Built by lumber and ice baron, Albert Lewis in 1886 it has been refurbished by the Von Dran/Eglish families for almost four decades. A large collection of antiques makes this English Tudor Manor House a unique experience when one stops to celebrate a memorable moment. Anyone with an interest in history will love dining in the Presidential Dining Room, which in its past, has hosted Theodore Roosevelt, William Howard Taft, and Sikorsky. Sleeping in the Roosevelt Bed is also a historic treat, as it is almost a twin to the Lincoln Bed in the White House. Bischwind's rooms and suites have fireplaces, private baths, and three with jacuzzi whirlpool tubs, not to mention our library and common rooms complete with crackling fires, executive seating, and terraces that overlook the garden. We are located just outside the small town of Shickshinny in Northeastern, PA. The Blue Heron is situated on 15 acres of land and includes a fishing pond and gazebo dock. The house has 2 sitting rooms, one with large stone fireplace, large kitchen and decks on the front and back. The spacious bedrooms are decorated with different themes and include private baths. There are a variety of activities nearby including hiking, fishing, horseback riding and cycling. Rickets Glen State Park is only 7 miles away. The nearby town of Benton offers shops and an antique mall.
