My husband planned a surprise get away weekend for us to celebrate our 10th anniversary. He found Dr. Yrizarry's B&B online and told me it looked fun and interesting as we drove down to San Antonio. Our fabulous weekend started with Dr. Yrizarry's enthusiastic greeting. She is so full of happiness, it is infectious. We had a wonderful weekend and REALLY loved walking to restaurants from her B&B and driving a short 1.5 miles to the free parking at Pearl Brewery where we enjoyed a WONDERFUL quiet walk down the new extension of the riverwalk. We so enjoyed the couple of miles wlk in total peace and serenity before turning the corner to the bustle of the main riverwalk. We happened to hit the art fair weekend which was also super fun. Dr. Yrizarry's B&B was very comfortable and super clean - which just amazed me given the amount of decorations in our room. She is just delightful and what a ball of energy! I loved her herb garden as well. With all the positve messages all over the B&B, you can't help but leave feeling happy and well rested. The 'icing on the cake' was her delicious breakfasts. Healthy, yet delicious and wonderful variety.

My husband and I had a delightful time at this B&B! Celebrating our 5th anniversary late, but when she asked, Dr. Ada Yrizarry told us that we would be getting a cake in the refrigerator in the room, to celebrate our 5th. Such a nice touch! And she was so sweet. We stayed in the honeymoon executive suite. Be warned: the bed is hard. And when we asked for extra pillows, she didn't have any. The pillows provided didn't have much shape to them--not very supportive for the neck. So we improvised: we used the throw pillows under the bed pillows, and it worked just fine! And the food was absolutely marvellous! All made from scratch, the breakfasts were gourmet! And, when we arrived, there was an old-fashioned bath, which Ada had told me would have bath salts with it. I took a bath in it, with both bath salts, and boy, was that relaxing after a day of walking around town. Wonderful experience for both my husband and I.

I loved staying at Dr. Yrizarry's Bed and Breakfast. The house is well located in the Monte Vista neighborhood--in a pretty neighborhood and close enough to walk (about 20 minutes) to downtown and the Riverwalk. It is also close to Trinity University which I was visiting. Dr. Yrizarry was a great host. She made a beautiful breakfast each morning and was very helpful with walking and driving directions. I would definitely stay here again.

Wonderful accommodations, great food... clean, quiet...overall a very very pleasant atmosphere and stay. The owner was wonderful, the beds oh so nice, and the food exquisite! We are frequent world-wide travelers, and found Dr. Yrizarry's Bed and Breakfast wonderful and one of the best! We will stay there the next time we visit San Antonio.

Dr. Ada is a lovely, intelligent and funny woman. Her house is overfilled with a large variety of interesting things to look at. I don't know how she keeps it dusted but she does. Maybe it's the salt lamps. The breakfasts were delicious and well presented.

Dr. Yrizarry was not just an innkeeper she was a blessing to us. We have been to many B&B's and have never experienced such warmth and friendship. She truly has a zest for life and loves to make sure your every need is taken care of. From the delicious birthday cake to the heavenly breakfasts to the impeccable rooms and comfort it just doesn't get any better then this. We were sad to leave and will miss her cheerful laugh and spirit! Blessings Stephen and Dawn
