A beautiful setting and every amenity to help enjoy it! The new gas fire pit with timer was particularly enjoyable. Great bath products and we liked the Independence Coffee Co's Jet Fuel so much we tracked it down and bought a bag for home. We would have liked more fresh veg, fruit and herbs with the meals but our fellow guests were on their 5th and 7th visits so the menus are obviously a hit with others. Plus the cooks mentioned that with some advance notice, they're happy to adjust food items. A wonderful place to experience Hill Country peace and quiet.

My wife and I have taken very few trips due to our busy work schedules. When we do get out, we like to do it right. The Inn Above Onion Creek exceeded all of our expectations. This was our first visit, but it won't be our last. We spent several weeks touring European cities years ago. The accommodations, service, and food here were every bit as good.

Perfectly charming and relaxing getaway. Every need and comfort was provided for. We will be returning again and again!

Our kids gave us a weekend get-away for our 50th. What a great time!! The staff was great the food was excellent. The accomodations and the surroundings were out-o-sight!! Would recommend to anyone who is looking for a great place to find romance with that special love!!!

We spent 2 days at the Inn to celebrate my engagement to my (now) fiancee, and it was fantastic. The reviews in TripAdvisor were spot on - beautiful setting, the rooms were spacious, clean, cozy, comfortable (though not sure why the beds were so high!); the food was very well prepared and of adequate portions; the staff was very friendly and accomodating. We loved taking walks around the grounds near the creek (though it's dry, from the drought) and the peace in the air was truly relaxing. We were lucky to have great weather as well. The guests were also very interesting and friendly. Their DVD collection and satellite dish TV service allowed for a great way to unwind with a movie after dinner. It was a magical way to spend our first days of our engagement! We would love to come back and were sad to leave!

My husband and I have stayed at "Our Inn" as we call it several times-I think close to 20! We absolutely love this place. You may think the rates are high but with a gourmet dinner and breakfast included it can't be beat. Amy will take care of your every need. And you will meet the nicest people too. An A plus!!!!!

We celebrated our 3 year wedding anniversary here and had the best time! The scenery is serene and beautiful. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing! Our room was upgraded to the Kuykendahl suite prior to arrival after a plumbing issue, so we arrived to a nice surprise and enjoyed every minute of the beautiful decor, remote controlled fireplace, spacious bathroom with jacuzzi tub and huge shower for two. Perfectly romantic getaway! We definitely plan to return again and will recommend this to our couples friends.

This Inn is the first on our list when we need a relaxing getaway. The grounds are wonderful, the food is delicious (room rate includes a 3-course dinner and full breakfast), and the rooms are luxurious. We always stay two nights. We also love their repeat visitor rewards. Once you arrive you won't want to leave!

Breath taking is only way I know how to begin. From the moment my fiance and I arrived till the moment we left, we were just taken back by the beautiful location, the hospitality from the staff and other guests and how modern but yet rustic the decor of the entire establishment was. The dining room took me back to when i was a young man having entire family dinners on Sunday afternoons, but it was every night of our stay. When the food came out, it was just an explosion of amazing flavors, fresh produce and they even took into account my fiance's food allergies. We visited the near by wineries and enjoyed our bottle with our dinner. Sitting on the porch during the night and enjoying being so far from day to day worries , our minds were so at ease. The atmoshpere just makes you feel right at home and you may find yourself never wanting to leave. Going from an amazing breakfast to a wonderful couples hot stone massage and then to an afternoon feast at the amazing well known famous BBQ/Winery and watching the sunset on another mountain top winery overlooking the vineyards was just a great cap off to the weekend we spent at the Inn. We are from Connecticut and I have already told many friends and family that if they want a true relaxing get away for a few days that this is the place. 30 minutes from the Austin airport and you have the city there as well. I just cant say enough about the amazing location, in the middle of the wine country and yet you still have the city so close. The couple from Connecticut

I have stayed here several times, in several rooms and it never fails to impress me. I love the rooms, food, the surroundings, and the hospitality. Amy and her staff always makes sure that our needs are met. The spa is also outstanding! The one thing I would imporve on is a larger meeting space. It is difficult at times to fit a group of 14 in the library for meetings. Thank you!

This was our first time here at the Inn. We were referred by close friends who have stayed and enjoyed it here many times. We knew when we drove onto the property that this was the place for us! Very nice, quiet and peaceful. The suite we stayed in was the Kuykendall. It was beyond what we expected and it made you feel as though you never wanted to leave the suite! Food was amazing and staff was very hospitable and friendly! We will be back for sure in the VERY near future! Loved it! L&G

My best girlfriend and I experienced the Girlfriends Getaway package--a birthday gift to my from my husband. We LOVED it!! The food was unbelievable. The spa experience was amazing. The entire staff was personable and helpful - we never had to ask for anything; it simple happened. We left on Sunday relaxed, rejuvenated and ready to visit again!

We sneaked off for 2 days midweek to celegrate our 20th anniversary and it was so relaxing. Amy is fantastic - the Inn's best kept secret, and the food is a close second. My husband surprised me with a spa package, and several hours were spent being pampered one morning. Lots of upgrades being planned - new firepit built and soon to be plumbed for on-demand fires while overlooking the hill country sunsets. I hope they add S'more kits to the cookie jars in the dining hall! Most of the other guests we met were repeat visitors - some as many as 6 and 8 times. We can see why, and are sure to be back - maybe next time with friends.

We got to stay in "The House" which is an amazing house with 3 bedrooms, 2 living rooms and a fireplace which was perfect for a cozy atmosphere. Our stay was perfect except for the fact that when they say dinner is at 6:00 you'd better plan on being in the dinning room at 6 on the dot! My husband and I were not following a tight schedule and we did get reprehended in front of all of the other guests. Breakfast is a bit more relaxed and the food was delicious.

The Inn provides my wife and I with everything we were looking for --a quiet place in the Texas Hill Country with no need to leave the grounds unless we chose to. Breakfast and dinner is included with lunch upon request, lots of deck areas and balconies to enjoy the views with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine we purchased at a local winery. walking trails, and a Spa on site for which we chose the side by side massage. The food was delicious and environment very friendly and causal. We plan to return in the Spring.

Enjoyed the Kuykendall Ste last Dec (2012) and enjoyed the Porter even more this Dec (2013)! You'll love the double-sided fireplace! Remains the most remarkable overnight stay in Central Texas. Breakfast and dinner were a delight ... never knew pork could taste that good! You will love your visit here and no doubt return for more.

The Inn was incredible! Romantic, peaceful, and has everything you need. My wife and I stayed for 4 nights as part of our honeymoon. The first 2 nights in Maurice's Cottage than in the Nance. The cottage was great for the 2 of us. Much more private than the other rooms and has it's own full kitchen and fireplace. The Nance was just as lovely and seemed slightlier romantic despite being on the third floor. The staff was so nice and the food was AMAZING. They were more than accomadating for lactose free meals. We picked up dinner each night and enjoyed in our room and had breakfast at the dining area. THe coffee and granola are to die for! THey also gave us 2 free mugs as a honeymoon gift!!! Thanks So So SO much!

My wife and I just had an incredible stay at the Inn Above Onion Creek in celebration of our 25th anniversary. Thelma's Cottage was amazing with access to beautiful trails. The staff were like family to each other AND the guests. I've never been made to feel more comfortable in a B&B or hotel/resort. The chef is absolutely INCREDIBLE!!! The 3 course dinner was so good, the entire dining room was silent except for the frequent "mmmmmm" and comments on how delicious it all was. I just can't believe dinner AND breakfast were included in the price! I can't wait to go back again and explore more of the trails!

It was a first-rate stay, just as we expected from our first visit. I have done some customer service and customer experience consulting stemming from when I managed events for a catering company, where I personally served and coordinated events for billionaires, celebrities, and even US Presidents. That said, and with varied experiences in our wide travels, I could not recommend the Inn's appeal, service, and experience higher! I will spread the word.

My husband and I come here every year for our anniversery. One of the few B & B's that offer a full gourmet breakfast and dinner (always delicious). We usually go to Wimberly Trade Days, visit a winery or two, Sunset Canyon Pottery and the outlet mall in San Marcos. Always a great weekend get a way.

Would go back in a heart beat if ever in the area. Great get away for those who live nearby also! Grounds, and Inn are wonderful, staff too!

This Inn is a terrific place to stay to discover the Hill Country. It is a place to unwind, relax and indulge in seriously yummy food, both breakfast and dinner. You never feel the need to do more than you like. Do. Not. Miss!

My husband and I chose this place for our first getaway as new parents. We wanted something close to home, but beautiful and relaxing. The Inn Above Onion Creek exceeded our expectations. It is so scenic driving up, and the view from our room (the Hays room) was exceptional. Each morning I woke up, got a cup of coffee, and sat on the balcony to enjoy the view. Talk abour relaxing. We also enjoyed the resident cats that would really love to sleep on your bed if you would let them. Unfortunately we only had 2 nights, but we will be back for sure as many times a year as we can. Do not hesitate booking this place, you will not be disappointed.

This inn offers the best food ever created. I would sleep in the car in the parking lot in order to eat here, but we had the great good fortune to be able to stay in Thelma's cottage. It was so clean and beautiful that I could not believe it. Just about perfect in every way.

Amy and her staff made our 35th Anniverary stay a memorable experience! We were overwhelmed by the service, exquisite menu, and the superb Kuykendall Suite; if you want peace & quiet and beautiful sunset views this is your place!

Needed a get-away from everyday "life" ... the peaceful atmosphere of the whole experience was amazing .... even got to see the deer each morning. The meals were superb as well as the staff were extremely accommodating ... This won't be my last visit.

I think the title of my review says it all. This place is absolutely amazing. My wife and I came here on for a mini honeymoon. We are already planning on coming back here for our anniversary. We have suggested this place to many people already. We will definitely be back to visit this place whenever we get a chance. The food is amazing, the views are amazing, and if you enjoy the outdoors then this is definitely the place for you. For people not familiar with Texas, come here. Beautiful setting away from city lights and noises. Gourmet breakfast and dinner! Lovely room designs with decadent bathrooms. So relaxing you will not want to leave!

Our room was one of their least expensive but the room was large with great balcony that had an incredible view. The breakfast and dinner which were included were fabulous. I have stayed at another high end b&b in the Wimberley area and this was the best value.

Attention to detail was apparent throughout. Lovely, restful setting with wonderful amenities. I'll return.

My husband and I were just at The Inn Above Onion Creek to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. This was our third stay, but we had not been there in several years. It was just as great as we remembered...maybe even better! We stayed in the Nance Suite and it was wonderful. Your innkeepers have thought of everything and your stay will be a time of relaxation and rest. We only live about 15 miles from here...but felt like we were a million miles away from real life! The property includes several walking trails - which we enjoyed. And, we saw many guests doing yoga on the porch looking out on the hill country views. The pool has one end shaded by trees and it's a great place to enjoy a cocktail and cool off. The food at the inn is wonderful. The first night we enjoyed a private meal in the library, complete with a lovely chocolate cake for our anniversary. We looked forward to each of our meals, as everything is so fresh. Bring a bottle of wine and enjoy the great food and service. With Wimberly close for shopping and several wineries just a few minutes away...this is a perfect "escape" for a special occation...or no special occation. We'll definitely be back!

Lovely stay in a very quiet location. The inn was wonderful with it's beautiful flowers and warm home feeling. We loved the family style kitchen and that the staff knew us by name in one day. They met my gluten allergies and the food was delicious. The room was great with the a/c cranked down for the hot Texas day. We also enjoyed the pool after touring with the grapes and olive package we bought. Great value! Everyone was so accommodating, we will definitely be back again.

What a lovely property! Our room was spacious and light. The small private porch proved the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon glass of wine. How can you beat watching a curious rabbit looking for his breakfast while you sip your first cup of cofee? The bed was exceptionally comfortable and the big sunken whirlpool tub in the bathroom was very relaxing. Both dinner and breakfast were excellent and I love the BYOB option. You can check the menu prior arrival and the Inn is happy to accomodate special diets and requests. The grounds and hiking trails give a great sense of the rugged hill country topography. The pool is perfect. I can't recommend this property enough.

Just returned from an extended honeymoon at The Inn. This was our first trip but definitely will NOT be our last! The food, service, and sunsets were wonderful. We enjoyed the friendly felines, the peace & quiet, the butterfly migration, and the friendly conversation with other guests during meals. We loved that the impeccable service was immediate when needed, but invisible when not needed. Our room was exceptionally clean when we arrived and the housekeeper cleaned it again while we were enjoying the area wineries even though we simply asked her for fresh towels (awesome!). The chef and kitchen staff was incredibly accommodating with our special dietary requests. In addition, they surprised us with our own private table the first night there (with a ceramic name plate announcing it was reserved especially for us) and even made up an incredible dinner tray for us our last evening there when we decided we'd like to have a private meal in our room. We can't believe this place EVER has vacancies -- but are sooooo glad it does! :)

My husband and I had the most amazing stay at Inn Above Onion Creek. Having moved all over the US this has been the best B&B we have ever stayed at. The dinner and breakfast at the B&B were fantastic. During our stay we enjoyed walking the trail directly behind the B&B and visiting nearby wineries. It was the perfect place to celebrate an anniversary. We hope to return soon!

