My husband, son and I stayed overnight on a Friday. We're very frequent B&B visitors, so our standards may be higher than others because we've been to so many great places. Our stay was just fine, but there are a couple of things that I didn't realize from Woodrow's website that may be of interest to others. First, when we look for a place with a hot tub, we expect to be able to use it - especially in cooler weather because that's what they're best for. However, we were told by the owner that we could not use the hot tub because it would take too long to heat up. I had promised my son a dip in the tub, so this did not make me happy. Second, the configuration of the caboose's "bath" area isn't good for those who want privacy. You must get naked in full view of anyone in the bedroom area. I'd suggest that the owners install a pocket door or at least another curtain to close off that area.
We appreciate all the feedback we get from our customers, both publicly through online reviews, and privately via emails and other direct communications. It is through this give and take from our customers that we can continually improve the "Woodrow House Experience" for our repeat and future guests. In our Caboose, which is a real piece of Americana railroad history (retired), we could only do so much when we remodeled it back in 1998. While we do have a privacy curtain between the shower area and the living room area, and a pocket door to separate the toilet and vanity from the hallway, we need to remember, it is a Caboose. It is made up of essentially two open areas (front and back) connected by a short hallway under the cupola. We do have 9 other rooms in our B&B, all with private baths, that would allow more opportunity for modesty when showering and dressing. On our outdoor hot tub, it is a 16 person, 3500 gallon hot tub. It's big. It's also connected to our pool. We do not keep it hot every day all year long. We heat it up by request in the winter (March 6 was the date of this stay), but it only heats up at about 10 degrees per hour. To go from 33 degrees to 103 degrees would take about 6-7 hours. The request for the hot tub was made about 5 pm. The pool and hot tub close at 10 pm. We thought we had explained the heat up time requirements adequately. We understand that sometimes people have their heart set on getting in the hot tub during the winter and we do our best to accommodate them. We have since added the word (seasonal) to our hot tub and pool info on our website so that we can possibly eliminate any future misunderstanding with winter desires for the hot tub. We appreciate your feedback and are glad your young son had such a unique and fun time in the Caboose.

We recently stayed for 3 nights and were basically snowed in. The Woodrow House is my favorite place to stay in Lubbock anytime, but if you have to be snowed in somewhere, this is the place to be. The owners and staff are so friendly and welcoming. There was a fire going in the fire place, a puzzle to work on, TV and movies available. I also took a nap every day in my very comfortable bed. Breakfast, as always is such a delight. Homebaked goods, plenty of fresh fruit and such a great way to make new friends. I cannot express in words how much I enjoy staying at the Woodrow House and I can't wait to stay there again!

Even though it was a little expensive because I'm a college student it was still worth every penny. My boyfriend and Me stayed for two nights for an anniversary and it was amazing. The rooms are extremely clean and comes with everything a big hotel has. The bath/shower was old fashion but it was a fun experience and did not affect the stay at all. In fact it actually added to the experience. It comes with breakfast that is cooked in front of you and complementary soda, snacks, and wine. The beds are comfortable and the room comes with cable. When my boyfriend comes and visits me again we are defiantly going back!

A friend of mine recommended Woodrow House B&B to me when I mentioned I needed to find a place to stay in Lubbock, and I am SO glad she did! I have stayed twice now with Dawn and David, both times in the 50s room. They are both so down-to-earth and friendly and welcoming. It feels like coming home at the end of a long work-day, when you arrive at Woodrow House. The rooms are pristine and so cozy. The beds are really comfy! Each morning, Dawn makes an AMAZING breakfast, and we get to chat with anyone else who is staying there. I have met all kinds of neat people during my 2 stays, and Iook forward each morning to meeting more new people. There is always cold water, sodas, and chilled wines, hot tea, cookies and candies in the entryway, and you are welcome to them anytime. I especially appreciate the dry white wine at the end of the day. I look forward to my next stay at Woodrow House.

My boyfriend and I spent one night at the Woodrow House in Lubbock on our way out west and had a great experience. The house was beautiful and our room was just off the downstairs living area. It was quiet, pretty, and very relaxing. Plus, David makes some amazing french toast! Will definitely try to stay here again on my next trip up to Lubbock.

Our host was soooo nice. He showed us his photo bookof how the caboose got to his backyard and the story behind it then him and my husband stayed in the living room watching the Cowboys play. We were there visiting Texas Tech for our daughter who is a senior in high school this year and we also used his house and "the caboose" for some of her senior pictures. They came out so good!! We stayed in the caboose and it was great, comfortable bed, very clean and snacks and water left for us and the host had wine in the house for us. The breakfast the next morning was amazing! Willl definitely stay here again and again when my daughter is at school at Tech.
