We loved how local restaurants, wineries and farmers' market were recommended in individualized brochures in our cottage. It was a lovely stay at a beautiful, peaceful setting. I highly recommend this B&B.

It was my husband and I first time at a bed and breakfast. The pictures advertise for our room was exactly the same. The breakfast served each day was too pretty to eat but we did, Each day they served a different breakfast and it was delicious. Yes. My husband and I would stay again. Thank you to the owners making us feel very welcome.

I wanted to try something different for my fiancé's birthday so I began looking for bed and breakfast spots outside of Hampton Roads. I liked what I saw from the website but absolutely LOVED our stay. I chose the Fitzgerald cabin with the Romance package and it was simply breathtaking from the time we opened the door. The staff at BTSOTR really out-did theirselves. From the rose petals on the bed to the soft music as soon as we came in to the large jacuzzi tub, all I can say is BRAVO!! We HIGHLY recommend this bed and breakfast to any couple who wants a romantic getaway.
Hurrah! So glad this birthday celebration was even more than you imagined. We sometimes call Fitzgerald Cottage our "enchanted cottage". Thanks for taking time to share your experience.

My husband and I stayed in the Water Lily Cottage and had a wonderful time. All amenities were provided in the cottage. Our delicious breakfast was delivered to us every morning to our doorstep. The location is within a couple miles of downtown, close enough yet far enough for peace and quiet. We look forward to staying here again when we have another event in Harrisonburg. Thank you Janice and Dennis!!
You are most welcome! We can't wait for your return. Have a great summer!

Looking for a comfy weekend getaway? Stay here!! Conveniently located just a short drive from the center of town and the James Madison University campus. Our room (Ardor of Hope) was spacious and quiet. We enjoyed the gas fireplace at night and by day the room was sunshine happy (thanks to lots of windows). Breakfast - discreetly delivered to your room's door - was super. We will be back!
The highest compliment you can pay us is to return! We're so happy you mention doing so. We, too, love the Ardor for its eastern exposure and morning sunshine! Thanks for taking time to share your experience! Best regards.

My wife and I spent a Friday night/Saturday morning in the 1790 suite on the second floor of the main building. The accommodations were fine and the feather bed was quite comfortable. Breakfast the next morning (waffles/fruit/juice) was brought to our door. Overall, this is a very nice property and we would recommend it to anyone looking to stay at a B&B in the Harrisonburg, VA area.
So kind of your to take the time to review your visit. All three's makes us feel we need to improve. As we said in our thank you note, "if you can't give us a 5-star review", will you let us know what we need to do to get there, in your opinion. We hope you'll return and give us another chance to "wow" you. Best regards...

My husband and I just wanted to get away for a couple of days, somewhere we could drive in under 4 hours. This was a great choice! The room was gorgeous, with wonderful attention to detail. We loved the sherry by the fire, which came with our room. Janice and Dennis where the perfect hosts, as we hardly knew they (or anyone else) were there until we wanted to—they left us to ourselves until we asked questions before we left the Inn about places to visit. The conversation was delightful. Breakfast delivered to our room each morning was just what I needed for privacy and relaxation. We also enjoyed the historical yet active town of Harrisonburg. We walked along the streets and looked at the beautifully restored old homes. Lots of cool places to eat. Loved this little get away.
Wonderful to learn your getaway was just what you were looking for and that Harrisonburg proved a good destination. We hope you'll consider a return visit and look forward to seeing you then!
