Casa Portagioia is an elegant yet relaxed country retreat in Tuscany – somewhere between a country hotel and your best friend’s home. Casa Portagioia offers 5 independent guest bedrooms and 2 suite apartments, all with luxury bathrooms. Four of the bedrooms and both apartments benefit from air-conditioning. Our accommodations are fresh and inviting. For a Tuscan country B&B you’ll find everything ‘just so’ from our comfortable orthopaedic beds to the modern bright bathrooms to the lovely views of the gardens and surrounding Tuscan hillside.
Breakfast can be quite a perilous activity. You might find yourself sitting on our terraces for hours on end – taking in the views, sipping a fresh cappuccino when you had planned to be on the road discovering more than just our beautiful valley – such is the relaxed style at Casa Portagioia
You might also be at Casa Portagioia for one of our dinner parties. During the summer these take place on one of our terraces overlooking the bucolic splendour of the valley. A five-course feast is served – and you might like to try some of Tuscany’s finest and award winning wines from our cellar.

By Car: from Rome (head North)or Florence (head South) using the Highway A1 and take the exit for "Monte San Savino". (You may wish to set your trip meter at this point). After paying the toll charges, at the main road turn right heading for "Castiglion Fiorentino" (SP39). Follow the signs for "Castiglion Fiorentino". At the "T" junction (4.4km), turn left towards "Castiglion Fiorentino". At the traffic lights (5km), go straight on and follow the road towards "Castiglion Fiorentino". After entry to "Castiglion Fiorentino" passed the CoOp market on your right(14.4kms) at the “T” junction, turn right towards "Cortona". At the third set of traffic lights (16.1km) (past the AGIP petrol station on right and just before a Q8 petrol station on the left), turn left heading towards "Polvano". Then take the second turning (17.7km) on the right (by the church) signed "Pieve Di Chio". After reaching "Pieve Di Chio" (22.5km), continue driving for about 700 meters you will see 2 large pine trees on the right and after these, a small bridge, our entrance is just on the bridge to the right. Continue along the road and bear left following the cypress tree lined road toward the house and car park. - Nearest major airport: Florence, Italy (FLR-Peretola) 36 miles

Note, the nearest airports are Florence, Rome and Pisa. Most guest use Rome! Policies - Minimum stay required (2 nights guest bedrooms and 3 nights for the apartment suites)

- Cancellations:
In the unfortunate event that you are unable to keep your booking for any reason, we shall return your deposit (or complete payment) in full provided you notify us in writing within 60 days of your proposed stay. Where notification of cancellation is received within less than 60 days prior to your stay, our policy is to make the following charges: 30 – 59 days 25% of the total cost, for cancellations received between 22 and 29 days 50% of the total cost and from 0 – 21 days 100% of the total cost stay. - Accepted by the following agencies:
