Unique to Fredericksburg, Das Garten Haus is a true, traditional Bed and Breakfast only 1/2 mile from downtown. Lynn and Kevin live on site in the main residence and operate the inn. Lynn serves a full breakfast every morning in the dining room, utilizing fresh herbs and vegetables from their garden. Lynn and Kevin are also excellent concierges of the Hill Country, present to answer your questions, make dinner reservations, provide maps, directions, short-cuts, and parking tips. They look forward to welcoming you to their Garden House. "Our years in the B&B business have brought us the finest of customers, and we strive to be the finest of hosts." All suites are equipped with signature toiletries, hair dryers, irons and ironing boards, cable television, alarm clocks, and wireless internet. Coffee makers, microwaves, and refrigerators are provided in all the kitchenettes. Literature about Fredericksburg and the surrounding Hill Country area is available in the rooms, along with maps, dining details, and live entertainment schedules. Anything you can't find, Lynn and Kevin will be happy to help you with. As well-established innkeepers, they are knowledgeable guides of the Hill Country and its many attractions. Now open! Das Garten Haus Guesthouse! In January 2014, Lynn and Kevin purchased the property next door and have spent the year renovating it. This 3 bedroom, 2 bath property sleeps up to seven guests. While breakfast is not served here, Lynn brings in homemade breads, muffins, or coffee cake for your enjoyment, at your own breakfast time. All the amenities are the same, and Lynn and Kevin are right next door for any help you may need.

Das Garten Haus was the perfect place for our first anniversary weekend. The location was fantastic for shopping and dining on Main Street and was an easy drive to the many wineries in the hill country. The breakfasts each morning were delicious, and the rooms were very spacious and comfortable. We will absolutely stay there during our next trip to Fredericksburg.

I went with 3 girlfriends to see the Christmas lights and sights, do a little shopping and eat German food. We stayed in the upstairs 2 BR, 1 bath, kitchen and LR apartment. It was a great stay for us. The place was very clean and welcoming. Lynn was a wonderful hostess. It was very well situated, being close to Main Street.

The memories came flooding back....I grew up in this kind of setting. Starting from the setting of the home/gardens/patio living to the suite which was a perfect picture to the oatmeal cookies waiting for us and fresh flowers on the table to the gas fireplace warming the room (it was cloudy and very cold that day....first frost that they had....which was unusual for that time of year...to the views from our balconies to meeting Lynn and Kevin and chatting with them. They were so kind and so helpful with questions about the area. I had never been to Fredericksburg before. The breakfast was delightful and her cookbook turned out to be a gem. A wonderful time was had by all (brother and sister in law). Will be going back in 6 months when we can enjoy the garden and flowers!!!!

This was our first stay at Das Garten Haus, but will not be our last! Friendly Inn Keeper, Lynn, met us in the driveway upon our arrival. Privacy, comfy bed, nice sitting area, and amazing full breakfast was exactly what we wanted. We'll be back!

My husband and I were in Fredericksburg to celebrate a friend's wedding, it was my first time in the city. We always try to stay at B&Bs rather than a hotel. Not only is Das Garten Haus fun to say in a fake German accent, it was excellent accommodations. It is about a 2 minute drive to Main Street (we would have walked but it was raining), and a very quiet and comfortable place. We stayed in the cottage with a private entrance which made coming/going easier- didn't have to worry about waking anyone up! The bed was amazing, very comfortable sheets, large king sized bed. My husband is a tall man so it's rare we find a bed big enough for him! Although we didn't spend too much time there, the cottage has a microwave, minifridge with juice, sodas and water, as well as a coffee maker with tea, coffee and hot chocolate available. Everything was clean and fresh; bathroom had fluffy towels and great smelling locally made soap. The food was excellent, not the typical heavy breakfast items. We enjoyed fresh fruits and french toast the first morning, then baked pears and quiche the second. If we ever make it back to Fredericksburg, we would definitely stay here again!

Lynn is a wonderful host and the breakfasts were amazing! Even though it is the summer in Texas, we were able to enjoy the delightful gardens.

We had a fantastic time! We enjoyed sitting in the garden and looking at all the beautiful plants and the fish pond. I loved the fact that the vegetables they used came from their garden and the eggs came from their hens. This helps makes the breakfast so delicious, plus Lynn is a fantastic cook! The hospitality, atmosphere, and food were all excellent. You can't go wrong staying here!
