Inn Above Onion Creek

My wife and I spent the past weekend at the Inn celebrating our 28th anniversary. We were very pleased!! The staff was friendly and accomodating. Both breakfasts and dinners were very well prepared and very tasty. The couples massage was great! All of the attention to detail was greatly appreciated. The room was superb, from the private balcony with rocking chairs to the fireplace and the spa tub for two. Dinner in the library was a great romantic touch and the breakfasts brought to our room added to our stay. The grounds set the scene beginning with the drive along the winding road that leads to the Inn. Great Inn! We typically go to a different location each year, but we will probably break that trend and keep returning each year!

Leave all your cares and troubles at the highway. From Amy greeting as we parked our car to our spa visit on the way out of IAOC, this was the perfect weekend. We were there to celebrate our 27th Wedding Anniversary and it couldn't have been better. All the management and staff were totally customer oriented. Our room was cozy and comfy. Loved the fireplace, feather mattress, and balcony (my husband saw 6 deer one evening). The food was excellent. We loved that we just had to walk down the stairs for a wonderful breakfast and dinner. The grounds are great for taking a walk and enjoying the weather. Loved the cookies you could get any time. Really nice people we dined with each meal. Just a great place. So glad I found it. I already have booked another weekend. Great job to the management and staff!

Amazing! We cannot say enough about the Inn Above Onion Creek. Fantastic Service, unbelievable food, well appointed rooms, luxurious beds, etc, etc, etc. I've been once on a girls trip, and brought my husband back for our wedding anniversary. Both times were absolutely perfect and exceeded every expectation. Breakfast in the morning is hot and delicious, especially the fresh-squeezed orange juice. Not having to go find a restaurant and pay for sub-par food was the best part...coming in at 6 in casual clothing by the fire place, and having the most wonderful food just brought to you. We just couldn't have asked for anything better!

Stayed for 4 nights in late January, 2012 and thoroughly enjoyed all aspects of this lovely inn.

Everything at the Inn above Onion Creek was wonderful... Rooms, food, massage . The other guests were friendly and the staff very helpful, but there is something else.. A certain je ne sais quoi that you must experience for yourself.

We have chosen the Inn Above Onion Creek as our favorite place to relax and refuel when life becomes too hectic. The staff are very friendly, caring and professional. The rooms and views are simply outstanding, not to mention the luxury feather beds. The food for the generous dinner and breakfast meals was wonderful. We plan to return many times.

This Inn was FANTASTIC! The pictures and descriptions are right on the money. From the moment you turn into the entrance, you know you are in for something special. The driveway is a mile long, meant to free you from your cares as you wind up the hill to panaramoic views of the Hill Country. The service was friendly and top notch, and the food so unbelievably fresh it's like tasting things for the first time. We cannot wait to return, and as we discovered most of the other guests were repeat guests. Highly recommend this jewel hidden amongst the hills!

This place is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!! Clean accommodations, very friendly staff, numerous amenities and the food is superb! The directions are precise and easy to follow form the highway. Our stay was perfect! The grounds are beautiful and the hiking trails were fun and not too difficult. My wife and I recommend this place above all other inns. You won't regret it!!!!

My wife and I just made our second visit to Inn Above Onion Creek. During the first visit the chef made a special dessert for my wife's birthday. We were so impressed with the property, service, and food that we decided to go back for our anniversary. Less than a week before our second visit a family member suffered a severe injury in a car accident. The owners at IAOC allowed us to change our reservations with no argument or additional fees. This is how everyone should be treated! We will continue to come back

The Inn is absolutely amazing. We've stayed here twice and each time we were knocked over by their amazing service, tasty food and spectacular atmosphere! The views of the hill country from the Inn are breathtaking! LOVE this place!

Glorious on all counts!! Immaculate grounds and facilities. We stayed in the Kuykendall Suite and found it totally remarkable ... the website photos only touch the spaciousness, warmth and 'settle-in' appeal of the Kuykendall. We both have severe allergy issues and yet slept like babies here. Dinner and breakfast were consumate successes. A word of caution ... the 'eat anytime cookies' are irresistable and you may have to exercise restraint if you count calories. Take the 400-yard walk and your camera to the river overlook ... it is western centerpiece in quality. Pamela got a facial and will include one in all subsequent stays there (we pray to become regulars). Only thanks to God speaks the truth about this wonderfully gratifying experience. My husband and I stayed at the Inn for a night away from the big city. We've been guests at the Inn for over 7 years and everytime is just as great as the last (if not better)! I can't imagine a more appropriate property to relax and enjoy the Hill Country. We were sitting on the porch and were reminded what it was like to feel silence....... Just AMAZING! The dinner and breakfast were delicious!!!!

We spent 3 days to celebrate my husband's birthday. The staff was not just professional but also just great people. Despite the rainy weather we had a wonderful time. We are looking forward to many more visits. Lori & M.

