When you’re staying in the little resort town of Ogunquit, chances are you’re there to relax and enjoy the 3.5 miles of beaches and breezy Atlantic air in this quaint Maine hamlet. A relaxing trip can’t be complete without waking up late and heading to a cozy cafe for a fabulous brunch. If you’re in the market for a late breakfast/early lunch in Ogunquit, here are the top-10 Ogunquit breakfast restaurants for brunch:

Amore breakfast and Cafe Amore

restaurant ogunquit

This breakfast spot is housed in a quintessential Cape Cod-style house and located on Shore Road in the main downtown area. It has retired church pews for seating and plenty of light streaming in the large windows, for a perfect mid-morning meal ambiencce. If you’re in the mood for breakfast Cape Cod-style, try the lobster benedict or the Oscar Madison omelet with crab, asparagus and swiss.

For lunch, they have an excellent mix of authentic Italian paninis and salads alongside more traditional East Coast options, like the lobster roll and the New Englander salad.

Bread and Roses Bakery

This cute little cafe is located on Main St. in a little corner of the bustling Blacksmith Mall Shopping Center. The coffee here is top-notch, as are the freshly baked quiches with local eggs, cheese and veggies. You can’t leave Ogunquit until you’ve tried Bread and Roses’ famous cinnamon butter puffs - a delectable mix between a donut and a muffin. The lemon coconut scones are another favorite.

Bintliff's Restaurant

If you’re looking for a sit-down place with less of a cafe feel, check out Sunday brunch at Bintliff’s, which boasts a very large menu and uses several locally produced products, including coffee from Carpe Diem Coffee Roasting Company in nearby North Berwick, shellfish from Maine Shellfish in nearby Kennebunk and beers from plenty of local breweries.

The pancakes, french toast and waffles here are to die for. You can find surprising options like Georgian caramel pecan waffles, orange graham French toast and - if you’re feeling extra-fancy - gingerbread pancakes with a tart lemon sauce. Bintliff’s is located on Main St., two blocks north of Berwick Avenue.

Wild Blueberry Cafe

Everything about Wild Blueberry is fresh and simple, but simply divine. Like all Ogunquit breakfast restaurants, it includes offerings like benedicts, pancakes, hashes and scrambles. The atmosphere is peaceful and relaxed, and it’s only a short walk from the beaches and turquoise waters that make Ogunquit such a lovely vacation destination. Come to Wild Blueberry if you like to keep it simple but still expect high-quality eats.

Cove Cafe & Corner Shoppe

This restaurant combined with a unique gift shop is located on Oarweed Road, just off of Shore Road on your way to the scenic Perkins Cove. The best part about this spot is that it specializes in breakfast only, so you know it’ll be good.

Try the lobster frittata or the crab meat, bacon, cheddar and spinach omelet for a real treat. Or, have you ever thought of having fresh crab cakes and eggs for breakfast? You’re in Maine - so why not? Another delicious option is the Maine blueberry pancakes, or go all-out with blueberries and order a glass of blueberry juice! If you’re impressed, consider bringing friends or family members home a gift of homemade blueberry jam or syrup, which you can buy in the store.
