I love old restored buildings, but I also loved this! Three modern buildings were built for hospitality: two freestanding bedroom buildings with their own bathrooms and a third shared building with a nice kitchen, dining, entertaining space. We loved the privacy of our own building, enjoyed the views across the ponds and woods, slept very well on high quality beds, and ate well thanks to Mike and Lisa's hospitality. There are plenty of woods for walking in a very private setting and Lisa will show the horse breeding and training facilities when and if you're interested, which we were. A lovely, peaceful place with high quality everything in a very modern setting.

We occupied both cottages and the Pine room...the gourmet kitchen and patio grill were great...it was the perfect setting for our family gathering...enjoyed watching the horses and fishing the private lake. Rancho Sereno was the perfect place to set and visit...we look forward to another trip...

Lisa & Mike are wonderful owners whom ensure your stay is relaxing and fun. Both are quite knowledgeable about the surrounding towns, activities available in the area and the restaurants. Absolutely beautiful property.

We celebrated our anniversary at Rancho Sereno. It was more peaceful and relaxing than we could have imagined. The fishing was great and the owners were very kind and happy to share their ranch with us. We will definitely return in the fall. Would highly recommend this to anyone who wants peace and quiet in an elegant private room.

Beautiful set up. It is gated so be sure to take the phone number with you in case it is closed when you get there. There is a great full cooking area so bring the ingredients for you favorite meals and cook 'em up right there. Be sure to bring your own games (left our pinochle deck at home so on cold/rainy days we were missing those kind of things to do). There is no fireplace for the guests, but they do have a fire pit up the hill, for some s'mores and fun around the campfire. The sleeping rooms are separated from the other cabins and kitchen/lodge (but not far away at all). And they each have their own thermostat! Yay! I hope to go back with a group of gals. The facility is way worth the price!

My husband and I just celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with a mid-week stay at Rancho Sereno. We had a wonderful time. The cabin was where we stayed was well appointed, and the hospitality is outstanding. We definitely recommend Rancho Sereno to anyone looking for a quick, restful, romantic getaway from DFW.

How would we know that we would get a 5 star experience in a little town in North Texas? The room was amazing complete with modern classic furnishings and architecture, the bathroom was huge and luxurious. The owners even provided big fluffy bathrobes, in room coffee maker with real mugs and full size soaps. We had a private balcony facing west so we could watch the sunset. The family was very nice and welcoming. Breakfast was served in another building right next door that boasted a lovely sitting area with huge TV, a dining area, patio and kitchen. We had a wonderful time at the local lavender farm and the Peanut Festival and just relaxing and enjoying the scenery. At just an hour and a half away from Dallas, it was the definition of a get a way!

The scenery is beautiful; the accommodations comfortable and cozy. There is no better way to re-gather oneself, clear the mind, and regain a sense of peace, then at Rancho Sereno.

My 3 friends and I had a fantastic time visiting Rancho Sereno. The horses were beautiful and the geldings were hams. They made a fire in the firepit for a lovely evening of Smores. Wonderful lodging, comfortable beds, cute dogs.

We had a wonderful Ladies weekend! Even after weeks of rain it wasn't too muddy to deter us from exploring the place and visiting the animals at the ranch. The horses are beautiful and not shy at all! Fans of Hank the Cowdog will want to meet the Border Collie named Elvis. He's the head of ranch security at Rancho Sereno. The rooms and the lodge are gorgeous, comfortable and luxurious. The design and architecture felt like something that should win awards. The evening was a little cold for us, so we spent time by the fire in the lodge and played games. We went back outside to have a nice fire in the pit and made s'mores. The entire experience was exceptionally peaceful, relaxing and very enjoyable. I want to visit again, soon!

We stayed one night at Rancho Sereno and can't wait to go back! We had an amazing time! Everything was so clean and well maintained. Lisa and Mike were fabulous! They welcomed us and made us feel right at home. I got some amazing pictures while we were there too. I am still in awe of their amazing place! It is definitley a gem in Whitesboro! Go visit soon! It is definitely worth every penny and more!

My wife and I stayed for Valentines Day and were overwhelmed with how beautiful Rancho Sereno was. Lisa and Mike have done a great job and it's definitely worth the money!