Local food prepared from scratch! Some ingredients from the on-site garden. With both breakfast and dinner included, we stayed on the grounds all day just relaxing: sitting in front of the fire, hiking, surveying the vegetable and flower gardens, napping, enjoying the variety of hot teas and homemade cookies, and reading on the porch while eating popcorn and taking in the view. Maybe next time we'll visit the olive ranch and get into Wimberly. We'll be back!

R&R is the key to Inn Above Onion Creek. The absolute best way to get away from it all and be pampered. We return at every opportunity.

The Inn above Onion Creek is an outstanding place to stay and dine. The staff is terrific and the food is high quality, local, comfortable and prepared with great aplomb. We stayed in Maurice's Guest room which was a short walk from the main inn building. It was well appointed and immaculately maintained. The quite couldn't have been more soothing. The only negative was the number of cats that were periodically in the office. Sorry but I am not a "cat person" and those with cat allergies might want to bring some Benadryl . J

This past weekend ( November 18-19-20) was once again the best!!! My wife and I have stayed here many times and it is always very enjoyable and relaxing... Amy and the staff are great and the food (breakast and dinner) are top quality...Always nice to visit with the other guests that come from all over...Nice to visit the nearby wineries and other points of interest during the day...My wife this time did a spa visit that she really enjoyed.....

Incredible! My wife and I came for our first vacation away from the daughter. We were 100% pleased. We stayed in one of the 3rd floor rooms. Bed was comfy, room was cozy, and bathroom was clean and large. The entire staff was very friendly (from the inn keeper to the chef to the gardener). Great hiking trails. Quiet and secluded, yet close to Austin (and Salt Lick). Our absolute favorite thing about our stay was the included breakfast AND dinner. Every single meal was wonderful! And they accommodated my wife's gluten allergy. We will be coming back many times more. Gig'em!

We stayed at Inn Above Onion Creek for our honeymoon. This inn by far surpassed all of our expectations. I don't normally write reviews, but I had to share our experience with you! The food was fantastic and the entire staff was so nice and would literally bend over backwards to make sure you are pleased. If you would like a very private getaway where you can unwind and relax...you have to stay at Inn Above Onion Creek. I could go on and on about how special our honeymoon was here, but I won't. Just go and experience the magic of Inn Above Onion Creek for yourself!

Ideally located in the Texas Hill Country, the Inn's 88 acres offer a welcome respite from the day to day grind that many of us face on a day to day basis. I can't speak highly enough of the well appointed rooms, the views, the staff and the wonderful meals. We have found this Inn to be the ideal starting point for our daily excursions, none of which is much further than an hour away from the Inn. We will be back...

We passed by Inn Above Onion Creek some time ago and stopped and got a brochure and decided then that someday we would come back and stay for a weekend. My husband's birthday was 10-16 and I decided it was time to stay at IAOC. We had an enjoyable weekend. The rooms were clean, the trails were great, the food was delicious and the hospitality was warm. The other guests were enjoyable to talk to during dinner and breakfast. We will definitely recommend IAOC and will be back again!

My husband and I stayed here right after our wedding at the Duchman Family Winery. It was exactly the kind of placing I was needing to relax after all the wedding planning. We stayed in the Nance Suite which is on the third floor. The views of the hill country were amazing as the room lends itself to panoramic views. We enjoyed the coffee and the amazing breakfasts and dinners. The grounds are very nice to explore and are very pictoresque for picture taking. I am definitely recommending the Inn Above Onion Creek to everyone I know. Ann was very helpful and accomodating to us. Since we had missed the dinner on Oct 9th due to the wedding, she asked the chefs to fix us a nice lunch instead. We felt that this was a very nice gesture. We will definitely be visiting the Inn again in the future.

Our cottage was charming and inviting. We loved rocking on the back porch every morning and relaxing by the fireplace in the evening. Our dining experience was incredible! We enjoying pleasant conversations with other guests, fantastic service and fabulous meals. We look forward to our next visit!

We had an incredible time. Thelma's cottage was perfect. I know all the rooms are fantastic, but Thelma's was just amazing. The spa and the massages were so relaxing and the meals were absolutely delicious. We can't wait to go back!!!!!

Honestly I couldn't have asked for more. I took my college-aged student leader staff here for our beginning of school retreat and they absolutely LOVED it! Amy and all the staff at the inn were incredible and did everything possible to ensure that we had an amazing time...and we did!! They can't wait to go back!

This was our second visit to the Inn, and they out did themselves yet again. The food was fantastic. The room (Kuykendall Suite) was amazing. HUGE bathroom and jetted tub, 2 levels. We will definitely be returning, even if it is just for the food.

This was an awesome experience for me & my husband, the rooms are decorated beautifully & very comfortable. We found ourselves saying that we needed one more day! The food is excellent. We also enjoyed the common tables in the dining room, so we could get to know others while we ate.

