This was a repeat visit near state parks. Our room was pleasant and quiet. We appreciated having a minifridge and microwave in the room. The staff were friendly and responsive to our requests. The breakfasts were hearty and fresh. Our room had a river view with lovely tall cypress trees. The river was higher than on previous stays and very pretty.

Nice place and people. The room was okay and was clean. The host and hostess were nice and breakfast was good. Compared to other b&b's we have stayed, it was expensive for the room. Again, the area was lovely and the owners nice.

We wanted a comfortable place to stay while we explored the beautiful hill country. We really enjoyed this place. It was small and very quiet for the most part. The hot tub was great after driving most of the day. Walking along the river was very relaxing. We were amazed at the comfort of the bed and bedding (comforter, pillows, etc.) Got a great night sleep and then woke to a really great breakfast! We will recommend this place. In fact, we told some friends and they said they had already known about it because they had stayed there before.

We just returned from Utopia on the River and we will be repeat customers. This experience relieved all our stress. Enjoyable, quiet time watching the wildlife and experiencing the beauty of Texas Hill Country nature. Highly recommend when you need to relax and renew! Jack & Millie Foster

My husband and I visited Utopia on the River for the first time in March 2014 and loved it so much that we chose it as the site for our family to gather to celebrate our mom's 90th birthday this past weekend. The innkeepers catered a delicious lunch for our party, and our family enjoyed the beautiful grounds and peaceful atmosphere that is the experience there. Watching the bright stars at night and the deer, horses, and hummingbirds during the day all added to a delightful stay. The warmth and welcome that the innkeepers extend is truly exceptional. Breakfasts are fresh cooked and very good. The rooms are not luxurious, but very clean and comfortable. The inn is very close to the Laurel Tree Restaurant which offers a fine dining experience you will not believe exists in a small town in the Hill Country. Two beautiful state parks are also within driving distance. We can't wait to return.

Utopia on the River is the prefect location for a hill country weekend away. They have beautiful grounds, the beds are comfortable, the rooms are clean, the staff could not be more helpful and the breakfast is absolutely the best. We loved our stay there and will be back.

We really enjoyed our visit to Utopia and the surrounding area and Utopia on the River was an excellent place to stay. The room was large and everything was very clean, only issue was the low toilets that even me at 5ft 2in. found them short. The breakfast we were served was great both the owner and her helper were great cooks. Wished the river was running higher but can't do much when we are having a drought. Liked it enough to go back again, probably in the Fall.

Quiet wooded setting. Excellent cook to order breakfasts. Comfortable king bed. Only thing that kept it from perfect was hot tub wasn't hot when I checked at 8 pm and again at 7 am

Words don't describe the setting of this establishment. Far away from noise and people. The only thing to disturb one are the deer that roam and the flow of the river!!! Breakfast is great too.

We haven't been back in 21 years(!) and the lodge has gone through a couple of others owners since, but the incredible charm of the place is still there. We're hoping it won't be another 21 years until we're back again. Thank You!
