$175 third floor room with tiny, Spartan bath down hall with display-only towels (don't use, carry your own from room plus toiletries each trip to wc) whos central air sounds like a 747, tiny impossible to see tv in corner of room without cable that got no major network stations or even CNN (got Islamic and Russian newscast stations), dark and welcoming as a funeral home with most lights turned off, wifi that would not connect, no external facilities save two metal chairs in backyard, difficult to find due to lack of external signs and no street number on web sites, flexible breakfast hours because you fix it yourself from supermarket frozen bread, juice, yogurt, one type of fruit; like staying in a beautifully furnished antique store (which is what it is, complete with price tags on decorations). Grossly inflated prices underscore this one stay only establishment as being run for the owners benefit not the guests. Probably wrote their own glowing reviews. Rooms at less than $175 plus tax and fees are on 4th floor up a ladder. Facilities are extremely well cleaned as is you wallet by your rarely present hosts.

What is more kindly than the feeling between host and guest? If a man be gracious to strangers, it shows that he is a citizen of the world and his heart is no island, cut off from other islands, but a continent that joins them. Sir Francis Bacon I came a boarder and left with new friends. The location is excellent - easy walking distance to restaurants, metro and shopping. There is a Fitness Center on King Street and short distance away where you can join for $30 per week. There are spa’s all along on King Street – so everything you would want from a hotel you can get close by while staying at a wonderful historic home in Alexandria and in the heart of Old Town. The Peake-Fairfax House B&B has ambiance – something you don’t find in any hotel. Wonderful family and house. I thank them for a very nice stay.

This was our first time at a B&B and we couldn't have picked a finer establishment. From the onset of our arrival and greeting to our departure. We were made to feel like family and breakfast was "almost" better than Mom's! The room was beautiful, the bed unbelieveably comfortable and Chet and Dorothy helped to choreograph our visits to area attractions. We are most DEFINITELY coming back and have recommended this B&B to all of our friends and anyone else who will listen. We'll always remember our first time!! Thank you Chet and Dorothy and see you both soon Bob & Debbie

This was a first time experience in a B&B for my husband and I. We were very happy with our stay. Chet and Dorothy were fabulous hosts. The location was very close to everything. We loved it!