Wonderful, relaxing stay. The dinner was superb and the breakfast was excellent. We loved our way up high room Schlemmer. The innkeepers were very friendly. Our only regret was that we only stayed one night. We will return again!

We had a great dinner and breakfast and were free to refreshments other times of the day/night. We enjoyed the early morning hike on the property, one of the cats joined us. There was car port style covered guest parking which is especially nice when it is so hot out this time of year. We stayed in the Hays room which had a great view from the balcony, and saw a couple of deer around dusk.

This Inn is as well-managed as any I've ever been to and I've been to quite a few over the years. The attention of the staff to guests, grounds and facilities is outstanding. Plenty of places to lounge about including the porches, library and beautiful pool with a setting that can't be beat. Several interesting sites near by including the one-of-a-kind Central Texas Bonsai Museum. The only place for improvement is the main dishes for dinner (soup, sides and desserts were excellent). Thank you for a very memorable stay - we will defintely be back!

My husband and I stayed at the Inn Above Onion Creek and loved every aspect of it. From the fresh cut flowers in every room to the most comfortable bed ever to the pool that includes floaty mats to the incredible gourmet meals to the peace and quiet. Everything was truly perfect. It is the best B&B we have ever stayed at, and we will return!

We stayed in Thelma's Cottage and couldn't have been more thrilled with it. The grounds and the cottage definitely exceeded our expectations. The food was excellent and the staff was friendly. The inn is close to several wineries on the wine trail and close to Wimberely. The only issue we had was with the wireless internet connection but they had IT come out and the problem was fixed quickly.

Most friendly staff I've encountered in 30+ years of travel - they are more like friends by the time you leave. Food - phenomenal. Hays room - extremely comfortable bed and a bathroom to die for! Grounds are beautiful - and the location provides superb views of the Texas hill country. We will be back, and I highly recommend to anyone considering a quiet, private, beautiful get-away.

My husband came home for his two week leave from Iraq so we decided to gain a bit rest and relaxation at the Inn Above Onion Creek. We stayed in the Nance suite and were completely amazed with the views. The spa, although small, was wonderful. Our massages definitely set the mood for the day. This was, by far, one of the best places we have stayed.

This was my first time to go to a B&B and will not be my last. Amy greeted us on arrival with a friendly competance that was the rule of the day. We were immediatly at ease. All the staff made it feel like a family visit only without helping with the dishes and making my bed. The food ranged from a few very nice items to some of the most incredible veggies and desserts that I can remember. Before I left I was trying to figure out when I could come back.

Very hot during our stay, but really wonderful and comfortable. Dining was great, along with the company. View from pool was special, great secluded location. Lot's of wildlife to see: deer, birds, etc.

What a fabulous way to spend a long weekend...in the middle of the Hill Country and staying at a marvelous and inviting Inn with all of the amenities you could want. Wait! did I die and go to heaven?? Have recommended the Inn to friends and co-workers. Most assuredly, we will go back in the fall.

We enjoyed a family reunion to celebrate our 60 years of wedded bliss. We ranged in age from 81 to 1 and each enjoyed every minute of our two-day stay. Breakfasts and dinner were outstanding and our special celebration cake just divine. We enjoyed exploring the interesting decor of our several rooms and how interestingly some had been converted for another use.

This was our first stay at the Inn Above Onion Creek, but it will definitely not be our last. The inn is beautiful, the food is excellent and the staff could not have been more accommodating. It is in a great location in Texas Hill Country which is close to both Austin and San Antonio. The inn overlooks the scenic beauty of Hill Country from its hilltop location. We enjoyed walking through the gardens as well as hiking the numerous trails in the surrounding countryside. There are so many ways to relax on the numerous porches and balconies, garden gazebo and large well maintained pool. Our room, the Nance, had breathtaking views from every room, a large whirlpool bath and a king size feather bed. We can't wait until we can return for another visit. Thanks to Amy and all her staff for making our stay such a wonderful experience.

My husband and I stayed overnight at the inn for our anniversary and had a great time! It is a very relaxing place to stay, with superb dining (both dinner and breakfast!) and a very comfortable atmosphere. The inn hits that perfect combination of being very luxurious while remaining casual and inviting. We will definately be staying again - very happy to have found this gem so close to Austin.

To my mind, the best accommodations almost melt away and allow you to experience the beauty of the surroundings without having to worry about meals, cleanliness, etc. I spent my evening at the Inn Above Onion Creek on the 2nd story porch watching the sun set over 20 square miles of hill country, reading and just enjoying the quiet and solitude. The service, the meals and the quality of the rooms were so excellent, and the staff and guests so friendly that I forgot I was staying in a bed and breakfast. I was really able to unplug and enjoy the experience and only after I returned to my regular routine did I appreciate just how much work goes into making an excellent experience. Amy Dolan and her staff at the Inn Above Onion Creek really work hard to ensure that guests can relax and enjoy themselves and it shows. I highly recommend the Inn to anyone looking to enjoy a restful, peaceful and social evening in the Texas Hill Country.