We had heard from friends how lovely the Inn Above Onion Creek was and they were exactly right. We spent two nights during the week which was such a treat for us! The food was excellent! We lovely the online menu and were able to pair our wines because of this. (bringing our own wine was a wonderful perk) The breakfasts were delightful and delicious. We had drinks in the library, enjoyed the beautiful pool with its fantastic view and loved the grounds. We loved the decor of the rooms and rocking on the porches was such a treat. The staff made us feel special and they were very helpful - we couldn't have felt more welcomed! We plan to go again and enjoy the fireplaces in late fall or winter. My sister and I absolutely loved the Inn. We wish we were able to spend more time relaxing than just one night.. We will most certainly be venturing back to the Inn Above Onion Creek!!

I spent a long weekend at the Inn for a corporate board meeting. Would that I could have stolen away from business and lounged in this enjoyable setting. The Inn and cottages have been designed to look authentically historic and are extremely comfortable. Every staff person I encountered--from office personnel, to the kitchen staff, to the woman who arranges the flowers--were guest-responsive and so pleasant. A truly top notch place.

Had a wonderful overnight in the Martin room. Dinner was fabulous and watching the sunset from the balcony was peaceful and serene. The room was comfortable- my only suggestion is to update the shower- the clawfoot tub is more suited for bathing. Had a chance to walk the trail before breakfast and really enjoyed the garden, hummingbirds and butterflies. Really enjoyed the attentive staff and getting to know the other guests. Highly recommend for a tranquil, comfortable stay.

I cannot say enough about this piece of Texas heaven. The rooms, the hiking trails, the location, oh and the food. It is Afars experience and I enjoyed every moment of it and hope to come back .

We had a fantastic girl's weekend at the Inn. The four of us stayed in Thelma's Cottage and it was perfect. The accommodations were clean and cozy and the dinners and breakfast were outstanding. We had swedish massages that were out-of-this-world and then relaxed all day by the pool (that overlooks the expansive hill country views). Couldn't have asked for a better location or experience. We always felt very welcome and at home. Looking forward to the next opportunity when we can come back!

This is our second time at the inn. This time we stayed at one of the cottages. It was lovely!. The staff, the food, and the service was great as always. It never disappoints!!!

A great place for 4 to have a special weekend. The food was tasty and well presented. The swimming pool is very inviting and the sunsets are spectacular. There is lots to do in the area as well as being a very relaxing atmosphere if so desired.

My best friend and her daughter along with my daughter are getting married soon so we wanted to 'escape' for a mother-daughter weekend to celebrate this momenteous time in their lives. The 'Girl's Weekend' package was perfect for what we wanted to experience. I have to say that Innkeeper, Amy, was great in communicating with me... as well as answering all my questions since we had never stayed there before. From the ambiance to the suite to the spa services to the amazing meals... all was WONDERFUL. Our goal was to relax and enjoy each other's company. We had privacy when we wanted it but when we wanted to have a social experience, it was so easy to visit with the other guests... we met a lot of new friends as well as with the precious animals who reside at the Inn. Would we recommend Inn Above Onion Creek... YES! Would we return... YES! Awesome expereince. -suzi

Loved it! This my second stay at the Inn. Everyone there goes above and beyond to make all feel very comfortable and at home. Innkeeper Amy is wonderful! Food is delicious, and waitstaff is very friendly and right there!

We were looking for a place that we could go back to time and again. I believe we found it! We love the many porches with rocking chairs where we can watch the beautiful sunsets and other views. It's a great place to just relax. The food is great. With the trails, pool, spa, quiet places, comfortable rooms, breakfast/dinner included, options to add on lunch, you don't really need to leave the property. We will undoubtedly be back and will be recommending this to others.

We have stayed at the Inn Above Onion Creek many times over the past 14 years and each visit has been a delight. This place is truly someplace very special.

We stayed in the Porter room for 3 days/2 nights just as a mini getaway and this was perfect. The Inn is charming and the views are beautiful! Everyone we met, staff and guests, were all very friendly. The family style dinning was great because we got to meet and talk with some of the other guests, not to mention the food was outstanding! This is definitely a place i would recommend for anyone who just needs a break from everything!

