Silk Stocking Row

  • Inn Details

We are less that an hour from the hustle and bustle of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. You can experience true Texas hospitality in a magnificent Queen Ann style mansion. Scenic and cultural attractions abound in this North Texas hill country. The Brazos River, nearby lakes and parks offer great recreational opportunities. An historic and architecturally intriguing downtown area is an easy walk and has unique attractions and shopping. Built in 1904 as a boarding house on beautifully landscaped grounds, guests are invited to enjoy the warm environs of the library, parlor, formal dining room or wrap-around verandahs...or enjoy private moments in a swing under hugh oak trees... Spacious guest rooms are on the second floor with private bath, cent. heat and air. Numerous amenities include quality toiletries, extra pillows and oversized thirsty towels. A hospitality area, that is just steps away, contains an icemaker, snacks and a stocked refrigerator. Freshly ground and brewed coffee awaits the early bird here each morning, followed by a full hearty breakfast

We were greeted warmly by Chuck who showed us to our very comfortable suite with bedroom, sitting room, and bathroom with shower. The public areas of the B&B are very comfortable and attractive and include both a lower and upper wrap-around balcony. The rooms are all decorated with an amazing collection of antiques, pictures, and interesting items. Chuck prepared us a magnificant hot breakfast and answered all our questions about his quaint and historic town. This was a great stay in a fine B&B.

We really enjoyed our night at the Silk Stocking Row. Both Wilene and Chuck were excellent hosts. All the rooms are beautifully decorated. Our stay in the Garden Room couldn't have been better. Extra comfy bed and decorated in blue and yellow with lots of extra special touches, great books and movies to check out. The breakfast the next morning was the best we've had at any of the B & Bs we have stayed in. Wish we could have stayed longer, but we will definitely be back.