The Inn Above Onion Creek is perfection. From the rooms, to the food, to the service, to the atmosphere and peaceful environment - it is a little piece of heaven on earth! My husband and I have visited twice and hope to return soon!!

We only had the opportunity to stay one night, but what a night it was. The rooms are amazingly cozy and put you right at home, and the food was probably the best we've had at any stay away from home. We expected a continental breakfast but instead were served a delicious bananas foster croissant french toast. The view from your private balcony was absolutely tranquil, as were the walks we took along the trails they had to offer. You'd be surprised how much wildlife you would see on a half hour walk. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone of any age. Perfect for all parties.

The mixture of location, amenities, and hospitality makes the Inn Above Onion Creek one of my favorite getaway destinations. Thelma's Cottage will spoil you rotten with its ultra comfy featherbeds and rain showerheads. If that wasn't enough, the best sweet potato pancakes are on the breakfast menu. Are you kidding me? We'll definitely be back!

Even though the Inn Above Onion Creek is just a few miles from my house, it feels like another world. I stayed in the Kyle Room and it was absolutely beautiful, with a giant bathroom and an exquisite feather bed. The views are breathtaking, and the food was delicious! The staff attended to all of our needs as well. It couldn't have been a more perfect weekend. Highly, highly recommended.

Even though I live in the Hill Country, the views and "feel" at the Inn are truly unique. The dining is top-notch and I never fail to be surprised and inspired by the cuisine. We've been coming here for 5 years now and the staff has always been extraordinarily knowledgeable and accommodating.

We wanted to stay somewhere nice for our wedding anniversary and a co-worker recommended the Inn Above Onion Creek. We were very impressed with the facilities, the scenery, and the accomodations. The food was delicious, there was a nice laid back atmosphere, and the scenery was breathtaking. The spa treatment was on point, too. We did a have a minor scare with a couple of scorpions, but other than that we had a great time. The rustic vibe was very therapeutic.

We do a ladies wildflower trip every year at this time and this was our first stay at Inn Above Onion Creek. It will not be our last! Fabulous place, great views, and the food is fabulous.

When I want to rest in a serene and luxurious atmosphere I head to Kyle, Texas where I find the very best Inn in the USA! I have been visiting for the past 9 years and I am never disappointed by my experience. I always leave relaxed, refreshed and reenergized. I am always so sad to leave and begin planning for my next trip on the drive back home! The beds are so comfortable and the rooms so beautifully decorated. The fresh flowers always add such a fresh touch to the room. There is always coffee, tea and yummy cookies to enjoy at all hours of the day or night but who has room after a scrumptious breakfast and delicious and filling dinner. There are many wonderful Texas sights to enjoy if you can pull yourself away from the serenity of the Inn. I think of the Inn as a little slice of heaven.

Everything was great. We enjoyed the peace and quiet plus the great meals. It was fun meeting other people in the dining room.

I don't have enough superlatives to properly express how much we loved this place. The rooms, the staff, especially the kitchen staff, the food, the views, the trails... it was all completely fantastic.

My husband and I stayed at the Inn Above Onion Creek only for one night, and upon check-in we were already planning our next stay and we intend for it to be for several nights! The Innkeeper welcomed us by name, gave us our key, and showed us around the dining room, kitchen, and library. She was so welcoming, we felt right at home from the beginning. There were so many "extras" included with our stay, we were truly blown away! Freshly baked cookies, hot and iced teas, coffee, sodas, fruit juices, chocolates on the nightstands, gourmet dinner and breakfast, books, dvds and games in the library to borrow... and I'm sure I'm forgetting more! The room was exquisite, comfy and clean. I can't say enough good things about it! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return!!!

This facility was conveniently located near Kyle. It was situated in the beautiful Texas Hill Country. It is off the main roads where you don't have to deal with much traffic, and it is not too far from the Salt Lick in Driftwood. The hosts were very gracious, and the food was excellent. Great setting above Onion Creek, although the Hill Country in general is in dire need of rain.

My wife and I stayed for our 5th time at the Inn Above Onion Creek. There's a simple reason we keep returning to this Hill Country oasis. The bucolic setting is exceptional, the rooms comfortable, the staff helpful and friendly, and the dinner and breakfast that comes with each stay are way above par for B&Bs, which makes the pricey accommodations more reasonable. But you get what you pay for at this B&B, and more. In the summer, the swimming pool that looks out over the hills and oak-covered savanna is a blessed relief from the heat. We will be back, for sure. The Inn Above Onion Creek continues to rank among our Top 3 Texas B&Bs.

This place is simply amazing. We stayed 3 nights for our honeymoon in March 2011 and did not want to leave. Everything was great...the food, the rooms, the food, the people, the food and the spa. Oh!, and the food was amazing. We can't wait to return.