The Inn Above Onion Creek is a fabulous place for rest and relaxation. The food is outstanding. Rooms a perfect blend of style, luxury and comfort. The area itself is filled with things to do from wonderful hikes on the property itself to day trips to the unique village of Wimberley or the great shopping in Fredericksburg. There are wineries and olive groves nearby. Don't miss the fabulous sunsets from the porches at the Inn. We stayed in the 3rd floor Schlemmer room and could not have been happier. We are already planning to go back when we can use the beautiful fireplace in the room! DLH, Cedar Park, TX

We stayed in Maurice's Guest Room and it was perfect for our 2-day getaway. Besides the sitting room with fireplace, we enjoyed sitting on the porch with a glass of wine in the evening and a cup of coffee in the morning. The bed was very comfortable and the entire room was really like staying in a friend's guest house. I love that they had "Bed Head" shampoo and conditioner and not the little hotel bottles. Both dinner and breakfast was delicious and there are cookies, microwave popcorn, tea, water and coffe available all day long if you need a snack. While enjoying a facial at the spa, my husband relaxed in the library to finish a book he brought on the trip. We met some wonderful people while enjoying our meals at a family style table. This was our first visit and we will definately return.

This was our 17th stay at this marvelous B&B, so obviously we are big fans. When we want to get away, we don't look anywhere else. A huge thank you to Amy and the staff as well as the chefs who accommodated my special dietary needs. It was wonderful as always. Thanks so much.

My wife and I stopped in here for a few days after our wedding and both absolutely loved this place. We stayed in Maurice's cottage for two nights, the room was very clean and the beds were comfy. The outdoor setting is extremely nice with a few walking trails and lots of peaceful and serene outdoor activities. The dinners are a family style with many different people all having dinner together. It was a great experience getting to know everyone that was at the inn over the weekend.

it was a wonderfful stay and would love to come back, will highly recommand. i would ask that if staying up on the 3rd floor, to have help w/bags. the last fleet w/poor knees is a killer.

This Inn is a gorgeous place for a getaway. It has all the feeling of a quaint and romantic B&B but practically all the amenities of a five star resort. The staff was wonderful and the food was out of this world...What do they put in those scones to make them soooo good? The grounds give you plently of places to relax and beautiful scenery to take in. Eventhough I am one to try new places everytime I go somewhere, I can not imagine booking with another place. I will go back more than once!

What could be better than the Texas Hill Country in the spring? Staying at the beautiful Inn above Onion Creek. The wild flowers, butterflies, birds, and the sound of one lone wild turkey at dusk were priceless. Add in a world-class massage, gourmet dinners and breakfasts, luxurious accommodations and service and you get a little bit of heaven. Maurice's Cottage is the perfect private get-away for two or more guests. Thank you Amy and staff for another perfect stay.

My stay at The Inn Above Onion Creek was the best of the best. I've enjoyed many wonderful inns and Onion Creek is top notch in every way. The cottage was welcoming and comfortable, the amenities were wonderful. The staff was warm and attentive and the food was superb. I'll be back.

Straight out of a postcard! Tranquil, relaxing, and just as all the pictures show. We went after seeing all of the other positive reviews, and we were not disappointed. We will definitely go back. The sooner the better. :)

As soon as I arrived, the staff was more then friendly! They came out and greeeted me Before I even got to the porch. All the staff, to include the chefs, did everything they could to make my stay as luxury as they could. The rooms were exceptionally clean and wonderful! The food was delicious and they catered to my likes and dislikes! I look forward to many more getaways At the Inn!

Location is great! Easy to get to and not far from Wimberly, wine trail, Austin and San Marcos, but is also quiet and secluded. Food is fantastic! Room was clean, spacious and had all the conveniences. Bathroom was clean, had a shower for two with a separate tub. I would definitely recommend The Inn and we are coming back. By far the best B&B we have stayed in yet!

Our favorite get away spot! We're regulars since discovering this terrific B&B 2 years ago. Close to shopping, sightseeing and just plain relaxation. Meals are always terrific. With dinner included, price is a wonderful value as well.

I decided to surprise my wife for our first Valentine's Day as a married couple by taking her to a bed and breakfast. I somehow stumbled upon the Inn above Onion Creek and I am really glad I did. Our time at the Inn was completely relaxing and wonderful. My wife absolutely loved it. She is a bit of a foodie and the food at the Inn for breakfast and dinner was amazing. Our compliments to the chef...they obviously know what they are doing. My wife doesn't even like pork but she loved the pork chops. The prime rib was mouth watering. The baked goods, cookies, scones, etc were light and airy. The accommodations (we stayed in the Nance suite) were peaceful, beautiful, and extremely relaxing. My husband and i stayed one night prior to Valentine's weekend and the experience was lovely in every way. The food was delicious, with fresh veggies coming from the garden in the courtyard. Our room was cozy. The fireplace was so comforting in the cool weather. The staff members were warm and accommodating. We appreciate all involved in making the Inn a great get-away.

