Ten guest rooms and/or suites(ranging from one to three bedrooms) with full kitchens; two guest rooms are cozy, honeymoon-type rooms with whirlpools; and four are top of the line traditional bed and breakfast rooms with queens and twins. All fabric treatments are custom sewn specifically for Robin's Nest. The Inn is painted in warm colors, appealing textures and original designs; hand muraled or stenciled. Valued antiques are mixed with vintage pieces, and new, to create a funky, artsy, elegant look. Our breakfasts are center stage. Fresh, imaginative, colorful (at least three colors besides brown and white), some organics with vegetables, fruits and protein. We cater to vegan, vegetarian, as well as the breakfasts our grandparents used to make before they headed to the fields to work until dark. If you have a specific dietary need, please advise at the time of your reservation. We've been written up in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Time Magazine, Woman's Day, Southern Living, Texas Highways, Outsmart Magazine, etc. The Inn has been the backdrop for several professional photo shoots, including M.D. Andersen's Christmas Cards.
Robin's Nest consists of three unique historical houses contiguous to each other in the heart of Houston's Montrose - Museum and Arts District. They are c. 1890, 1920 and 1938. Cecelia's Room is soft but determined with red English Toile fabrics hand sewn by Robin for this room. The floors are the now-rare Longleaf Pine. The walls are MacArthur Park Green. The bathroom carries through with a red silk check. Cecelia's Room is on the second floor. It faces east so you get morning sun; however, the English toile drapes are beautifully lined so you can close out the light if you wish. There are five windows, a queen bed plus a twin or day bed should you need it. The room can sleep three comfortably.

Antonio's Room is a strikingly handsome bedroom, upstairs, with a queen-sized bed, private bath and charming kitchen. The fabrics and window art are rich, warm and bold, for the avant garde Victorian in all of us! There's a coffee/tea station just outside your door. Check in time is After 1 p.m. and Check out time is 11:00 AM. 10' ceilings, original, rare, Longleaf Pine hardwood floors. A good room for writing poetry, I think.
Nightly Rate: $179/$169
Aunt Mae's Room: an artist's space with a color wash on the walls and exterior Bermuda green shutters over the five windows. Aunt Mae's Room has a queen-size bed, wrapped in rich colors and appealing textures. There's also a custom alcove twin or day bed which provides a separate bed for double occupancy or a third person. The private bath is just outside your door, and no one else uses it except you. You can relax in the deep, claw footed Victorian tub or enjoy our Victorian "shower contraption". Check in time is After 1 p.m. and Check out time is 11:00 a.m.
Nightly Rate: $149/$139
Ruth Ann's Room is the only room downstairs which renders it somewhat isolated. Because it's the only guest room downstairs your space de facto extends to the sun room, the parlor and the dining room. If you are a light or late sleeper another room may be better, however, as we serve breakfast from 7 - 9 a.m. If it doesn't bother you, it doesn't bother us. The bathroom is a good size, with tub and shower inclusive, a muraled shade tree and a giraffe to keep you company. Check in time is After 1 p.m. and Check out time is 11:00 AM.
Nightly Rate: $169/$159
Bold, warm colors. If you're planning to pop the question or close a business deal, this is the room that will give your adrenalin an extra drop or two.

It's especially private because it's detached from the main house. It's in the second house (c.1920) called "The little Nest", toward the back of the property. A queen bed, original art, a French pedestal table for an intimate chat, which Robin brought back from Paris: or, if you must, work. A shower for one, or a deep whirlpool for two, or just you after a long day and before that oh, so comfortable, bed.
Nightly Rate: $179/$169

I am not familiar with the area so I was very worried about booking but we stayed valentines night. It was wonderful, they looked up resturaunts in our area and where they were. It was very private and romantic! And breakfast was different but absolutely fabulous ¿¿

Great breakfast, funky fun decor. It's a real anti-hotel and that is meant in a good way.

Wonderful place in a nice neighbourhood, near Houston's "gay-village". Friendly, wonderful owners. My stay was short, but I loved it and will stay there again, should I make it to Houston again.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your review. We are most appreciative. I noticed that you gave us five stars on everything except the rooms and you gave us a four. I appreciate that. It renews my priority to go through the rooms one by one and rethink, as needed. Thanks again, Robin, Robin's Nest
