Hidden in the Cross Timbers area of North Texas, Rancho Sereno is a 165 acre private ranch and wildlife preserve. Located on the ranch is the Inn at Sandy Creek – overlooking native prairie, indigenous hardwoods and a six acre lake stocked with bass. The Inn is designed in contemporary Texas vernacular style with expansive porches and beautiful views of the surrounding country. The interiors were created by a recognized San Francisco design firm with a level of sophistication not usually found in a property of this size. Located approximately 1 hour from the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex and 10 minutes from Lake Texoma, the Inn is in the heart of horse country within minutes of the most recognized trainers and breeders of quarter horses in the United States. The Inn is the perfect spot for a weekend retreat with family and friends and an elegant headquarters for horse owners and professionals visiting the area. The owners’ accomplished broodmares and their foals are at home here and will greet you when you arrive.

Lisa & Mike are wonderful owners whom ensure your stay is relaxing and fun. Both are quite knowledgeable about the surrounding towns, activities available in the area and the restaurants. Absolutely beautiful property.

We celebrated our anniversary at Rancho Sereno. It was more peaceful and relaxing than we could have imagined. The fishing was great and the owners were very kind and happy to share their ranch with us. We will definitely return in the fall. Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants peace and quiet in an elegant private room.

Beautiful set up. It is gated so be sure to take the phone number with you in case it is closed when you get there. There is a great full cooking area so bring the ingredients for you favorite meals and cook 'em up right there. Be sure to bring your own games (left our pinochle deck at home so on cold/rainy days we were missing those kind of things to do). There is no fireplace for the guests, but they do have a fire pit up the hill, for some s'mores and fun around the campfire. The sleeping rooms are separated from the other cabins and kitchen/lodge (but not far away at all). And they each have their own thermostat! Yay! I hope to go back with a group of gals. The facility is way worth the price!

My husband and I just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with a mid-week stay at Rancho Sereno. We had a wonderful time. The cabin was where we stayed was well appointed, and the hospitality is outstanding. We definitely recommend Rancho Sereno to anyone looking for a quick, restful, romantic getaway from DFW.

How would we know that we would get a 5 star experience in a little town in North Texas? The room was amazing complete with modern classic furnishings and architecture, the bathroom was huge and luxurious. The owners even provided big fluffy bathrobes, in room coffee maker with real mugs and full size soaps. We had a private balcony facing west so we could watch the sunset. The family was very nice and welcoming. Breakfast was served in another building right next door that boasted a lovely sitting area with huge TV, a dining area, patio and kitchen. We had a wonderful time at the local lavender farm and the Peanut Festival and just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. At just an hour and a half away from Dallas, it was the definition of a get a way!
