Ruckman Haus is a charming, centrally-located bed and breakfast in the heart of the most historic area of San Antonio. We are located 2 miles northwest of downtown and the historic San Antonio Riverwalk. Ruckman Haus is a turn-of-the-century stucco home that reflects the distinct Spanish influences in San Antonio. We are within walking distance of many attractions and restaurants. Shopping, including antiques and traditional store items, is close by. At the house itself guests will find a spacious living room, comfortable library nook and a large dining room. Outside are a shady patio and a large deck where guests may gather for afternoon refreshments and conversation.

Great location and friendly owners, so sad to hear that they will be closing down this summer. I would have loved to stay again in the future. All the rooms were awesome, love the fact that they designed everything down to smallest detail as to make each room unique.

I have stayed here so many times I have lost count. Every time is a treat. Ron and Prudence are so very nice and accommodating. Ron is an Excellent cook and I highly recommend staying here. Very short distance to downtown and the Zoo. It is in a quiet area and is a nice reprieve from the hustle and bustle of DT SA.

My sisters and sister-in-law joined me at the Ruckman Haus. I had stayed there before and recommended it to the others. The owners are so helpful and pleasant. The food is plentiful and delicious. We had such a wonderful weekend together and the rooms just added to the memories of the trip. I will miss staying there on future trips to SA after they stop being a B&B, but they deserve a quiet retirement. Thanks for your hospitality.

We had a wonderful time in SA and much of it was due to Prudence and Ron, great innkeepers at the Ruckman Haus B&B. They sent us on our way each day with a delicious, filling breakfast and lots of great recommendations of what to see and do. The B&B is conveniently located just a couple of miles north of downtown and a few miles south of Brackenridge Park so it was easy and quick to get to everything. We even walked to dinner one night.

Located near the Pearl Brewery where you can catch a river taxi down to the river walk. This place was all around fantastic. Room was very nice with a large comfotable bed and a homey feel, large deck attached with rocking chairs, and complimentary movies to watch. Downstairs kitchen was large with everything you need and complimentary beverages including beer & wine. Breakfast was delicious and prepared when we wanted it, not at a set time. I recommend this to anyone staying in the San Antonio Area!

This is the place to stay in San Antonio! Comfortable beds, clean room, quiet area, walking distance to the River Walk, and a very friendly atmosphere. I would come back to Texas just to stay at the Ruckman Haus again. I loved it!!

my facebook post made while I was there: Sitting on the veranda of on old Texas home in a overstuffed willow and wood chair (the ones that look homemade) with a calico cat curled up at my feet. Listening to the birds and waiting for the sunset while a gentle occasion breeze plays the wind chimes. The yard is simply spectacular with pots of ivy and blooming pansies, violets, geraniums everywhere. Old brick walkways and stain glass windows ivy covered pillars-- wish you were here
