Benjamin Young of the Scandinavian Packing Company built this Victorian mansion in 1888. The house features spacious rooms with private baths and outstanding views of the Columbia river. A bountiful breakfast is served in the dining room overlooking the river. The East Marina is a short walk where you can see the sealions.

    Special place in our hearts!

    January 03, 2013

What a unique and historic home with a wonderful hostess! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Benjamin Young Inn and its age and charm were a huge plus. The accommodations were simply what we were looking for (tidy room, welcoming atmosphere, antique decor), and Carolyn's amazing cooking was delicious. We enjoy history and antiquity, especially in a home built in 1888! Reading about the house and Astoria's history helped up to appreciate our opportunity to stay here even more. Minnie, the cat, was a total darling too. We enjoyed sharing some scratches behind the ears with a little purring gratitude for the attention. Will be back next year!

    Wonderful, historical home!

    January 02, 2013

My husband and I wound up being the only guests for the night and thoroughly enjoyed spending our evening reading up on the history of the house and Astoria. We stayed in the Rose room and had a peaceful night's sleep with the unique addition of sea lion serenades from the harbor. Carolyn was a wonderful hostess and the breakfast was amazing. She sat down afterwards and we shared in a wonderful conversation with her over coffee. Anyone who appreciates the history and charm that comes with the age of this home should find their stay intriguing and unique. Will be back, gladly.
