Second verse, even better than the first

5 on July 22, 2015

My wife and I spent another weekend at Craig Place, but in a different room this year. As much as we loved the first room, the second was even better. Another difference was the addition of some staff, but the overall experience was unchanged, which is to say excellent. And the breakfast? Delicious isn't a kind enough word. They were incredible. Oh yeah, we will be back. There's no doubt about it.

Excellent, highly recommend . . . only one small issue

Really loved this place: The great food (and the delivery options), the couple who own/run the operation, the study/resource room, the ambiance, and the out-of-the touristy area location. A+ on these points above. Only heads-up is that when a wedding is being held on the property, the other guests of the Inn will be "encouraged" to avoid the premises so as to not disrupt the ceremony. OK, we can respect that. In fact we were told in advance that we would not be able to access our car during a period of the afternoon when the wedding was being held in the courtyard. Again, totally fine. But my family was having a family reunion at a restaurant right on the same block. (This is in fact why I chose this B&B.) And after we had lunch there, I wanted my mom, dad, and three other family members to come up to our room and present father's day gifts to them. Long story short, when we walked from the restaurant back to the Inn, we were made to feel as if we were interrupting a private event. Hey, I totally respect that they "protect" the wedding party. But we were not going in the courtyard or in any "public" areas of the house. We just wanted to go to our room. And my relatives are boring lawyers and professors, not biker gang members. We were not a loud bunch. But we sure were discouraged from entering. I might suggest that the owners implement a policy that simply forbids guests from entering the premises during times of a wedding ceremony - and that this stipulation/requirement is announced within their reservation policies. That way the other guests of the Inn (who have nothing to do with the wedding) will know in advance to make other arrangements. And if people are not comfortable with being temporarily persona non grata for a room they pay for, that is their choice to make. This would help to prevent awkward interactions. Overall grade: A/A-.

Wonderful Stay At The Inn At Craig Place

5 on June 05, 2015

The wife and I were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and we could not have chosen a better place to get away and be pampered! Kelly and Greg made us feel right at home and like we were special. Can't wait to do it again! Thanks a bunch!

A very enjoyable place to visit

My wife and I spent a few days at Craig Place and enjoyed our stay very much. The room accommodation was charming and very comfortable, and we enjoyed having access to the outdoor balcony and indoor library for leisurely breakfasts or coffee breaks. Out hosts were congenial and the meals were delicious. The Buena Vista neighbourhood has charming resident architecture, and the nearby restaurants are convenient and first-rate. We would gladly revisit this BandB.

Charming & Romantic

My husband & I stayed for one night & wish we could have stayed longer. Everything was perfect! We purchased a Romance package & were very satisfied. Rose petals on the bed, breakfast on their calming & beautiful balcony, hot tub in the room, on & on with so many extras. It's easy to become spoiled. Highly recommend!

Awesome getaway!

We stayed there to celebrate both our birthdays as well as our 6th year wedding anniversary. Greg was awesome. It was a beautiful old historic home with all of the charm you could ask for. The breakfast was good but I am a very simple person and the food was definitely gourmet. It was a wonderful experience for the first time and the location was awesome.

The Inn at Craig Place is a hidden San Antonio secret. We have lived in San Antonio for 2 years and didn't know it existed. I stumbled upon it on a random internet search. It was the best decision I made to book here! My wife and I had a romantic evening with rose pedals scattered in the extra cozy, well out room, chilled champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and the silkiest red roses. The breakfast in the morning was incredible, all the way down to the sugar rimmed glass of orange juice! I highly recommend Inn at Craig Place. If you are on the fence or have other options in mind, I hope this review helps you decide. The cherry on top is how friendly and helpful the operators of the inn are. Thank you!

Attention to detail with everything.....

Great Place

This is a great place to stay while you are in San Antonio. It is close to everything. The owner was great and met us at the door. The neighborhood is quiet. The breakfast was outstanding. We were able to eat out on the porch and it was beautiful. Just any overall great place to stay.
