What a beautiful location and accommodations. Pat and Byron are the most gracious and thoughtful hosts with a great knowledge of the area. Great conversations at breakfast while enjoying a magnificent meal. Will definitely return with family and pooch!

This was a fabulous bed and breakfast out in the country while still close to Austin. Pat and Byron were very friendly and the breakfast was amazing!

This was our second visit and we had a wonderful and relaxing time (along with our three Miniature Schnauzers!). The breakfasts are so delicous, made from organic farm products, eggs, vegetables, fruits and the portions are large. We did not need to eat again until 3:00 or 4:00 PM each day. Pat and Byron are the perfect host and hostess. The cabins are excellently appointed for both people and pets! We just cannot say enough about what a winderful time we have each time we visit !!

My husband, our greyhound son, and I just completed our second stay at Decker Creek. Once again, all three of us had a wonderful time. The hosts, Pat, Byron and their three dogs were friendly and welcoming. We stayed in cabin one. Each time, there was another party in cabin two. We enjoyed chatting with the hosts and other guest(s) during breakfast, and it was refreshing to be in the company of other dog lovers. Speaking of breakfast, it is home-cooked and absolutely scrumptious. The hosts accommodated both my vegetarian diet and my husband's non-vegetarian diet. The property is the ideal place for a dog to run, sniff, explore and even take a swim. And for those doing agility, there is even an agility field guests are welcome to use. Decker Creek is in a remote, relaxing location yet not far from Austin. It is the perfect getaway. I try to patronize primarily dog-friendly businesses, and Decker Creek is our favorite B&B. We hope to return soon.

Cabins are separated by forest and out of view of each other. Cabins are well set up with open floor plan and large screened porch with swing and a great view. Very well kept cabins are great for couples or a small family, hiking trails & creek on the property. Breakfast was awesome!

Everything about Decker Creek Bed,Breakfast, and Biscuit is well thought out and totally relaxing. The owners make homemade country breakfast, the cabins have everything you need and more , and our dog enjoyed the 30 ancres and the creek to play in! We are going back in February and cannot wait! Thank you Pat and Byron for making our 10th wedding anniversary one to remember. You have a wonderful establishment!

We loved staying there! Our dogs loved it, too. Exploring the property and playing with the host's dogs! Breakfasts were great with dogs!

My dogs and I had a wonderful, relaxing long-weekend getaway at Decker Creek. The property and cabin (#1, Hilltop) were wonderful. My dogs loved the fenced yard, screened porch, and the creek, and I appreciated the attention to detail -- from the local bath products to the comfy pillows to the dog towels and homemade dog biscuits. Full country breakfasts were delicious, made even more pleasant by the company of the delightful hosts and their fur children. I was invited to bring my dogs to breakfast but chose to enjoy Beau, Razr, and Shiva instead. Pat cheerfully accommodated my special dietary requests. If you're looking for a relaxing, comfortable getaway with your dogs, look no further. Pat & Byron go out of their way to make their guests feel like family. We'll definitely be back!

We are so thankful to have found Decker Creek B&B&B! We wanted to bring our dogs along with us on this trip so that we could do some outdoor activities with them. Decker Creek was more than we could have hoped for--great owners (Byron and Pat), great food (you will not go hungry at breakfast!), great opportunity for getting out with the dogs on the property, and a great cabin with a huge fenced-in yard for the pups! Decker Creek was the perfect place for us, and we so very much enjoyed our stay! We will definitely be back! And you should come visit, too. ;)

All I can say is amazing! I stayed four nights with my 2 Labs. The cabin was perfect - super comfortable and clean (no way you'd know dogs stayed there if you weren't told!), and the fenced back yard was huge. The bed was better than in most hotels, nice big shower and the screened porch was a perfect place to relax after a long day. More than anything, it was the "little things" - boots of varying sizes for walking the Labs after it had rained; plenty of doggie towels, even for my water-loving girls; a supply of DVDs and books; and, of course, the yummy of dog biscuits. I was there on business, but being able to take my dogs with me to such a lovely place made it feel a lot less like work. And Pat & Byron a true gems. If you're like me and have a hard time finding places to stay with the four-legged members of your family, look no further in the Austin area. And even if you don't have dogs, treat yourself to a peaceful weekend at Decker Creek. I will unquestionably be back!

