The perfect gift for every occasion

  • Designed by noted Charlottesville architect Henderson Heyward, the Inn at Oxbow was built in 1948, largely from lumber cut and sawmilled on the property itself. The Inn underwent significant renovations in 2011-2012 including renovated bathrooms and a metal roof.
Oxbow enjoys long views of Monticello and the Southwest Mountains to the east and the Blue Ridge to the west.
Enjoy coffee in the morning or a glass of local wine in the evening from the front yard overlooking the Ivy Creek valley.
Evenings can be spent in the parlor alongside our wood burning stove.
Guests enjoy breakfast in our cedar paneled den or in the formal dining room at the front of the house.
    Dawn at Oxbow.
Our East Room features a queen bed and is available as a single room with private bath or as part of the two-bedroom North Suite with the additional bedroom having full size bed. All the bedrooms at our Inn have wall-mounted flat-screen televisions.
The West Room is a large room on the second floor of the Inn and is available as a single room with a private bath or as part of the South Suite which comprises the entire top floor of the Inn. The West Room, like all the rooms at the Inn, has a wall-mounted flat screen television, ironing board and iron, and hair dryer.
The North Room is the second bedroom in the North Suite and features a flat screen television and full size bed.

    Cozy country inn!

    March 26, 2013

The Inn at Oxbow was the perfect getaway from the city. We were greeted in the evenings and the mornings in the formal living room with a roaring fire in the wood burning stove - which we took advantage of until quite late! We enjoyed a hot (and delicious) breakfast was in a well-lit formal dining room (I gave it 4-stars not 5 only because there has to be a star left over for $$$$$ places like Keswick and Clifton!). Our host, Carter, was charming, accommodating, and helpful. One of the nicest parts of the inn was that the layout really provides a great deal of privacy - we were on the ground floor and could not even hear the other guests that weekend (no shared walls, no bedrooms above you!). TVs in each room were a nice touch, but we really didn't use them much. All in all a really lovely place.

Beautiful, peaceful inn 5 minutes outside Charlottesville. Great value.

    March 26, 2013

Stayed at the Inn at Oxbow Farm in late autumn and couldn't have been happier. The grounds are beautiful (though the beautiful autumn leaves during our stay certainly helped.) The inn is located just west of Charlottesville about 10 minutes to UVA. A single room is very well priced, but the real steals are the two-bedroom suites (if you're traveling with another couple or with family and want to save around $100 per night!). Great breakfast, fresh locally roasted coffee, and a staff that knows everything about the area if you don't and can point you to the best restaurants and vineyards and secret local spots. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we'll be back!

    Great Place!

    September 20, 2012

Carter was so nice in helping us arrange our visit and welcoming us at the door with a candle and flashlight! Our rooms were great, so clean and spacious! We loved being country and old fashioned yet having cable tv in each room. :) The breakfast was very tasty and Carter was so nice and talked to us about the history of the house and made sure we were all settled in. I definitely would stay again!

Best combination of privacy and location in the Charlottesville area.

    August 16, 2012

I've visited most of the B&Bs in Charlottesville and although many are outstanding, but none are located so close to town yet so private as this (most are located on fairly busy roads with a fair amount of road noise). The only B&B with a comparably private setting I've stayed at is the Inn at Sugar Hollow, which is about a 30 minute drive from Charlottesville. The Inn at Oxbow Farm is less than ten and yet on a truly quiet country road. Their prices are excellent and the surrounding grounds are beautiful. A great escape from DC.

Great location, private setting, and exceptional value. Suites are available for families or parties of more than two people at half the cost of two individual rooms at most inns.
