The bed in the first floor Library Suite is more than a century and a half old and came from the famed Cameron family, historic Waco pioneers. It is a full bed. The private bath is adjacent in a room that is the same size as the bedroom, has a clawfoot tub with a handheld shower and two lavatories. Both rooms have fireplaces and ceiling fans and central heat and air and wireless internet access.
The Apricot Room, on the second floor of The Lighthouse, has a queen bed, central heat and air, ceiling fan, wireless internet access, TV-VCR, a private shower bath down the hall and a refrigerator in the hall. The $95 room has room for an optional rollaway for the Extra Person charge of $25/night.

A restored turn-of-the-century Queen Anne home, The Lighthouse was built in 1894, and is the longest operating historic B&B near the President George W. Bush Ranch. The ambiance is that of 'going home to Grandma's', with the right romance and charm to make your getaway perfect. Featuring a truly Victorian atmosphere, The Lighthouse offers a quiet tranquil stay, whether in the lovely rooms (each decorated with cherished family antiques and other selected antiques arranged in a romantic setting and each with it's own private bath), out on the wrap-around front porch in a swing or rocking chair, or out in the garden gazebo. The inn is located in McGregor (greater Waco), midway between Dallas-Fort Worth and Austin, Texas, and just eight miles from Crawford. PLEASE NOTE: Because we are on several online reservation systems and also receive requests to book rooms directly via phone and e-mail, please do not assume a reservation is confirmed until you receive a confirmation that has the names of both Jerry and Jan on it. We use this extra precaution to prevent double bookings.

This is a very nice place to stay in a quiet neighborhood. We checked in later than we expected but had no problems with that. The Walters are very accommodating and breakfast was very good. Great place to stay in McGregor.

Our stay was truly delightful. It was a charming historic home in a quaint town. Very comfortable and very cozy. The hosts went out of the way to accommodate us, especially my wife with a gluten free breakfast. It truly was a perfect getaway for us and we will likely return. Jerry and Jan our so hospitable. Perfect place to relax and enjoy a quiet town outside Waco, very reasonably priced, especially for homecoming weekend. Excellent breakfast and nice clean rooms (all unique). My wife and I stayed here on our wedding night and found Jerry the owner very helpful. We where unable to make the breakfast part of our bed and breakfast, but have been invited back any time to have that as it is part of the price we paid. I would recommend the Lighthouse to any one.

The Lighthouse was the perfect place for our visit to the Waco area.The Walters were excellent host,the facility tranquil and peaceful as it got us away from the madness of the track meet visitors in Waco.My grandchildren even survived without TV, Play Station and we had several good games of Monopoly and Sorry. Breakfast was always a pleasure and delicious and served in grand style in the main house. Thanks for a wonderful stay. The Warners-Dayton,TX.

I spent the night at the Lighthouse B&B on 6/8/2009 and had a great experience. I was traveling for business. Jerry is a great host. I have to have a gluten free breakfast and they were so accomdating. Jerry even researched how to make gluten free pancakes. They were great.

From Dallas-Fort Worth, continue on I-35 south past Baylor through Waco past New Road to Exit 330. Go right off I-35 onto Hwy 6 (which is also called W. Loop 340). Exit at Hwy 84 and go west 14 miles to McGregor. There are three traffic lights in McGregor. The first is at Hwy 84 and Hwy 317. Turn left onto Hwy 317 (which is also Main Street). Pass through the next light and turn right at the third light onto W. 6th Street. Go one-half mile and turn right onto S. Harrison Street. The Lighthouse is one block on your left at the corner of W. 5th St. and S. Harrison St. From Austin, either take Exit 293 for Hwy 317-N at Belton or Exit 294-B, going west on E. 6th Avenue, and turning right onto Hwy 317-N. Go north on Hwy 317 through Moody. At McGregor, Hwy 317 becomes Main Street. Turn left at the first traffic light onto W. 6th Street. Go one-half mile and turn right onto S. Harrison Street.
