Beautiful vineyard/farm setting at a spotless well-maintained farmhouse. We thoroughly enjoyed a delicious dinner with wine pairings from the vineyard. We didn't realize Virginia wines were so good! Especially liked the Cabernet Franc and Port-style wines. The staff were extremely helpful and accommodating especially at dinner. We loved the the room as well which was well-appointed and comfortable.

My boyfriend and I stayed for a night in the middle of the week as part of my birthday present. We had the most amazing time. Upon arrival, we were met by the lovely Diane who showed us our room and encouraged us to have a peek at the other guestrooms while they were opened. She was very hospitable and I believed her when she said to ask if we needed anything. We stayed in Derby and were delighted with the room. It was comfortable and cozy and filled with natural light. Drinking coffee and watching the sunrise from the comfort of the bed was a wonderful start to the morning. All the rooms looked comfortable and each had some unique and alluring feature. The common areas were also inviting and I only wished we had more time to enjoy it all.I am out of characters but dining was incredible--both the Farmhouse Dinner and breakfast the next morning. It was our first time at a B&B and we were a little nervous about the social aspects, but Diane was such a wonderful host that we were instantly at ease. I want to say the wine hour ended up being one of my favorite parts, but the truth is, every part was my favorite! The setting is beautiful, the people are wonderful, the house is delightful. My only complaint is that I don't get to spend everyday there!Amenities include: a bottle of Veritas wine, wineglasses, and chocolate truffles in your room upon arrival; plush robes and slippers; custom bath products; freshly baked cookies in the kitchen; complimentary wine hour with amuse bouche

Our 2 night stay at The Farmhouse was absolutely delightful in every way - a great room, great and very friendly service and the food - we travel a great deal and this was amazingly good food. We enjoyed everything about The Farmhouse and look forward to returning in the Fall.

Let me start by saying that I'm not really a B+B person but recently spent two wonderful nights at the Farmhouse. It was so much more than your usual B+B. The food was delicious and the accommodates great. What made the visit so special were all the extra touches. There were several different common areas including beautiful outdoor spaces. The staff was gracious in accommodating our group was different times for eating and last minute changes. Being able to "sit" in the kitchen and interact with the chef (white smelling the wonderful chocolate cookies) was special. The cocktail hour was also very nice and made you feel that you were in a friend's home. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I were celebrating our first anniversary, and we treated both sets of parents to join as a thank-you for the prior year's wedding festivities. We booked the Surrey, Devon, and Cornwall, and all three rooms were unique and charming. When we arrived it was cool and overcast, which made the Farmhouse feel very cozy and intimate. During the welcome hour of wine & hors d'oeuvres the chef had started preparing dinner, which added to the homely atmosphere. Speaking of the dinner... it was delicious and our parents were saying it was one of the best meals they've experienced. The breakfasts were also delicious - we mostly stuck to the savory option but the sweet option sounded great too. The weather when we visited was beautiful, where we enjoyed every meal under the gazebo. It really feels as if you are dining among the vines. For the staff, Chloe was very welcoming, and Leticia was always so sweet and cheery. Both chefs were also personable. The decor, food, and hospitality is top-notch, and we already can't wait to come back next year!

While I seldom endorse a business in print, I am making exception in this instance. My wife and I visited The Farmhouse (http://www.veritasfarmhouse.com/), a B&B outside Charlottesville, Virginia, this past week as part of celebrating her 65th birthday. The venue could not have been more perfect with spacious accommodations, great wine tastings, excellent food, and superb service. Plus, the weather was mild and most enjoyable. The Farmhouse sits on the grounds of Veritas Vineyard, the site of our middle daughter’s wedding in 2010. The staff could not have been more gracious, as was our experience in 2010 and on a subsequent visit last year. While I am by no means a wine connoisseur, the different selections of wine that I tasted were delightful. I will leave it to a greater authority to talk about the myriad of oaky, fruity tastes, and more. I just know that I loved the ambiance, wine, food, and service! The grounds surrounding the vineyard and The Farmhouse are impeccable, with a touch of English gardening that draws from the heritage of the couple, which owns the business. They migrated to the United States many years ago; and it is today a true family business with three children and other relatives active in the management. All in all, the activities, with a tour of the vineyard’s wine processing during the harvest, tastings, a picnic lunch, and the Ploughman’s Dinner served at The Farmhouse in an outside gazebo, as but one choice of seating, made for a wonderful visit. And to top it off, all was followed up with a sumptuous breakfast the morning of our departure. The experience made for a grand birthday remembrance. If you are passing through central Virginia, consider staying at least one night at The Farmhouse, and reward yourself for a good, productive life with some excellent wine and all that accompanies a few glasses. The Farmhouse is the best B&B I have ever visited.

We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts over the years. The Farmhouse is a new favorite of ours. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms were fantastic, and the food and service were both amazing. The minute my husband and I stepped out of our car, we felt an immediate sense of peace and tranquility. The view of the vineyards and the mountains were amazing, and the outside dining was a perfect way to both start and end our day. We can't wait to stay at The Farmhouse again!
