Lime Kiln Vineyard Bed and Breakfast

I just spent the weekend at the Lime Kiln Bed and Breakfast and got acquainted with the new owners, Jon and Laura. I was the innkeeper for this B&B when it first opened to the public in 2008. I moved back home 19 months later, but return frequently to this special place. Of course, I have wonderful memories from my time at this B&B, so I was anxious to make certain that it is in good hands. I was not in the least disappointed. Jon and Laura are doing an excellent job of improving and maintaining the property. They were warm and friendly and I felt very welcome there. They have wonderful plans for future improvements and I will be looking forward to returning to see their progress. I would not hesitate in recommending this B&B to all my former guests and to anyone who has not yet discovered this magical oasis. We stayed at this terrific B&B two years ago and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The BIG surprise was the abundant wildlife we enjoyed while there. Many deer were present in early morning and at dusk, and the occasional roadrunner appeared right near the pool. We were enchanted to say the least - what an environment! We returned to this lovely spot recently and had another outstanding experience. All the nearby shopping and convenience of San Marcos and yet, here at the Lime Kiln Vineyard, we had a real taste of nature and the Hill Country. We are definitely hooked and will place this B&B at the top of our list when visiting the Texas Hill Country!

A perfect spot to enjoy San Marcos outside the hustle and bustle of town itself. It brings back memories of the "earlier" SWT with lots of charm and simplicity. You will not go without here, all of the comforts of a 5 star hotel with the added benefit of home and stillness. The attention shown by the owner was complete with delicious breakfasts then complete privacy. We will definitely come back the next time we are in San Marcos.

We just stayed here for a long family weekend. This is the nicest B and B I have ever been to. Rooms are beautiful and peaceful. It is far enough from the hustle and bustle of city life to really relax yet close enough to go and enjoy the San Marcos charm. The breakfasts are outstanding. The charm of the Texas flowers and wildlife really make this Band B one of a kind. The pool was relaxing. Our family had a wonderful time. I am coming back for sure!!!!

My husband and I stayed here while visiting our daughter in San Marcos. What a gem of a B&B! We are from California, and this was our first visit to Texas although we've travelled a lot and stayed in numerous B&B's. This has got to be one of our very favorites! We loved our spacious, tastefully decorated and well-equipped room and felt so comfortable there. The bed was heavenly and we slept deeply, awakening to the lovely sounds of birds. It's so quiet here, with deer and foxes in the neighborhood. I looked forward to tea outside on the porch reading each morning. My husband loved his morning and evening swims in the pool, and we both loved walking around the rural neighborhood. There's a gorgeous and friendly land tortoise in residence in the front yard which is particularly fun! There were incredible massages available, along with a high-tech bicycle fitting! Cindy, our host, was sweet and gracious. This is definitely a 5-star hidden gem!

I've stayed at the Lime Kiln vineyard twice - both times couldn't have been more pleasant! The Lighthouse Suite is just beautiful - so clean, comfortable and spacious. All the linens are luxurious. The bathroom, with the extra large, spotless shower has more than all the comforts of home. The 3rd room with a walk in closet, fridge, microwave and dishes was so handy. The pool area is spotless and refreshing. The breakfasts were delicious, hearty and healthy. There were many added touches, fresh baked goods waiting for us in our suite, a fridge stocked with soft drinks and water, a basket of snacks, helpful suggestions and directions, and much flexibility with check in and check out. When we had some extra time on our last day, Cindy invited us to stay at the pool and to change in the Bombay Suite, which also is beautiful. Although every aspect of the Lime Kiln B&B is exceptional, the best part of our stays was the warm, friendly hospitality of Cindy, our host. Communication with Cindy was a breeze, from the time of the reservation, to the timing of our arrival, and throughout our stay. Cindy was so accommodating and welcoming - we were treated like VIP's! She remembered my mentioning a favorite wine on our first stay, and surprised me with a gift of that exact bottle on our second stay! The weekend of our daughter's move-in had many unexpected complications, and Cindy's extra kindnesses helped this stressful and exhausting time. She had a rollaway bed waiting for us on very short notice, and invited our daughter to share breakfast with us. I really enjoyed spending some time with her 6 year old son - what an adorable and fun little guy! We even got to witness the "stomping of the grapes" at harvesting time, which was entertaining and wonderfully fragrant. I think of Cindy as a friend in addition to being a wonderful innkeeper, cook and host. If there were a higher rating than "Outstanding", the Lime Kiln Vineyard B&B would deserve it.

