My wife bought us this get away just before Christmas. Christa, made our visit feel like a home away from home. We strolled the 11 acre lot in the mornings after an amazing breakfast, explored the town, or just played games beside a roaring fireplace, evenings were filled with nights beside the fire outside making smores or sharing a glass of wine. I could not ask for more. The rooms and views are absolutely amazing. I would recommend this to anyone who loves the outdoors as much as they love being spoiled and having the better things in life. This was a great balance of the two.

Found this little treasure on the B&B website and took a chance. Totally lived up to previous reviews! Fabulous mountain views, delicious gourmet breakfasts and wonderful service. Christa makes you feel like an old friend without being intrusive, which is really a gift! Highly recommend this gem for a peaceful & romantic getaway near Skyline Drive and Shenandoah National Park. Can't wait to go back this fall!

Breathtaking - both the interior and the views. We were only able to spend one night and now can't wait to come back. Sunset on the patio, overlooking the mountains. The home was spectacular; Christa was a treasure; breakfast - sublime.

Christa, thank you so much for a most wonderful weekend! You were a superb hostess, and made our engagement getaway absolutely unforgettable. Your home and grounds were so well kept, with everything we needed readily available. We particularly enjoyed the engaging conversation and stories that accompanied your wonderful cooking during breakfasts. Your warm and gracious nature made us feel right at home, and we are already discussing when we could come back! Thank you so much for helping us enjoy one of the most important weekends of our lives! Take care, and we hope to see you soon! Eric and Abbey

Christa, thank you again for hosting us this past weekend. Carlos and I had a wonderful time at your place. We couldn't have picked a better spot for our elopement. Thank you for the decorations, for coordinating the ceremony, for the pictures, and for your wonderful company. Even though we run away to get married alone, we felt like if we were with family. We are looking forward to coming back to Once Upon a Mountain really soon. All the best now and always, Ela.

This B&B had the best of everything. The host was amazing which I haven't seen in the many B&B's that I have stayed.

We stayed in the Queen's Suite for one night, and it was the perfect getaway. The setting is beautiful and the innkeeper is wonderful.

This house (and view) were spectacular. The drive up to the B&B was quite an adventure - it sits on the top of a mountain. The view is well worth the journey. The innkeeper was super nice, and her two dogs were awesome. My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We wished we had stayed during a warmer time, when we could enjoy the outside portions of the property more. If you want peace, quiet and relaxation - this is the place to go.