My wife and I spent two nights at The Inn Above Onion Creek for our 3 year anniversary. This was the perfect getaway for our special occasion. We stayed in the Schlemmer room and we really enjoyed it because it was spacious and romantic. The free-standing tub and large shower were also incredible. The grounds were beautiful and the Texas countryside in the area was amazing. There are 3-4 wineries within 30 minutes to an hour from the inn. We also did the Wimberly ziplines. The food was also unforgettable! Breakfast and dinner were the perfect addition to the friendly atmosphere. If someone was visiting us from out of state and they asked where should they go to experience some Texas culture… I would definitely send them to The Inn Above Onion Creek and the surrounding area.

We had the most incredible time at Inn Above Onion Creek. It's a beautiful property, unique and special. Very relaxing - secluded but welcoming. All 4 of us gals on a vacation get-a-way want to return and experience it with our loved ones. The food was great, the rooms cozy, the pool inviting, the grounds picturesque. The view from the upper deck outside our room, looking over the expanse of tree-laiden acres, was absolutely beautiful. We enjoyed our massages at the spa, had a morning and evening stroll around the grounds, and couldn't get enough of the yummy homemade cookies, especially the Ranger cookies. It was our favorite stay in our weeklong vacation of various B&B's in the Hill Country and will long remain a cherished memory. Can't wait to return!

Relaxing atmosphere perfect for a weekend away. I enjoyed a fabulous girls weekend that included catching up on reading, sleeping and hours of fantastic conversation on porch rocking chairs surrounded by loving people, stunning scenery and some of the cutest four legged (and one three legged) friends I've ever met. The dining room set up is perfect and the food was delicious. I love that you get to bring your own wine. I would not call this place kid-friendly, and as a mom, I'm grateful for quiet places like this one to get away. Take the kids to Lost Pines in Bastrop, and bring your girlfriends and/or husbands here. I can't wait to share this gem with my family and friends!

Brief honeymoon over Valentine's Day. The Nance Suite is great, and the food is wonderful!

This was our tenth stay and we have never been disappointed. The rooms (and bathrooms) are luxurious which makes this a perfect romantic get away. The food is always good and this time for Valentine's Day it was exceptional.

We spent 3 nights at the Inn Above Onion Creek (in the Hays room) and it was absolutely wonderful. We had been looking forward to this trip so much and it did not disappoint. Although the weather was colder than average, we were really looking to just relax and spend some time together. The room was so comfortable and as clean as could be. The big bed with the pillow top mattress was heaven! So unbelievably comfortable! We enjoyed sitting by the fire, reading, soaking in the tub, and just relaxing. It is so quiet and peaceful there. The food was fantastic! Such attention to detail and presentation and truly delicious. The service was friendly and warm (Ryan especially was always smiling!) and the dining room was beautiful, comfortable and casual. Loved the constant availability of coffee, tea, cookies, sodas, snacks, etc. We really enjoyed meeting the other guests and sharing meals with them, we had some great conversations and will remember the other couples we got to know there :) We took a walk down to the overlook (accompanied by Nigel, one of the Inn cats). Overall I cannot say enough good things about the Inn Above Onion Creek. It's not a local trip for us but we hope to return again (hopefully many times) in the future. It will be the standard we will hold all B&B's we go to against. You will not regret your relaxing, restful stay at this inn!

My wife and I booked this for our 1 year anniversary. We were very disappointed. The food was mediocre. On the first morning, our breakfast was just cold pancakes, bacon, and eggs! That night for dinner, they served undercooked chicken and macaroni and cheese. For the premium price you end up paying for the accommodations, this just does not do. I would highly encourage others to keep looking and find a better inn. We met two other couples (both on their anniversaries) on our stay who reinforced our opinion of the stay.

The meals are always fabulous, the rooms extremely comfortable and welcoming.

We love staying in B&Bs and have stayed in many all over the country. The Inn Above Onion Creek is one of our new favorites. My husband and I stayed in Thelma's Cottage for a romantic getaway. The beds are extremely comfortable; everything was clean; the mini-fridge was stocked with sodas and water. The dinner was absolutely incredible! We couldn't have been happier with our stay. It was much needed time together before my husband deploys...again.

Food was fabulous, the people were wonderful, and it was VERY peaceful, yet just a short drive from Austin and outlet shopping. We loved it! We didn't know if we'd really get our dollar's worth because we were going in the middle of winter, but it was great!

The breathtaking property, excellent food and accomodations exceeded my expectations. Hiking through the blue trail to catch the spendor of the Inn at the end; confirmed the strength this heirloom ranch gives to everyone who experiences her...and you know that you will return to recharge.... again

My wife and I enjoyed our stay immensely! What a wonderful place to maintain, renew, or build new relationships. Take a walk, get a massage, soak in your own Jacuzzi Bath, cuddle in front of the fire place, or just plop into the overstuffed bed and watch a movie. The food was amazing and the service perfect! We had the most perfect time of our stay in Texas in this B&B. We will most certainly come back. The food was wonderful and we loved the relaxed atmosphere with very interesting people around us. Looking forward to coming again!