This has become a favorite get-away vacation that is close to home but far from the city. When you arrive, you will be warmly welcomed by the innkeeper, Cindy. Their whole family is extremely helpful to assure that all of your needs are met. From delicious desserts to a warm heartly breakfast, you will not go hungry. We chose to spend the day at the pool, but considered driving to Wimberley or Gruene. Once you get there, you just don't want to leave.... trust me.

We really enjoyed our anniversary weekend stay here and were greeted by a wonderful mini "wedding cake", bottle of wine and roses upon arrival. The pool/patio/vineyard and natural surrounding hill country are marvelous, as are the visiting deer. The breakfasts leave other B&B's in the dust--they are fabulous and preclude any need to eat lunch. We loved the quiet surroundings and the innkeeper, Lynn, is so nice and accomodating.

This bed and breakfast is a hidden treasure! My husband and I celebrated our 38th anniversary there and it was wonderful. The innkeeper, Lynn is a wonderful hostess and an excellent cook!! The rooms are spotless and beautiful. What a wonderful stay. We will be back soon!!

This was my husband and my first stay at a B & B. We celebrated our 12th anniversary at The Lime Kiln with Ms. Lynn the amazing inn keeper. The experience was fabulous! From the delicious ice cream sundaes by the beautiful pool, the romantic room and the out of this world breakfast every moment was unforgetable. Thank you Ms. Lynn for all you do for others. YOU are a true blessing to the B & B industry.

Visited San Marcos for our daughters graduation at Texas State Uni.We arrived late at night and greeted by beautiful deer in the front garden of the BB.Lynn the innkeeper was there to greet us with a big happy smile an was most accommodating to all our needs.The Lighthouse suite was immaculate -comfortable kingsize bed ,huge shower and useful utility room with bar fridge coffee teamaker.Breakfast is a treat ! You need to visit to experience.Each dish individually made with love and no fuss by Lynn. Hope to visit again soon! Marty & Sharon

It was my husband's and my first time staying at a B&B and this one was the best. it was our anniversary and the tranquility and peacefulness of this place made it all worth while. We look so forward to going again!

This is the place to get away to! The property is beautifully landscaped, the food exceptional and the room nicer than most hotels we have stayed at. Lynn, the innkeeper, is the best and makes you feel comfortable and pampered from the moment you arrive. Had the most relaxed, refreshing and peaceful two days at this beautiful hill country setting. My wife and I just returned from a midweek visit to the Lime Kiln Vineyard Bed and Breakfast. This visit changer my view of B&Bs. We were welcomed by Lynn, Who showed us around and to our suite, which was very neat and comfortable. This was a beautiful set up. Lynn was a very sweet and capable host. The atmosphere was nice and peaceful. We also enjoyed the deer. The food was great. We are planning to make another trip to the Lime Kilm Vinetard very soom bring our girls and their Husbands.

This is the first time that I have ever stayed at a Bed and Breakfast, and the experience was truly wonderful. I loved the peaceful atmosphere, the extreme beauty of the landscaping. It feels like you are on a tropical island but you are just minutes from some of the best shopping. The food is excellent, and you are truly pampered. Everything is wonderful, from the rooms, to the pool, and especially the food. The Innkeeper is an amazing cook, and a wonderful hostess.

These are the cleanest rooms I have every seen in a public facility. The food was wonderful and breakfast was sufficiently filling to skip lunch and I probably should have skipped dinner. The sitting is unique as a lot of B&B's are located in cities and we were able to watch the deer while dining. I would recommend to anyone.

My friend and I came up for a girls only/no boys allowed weekend and absolutely loved the Lime Kiln B&B! The room was gorgeous and the surroundings were peaceful and serene! We spent Saturday at the Outlet Malls and then came back for a great massage! Lynn couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We will definitely return to the Lime Kiln in the future and may bring the boys the next time...maybe!

My wife and I stayed there over the Easter weekend. After seeing that all of the previous reviews were "outstanding" we were expecting the same, and we weren't disappointed. The facility is remote enough to be isolated, but close enough to be convenient to shopping and eating. The photos on this web site (and theirs) don't do any justice to how spacious and clean everything is. Lynn Goetz, the Innkeeper, is a delightful lady and we did not want for a thing. The meals were excellent and the service was impeccable. We will definitely go back.