My wife and I spent the past weekend at the Inn celebrating our 28th anniversary. We were very pleased!! The staff was friendly and accomodating. Both breakfasts and dinners were very well prepared and very tasty. The couples massage was great! All of the attention to detail was greatly appreciated. The room was superb, from the private balcony with rocking chairs to the fireplace and the spa tub for two. Dinner in the library was a great romantic touch and the breakfasts brought to our room added to our stay. The grounds set the scene beginning with the drive along the winding road that leads to the Inn. Great Inn! We typically go to a different location each year, but we will probably break that trend and keep returning each year!

Leave all your cares and troubles at the highway. From Amy greeting as we parked our car to our spa visit on the way out of IAOC, this was the perfect weekend. We were there to celebrate our 27th Wedding Anniversary and it couldn't have been better. All the management and staff were totally customer oriented. Our room was cozy and comfy. Loved the fireplace, feather mattress, and balcony (my husband saw 6 deer one evening). The food was excellent. We loved that we just had to walk down the stairs for a wonderful breakfast and dinner. The grounds are great for taking a walk and enjoying the weather. Loved the cookies you could get any time. Really nice people we dined with each meal. Just a great place. So glad I found it. I already have booked another weekend. Great job to the management and staff!

Amazing! We cannot say enough about the Inn Above Onion Creek. Fantastic Service, unbelievable food, well appointed rooms, luxurious beds, etc, etc, etc. I've been once on a girls trip, and brought my husband back for our wedding anniversary. Both times were absolutely perfect and exceeded every expectation. Breakfast in the morning is hot and delicious, especially the fresh-squeezed orange juice. Not having to go find a restaurant and pay for sub-par food was the best part...coming in at 6 in casual clothing by the fire place, and having the most wonderful food just brought to you. We just couldn't have asked for anything better!

Everything at the Inn above Onion Creek was wonderful... Rooms, food, massage . The other guests were friendly and the staff very helpful, but there is something else.. A certain je ne sais quoi that you must experience for yourself.

We have chosen the Inn Above Onion Creek as our favorite place to relax and refuel when life becomes too hectic. The staff are very friendly, caring and professional. The rooms and views are simply outstanding, not to mention the luxury feather beds. The food for the generous dinner and breakfast meals was wonderful. We plan to return many times.

This Inn was FANTASTIC! The pictures and descriptions are right on the money. From the moment you turn into the entrance, you know you are in for something special. The driveway is a mile long, meant to free you from your cares as you wind up the hill to panaramoic views of the Hill Country. The service was friendly and top notch, and the food so unbelievably fresh it's like tasting things for the first time. We cannot wait to return, and as we discovered most of the other guests were repeat guests. Highly recommend this jewel hidden amongst the hills!

This place is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! Clean accommodations, very friendly staff, numerous amenities and the food is superb! The directions are precise and easy to follow form the highway. My wife and I just made our second visit to Inn Above Onion Creek. During the first visit the chef made a special dessert for my wife's birthday. We were so impressed with the property, service, and food that we decided to go back for our anniversary. Less than a week before our second visit a family member suffered a severe injury in a car accident. The owners at IAOC allowed us to change our reservations with no argument or additional fees. This is how everyone should be treated! We will continue to come back

The Inn is absolutely amazing. We've stayed here twice and each time we were knocked over by their amazing service, tasty food and spectacular atmosphere! The views of the hill country from the Inn are breathtaking! LOVE this place!

Glorious on all counts!! Immaculate grounds and facilities. We stayed in the Kuykendall Suite and found it totally remarkable ... the website photos only touch the spaciousness, warmth and 'settle-in' appeal of the Kuykendall. We both have severe allergy issues and yet slept like babies here. Dinner and breakfast were consumate successes. A word of caution ... the 'eat anytime cookies' are irresistable and you may have to exercise restraint if you count calories. Take the 400-yard walk and your camera to the river overlook ... it is western centerpiece in quality. Pamela got a facial and will include one in all subsequent stays there (we pray to become regulars). Only thanks to God speaks the truth about this wonderfully gratifying experience. My husband and I stayed at the Inn for a night away from the big city. We've been guests at the Inn for over 7 years and everytime is just as great as the last (if not better)! I can't imagine a more appropriate property to relax and enjoy the Hill Country. We were sitting on the porch and were reminded what it was like to feel silence....... Just AMAZING! The dinner and breakfast were delicious!!!!

Local food prepared from scratch! Some ingredients from the on-site garden. With both breakfast and dinner included, we stayed on the grounds all day just relaxing: sitting in front of the fire, hiking, surveying the vegetable and flower gardens, napping, enjoying the variety of hot teas and homemade cookies, and reading on the porch while eating popcorn and taking in the view. Maybe next time we'll visit the olive ranch and get into Wimberly. We'll be back!