My boyfriend and I stayed here for our 3 year anniversary and found it exceeded our expectations! We booked the couples spa package and requested a late evening appointment to which they went above their duties to accomodate us. I am also a vegetarian and gluten free to which they made a special meal to adhere to my special diet. The room was beautiful with a very serene view into the hill country. This is by far my favorite place to stay!

My boyfriend and I stayed in Thelma's Cottage, which was absolutely beautiful. We arrived a bit late, as we were both coming from work on a Friday. The innkeepers actually went above and beyond to accomodate us by plating our dinner so we could eat in the calm of our cottage. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and so big I forgot I was sleeping next to someone. I also have to mention that the shower was pretty cool. I had never tried a rain shower before! Breakfast was lovely, and it was nice getting to chat with the other guests. I can't say enough about the gorgeous views. We went on a little stroll after breakfast, and it was so amazing I kept forgetting that I was in Texas! Thank you for a wonderful stay!

Everything was better than expected. The spa was excellent and the food was great. Will be back and hopefully to stay longer.

We stayed in the Hays room, and it was roomy and had a great comfy bed. The dinner was amazing; it completely astounded me!

My fiance and I have stayed here with Amy 3 times in the last 2 yrs and it is ALWAYS wonderful! The rooms are always clean and comfortable, good shampoo and conditioner in the showers, big comfy beds, etc. Dinner and breakfast are included with the rates and the food is always SO yummy. It's like going to an expensive restaurant, only without the hoity toity-ness. ;) Amy is always very kind and gracious and we wish to return time and time again. This place is great! You've gotta try it! :))

I came to stay here for work and it was just the place to go when you need some time to relax in the infamous Texas hill country. Food was amazing and room was fantastic equipped with a giant tub and beautiful fireplace. Would love to come back again.

My fiance and I rarely have the chance to get away together, but we managed to escape here for the night. Our room was spotless and very large, with a roomy sitting area with a fireplace, plus a huge two-person tub. We weren't in the area to go out and explore--we just wanted to unwind together somewhere peaceful. We watched a movie, read in front of the fire, took a bath, and had a wonderful, romantic time.The homemade pot roast dinner with butternut squash soup and apple pie was absolutely delicious. The homemade cookies in the guest snack area were very tasty, and free! Overall, the Inn Above Onion Creek is so peaceful and relaxing--the perfect place to go if you just need to get away.

My wife and I spent a lovely weekend at the Inn Above Onion Creek and it was the perfect weekend escape from nearby Austin for us. Rooms were spacious, well appointed, and clean. Dinner was amazing. The relaxed setting was just what the doctor ordered after a particularly busy month.

We stay one to two times per year and our stay is always consistantly enjoyable. Very beautiful setting, beautiful rooms, fantastic food!!! Our home away from home!!

We have stayed at a lot of B&B's and this was by far the worst for what we have paid. The dinner was probably the worst thing I have ever tried to eat. The main course was (half) baked chicken. Not only was it poorly cooked (still pink) it had little or no flavor. The vegtable was a .... what is that stuff? It did not taste any better. The starch was macaroni and cheese. Also very tasteless and better yet served from a HEB tub for a $1.99. All the fellow diners picked at the dinner and left much of it uneaten. Then came desert (half baked) apple cobbler a la mode. The ice cream was good but I did not know you could under cook a cobbler so bad. It was aldente to say the least. We were graced by the B&B Mr. Cat that walked through the dinning area and across our table. It appeared he liked the food. The next morning Mr. Cat also graced the condiments table and took a few slurps of tea. How delightful to have a cat sharing your food and drink! We wanted to take a walk that evening before the sun went down but ...gracious we forgot our flack jackets. The surrounding view was wonderful but the sound of nearby hunters made us a little apprehensive without our helmets and flack jackets. So then we retired to watch TV on our 19" flatscreen. Yes it was quite a stay! If bad food, dining with cats, dodging bullets on your evening walk and sitting 3 feet away from the TV is your idea of romantic interlude.....God Bless You! A visit to the Inn Above Onion Creek is like going to stay at your grandparents' ranch. You feel "at home" from the minute you get out of your car. Everyone is glad to see you and even the Inn pets make you their own. Best of all you are glad to be there and really don't want to leave when your visit is over.

The winding country drive of The Inn Above Onion Creek establishes an anticipation of relaxing accomodations, refreshing views and rekindling feelings of warmth and charm. The visit provides all of these experiences in a meticulously groomed and welcoming atmosphere. Dining is beyond imagination and creates anticipation for the next mealtime gathering. Returning is the only thought on your mind as you enjoy each day of warm and stately hospitality.

