    Great place, great people!

    February 18, 2013

Nestled away on a ranch in a wooded area. Oak Grove Manor is great place to relax and "wine" down. Only minutes away from Los Pinos Vineyard we found ourselves really enjoying our short stay at the Manor. My girlfriend and I stayed in the Sam Houston Suite, which is located on the top level of the manor. The views from on high were incredible and service we received was exceptional. Paula sure can cook! I really want to stress how great of people Jim and Paula are. During our stay some really severe thunderstorms with forecasted hail (large) were due to roll in during the middle of the night. I alerted the Archer's of my concern and within minutes they had moved items around their facility to accommodate for our vehicles safety and our peace of mind. These are the types of people you can really appreciate. Came in as a stranger and left as a friend. What a great experience. Thank you Jim and Paula! We will be back!

    Wonderful Bed and Breakfast

    November 04, 2012

My husband and I spent a long weekend the first week in November staying in the Sam Houston Suite. The accommodations couldn’t have been better. The suite was incredibly spacious with a comfortable king bed and an adjacent sitting room. We were given the option of a full breakfast but instead chose the continental breakfast (saved $s and the coffee, pastry and juice were perfect). Paula and Jim Archer couldn’t have been nicer. Jim gave us a tour around the ranch. We loved the experience. There are two lakes on the property so my husband enjoyed fishing. In addition to enjoying the ranch experience, we realized, went to the near-by winery and did some shopping in town. I plan on taking my 80 year old father back this spring. There is a smaller suite down the hall. The two suites will be perfect for us and are a good value. A true 5 Star B&B experience.

    Great Getaway

    October 27, 2012

Fantastic ranch built by Jim and Paula. They are the most friendly people and really seem to love having guests. We stayed at the treehouse and loved it. It is not large but plenty spacious for two--and it felt cosy and romantic. We fished in one of the lakes and relaxed. Jim took us on a great tour of the ranch and Paula told us about the animals. The cows were having calves, and the goats were great fun to watch. We looked inside the other two cabins--the larger one is new and has lots of light and high ceilings. The "smaller" one is still quite large and has more of a feel of an older ranch house. Bothe are on their own lakes. The smaller house is back in the woods and has an especially "out on your own" feel. The larger house is nearer some of the farm outbuildings. Both are very nice, but a bit different from each other. If just two of you, take the treehouse. The main house has two B&B rooms, but we did not see them. No breakfast in teh houses and treehouse, but good kitchen--and Paula will sell you fresh free range chicken eggs for breakfast! There is a gass grill by the lake--we had a great rib eye steak from Brookshire Grocery in Pittsburg and some great wine. Perfect. We will be back.

    Just wonderful!

    June 23, 2012

Lovely place to unwind and get away. Our family stayed here for a family reunion in the area. It was a great home away from home. The amenities are wonderful. Farm Animals, fishing, canoes, fire pit for smore! All the amenities inside the cottage are well thought of--there was not anything we lacked. Paula and Jim are very friendly and I enjoyed their history with a property. Will definitely return if we have the opportunity again. Thanks Jim & Paula.

What a Great Place to Stay

    May 06, 2012

This year we had the opportunity to stay in the brand new Lakeside Cottage. It is spacious, very clean and comfortable. The ranch is great for those who appreciate the outdoors, like to explore the surrounding small towns for casual fine dining , look for bargin antiques or just quietly relax and let your cares fly away. We have been coming to the ranch for five years now. We would not even consider going anywhere else because the place has it all. Ed and Bonnie

    A wonderful "get-away"

    January 08, 2012

We have stayed at the "Treehouse" on 3 seperate occasions, and each time was a wonderful, relaxing experience. Jim and Paula are gracious hosts, and the room was spotless. Their grounds are inviting.....there are several lakes/ponds available if you like to fish, or just wander the trails for a relaxing walk (we even went out one night for a midnight walk, and the stars were gorgeous!) The Treehouse does not have breakfast service, so be prepared to bring your own food. There are numerous restaurants in the area, and antique shopping galore. Paula always seems to know the latest "in-place" to go for that special meal! The Treehouse: get away, relax, enjoy!!
