The Inn At Salado

Our son & daughter-in-law had an outdoor wedding at the Inn At Salado...and I cannot say enough about how accommodating, helpful. and friendly everyone was throughout the entire process! From questions being answered promptly to friendly service with a smile...we were very blessed! Plus, all the food was absolutely delicious...the chicken cordon bleu at the rehearsal dinner, the yummy BBQ with all the trimmings at the wedding, and the scrumptious spread they provided for breakfast on Sunday! Also, the decorations were absolutely beautiful under that gorgeous oak tree as well as in the hall! Lastly, the DJ they recommended was wonderful, too...very fun and entertaining! Thank you and God bless you to everyone at the Inn At Salado! You gave all of us a very precious weekend to always remember and cherish! :-)

The bed and breakfast was wonderful. The room was nice and big and soaking in the claw footed tub was a real treat. Breakfast was wonderful. I would recommend staying here to anyone

Beautiful Inn at Salado, staff met us at door and welcomed us with a short tour and explination of where items were we might need once staff left for the evening. Our room was perfect for us and the A/C worked wonderfully even in the extreme heat outside! Breakfast was waiting for us when we went downstairs, it was not and delicious. Staff was very accomidating and friendly. We will definetly be staying here again !

Everything was great. First stay in a B&B & just wonderful -- definitely will go back. Inn, management, grounds, food -- excellent.

What a wonderful overnight getaway. Charming room, charming host/owner. Had the inn to ourselves that night with use of kitchen glassware, etc. Wonderful breakfast.

This was, I believe, our sixth year at the Inn at Salado. The owners, Rob and Suzanne Petro have made this beautiful old home into an oasis of relaxation. We prefer the Norton room on the second floor in the main house. A lovely outside balcony is shared with another room. The breakfast features the most wonderful quiche you will ever eat! Just don't ask Rob for the recipe - it's a family secret!!

There is one TV in the main house and it's located in the living room. So, if watching TV in bed is your thing, you may want to look at a different B&B. For us, we loved that there was no TV in our room. We created our own entertainment!! ;) We did a LOT of "playing" that weekend and I'm surprised we left the room at all! The final night there (Sunday) we had the entire house to ourselves. Oh, a little world of advice, if your stay includes a Sunday, go out to dinner early and by early I'm talking noon!! It seems that entire town goes to bed at three in the afternoon! We went out Sunday to do some walking and we couldn't find ANYTHING opened where we could eat. Sure there was Subway and Burger King but who wants fast food? We can get that at home! The Stagecouch was open but we had had dinner at Stagecouch the night before so we were hoping for something different like the Range, but turns out the Range is closed on Sundays (don't believe the hours on their website). Nonetheless, we went for a little drive to Temple and had dinner up there. Overall this little B&B got five stars all around. The room was amazingly cute, the staff was very friendly, the amenities exceeded our expectations for the price, and our room was very well kept and clean. We plan on staying at the other B&B in Salado but not because we were unsatisfied with this one but simply because we'd like to sample other B&Bs. If you stay at the Inn at Salado, drop the extra bucks for one of the rooms with a fireplace. Bring a bottle of wine or champagne, build yourself a fire, light some candles (my girlfriend brought some in her bag), and enjoy some "playtime" by the fire! ;)

We totally enjoyed the breakfast, very good food. The rooms are ok. Showering is a little tricky in the small claw foot tub and shower. Hospitality is wonderful.

The Inn at Salado is a wonderful, relaxing place to get away from the busy city! It takes you back to a time when life was more calm and simple, and surrounds you with history and charm! The local dining and shopping is great, and offers much variety! Thanks for a wonderful time!

We enjoyed our time at the Inn At Salado. The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed the claw foot tub and the porch outside with the swing. We walked from the inn to all of the shops and had a TERRIFIC dinner at Adelea's on Main. The quiche on our second day was terrific. The innkeepers were very friendly too. A very nice weekend!

We chise Salado to celebrate our 48th anniversary. Arriving late Saturday, we were greeted by Suzanne who checked us in and showed us to our upstairs room. A spacious and well kept room with access to the wide balcony accross the front of the building. What a relaxing place for late evening and early morning. Rob had us a prepared breakfast each morning with fresh fruit, quiche, biscuits and gravy, assorted cereals, and hot waffles. With a cup(s) of hot coffee, we enjoyed lively talks with the other guests. On Monday and Tuesday there was only one other guest room at breakfast. We were not on a shopping mission, so the laid back weekend was jout what we needed. Thanks Rob and Suzanne.

Rooms are very clean, comfortable, well appointed. No noise at night, and central location in town. Host could not be nicer, and breakfast was top drawer. Highly recommended.

We booked the Baines room since it was the only room left for a couple of nights. Overall it was a nice experience small neat and simple room. This place is very old, but they have kept it up. We enjoyed breakfast one morning, fresh fruit, biscuits and gravy, OJ, fresh waffles and breakfast casserole. Only a couple of things bothered us, our room was downstairs and we could hear the people upstairs everytime they walked on the hardwood floors. The other was that there was no TV in the room. We would stay here again, perhaps in another room.

My husband and I stayed in the Rose Room on June 27, 2009, and the bed was so hard and uncomfortable, the flloor would have been better! Breakfast was okay and room was clean. Will not stay in the Rose Room again.

It was like entering another world! My girlfriend and I had the most relaxing and fun stay. They did everything right and enjoyable.

We stayed in the Rose Room and loved it. It was nice to sit out on our private porch swing overlooking the big oak tree and the room was very antique and charming. The owners were very welcoming and the breakfast was a delicious buffet style. The Inn is very historic and I love that they kept it that way. My boyfriend and I adored our visit and would recommend it to anyone wanting a sweet night away from it all.

My friend and I enjoyed a stay in the Custer room a couple of years ago. Comfortable, great atmosphere, friendly hosts....and affordable!

We felt right at home and didn't want to leave. The breakfast is let me just say incredible! Don't leave before you have had the quiche! The rooms are large and they still have the original hardwood floors. I liked the idea that I was walking somewhere people over 100 yrs ago walked. The new house to the side is made to blend in with the original house but if you are looking for the feel the older house is the place to stay. We can not wait to go back.