When my wife brought me to this B & B for our wedding anniversary, I did not know what to expect. We had planned to go to Fleming's for dinner that night. When we got there and were given a tour by Amy (very kind and helpful) and I decided that we did not need to leave for dinner. We cancelled our reservations and had an amazing dinner with Roast Duck smothered in diced Cherry Salsa. MMMMM! I was not disappointed. Our stay was SOOOOO relaxing. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. The bathroom was huge and the jet tub had a great view of the hill country. The puncuation on the end of the trip was a great breakfast and conversation with Amy. We are planning on coming back and making a tradition of the Inn above Onion Creek. What a great place to go and relax.

This was my wife and my third get-a-way trip to the Inn Above Onion Creek, and it was another great experience. We've stayed in three different rooms over the course of our visit, and each have been really nice. There are three things that really distinguish this B&B: 1) The food is excelent and includes a nice three course meal for dinner. It's great to not have to get back in the car to go find dinner. 2) The facilities are excelent. The rooms themselves are nice, and between the trails, garden, porches, and pool, there are plenty of nice areas to sit outside. It's also a mile off of the main road so you get peace and quiet without having to drive to the middle of no where. 3) The service is excelent.

2 nights in the marvelous Nance Suite, 3rd floor with hill country views from all three rooms. We spent a whole day indoors enjoying it. Cookies, popcorn, soft drinks, tea, coffee, etc. available all day in the dining room. Movies, CD's, Books, games available in the library, which is always unlocked. "Green" establishment. Such a pleasant and relaxing setting. The view of the sunset was awesome. Great place to get away from it all, yet you are close to many Cental Texas sites. Would definitely recommend it.

The girls and I went to spend time together and relax. This was the perfect place for this. The pictures do not do justice, the Inn is beautiful and the food! What can I say but the best meals and the most amazing cakes and cookies! Whatever you need is available and it pretty much exceeded any expectations. Cant wait to see the Inn again!

My husband surprised me with a three day getaway. I did not have any idea of where we were going until we drove down a sweet, windy, country road. The sign read Inn Above Onion Creek. As we drove down the road, a smile appeared on my face and I said outloud "Oh this so perfect and beautiful and look at their garden!" The inn keeper was so sweet and friendly and our room-Maurices Cottage was away from the main home and very cozy for us. The king size bed was so soft and comfortable. I just melted into it. The dinners, breakfasts, and snacks were beyond terrific. We were truly impressed at how yummy the food was. The last night we were there, we had the dining room to ourselves-so romantic and quaint. The property was just like something out of a painting and we will definitely return soon and we will tell all our friends and family about the Inn Above Onion Creek.

How often do you eagerly anticipate something and then have it still exceed your expectations? Every moment at Inn Above Onion Creek was wonderful ... except leaving! We can't wait to go back (and we are the sort that generally opt to spend the travel budget for something new). Room, views, flowers, walks, food, quiet, and casual conversations over meals were exceptional! We had the best time. The room was beautiful with fresh flowers and chocolates on the bed. The quality of the food was 5 star! Nothing would of made this trip better! We even saw deer :)

We rocked on the upstairs outdoor deck, watched unreal Texas sunrises & sunsets! The IAOC is a must stay if you love the B & B and romance! We have stayed at many of the B & B Top Ten...IAOC is already tops in the SW, but they will return to the US Top 10 again!

Four days of pure relaxation. From the rocking chairs on the porch, to watching the sunset. The chef is outstanding. There was a smile on everyone's face. We just enjoyed every minute. We will be returning.

We chose the Inn Above Onion Creek because it was the perfect place to get away from the stress of living & working in the city. From the time we turned on to the grounds, we knew we'd chosen wisely! The porches and trails were incredibly relaxing, and the stars at night were amazing! The food was top notch & the staff extremely friendly. We especially enjoyed the feline staff who wandered the grounds, lounging, chasing bugs, etc. The Inn is conveniently located within a short drive from a number of beautiful Texas Hill country vineyards. The Hays room was as advertised, very romantic. The grounds were lovely, and the restaurant quality dining for not only breakfast but also dinner was just delicious.

We stayed at Maurices Cottage to celebrate our anniversary. We felt secluded but near enough to walkto breakfast and dinner each day. Great bed helped totally relax and slepp each night. The Mood of the Inn allows you to feel pampered but isolated. We enjoyed hiking the trails and cooling off in the pool each afternoon. The couples massage was heavenly. We brought wine to celebrate and share with new found friends, and each breakfast and dinner was truly a sumptuous feast. We will definately return. DJ from San Antonio

Maurice's Cottage gives "close to nature" experience. It's huge - with room to let one's spirit soar. The full-size 'frig meant we could take leftovers from the bountiful dinners and breakfasts. In this cottage, it's possible to invite friends for lunch or afternoon drinks on the back porch.

The only time I've heard my wife say that she wants to have her birthday more often! Maybe it's because we felt years younger after our weekend! A wonderful, unhurried, and relaxing stay! We WILL return!

