In town in the late spring and checked out this newly renovated b&b. A short trip west of town, we really enjoyed the access to Charlottesville amenities yes the natural surroundings of forests and farmland. The innkeepers were delightful and super helpful. They clearly knew the area very very well and could help with winery, hiking, and dining suggestions (a little spot called Duner's about a mile away in Ivy was a nice discovery). The breakfast both mornings was very well done - eggs, roasted potatoes, vanilla-cinnamon French toast, bacon, roasted potatoes, PHENOMENAL locally roasted coffee, etc... The decor was classy-casual: elegant, simple, and devoid of clutter and kitsch. Being a small inn, the amount of privacy was great. Plan to come back when in the area in the fall.

The Inn at Oxbow was the perfect getaway from the city. We were greeted in the evenings and the mornings in the formal living room with a roaring fire in the wood burning stove - which we took advantage of until quite late! We enjoyed a hot (and delicious) breakfast was in a well-lit formal dining room (I gave it 4-stars not 5 only because there has to be a star left over for $$$$$ places like Keswick and Clifton!). Our host, Carter, was charming, accommodating, and helpful. One of the nicest parts of the inn was that the layout really provides a great deal of privacy - we were on the ground floor and could not even hear the other guests that weekend (no shared walls, no bedrooms above you!). TVs in each room were a nice touch, but we really didn't use them much. All in all a really lovely place.

Stayed at the Inn at Oxbow Farm in late autumn and couldn't have been happier. The grounds are beautiful (though the beautiful autumn leaves during our stay certainly helped.) The inn is located just west of Charlottesville about 10 minutes to UVA. A single room is very well priced, but the real steals are the two-bedroom suites (if you're traveling with another couple or with family and want to save around $100 per night!). Great breakfast, fresh locally roasted coffee, and a staff that knows everything about the area if you don't and can point you to the best restaurants and vineyards and secret local spots. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we'll be back!

Carter was so nice in helping us arrange our visit and welcoming us at the door with a candle and flashlight! Our rooms were great, so clean and spacious! We loved being country and old fashioned yet having cable tv in each room. :) The breakfast was very tasty and Carter was so nice and talked to us about the history of the house and made sure we were all settled in. I definitely would stay again!

I've visited most of the B&Bs in Charlottesville and although many are outstanding, but none are located so close to town yet so private as this (most are located on fairly busy roads with a fair amount of road noise). The only B&B with a comparably private setting I've stayed at is the Inn at Sugar Hollow, which is about a 30 minute drive from Charlottesville. The Inn at Oxbow Farm is less than ten and yet on a truly quiet country road. Their prices are excellent and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. A great escape from DC.

Great location, private setting, and exceptional value. Suites are available for families or parties of more than two people at half the cost of two individual rooms at most inns.