The Inn above Onion Creek is an outstanding place to stay and dine. The staff is terrific and the food is high quality, local, comfortable and prepared with great aplomb. We stayed in Maurice's Guest room which was a short walk from the main inn building. It was well appointed and immaculately maintained. The quite couldn't have been more soothing. The only negative was the number of cats that were periodically in the office. Sorry but I am not a "cat person" and those with cat allergies might want to bring some Benadryl . J

This past weekend ( November 18-19-20) was once again the best!!! My wife and I have stayed here many times and it is always very enjoyable and relaxing... Amy and the staff are great and the food (breakast and dinner) are top quality...Always nice to visit with the other guests that come from all over...Nice to visit the nearby wineries and other points of interest during the day...My wife this time did a spa visit that she really enjoyed.....

Incredible! My wife and I came for our first vacation away from the daughter. We were 100% pleased. We stayed in one of the 3rd floor rooms. Bed was comfy, room was cozy, and bathroom was clean and large. The entire staff was very friendly (from the inn keeper to the chef to the gardener). Great hiking trails. Quiet and secluded, yet close to Austin (and Salt Lick). Our absolute favorite thing about our stay was the included breakfast AND dinner. Every single meal was wonderful! And they accommodated my wife's gluten allergy. We will be coming back many times more. Gig'em!

Ideally located in the Texas Hill Country, the Inn's 88 acres offer a welcome respite from the day to day grind that many of us face on a day to day basis. I can't speak highly enough of the well appointed rooms, the views, the staff and the wonderful meals. We have found this Inn to be the ideal starting point for our daily excursions, none of which is much further than an hour away from the Inn. We will be back...

We passed by Inn Above Onion Creek some time ago and stopped and got a brochure and decided then that someday we would come back and stay for a weekend. My husband's birthday was 10-16 and I decided it was time to stay at IAOC. We had an enjoyable weekend. The rooms were clean, the trails were great, the food was delicious and the hospitality was warm. The other guests were enjoyable to talk to during dinner and breakfast. We will definitely recommend IAOC and will be back again!

My husband and I stayed here right after our wedding at the Duchman Family Winery. It was exactly the kind of placing I was needing to relax after all the wedding planning. We stayed in the Nance Suite which is on the third floor. The views of the hill country were amazing as the room lends itself to panoramic views. We enjoyed the coffee and the amazing breakfasts and dinners. The grounds are very nice to explore and are very pictoresque for picture taking. I am definitely recommending the Inn Above Onion Creek to everyone I know. Ann was very helpful and accomodating to us. Since we had missed the dinner on Oct 9th due to the wedding, she asked the chefs to fix us a nice lunch instead. We felt that this was a very nice gesture. We will definitely be visiting the Inn again in the future.

We had an incredible time. Thelma's cottage was perfect. I know all the rooms are fantastic, but Thelma's was just amazing. The spa and the massages were so relaxing and the meals were absolutely delicious. We can't wait to go back!!!!!

This was our second visit to the Inn, and they out did themselves yet again. The food was fantastic. The room (Kuykendall Suite) was amazing. HUGE bathroom and jetted tub, 2 levels. We will definitely be returning, even if it is just for the food.

Wonderful, relaxing stay. The dinner was superb and the breakfast was excellent. We loved our way up high room Schlemmer. The innkeepers were very friendly. Our only regret was that we only stayed one night. We will return again!

We had a great dinner and breakfast and were free to refreshments other times of the day/night. We enjoyed the early morning hike on the property, one of the cats joined us. There was car port style covered guest parking which is especially nice when it is so hot out this time of year. We stayed in the Hays room which had a great view from the balcony, and saw a couple of deer around dusk.

This Inn is as well-managed as any I've ever been to and I've been to quite a few over the years. The attention of the staff to guests, grounds and facilities is outstanding. Plenty of places to lounge about including the porches, library and beautiful pool with a setting that can't be beat. Several interesting sites near by including the one-of-a-kind Central Texas Bonsai Museum. The only place for improvement is the main dishes for dinner (soup, sides and desserts were excellent). Thank you for a very memorable stay - we will defintely be back!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn Above Onion Creek and loved every aspect of it. From the fresh cut flowers in every room to the most comfortable bed ever to the pool that includes floaty mats to the incredible gourmet meals to the peace and quiet. Everything was truly perfect. We stayed in Thelma's Cottage and couldn't have been more thrilled with it. The grounds and the cottage definitely exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly. The inn is close to several wineries on the wine trail and close to Wimberely. The only issue we had was with the wireless internet connection but they had IT come out and the problem was fixed quickly.

