The Mansion at Noble Lane, a boutique resort and spa in the lake region of Northeast Pennsylvania’s mountains, invites you to relax, renew and rejoice. Located on 22 lush acres, the opulent, 25,000-square-foot Gilded Age mansion was once a private estate belonging to the founders of the F.W. Woolworth Corp.– now it’s your exclusive escape. Just a two-hour drive from New York City and a few minutes more from Philadelphia, Noble Lane is one of a handful of East Coast historic mansions open for the public to stay and enjoy. With 14 unique guestrooms, the Mansion at Noble Lane is intimate enough for personalized service, yet everything you need is right on premises. Unwind at You-Topia, our seven-treatment-room spa; savor teas and treats at Leaves, our private, glassed-in tearoom; refresh with a smoothie at Ripe, our fun fruit bar; take a healthy cooking class in our demo kitchen; or awaken mind, body and spirit in our 10,000-square-foot recreational facility, complete with a state-of-the-art gym, yoga/Pilates/dance studio and an Olympic-sized heated swimming pool. Rounding out the offerings are tennis, volleyball and basketball courts, along with breathtaking outdoor spaces—a formal English garden, covered porches, a secret stone arbor and a private lake. You can do as much as you like or as little. The Mansion at Noble Lane is perfect for spa vacations, couples rendezvous, girlfriend getaways, corporate and church retreats, and private celebrations, especially fantasy weddings for the indie bride.

A group of us got together to surprise our wives with a weekend away at Akwaaba, the Mansion at Noble Lanes. The goal was to surprise the women with an experience they will remember for a lifetime, but at the end of the trip, all of us were able to receive an experience we had not expected. The staff was welcoming and helped me to personally pull the wool over my wife’s eyes. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and accommodating. In many establishments the owner is there to welcome you and that is it, in this situation however, Monique the owner was involved in our entire experience. She was hands on in ensuring our weekend was an amazing one. During breakfast on our final day, Monique sat down with the guests and told us about the luscious history of the Mansion at Noble Lanes. Her story was captivating and it motivated us to persevere even when things are not in our control. As one of four locations listed under the Akwaaba name, this BNB was huge. It had everything from an indoor pool, to a gym, to a game room. This location had everything you could ever need in a BNB. From morning to night there were activities planned for us to take advantage of. Our room was located on a secluded side of the building providing us with a lot of privacy, but we failed to take advantage of it because we were rarely in our room. There were so many things to do we did not have to leave the property for anything and that was great. We took a free yoga class, provided our wives with spas, and took a group cooking class, which was my personal highlight. I have been to a few BNBs before but nothing was close to this experience. Our group of ten decided we would return annually to bask in the Akwaaba experience. Next year Akwaaba at Cape May, we cannot wait.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for a full weekend in October 2013, and we both enjoyed our stay. The mansion itself is located on a beautiful property, but just wait until you see the inside. The kitchen, balcony, and pool areas (which is enormous and much bigger than the pictures suggest, by the way) are both decorated with handpainted tiles imported from Italy; it really adds to the Mansion's beauty/uniqueness. Jessica and Janet, the Mansion's two housekeepers, both catered to our every whim at all hours of the night; I can honestly say we were spoiled by room service. Monique, the innkeeper, also put forth a great effort to involve guests (which we liked). For instance, on the first Friday night we were there, Monique brought out some champagne and invited everyone for board games and conversations to the firepit out back. It was a nice touch, though I understand some couples or families might not be interested in getting to know any of the other guests. If I absolutely had to come up with a "complaint," the wi-fi service at the hotel is really spotty; understandably so, because the hotel itself is in a forested, secluded area. However, we didn't go on vacation to browse the internet, so this wasn't much of a problem at all.

The Mansion at Noble Lane recently hosted my friend's wedding. Everything from the grounds to the mansion to the views was just spectacular. The rooms are elegant, spacious and beautifully decorated. The old world charm of this magnificent restoration serves the best of both worlds combining the elegance of days gone by with the luxury of modern conveniences. And after the dancing was over what a delight to snuggle into that amazingly comfortable bed! I heartily recommend The Mansion at Noble Lane whether you are escaping for a weekend or looking for a truly unique and wonderful experience for a wedding!

Our stay was so amazing that we didn’t want to leave. Perhaps we can contribute it to the wonderful ambience, your great hostess skills, wonderful housekeeping by Jessica, or the scrumptious meals prepared by the kitchen magician? It’s kind of hard to choose just one, so I will just say this – we’ll do it again. We landed in Bethany, PA - 8 women - weary and in need of some TLC, and left as 8 totally satisfied sistahs! Our jaws dropped the moment we turned onto the property. It was something out of “Gone with the Wind.” We didn’t want the tree-lined pathway to ever stop. Having travelled from New Jersey, New York and Connecticut we looked forward to this for months and it was worth the trip. Here’s to the start of something good!!