If you want wonderful country getaway only 14 miles from Austin, go to Decker Creek! If you love your dogs and want to bring them with you and share the most wonderful experience-go to Decker Creek! if you want gourmet organic breakfast made with products from local farm market - go to Decket Creek!! I can continue indefinitely, that's how much we loved it!! Ad we do stay in a lot of B&B's!!!!!

Joining Pat & Byron & their dogs and ours for breakfast was a treat for people and dogs alike! Hiking, sitting on the porch watching the cardinals , or just watching a movie -- all great!

I had been searching for a place I could take my dog along when I traveled to Austin area for business. Many places say they are "dog friendly" but they don't make it easy to travel with my pet. Decker Creek B&B&B was perfect for that! I stayed in cabin #2 and highlights included the fenced back yard with lounge chairs and hammock, the outdoor dog shower (I didn't use it but see how it would come in handy if we go through the creek next time), the huge screend in front porch where I could enjoy the wildlife sounds and cool breeze without worrying about bugs, the awesomely comfortable bed, the wonderful homemade breakfast! It was far enough outside Austin to feel like I was in the country but close enough to get to where I needed to go for work (Arboretum area) in less than 25 minutes. Can't wait to return!!
5 on December 06, 2011
My husband and I visited Decker Creek for our 30 year anniversary. Along with our two dog-children, Beethova and Fisher. We really enjoyed the cabins, and our babies loved everything! They even joined us for the fabulous breakfast both mornings! We will return as soon as we can!! Everything you can think of is in the cabins waiting for your stay - I don't think they've forgotten one single detail! Thanks for the wonderful weekend!!

This bed and breakfast is amazing for people visitors & dogs alike! The cabins are well thought out and well supplied, the breakfasts are amazing and the quite peaceful environment is perfect for relaxation. Now, down to the doggy fun....Blankets, towels and sheets provided for those dogs who like chillin' on the furniture. Fenced in backyard for unsupervised playtime, homemade cookies just for the "kids", bowls and toys provided, PLUS a field, a forest and a creek to hang out in. Everyone who visits LOVES it!

We had a great time at the B&B&B! The place is beautiful and the hosts have thought of everything you or your dog could need. We can't wait for the next chance to come back and stay again.

Very secluded, private log cottages built for dog lovers or anyone that wants to stay in a natural setting. The pictures on their site are accurate as possible - very nice, very cozy. Fenced-in backyards are spacious enough for pets to run around without getting loose. Also, there is a hammock, a chiminea fire pit, picnic table and bbq pit for relaxed fun. These 2 B&B houses are located just east of the 130 tollway, over the hill where all you hear is birds, owls and the occasional furry creature. The patios are screened off to keep out the bugs with an outdoor ceiling fan to give you a cool breeze. Bonus: the whirlpool tub, although looks small in the photos, is very spacious and comfortably fits two adults. Small packages of lavender bubble bath and organic soap are ready when you are to take a nice hot dip. I was told each cottage has 2 hot water heaters. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the bath. I would definitely recommend the Decker Creek cottages to anyone needing a quiet getaway, anyone with pets, and still be within 10 minutes of Austin. Thanks. Mike & Michelle

My husband and I spent 2 days and nights here with our two dogs. The location was outstanding for us as we needed some peace and quiet while appreciated the closeness to Austin. The cabin was beautiful! Large windows all round. Large fenced in yard. Lots of trees. Pat and Byron thought of everything to make our stay a joy. A fully stocked kitchen and batch, treats and toys for our girls, games and books for us, a large jaccuzi tub, screened in porch with rocking chairs, all the stuff for grilling out, a beautiful creek area with 30 acres beyond, plenty of running and walking space.....I could go on and on! This is the first place we've gone where our pets were actually welcomed and appreciated instead of just tollerated. We will be back again and again!

