The centerpiece of this historic complex is H.D. Gruene's Victorian home built on a bluff overlooking the Guadalupe River. Most guest accommodations are in restored original 1870's outbuildings and barns from Mr. Gruene's cotton plantation.

We have been here several times. We love this place. Each time we go back, we reserve a different room. It is almost like visiting a different place each time, except for the special little touches of the folks at the Gruene Mansion Inn. The breakfast is scrumptious. The staff is wonderful. The rooms are each uniquely decorated. It is within walking distance to several restaurants and small town shopping. The Guadalupe River runs right behind the Inn with R&R River Rides which will help you with tubes or rafts. Schliterbahn Water Park is about 1 1/2 miles down the road. What more could you ask for?

We were in the market for a room close enough to venues in the area we could walk to and recalled the Gruene Mansion Inn from a trip to Gruene hall in 2011. The descriptions of the rooms and recommended party size was right on. All the staff were super helpful and went above andbeyond our entire stay. The room was absolutely the best room I have ever stayed in, antique and country decor was awesome, and I have easily paid 3 times the amount for a quarter of the quality of amenities and stay. The buffet breakfast included in the morning is the best breakfast you will be offered at any Resturant. Food was being freshly prepared and the taste and variety was outstanding. We will without any doubt be staying here yearly on our river trip, and I assure you you will not be disappointed.

My husband and I spent our wedding night and the following night in the River Tree Loft here. Such a lovely spot! You feel like you are in a little village on the river. Rooms are adorable and quaint. They have an antiquated & rustic feel to them, but still have the amenities you look for like a refrigerator and a coffee maker. This is a great spot for a romantic getaway, or a family trip to Gruene. The manager, Jackie, even came to take a picture of my husband and I with our "just married" car. We had a great time and will probably stay again in the future. By the way, breakfast was DELICIOUS! :)

Great place to stay. Warm. Inviting. Kid-friendly. The breakfast is the best breakfast I've ever tasted. They have stuff for the sweet tooth or if you love eggs with all the fix ins. They even had kid friendly cereal for the youngsters. Every detail was thought out right down to the hospitable coffee mugs and flavored creamer. Traveling with three children was not only possible but actually relaxing. Love this place!
