A beautiful modest country inn located in a small railroad town between Houston and Austin. We offer 5 rooms with private entrance/baths separate from the main house, king or queen-size beds with Eqyptian cotton sheets, dish sat TV/VCR, and wireless Internet connections. On the property we boast a heated pool during winter months,manicured gardens and a historic 1913 main house where a bountiful breakfast is served. Since 2008 we are now a hidden haven to the "stars" while filming in town because we have proven that we are a place of peace and love, with no meddling or questions during our guest(s) stay.

My parents and I stayed at this B&B last week and we were very impressed with everything. Lauren is a great cook and our meals every morning were fantastic and made to our special needs. Mark and Lauren are excellent hosts and went over and above to make our stay special. Mark even pulled out the old bicycle tractor and started it up for us. If you are planning a trip to smithville, this is the place you want to stay without a doubt. highest of marks to the hosts. thank you for taking care of us so well!

We just checked out this morning after having a delicious breakfast. Mark and Lauren are wonderful hosts. We loved it and highly recommend it for anyone looking for a quiet hideaway!

I would like to keep this place my little secret -- but many, many people have already discovered it -- and like everyone before me says -- it is the most AWESOME b and b ever. Lauren and Mark are awesome. I feel like I have made a connection. I will be coming back. (Hint -- if you breakfast here, might as well plan on skipping lunch!)

Lauren and Mark were the most wonderful hosts, allowing me into their home and making me feel like family. Lauren is also an amazing cook and it was a pleasure to be blessed with their company for the Easter (resurrection) holiday weekend! When I return to town I will always stay with lauren and Mark!

From Austin, take Highway 183/Highway 71 south past the Austin/Bergstrom Airport approximately 30 miles to the small town of Smithville. Take the first exit for Smithville off Highway 71 and follow the signs for the one mile to the townsite. Once in Smithville, take a left at the first red light, called Third street. Follow Third past the main street of Smithville to Garwood Street, which is 2 blocks after the 7-11 gas station on your left. Turn left on Garwood and we are the first property on the right hand corner of Third and Garwood. There is a small white picket fence around the property.