My husband and I stayed here last weekend for a quick getaway. We brought our dog, who completely enjoyed herself, between swimming in the creek, fetching sticks, running around the property, playing in the yard of the cabin, running around the agility course, and just all around having a great time. My husband and I also loved the B&B. The cabin was very nice and came with a nice open yard with a BBQ grill and picnic table. I lounged in the hammock in the yard, as well, which was nice. The breakfasts were hearty and delicious. When we arrived, homemade cookies -- a few for us humans and a few more for dogs -- awaited us in the cabin, and we received some to take on the road when we left. We will definitely be back, sooner rather than later.

Pat and Byron Rathbun have thought of everything to make a getaway with friends, family and/or pets a pleasant experience. From home baked cookies and dog biscuits on arrival to a scrumptious 'stick to your ribs' breakfast, this place is a real treat! Dogs have plenty of room to run, swim and explore on the acreage. Fenced in private yard as well. Would highly recommend!

It is rare to find a place with a yard for the dogs. We had a wonderful time in the woods and they loved swimming in the creek. It was very relaxing. The breakfasts were wonderful as well. I'll be going back when I need to get away from it all.

I don't know who enjoyed our stay more - us, or our 2 German Shephers. Everything was perfect and the breakfasts were absolutely delectable. We'll be back!

We had a wonderful stay, and our dogs enjoyed it too. The bed was comfortable and the breakfasts were heavenly. The cabin was basic, clean, well stocked, and nicely laid out. The fenced in yard was muddy, but very much appreciated by the dogs. Hiking around the property was fun.
5 on October 08, 2009
This B&B far exceeded all expectations. There was absolutely nothing the owners didn't think of. The cabin was tastefully decorated and every detail was attended to. They accommodated everything for our furry friends as well. We will definitely return.

The entire weekend at Decker Creek was a dream come true. The cabin was clean, nicely appointed, comfortable, and private. The accommodations were wonderful and Pat's cooking and baking are out of this world good! Due to an injury I suffered before my trip, I was not able to hike the property as I had hoped, but Pat and Byron were so friendly and kind they took us on a tour in their Ranger. The warm and welcoming atmosphere is something I will come back to again and again!

Went to Austin for Labor Day weekend to do some hiking with my husband and dogs. Found Decker Bed and Breakfast on the internet and what a find! We stayed in the treehouse cabin and it was very cute, clean and dog friendly. There is a ton of land for you and your dogs to wander around and even though Austin was having a serious drought there was still water in the creek running through the land. The breakfast was the best I've ever had at a B&B. We even got a doggie bag on our way out with dog treats and some home grown peppers and egg plant. I'd recommend this place to anyone travelling with dogs.

Let me begin by saying that we had an AMAZING time and can't wait to return!!! My husband, 2 dogs (Gabby & George) and I stayed in the Treehouse cabin. We found it to be exceptionally clean, well designed & comfortable. If I didn't know that dogs were allowed, I wouldn't have been able to tell. Thought was clearly given to both human AND dog comforts. Everything you might need was provided. The fenced backyard is large, has a deck with table, seating and a blue doggy pool. The screened front porch was fantastic for reading, listening to the peace and quiet of nature without the hassle of bugs, and drying the dogs. My husband especially loved the cookies and muffins. The daily breakfasts were fantastic. The food was heavenly. I would go on but I might start drooling. Speaking of drool, the dogs loved the homemade dog biscuits! I was a little concerned about taking a vacation with my dogs because they don't always have the best manners. I had nothing to be concerned about. While the dogs didn't get their angel wings while we were there, Pat, Byron and the other guests completely understood and made us all feel very comfortable. My husband and I truly enjoyed our entire stay, and Gabby & George give Decker Creek B&B&B 8 paws up and plan on taking us to visit again soon.