Most friendly staff I've encountered in 30+ years of travel - they are more like friends by the time you leave. Food - phenomenal. Hays room - extremely comfortable bed and a bathroom to die for! Grounds are beautiful - and the location provides superb views of the Texas hill country. We will be back, and I highly recommend to anyone considering a quiet, private, beautiful get-away.

My husband came home for his two week leave from Iraq so we decided to gain a bit rest and relaxation at the Inn Above Onion Creek. We stayed in the Nance suite and were completely amazed with the views. The spa, although small, was wonderful. Our massages definitely set the mood for the day. This was my first time to go to a B&B and will not be my last. Amy greeted us on arrival with a friendly competance that was the rule of the day. We were immediatly at ease. All the staff made it feel like a family visit only without helping with the dishes and making my bed. The food ranged from a few very nice items to some of the most incredible veggies and desserts that I can remember. Before I left I was trying to figure out when I could come back.

Very hot during our stay, but really wonderful and comfortable. Dining was great, along with the company. View from pool was special, great secluded location. Lot's of wildlife to see: deer, birds, etc.

We enjoyed a family reunion to celebrate our 60 years of wedded bliss. We ranged in age from 81 to 1 and each enjoyed every minute of our two-day stay. Breakfasts and dinner were outstanding and our special celebration cake just divine. We enjoyed exploring the interesting decor of our several rooms and how interestingly some had been converted for another use.

It is in a great location in Texas Hill Country which is close to both Austin and San Antonio. The inn overlooks the scenic beauty of Hill Country from its hilltop location. We enjoyed walking through the gardens as well as hiking the numerous trails in the surrounding countryside. There are so many ways to relax on the numerous porches and balconies, garden gazebo and large well maintained pool. Our room, the Nance, had breathtaking views from every room, a large whirlpool bath and a king size feather bed. We can't wait until we can return for another visit. Thanks to Amy and all her staff for making our stay such a wonderful experience.

To my mind, the best accommodations almost melt away and allow you to experience the beauty of the surroundings without having to worry about meals, cleanliness, etc. I spent my evening at the Inn Above Onion Creek on the 2nd story porch watching the sun set over 20 square miles of hill country, reading and just enjoying the quiet and solitude. The service, the meals and the quality of the rooms were so excellent, and the staff and guests so friendly that I forgot I was staying in a bed and breakfast. I was really able to unplug and enjoy the experience and only after I returned to my regular routine did I appreciate just how much work goes into making an excellent experience. Amy Dolan and her staff at the Inn Above Onion Creek really work hard to ensure that guests can relax and enjoy themselves and it shows. We only had the opportunity to stay one night, but what a night it was. The rooms are amazingly cozy and put you right at home, and the food was probably the best we've had at any stay away from home. We expected a continental breakfast but instead were served a delicious bananas foster croissant french toast. The view from your private balcony was absolutely tranquil, as were the walks we took along the trails they had to offer. You'd be surprised how much wildlife you would see on a half hour walk. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone of any age. Perfect for all parties.

Thelma's Cottage will spoil you rotten with its ultra comfy featherbeds and rain showerheads. If that wasn't enough, the best sweet potato pancakes are on the breakfast menu. Are you kidding me? Even though the Inn Above Onion Creek is just a few miles from my house, it feels like another world. I stayed in the Kyle Room and it was absolutely beautiful, with a giant bathroom and an exquisite feather bed. The views are breathtaking, and the food was delicious! The staff attended to all of our needs as well. It couldn't have been a more perfect weekend. Highly, highly recommended.

Even though I live in the Hill Country, the views and "feel" at the Inn are truly unique. The dining is top-notch and I never fail to be surprised and inspired by the cuisine. We've been coming here for 5 years now and the staff has always been extraordinarily knowledgeable and accommodating.

We wanted to stay somewhere nice for our wedding anniversary and a co-worker recommended the Inn Above Onion Creek. We were very impressed with the facilities, the scenery, and the accomodations. The food was delicious, there was a nice laid back atmosphere, and the scenery was breathtaking. The spa treatment was on point, too. We did a have a minor scare with a couple of scorpions, but other than that we had a great time. The rustic vibe was very therapeutic.

We do a ladies wildflower trip every year at this time and this was our first stay at Inn Above Onion Creek. It will not be our last! Fabulous place, great views, and the food is fabulous.
