed to 35 mph and enter the village of Port Haywood. You will then see on your right Tatterson’s Greenhouse and Garden Shop, and right after that Woodstock service station. There is a wall that is located right after this service station that blocks your view of Turpin Lane. Carefully take an IMMEDIATE RIGHT TURN right after the wall onto Turpin Lane, between the second and third “No Parking” signs that are posted, and directly across the road from route 608. It is an easy turn to miss, so if you pass it, just take a left at the Post Office on your left, turn around and try again! Once on Turpin lane, it will soon turn into a dirt road. Take the third right at sign for Tabbs Creek, (384 Turpin Lane), and continue to end of the lane. Give us a call with your approximate arrival time, so we can be sure to greet you!.

      Take I-64 West toward Richmond. In Newport News, take exit 250B, Fort Eustis Blvd. toward Yorktown, VA105. Follow VA 105 toward Yorktown until it intersects with US17 and take a left onto US17 North. Go across the York River on the Coleman Bridge, ($2.00 toll), and continue on 17 into Gloucester County. Veer right onto business 17 toward Gloucester Court House and Mathews. At the first light, take a right onto VA 3. Keep going straight as 3 merges with VA 14 and stay on VA 14 into Mathews until you come to a dead end. Take a right to stay on VA 14 and VA 198. From there, Follow directions below from Town of Mathews to Inn.

    It was our first experience with a Bed and Breakfast so we didn't know what to expect. Needless to say, the entire weekend exceeded our expectations. Greg and Lori are wonderful hosts. We felt like we were staying with friends.

    This bed and breakfast is just what you want to see in a B&B. It was exceptional!! Loir and her brother greeted us at the door and showed us around the Inn. We stayed two nights in the Chesapeake Suite. The Inn is quiet and excluded and the breakfast is wonderful. This is a great place to just get away!!!

    Impromptu get-away with the girlfriend, Greg and Lori were great hosts. Amazing property, will be returning for sure. 12 stars out of 10.

    My boyfriend and I stayed at this B&B for New Year's weekend and we fell in love with it. The views are beautiful and the rooms are very modern and well kept. We stayed in the Chesapeake Suite. The inn owners are amazing hosts. It felt like you were going to visit close friends instead of strangers. The breakfast food was amazing, especially the cream cheese french toast. We are already planning our next trip there during the summer so we can enjoy some of the water activities. I will definitely recommend this B&B to all my friends.

    I can not say enough good things about the Inn at Tabbs Creek. If you want a quiet getaway this is the place. We stayed in the Captains room and it was great and had beautiful water views. The breakfasts were fantastic and Greg and Lori were perfect hosts. Highly recommend!!