My husband and I were looking for a weekend getaway to the Hill Country of Texas. This little B&B certainly exceeded our expectations. It is relatively new to the public, the rooms (and bathrooms) are well appointed without being pretentious. The breakfast and desserts are wonderful. Most of all, the B&B gives you the feeling of country seculsion, but with a city full of activities less than a couple minutes away! All in all, one of the best experiences I have ever had at a B&B.

My sister and I stayed at the inn for a shopping getaway. The room was spotless, spacious, and welcoming. The location is serene and peaceful. It was amazing to get so close to all the deer. The food was fabulous. Lynn is a friendly hostess that makes you feel right at home. I recommend it to everyone.

Three couples went for the weekend. The food was just delicious - thank you Lynn. What a wonderful time we all had and so many things close to experience - shopping, antiques, golf....something for everyone.

This is my second visit to Lime Kiln B&B. After a shopping week-end with my mother, sister and niece in October, 2008 which was wonderful. Lynn is top of the line. Food is outstanding. My husband was in San Antonio for a convention December, 2008 and I flew in on Friday and on our way home we stayed on Saturday with Lynn again. My husband loved the peaceful atmosphere and feeding the deer was a real treat. Lynn is great and the food is great. We will definitely return. Great work Lynn and happy holiday.

The Lime Kiln Vineyard is a respite from the busy world. The suites are roomy, sparkling clean, and cozy. The innkeeper's warm personality and delicious food make you feel right at home. Visit to be spoiled and pampered. Leave refreshed!

My friends and I had an incredible stay at Lime Kiln. The rooms are quiet, spacious and immaculately clean. Lynn treated us like royalty! The atmosphere is so warm and welcoming...it instantly feels like home. Lynn is an utterly amazing cook! From fresh baked cookies and scrumptuous, melt-in-your-mouth desserts to the most delicious breakfasts...Lynn spoiled us with her treats. We will DEFINITELY return many times! We had an amazing stay at the Lime Kiln B&B. The rooms, service and food were outstanding. Very relaxing and serene setting...we even had the deer eating out of our hands every day! We escaped the city life for a peaceful weekend before our first baby arrives. We found peace, tranquility, and exceptional food! Anything Lynn prepared for us was far more than delicious. The room was extremely clean, spacious, and private. We will definitly return when the first opportunity presents itself.

We, along with two other couples, had a wonderful stay. We enjoyed relaxing massages, relaxing atmosphere, and fabulous food. The rooms were exceptionally well done....large and comfortable. The bathrooms were also very large and so clean! Did I mention the food???? Absolutely delicious!!!!! Lynn was the very best innkeeper....we will definitely return.

My husband and I have stayed many times with Lynn and have throughly enjoyed our stays. It is nice to come back up the hill to the peace and quiet after a day spent at a football game or other on campus activity. We have loved the deer that frequent the area and the enjoyment of nature, a sky full of stars or just the absolute quiet. We are from Houston and it is a wonderful get away spot. Lynn is wonderful and was especially so as we ran from Hurricane Ike. It is a relaxing place to visit and we would recommend it to anyone...GO BOBCATS!

My daughter and I had an incredible stay at Lime Kiln Vineyard B&B. After a full day of shopping at the Outlet Malls in San Marcos, we traveled into a country setting and saw groups of deer as we arrived at the B&B. Lynn, the innkeeper made our stay so special. Be sure and ask for the Bourbon Pecan Cobbler - yum yum yum! The Light House suite was very bright and cheerful, along with many treats in the room, including homemade cookies. We got a good night's rest, and enjoyed a delicious breakfast, which was very good and filling. The latte was tasty as Lynn prepared it from her fancy machine. Our stay was one to remember and one to repeat. We felt so special and our stay was very restful. We'll be returning very soon! Everything was outstanding!!

My husband and another couple recently visited Lime Kiln Vineyard B&B. The location was very close to the outlets in San Marcos and downtown, yet the B&B seemed completely remote in its setting. This was the most relaxing weekend getaway that I have ever had. The B&B was immaculately clean, and we were never once not completely full and happy. The breakfast on both mornings was like something from a great magazine. We spent a lot of time in the pool and enjoyed watching the deer in the evening. I would recommend a trip here to everyone!!

My husband and I, along with another couple, stayed at Lime Kiln on August 1-3, 2008. The inn is meticulously well-maintained, exceptionally clean, and sooooo relaxing. Be sure to try ANY dessert prepared by Lynn, the innkeeper. She puts Paula Deen to shame! The outdoor area is quiet and peaceful, and there is a beautiful herd of deer that come up to the back fence to feed several times a day. Everything was perfect down to the last detail, and we can't wait to go back!
