    Arch Hall, built in 1796, residence of George Washington’s nephew, Lawrence Lewis and his wife, Martha Washington's grandaughter Nellie Custis. This 10 acre estate is situated on Belmont Bay in Fairfax. This historic home has 9 original wood burning fireplaces and offers 5 guest rooms. Formal gardens, antiques throughout, private dock, tennis court. We can also host your wedding or special event. Home to 74 varieties of butterflies & more than a dozen bald eagles. Your stay at Arch Hall Estate lets you experience life as it was lived in colonial times but with all the modern comforts we enjoy today.

From our door Dulles International Airport is easily reached within 45 minutes/35 miles. Washihgton DC, the national monuments and the Smithsonian Museums are all within a 20 minute drive from our door. Mount Vernon, Woodlawn Plantation and Gunston Hall Plantation are all within a few miles for your touring pleasure. Mount Vernon, Woodlawn Plantation and Gunston Hall are all open daily to visitors. You may also enjoy the new Workhouse Arts Center where you can visit the artists’ studios, participate in art classes and workshops, attend musical and theatre performances and visit the gallery to take in the latest exhibitions of local, regional and international artists.

    We spent the most delightful evening and morning at Arch Hall. The Innkeepers are very warm hosts, great conversationalists, and very proud of their home. They were very warm and accommodating. The house is everything we wanted in a B&B. The view of the river is breathtaking.

    Our hosts made us feel at home.The charm and history of the home made our short stay pleasant and interesting. A place to find peace and solitude. Hope to return soon.
