Rod and Sheryl are delightful people and gracious hosts! Rod FAR exceeds expectations with his culinary expertise at breakfast while Sheryl acts as a an engaging, intelligent and entertaining hostess! The rooms, which were decorated by Sheryl, show great attention to detail and meet their guests' needs by providing luxury, beauty and comfort. Peggy Schmidt Houston, Texas

Very disappointed in how the owners handled a problem/complaint I had. Bad business practices happening here. I would NOT recommend this B&B to anyone -- lots of other great options in Salado. Go elsewhere!

Just stayed at the Baines House for the first time and it won't be the last. Before leaving I made reservations for my next visit. Stayed in George's room and it was well decorated and restful. Rooms are spread out between 3 different buildings or cabins. Breakfast was good and I loved having dessert after breakfast. The owners were very friendly and inviting. I just wish it had not been so hot that I could not really enjoy the spacious and shaded out door areas. I highly recommend this place.

Charming if you like hoard decor, helicopter hosts, bed pillows with spiders (on 3 different occasions) and a scant breakfast at best. There wasn't so much as a hook to hang clothes or a place to set a suitcase unless you threw the many old, stale, decorative pillows from the sofa onto the floor. The cabins are filled with so much garage sale junk, there wasn't even room to put a tube of lipstick in the bathroom. As for the one meal of the day they were to provide, I saw nothing hearty, tasty or homemade about it. I understand the concept of cabins and the country, but this was disappointing. Next time, I'll pass this one by and go on down the road.

Beautiful grounds and places to sit. Tea time during the afternoon with self-serve cookies, tea, wine or coffee. We love the tiny charming chapel! We've stayed several times. All of the rooms are wonderfully decorated and stocked with everything you need! (mini-fridge with free cokes and water, plates, silverware, napkins, glasses) The rooms are supplied with games, interesting books and cd players. We love the private check in! You find your name, key, and map of the grounds with instructions if you need anything outside in a cabinet by the chapel! Breakfast is always delicious and large! The Baines couple is very friendly and outgoing! We love this place and have been returning for 5 years. Highly recommended!
