Let me start by saying that I'm not really a B+B person but recently spent two wonderful nights at the Farmhouse. It was so much more than your usual B+B. The food was delicious and the accommodates great. What made the visit so special were all the extra touches. There were several different common areas including beautiful outdoor spaces. The staff was gracious in accommodating our group was different times for eating and last minute changes. Being able to "sit" in the kitchen and interact with the chef (white smelling the wonderful chocolate cookies) was special. The cocktail hour was also very nice and made you feel that you were in a friend's home. We will definitely be back.

My husband and I were celebrating our first anniversary, and we treated both sets of parents to join as a thank-you for the prior year's wedding festivities. We booked the Surrey, Devon, and Cornwall, and all three rooms were unique and charming. When we arrived it was cool and overcast, which made the Farmhouse feel very cozy and intimate. During the welcome hour of wine & hors d'oeuvres the chef had started preparing dinner, which added to the homely atmosphere. Speaking of the dinner... it was delicious and our parents were saying it was one of the best meals they've experienced. The breakfasts were also delicious - we mostly stuck to the savory option but the sweet option sounded great too. The weather when we visited was beautiful, where we enjoyed every meal under the gazebo. It really feels as if you are dining among the vines. For the staff, Chloe was very welcoming, and Leticia was always so sweet and cheery. Both chefs were also personable. The decor, food, and hospitality is top-notch, and we already can't wait to come back next year!

While I seldom endorse a business in print, I am making exception in this instance. My wife and I visited The Farmhouse (http://www.veritasfarmhouse.com/), a B&B outside Charlottesville, Virginia, this past week as part of celebrating her 65th birthday. The venue could not have been more perfect with spacious accommodations, great wine tastings, excellent food, and superb service. Plus, the weather was mild and most enjoyable. The Farmhouse sits on the grounds of Veritas Vineyard, the site of our middle daughter’s wedding in 2010. The staff could not have been more gracious, as was our experience in 2010 and on a subsequent visit last year. While I am by no means a wine connoisseur, the different selections of wine that I tasted were delightful. I will leave it to a greater authority to talk about the myriad of oaky, fruity tastes, and more. I just know that I loved the ambiance, wine, food, and service! The grounds surrounding the vineyard and The Farmhouse are impeccable, with a touch of English gardening that draws from the heritage of the couple, which owns the business. They migrated to the United States many years ago; and it is today a true family business with three children and other relatives active in the management. All in all, the activities, with a tour of the vineyard’s wine processing during the harvest, tastings, a picnic lunch, and the Ploughman’s Dinner served at The Farmhouse in an outside gazebo, as but one choice of seating, made for a wonderful visit. And to top it off, all was followed up with a sumptuous breakfast the morning of our departure. The experience made for a grand birthday remembrance. If you are passing through central Virginia, consider staying at least one night at The Farmhouse, and reward yourself for a good, productive life with some excellent wine and all that accompanies a few glasses. The Farmhouse is the best B&B I have ever visited.

We have stayed at many bed and breakfasts over the years. The Farmhouse is a new favorite of ours. The grounds were beautiful, the rooms were fantastic, and the food and service were both amazing. The minute my husband and I stepped out of our car, we felt an immediate sense of peace and tranquility. The view of the vineyards and the mountains were amazing, and the outside dining was a perfect way to both start and end our day. We can't wait to stay at The Farmhouse again!

We've stayed here for our third time in as many years and it continues to get better! My most simply description of "The Farmhouse" is rural setting with linen service. The Hodson family, the owners/developers of Veritas, welcome you to share their family affair with the grapes, livestock, mountains and fine dinning. The "thing" that puts "The Farmhouse" in an outstanding class is their refined attention to detail and catering to ones needs. If you've not stayed here, you should do it.

This was our first stay at The Farmhouse at Veritas, and we thoroughly enjoyed everything about it. The grounds are beautiful, and the house is equipped with all modern comforts yet classic and historic in the decor. The staff was attentive and gracious in every way, and we look forward to returning.

I really don't know what to say that hasn't already been said... Simply put it is only 100 yards from the main drive into the winery, but that 100 yards transports you to a totally stress free, relaxed and friendly escape from reality. Chloe and the rest of the staff, work tirelessly behind the scenes to make it virtually impossible to have anything but a wonderful and memorable experience. The wine is arguably the best in Virginia and food at The Farmhouse is incredable. The rooms are comfortable and make you forget that you will eventually will have to leave, even though you will not want to. I've stayed there twice, and am already planning when I will return. Best of the best!

WOW....a perfect stay from start to finish! What an incredible experience from Jose and Leticia's warm and genuine welcome to the fond farewell! We went to the Veritas Winery four years ago and absolutely loved it. We were so happy to learn they had opened an Inn and we would be able to enjoy their lovely vista for a breakfast and dinner! The rooms are beautifully and thoughtfully appointed, including a wonderful welcome bottle of Chardonnay and a festive "wine" hour with the other guests. We are so glad we decided to take advantage of Chef Andy's Farmhouse dinner paired with wines from the vineyard. It was delightful and we loved getting to know the other guests who were mostly from Virginia. The property is nicely situated about 20-30 minutes from Charlottesville and an easy ride to other great vineyards and historical attractions. We stayed at 6 inns during our Virginia getaway and, by far, this was our favorite. You can't go wrong.....we will be back, for sure!!!! Wendy and Tom Florida

From the moment we walked in the home the smell of fresh baked cookies filled the air. Greeted by a friendly staff, we were provided a tour of the home which is decorated very tastefully. I felt like royalty as I walked the halls and then saw our room AMAZING! A bottle of the signature wine awaited us in the room and the weather was perfect. It was only a short stroll past the vineyards to the winery where we taste tested and purchased some more local wine. The food was amazing and I felt It was more artwork than something to eat. I wanted to frame it of display it on a pedestal as it was so appealing to the eye but more so, tasted fantastic! I highly recommend a visit to The Farmhouse at Veritas, I know I will be back!

First, it is on the BEST winery in VA, which is not an easy accomplishment. Second, the staff (from Chloe to Leticia) are gifted and focused on making your personal experience the best it can be. Third, the FOOD IS INCREDIBLE. Period. Breakfast and Dinner are always a pleasant adventure. Fourth, each room is unique and elegant while making you feel like you are the only guest at the Farmhouse. The overall experience is classic, understated, rich and very, very personal. We have stayed three times and each time the Farmhouse has deepened the offerings while maintaining the "British Family" atmosphere that makes it our very favorite home away from home. We'll be back every year, FOREVER!
