Nestled in a natural hollow of the canyon foothills, The Log Cabin on the Hill is minutes from every major Salt Lake ski resort and area attraction. The exterior remains a quaint and historical log cabin hand built by the founder and legendary ski teacher of Alta Ski Resort, Alf Engen, with the help of his brothers and a friend at the end of WW II. Mature landscape provides a natural setting for our rustic atmosphere but when you enter the doorway of The Log Cabin on the Hill you will find a warm welcome with all the comforts of today.

All rooms are decorated and serviced for your relaxation with down-filled comforters, terryrobes, fresh flowers, and private baths. During a stay our guests often gather in front of the fireplace to mingle or curl up with a good book before soaking in the hot tub under the stars.

Mornings at The Log Cabin on the Hill begins with a hearty, sumptuous full breakfast offering homemade granola, variety of fresh baked muffins and season specialties.
