The Shires Country Inn is a family owned and operated inn specializing in catering to both large and small groups. We offer 2 and 3 bedroom towhouses that come fully furnished with all of the comforts of home. Each bedroom in our townhouses comes with its own private full bath. In addition to our townhouses we also offer single rooms and two room suites. A delicious continental style breakfast is included with daily rentals and is served in our on-site restaurant, The Shires Cafe and Grill. The Shires is centrally located to both Virginia Tech and Radford University.

The Shires Cafe and Grill offers a large outdoor patio/lawn/gazebo that can be rented for weddings and private parties for up to 75 people. The inn also has two conference rooms and a "honeymoon or couples suite" that features a whirlpool tub and a walk-in shower.

From I-81 take exit 118B towards Blacksburg. Take the Peppers Ferry Road Exit. Keep right - continue through light at main intersection of 460 for about 4 miles to The Shires on the right. Office is located in the restaurant.

From Blacksburg take:
1. Prices Fork Road past campus about 7 miles. Turn left onto Peppers Ferry Road for 1/2 mile. The Shires is on the left.

2. Go towards Christiansburg, turning right onto Peppers Ferry Road at the New River Valley Mall. Go about 4 miles to the Shires on the right.

Go south on I-81 to Exit 118B, towards Blacksburg, Take the Peppers Ferry Road Exit. Keep right, continuing straight through light at 460 intersection, for about 4 miles. The Shires is on the right.
