My husband and I recently stayed a night at this wonderful B&B. We were greeted by Dan who was very pleasant and gave us a tour of their delightful B&B. What a great mix of the modern and antique! Internet radio and very comfortable beds mixed with the air of the past made for a unique and relaxing experience. The area they are located is a great part of the VA wine country. We greatly enjoyed our wine purchase while sitting in the front yard. Orquida was an attentive host during the delicious breakfast including locally procured sausage. The environmentally conscious will appreciate many of their touches as well. We can't wait to come back for a longer trip!

As former UVA students, my wife and I got married in the Charlottesville area. We decided to make a trip back for our anniversary, and we could not have been happier with our selection of Afton Mountain Bed & Breakfast! The hosts were warm and gracious, and we loved being located right on Route 151 in the heart of Albemarle / Nelson County's wine county. All the amenities of a hotel, plus the charm of a bed and breakfast.

The time that my wife and I stayed at the Afton Mountain Bed and Breakfast was a well deserved break from our daily routine. The atmosphere was pleasant, the scenery magnificient and the actual Bed and Breakfast was amazing! From the owners (Mr. and Mrs. Ingraham) with their extremely helpful demeanor were only outdone by the prestine grounds and home that we stayed in during our stay. The breakfasts were exquisite and original, much more than what we expected. Their knowledge of the local restuarants and wineries proved invaluable day after day. We were able to plan our schedules and still have them fluid enough to relax and enjoy the moment. My wife and I felt welcome from the moment we entered the building and were sad when it was time to depart. I would highly recommend paying a visit at this Bed and Breakfast as much as possible.

From the moment my wife and I arrived we had the feeling that this guesthouse would be a relaxing and comfortable visit. We were not disappointed and in retrospect would like to have stayed more than a single night. Orquida and Dan were both charming and hospitable to a fault offering friendly advice and providing excellent accommodation and a high standard of service throughout our stay. The room was well presented lacking only added luxury of a TV which actually improved the calmness and quietude of the place. And then there was the breakfast! From the refreshing fruitjuice to the wonderful waffles and ice-cream this was a culinary tour de force and guaranteed to set you up for the day ahead. Finally I must just include a last comment on the quirky yet totally neat red British phone booth which stands proudly on the approach drive to this beautiful character property and its worthy owners. Do yourself a favour.......go check it out and enjoy.

Our 3 night stay at the Afton Mountain B&B was wonderful. Clean room, very comfy pillows, sheets and towels, environmentally friendly recycling and updated toilet, healthy breakfast (was a bit hungry still on the 3rd day though), extra amenities such as cookies, ice, tea, sodas, misc items in the room. Shower was a bit small but that was fine with plenty of hot water. Ceiling fan and window AC combined to drown out any noise on highway outside driveway. Watch out when pulling out onto the highway though. View on your left is a bit obscure and blocked. You don't see trucks screaming down the road until they are practically on top of you, which made it a bit nerve-wracking. Need to keep those bushes trimmed way back for easy traffic viewing and safety. Very responsive and welcoming hosts when you approach them; otherwise they keep to themselves. Didn't get to use the pool, to our chagrin. We were happy with our stay there and most likely will return again.

I have limited experience with bed and breakfasts, but the Ingrahams definitely made this weekend positive for me. I had a mishap in the area and broke my ankle, and Orquida could not have been nicer or more attentive. It's a beautiful home in a beautiful location. The food was amazing!

Very comfortable home, warm and friendly hosts (Orquida and Dan). Old home, but in great condition. Nice outdoor pool. Quiet surroundings with nice yard. Close to BlueRidge Pkwy and Skyline Drive entrance. Several wineries and breweries nearby. Good breakfasts staggered so that everyone is not at breakfast at the same time. Allowed for easy communications between guests.

We moved to Central Virginia from near Washington, DC in the Summer of 2002. We immediately fell in love with this area, and are constantly delighted by the sights, the activities and the friendliness of the people. We hope you'll enjoy the area as much as we do.