We were greatly impressed by Decker Creek. First time in a B & B and vacationing with our dog. Everything was perfect.
5 on May 29, 2009
Absolutely wonderful and dog-friendly B&B just 10 miles east of Austin, right next to an organic farmer who also provides most of the food for breakfast which by itself would be worth the price you pay. The cabins are luxurious, huge, and most important super-clean, and you will have a hard time finding even a single dog hair. In addition, they are accompanied by a vast and fenced-in backyard, which even includes a Weber grill and charcoal. There is really nothing you have to bring because everything is provided (from Tabasco sauce to umbrellas and mosquito repellant), and if you're missing something just ask the loving and caring owners Byron and Pat for it. We have been there three times so far, and we plan on many more visits in the near future! And our dog Buddy already gets wet paws just from thinking about it…

We quite enjoyed our stay for a little R&R in the hill country. Our cabin #2 The Treehouse, was a perfect fit for us and our black lab, Roxy. She loved swimming in the creek and drying off on the deck in the back yard. The breakfasts were scrumptious and we couldn't wait for the next morning. Our hosts were so friendly and having our pup and their pups play was fun to watch. We were so pleased to find this dog friendly B&B and have the little vacation we needed! Thanks Decker Creek! If you are looking for the ultimate dog-friendly weekend getaway in the Texan hill country - this is the place. Well-maintained & equipped cabins are dog safe and extremely clean. Great amenities. Delicious breakfast. Wine country tours (to dog-friendly wineries and otherwise) are a fun day trip, but there's plenty of room to hike around the cabin.
5 on January 14, 2009
My friend and I and her dog decided this would be fun. It was much more than we expected. I have never eaten such good food as I did here. The cabins are beautiful and well-thought-out for the comfort of both the dog and the human guests. You can order ahead and get them to get steaks which you can then grill out, with all grill supplies already there for you. Everything was so lovely and welcoming, including the owners' dogs! I highly recommend it for a very peaceful beautiful time.

My stay at Decker Creek was fantastic! Beautiful cabins with great attention to detail. The owners were delightful and the breakfasts were exactly what I wanted! This is the best place to go for a getaway for any length, especially if you have a dog. I truly hope to get back there some day!

Decker Creek B&B&B is the best place I have been to with my boxer dogs! Our hosts were wonderful, the property is beautiful, and it is all dog accommodating!

We had a wonderful time. The cabin was clean and had everything needed for us and the dogs (We have 3.) Special chest with dog towels and sheets. Galoot, Wendy and Sam were very pleased with the home made dog biscuits. Breakfasts for humans were exquisite and our hosts were so kind. Plenty of room to stretch your legs or play in the creek. It is near enough to the city but feels secluded. We can't wait to return.

We just returned from our weekend getaway and this was the first time I, as the Mom with 2 active boys, was truly rejuvenated. The cabin was amazing, the food exceptional, the property wonderful, and the hosts fantastic! Pat and Byron treated us better than family. :) We will definitely return to this dog-friendly B&B!!

Upon an early arrival, the aroma of freshly baked muffins filled the driveway, where we met the Rathburn's. The reception was very warm and friendly. We had booked cabin #2 for our stay. It was quite cozy and perfect for our night there. The cabin was very clean and all the amenities were just right. After a good night's rest, we gathered our belongings and headed to the main house for a custom cooked breakfast. WOW! The food, drink, and conversation was awesome. No heat-up meal here. Everything was fresh and if I'm correct - organic. All in all, it was an excellent time of relaxation. Next time, we will try cabin #1. L. and S. Gibson

