Arch Hall, built in 1796, residence of George Washington’s nephew, Lawrence Lewis and his wife, Martha Washington's grandaughter Nellie Custis. This 10 acre estate is situated on Belmont Bay in Fairfax. This historic home has 9 original wood burning fireplaces and offers 5 guest rooms. Formal gardens, antiques throughout, private dock, tennis court. We can also host your wedding or special event. Home to 74 varieties of butterflies & more than a dozen bald eagles. Mount Vernon, Woodlawn Plantation and Gunston Hall Plantation are all within a few miles for your touring pleasure. Mount Vernon, Woodlawn Plantation and Gunston Hall are all open daily to visitors. You may also enjoy the new Workhouse Arts Center where you can visit the artists’ studios, participate in art classes and workshops, attend musical and theatre performances and visit the gallery to take in the latest exhibitions of local, regional and international artists.
