Have stayed at the Woodrow House on several visits to Lubbock to see my daughter at Texas Tech. It has never disappointed us! The staff is very friendly and they are great cooks too. The breakfast was perfect, and it provided an opportunity to meet other guests at the large dining room table. Great atmosphere throughout the house. You feel like you are visiting family! We didn't have a chance to use the pool, but it looks very clean and inviting. There are games outside, including chess and backgammon built into the deck. Overall outstanding option!!

The character and attention to details of the Woodrow House are outstanding. Hosts are nice and available for any need, the rooms are clean and the deco is one of the prettiest I have ever seen! Much attention was dedicated to make Woodrow House fit in the architectural context of 19th street, and the interiors, both rooms and common area, are up to par with the exterior of the house. Loved every bit of my stay!

Our daughter is wrapping her 4th year at Tech. This is the first time my husband and I were able to stay at Woodrow House, which is only 2 blocks from her house! It was also our first B&B experience. We didn't know what to expect, but everything was fantastic. The Presidential room was clean and spacious. The private bathroom was HUGE and the double shower was a plus. Wish we had that kind of water pressure at home! I usually have issues sleeping away from home, but the bed was extremely comfortable. We are hoping to book for our next two trips up to Lubbock to visit our daughter. Highly recommend Woodrow House to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay.

My friend Roland and I had such a marvelous stay at the Woodrow House B & B. Becky was exceptionally courteous in arranging a late notice reservation on our end. The house itself is beautiful, designed into the very details, with lovely fellow guests and helpful stay. Wouldn't want to stay anywhere else when visiting Lubbock, Texas.

My husband, son and I stayed overnight on a Friday. We're very frequent B&B visitors, so our standards may be higher than others because we've been to so many great places. Our stay was just fine, but there are a couple of things that I didn't realize from Woodrow's website that may be of interest to others. First, when we look for a place with a hot tub, we expect to be able to use it - especially in cooler weather because that's what they're best for. However, we were told by the owner that we could not use the hot tub because it would take too long to heat up. I had promised my son a dip in the tub, so this did not make me happy. Second, the configuration of the caboose's "bath" area isn't good for those who want privacy. You must get naked in full view of anyone in the bedroom area. I'd suggest that the owners install a pocket door or at least another curtain to close off that area.
We appreciate all the feedback we get from our customers, both publicly through online reviews, and privately via emails and other direct communications. It is through this give and take from our customers that we can continually improve the "Woodrow House Experience" for our repeat and future guests. In our Caboose, which is a real piece of Americana railroad history (retired), we could only do so much when we remodeled it back in 1998. While we do have a privacy curtain between the shower area and the living room area, and a pocket door to separate the toilet and vanity from the hallway, we need to remember, it is a Caboose. It is made up of essentially two open areas (front and back) connected by a short hallway under the cupola. We do have 9 other rooms in our B&B, all with private baths, that would allow more opportunity for modesty when showering and dressing. On our outdoor hot tub, it is a 16 person, 3500 gallon hot tub. It's big. It's also connected to our pool. We do not keep it hot every day all year long. We heat it up by request in the winter (March 6 was the date of this stay), but it only heats up at about 10 degrees per hour. To go from 33 degrees to 103 degrees would take about 6-7 hours. The request for the hot tub was made about 5 pm. The pool and hot tub close at 10 pm. We thought we had explained the heat up time requirements adequately. We understand that sometimes people have their heart set on getting in the hot tub during the winter and we do our best to accommodate them. We have since added the word (seasonal) to our hot tub and pool info on our website so that we can possibly eliminate any future misunderstanding with winter desires for the hot tub. We appreciate your feedback and are glad your young son had such a unique and fun time in the Caboose.

We recently stayed for 3 nights and were basically snowed in. The Woodrow House is my favorite place to stay in Lubbock anytime, but if you have to be snowed in somewhere, this is the place to be. The owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming. There was a fire going in the fire place, a puzzle to work on, TV and movies available. I also took a nap every day in my very comfortable bed. Breakfast, as always is such a delight. Homebaked goods, plenty of fresh fruit and such a great way to make new friends. I cannot express in words how much I enjoy staying at the Woodrow House and I can't wait to stay there again!

Even though it was a little expensive because I'm a college student it was still worth every penny. My boyfriend and Me stayed for two nights for an anniversary and it was amazing. The rooms are extremely clean and comes with everything a big hotel has. The bath/shower was old fashion but it was a fun experience and did not affect the stay at all. In fact it actually added to the experience. It comes with breakfast that is cooked in front of you and complementary soda, snacks, and wine. The beds are comfortable and the room comes with cable. When my boyfriend comes and visits me again we are defiantly going back!