Absolutely fantastic! Wonderful breakfast, the cabins are beyond heavenly and Byron and Pat put lots of TLC into their B&B and their guests. We couldn't have been more pleased!
5 on September 29, 2008
We just needed a place to stay after Hurricane Ike that had electricity, and where we could take our animals. I just happened onto their website, and they just happened to have a cancellation. We stayed with our dog and three cats. The rooms were gorgeous, very clean, the cabin was very well constructed with many extra thoughtful touches. Pat and Byron were friendly and helpful, breakfasts were gourmet! Their generous help extended to our animals as well - specially made dog biscuits and bedding mats for the dog, a towel hamper for the "dog towels" when you washed the dog, big fenced yard for dog. An absolutely terrific place to stay with or without your animals.
5 on September 20, 2008
We've visited twice in as many months & have already made plans for a 3rd visit. The calendar can book early out but it's worth the wait! My husband & I are expecting a baby very soon & wanted a "getaway" for us & our dog. We love the privacy of the Treehouse & can't wait to bring the baby for a test run! Everything you'd need is at your fingertips, from wonderful memory foam mattresses, extra pillows & blankets to fresh flowers, fruit & homemade cookies/biscuits to doggy shower needs. They've even thought of an outdoor grill (charcoal & tools too!), comfy patio seating, & a hammock in the fenced-in backyard, ice chest & bench swing on the screened in porch, & bug spray. There's a great trail for walkabouts & a creek for your 4-legged pal to wade through. Animals seen, besides other dogs: armadillos, rabbits, horses, & birds (egrets, tufted titmouse, chickadees)! This morning, we were drinking coffee on the porch listening to the roosters crowing & cows baying at the nearby farm. The locally made bath amenities are the perfect addition to the Jacuzzi bath, plush bathrobes, slippers & fluffy towels. It's just starting to be a bit chilly in the mornings, so the heated bath fan is a wonderful treat after a morning shower! The Wi-Fi connection is great for those who simply can’t detach from the outside world. Decker Creek is also in a perfect location for day trips to Hill Country sites like Enchanted Rock, Spicewood Vineyards, & other Austin area sites. Finally, I cannot say enough about Pat's wonderful breakfasts! Besides the to-die-for coffee, it's hard to make a decision when it's your turn to choose what's for breakfast: Pancakes/French Toast/Waffles with fresh fruit, homemade cinnamon rolls, local sausages & bacon, ham-cheese-& -egg mini-soufflés, mmm...you can even bring your well-behaved 4-legged beast to join you! I wish we could keep it our little secret, but it's such a special place, we have to share!

What an awesome vacation for families with or without dogs. Loved the organic food!

My husband, my dog, and I stayed at Decker for two nights and had a wonderful time. We chose to have our breakfasts family-style with the BBB owners, and the food was delicious and the atmosphere warm and inviting. We stayed in cabin #1 which is quite lovely, incredibly well-kept, immaculate, and comfortable, and the grounds are beautiful. The dog biscuits and human cookies upon arrival were a smash, and the owners have thought of every amenity for dogs traveling with their owners, including dog bathing area, special dog towels, bowls, treats, and trails. We can't say enough good things about Decker, and highly recommend this BB (and B!) for those wanting to vacation with the entire family, the two-legged and the four-legged!
5 on June 23, 2008
This was our first stay in a "pet friendly" BB&B & it was everything we expected & much more. There were plenty of trails for our dog to explore with us off leash & a creek where he could try his first water experience. Pat & Byron even invited the dogs from the cabins to join them & their dogs for breakfast. They thought of everything, in the way of amenities, for 2 & 4-legged guests, from the jacuzzi pool in the cabin to pet bowls, sheets & towels. It was the most relaxing weekend we've had in a very long time & we didn't have to pay to board our dog elsewhere-- he got to travel with us. That was a special treat! It's only 2 hours from Houston, so we're planning to make Decker Creek BB&B a regular weekend getaway.

I cannot say enough good things about my stay at Decker Creek Bed, Breakfast and Biscuit. Gourmet breakfasts, long, scenic, walks with the dogs, quiet evenings in the Rocking Chair on the screened in porch. Finally a place to go where dogs are not only welcome, but encouraged! Perfect in every way!

We had the opportunity to stay at Decker Creek this summer and it was the best experience we had ever had!!! Pat and Byron were fabulous. Breakfast was wonderful. The cabin was beautiful. We are looking forward to going back sometime soon.

I enjoyed the jaccuzi tub, homeade cookies for me AND my dog, the scenery, privacy of the cabin, PLUSH bathrobes, fabulous coffee, and the bacon was the best I've ever had. My dog enjoyed the long walks, and the HUGE fenced in area to run around, and the creek! He's never been so interested in swimming before! Jon loved the screened-in patio, the huevos rancheros made with farm fresh eggs! The other dogs there (Mattie and Cleo) the secluded'ness of the cabin, the ALL MEMORY FOAM bed, the rocking chairs, the helpfulness of Pat and Byron. We can't wait to go back to Decker Creek. Pat and Byron were FABULOUS!