We had the opportunity to stay at the inn for Labor Day Weekend. My cousin was in desperate need of a getaway so I immediately went to research possibilities and was instantly drawn to this inn. Being able to go to the inn was trully a blessing from the beautiful landscapes to the rejuvenating spa treatments to the fresh air minus Houston humidity to the scrumptious meals (the cranberry cookies were out of this world) to the lovely room to the welcoming staff and amazing guest. Love the butterflies. The experience was definitely what the doctor called for in order to revitalize our minds, bodies, and spirits. We ended the "perfect" getaway with a trip to the Fredericksburg Winery (the one brother was so knowledgable and very funny; we fell in love with two wine selections which will order to be shipped once we run out) and the chocolate store next door (chocolate lovers heaven on earth). Our time at the Inn was one of the best experiences I have had. The rooms, accomodations and staff were wonderful. The spa staff were very accomodating and made you feel comfortable. The scenery was breathtaking. I would definately recommend the Inn to my family and friends.

This is an excellent place and I would recommend it to anyone. Dining includes a great dinner, which is not something that I would have expected. Overall, this is a great place and it is in a good location—quiet, but not too far from activities. I can think of only a few negatives. First is the location of the particular room in which we stayed. Below the balcony were noisy air conditioning units. You could not hear the noise from within the room, but it made sitting outside unpleasant. Second, it was not clear from the web site that the room was three flights of stairs up (outside stairs). We are older, but in good shape, so it was not a problem for us. Others may find this a problem, particularly in the summer heat. Finally, at the bottom of the stairs were a couple of septic tanks, which if you happen to be down wind, smelt pretty bad. I had a septic tank at one time and never had any problem with odor. We plan to visit the inn again soon. It really is a great place, but we will avoid that room.

The septic issue has been addressed by our friends at Sellman Septic Services of Buda and AC Specialists of Austin who have maintained our AC from day one are working on how we can make the units quieter. As soon as we approached the inn, I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. We were so warmly welcomed in the office, I felt as though we were visiting friends. Dinner soon followed. That as well as all meals were superb. We didn't have time to sit down for breakfast the next morning due to an early flight. Ryan, one of the chefs prepared the best "to go" breakfast I've ever had, which included croissant french toast-amazing! The rooms were immaculately clean, beyond spacious, and as comfortable as home. The vase of fresh cut flowers, just one more special touch. Beautiful landscaping, spectacular vistas, serenity, friendly lovable pets, all added to this inn being one of my all time favorites. It is obvious that the owners go above and beyond to ensure their guests a truly special experience. My vacation prior to The Inn Above Onion Creek was somewhat disappointing. We couldn't have asked for more and will definitely be returning. We stayed for 3 week nights in the Martin room. Our accommodations were amazing, with a porch on either side of our spacious room, making for perfect sunrise and sunset views. The private bathroom was lovely, and the daily breakfast and dinner could not have been better. We enjoyed the proximity to a number of small town hill country attractions and activities and had a very restful vacation.

My mother and mother in law got us a room here for our wedding night. The place is quiet and beautiful. They had dinner waiting for us in the room. We also slept in and missed breakfast hours but they had plates waiting for us when we called down. The food was amazing, the grounds are beautiful. We are going to be going back at least every year for our anniversary and hopefully for a few stays inbetween. Highly recommend staying here.

This is my 5th stay and my favorite place to go with friends or my husband. Amy and the staff always take care of all my wishes. The food is fabulous- I am small, but I always clean my plate. Thank goodness there are hiking trails and the pool to work it back off! Very comfortable and serene.

I LOVE this property! My husband and I live in Austin and need to get out of the city to recharge. The Inn Above Onion Creek is the perfect place to do this. I didn't realize that I was so stressed out until I was sitting in a rocking chair playing Yahtzee and remembered what it felt to be truly relaxed. I would recommend this retreat to anyone who just needs to get away from it all. Having dinner and breakfast takes the additional planning out of the equation. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy........

We loved our time at the Inn Above Onion Creek. It is so peaceful and restful. We celebrated our 28th anniversary and the folks at the Inn were wonderful to us. We met many interesting people at mealtime and came home enriched by our stay!

We had a wonderful stay at the Inn - the food was truly magnificent! We stayed in the Kuykendall Suite, which was nice and roomy. Enjoyed the pool, it is surrounded by beautiful flowering bushes and trees. Super clean, super comfortable- a GREAT escape!

We had a wonderful stay. It was peaceful and relaxing. One of our best days there was one where we didn't even leave the grounds. We had breakfast and then sat out on the large porch, enjoyed tea and watched the scenery, butterflies and birds. Then we enjoyed a massage at the spa and then a dip in the pool and then it was dinner time. We also enjoyed the slow pace which allowed us to enjoy conversations with many of the other guests there. The food was outstanding! We try to take a vacation without our kids once a year and this was by far one of our best!
