Breakfast at Robin's Nest. B & Bers are always interesting people.
We are "scratch" cooks. Everything is as fresh as we can buy it. Nothing from a box. In this photo we had Migas (tortillas, sliced, in olive oil with garlic, onion, cilantro, red peppers, etc.); perfectly scrambled eggs; fresh fruit, bacon and sausage. If you are vegan, vegetarian, kosher, whatever -- we can accommodate you.
The "Third Nest" of Robin's Nest, and contiguous with the Big Nest and the Little Nest. Linda Lee's Townhouse is downstairs: a two-bedroom, kitchen, dining, living, about 1200 sq.ft. It welcomes overnighters or long-term stays.
Beverly's Tree House: Cozy, private, upstairs one bedroom (queen bed) plus an alcove second bedroom with a twin bed. Full kitchen including washer/dryer, Very nice, very popular. Good for short or long term stays. Excellent price for this kind of space in this part of Houston.

Eleven guest rooms, five of which are suites (ranging from one to three bedrooms) with full kitchens; two of which are cozy honeymoon-type rooms with whirlpools; and four are top of the line traditional bed and breakfast rooms with queens and twins. All fabric treatments are custom sewn, especially for Robin's Nest. The Inn is painted in warm colors and appealing textures, hand muraled or stenciled. Valued antiques are mixed with vintage pieces, and new, to create a funky, artsy, elegant look. Our breakfasts are center stage. Fresh, imaginative, colorful (at least three colors besides brown and white), some organics with vegetables, fruits and protein. We cater to vegan, vegetarian, as well as the breakfasts our grandparents used to make before they headed to the fields. If you have a specific dietary need, please advise at the time of your reservation. We've been written up in The New York Times, Los Angeles Times, Time Magazine, Woman's Day, Southern Living, Texas Highways, Outsmart Magazine, etc. The Inn has been the backdrop for several professional photo shoots, including M.D. Anderson's Christmas Cards.

3.0 out of 5Robin's Nest - Nice!
May 09, 2013
A friend and I stayed at Robin's Nest this week. A pleasant stay. The room was spacious and atmosphere eclectic. Nice residential location - even though every cabby we met had never heard of the B&B or Greeley Street (and we took about 12 cab rides during our stay!) I cannot say this is a great place to stay for everyone - narrow stairs, "older" (although lovely) accommodations, limited breakfast selection (although very good food) and very much “self serve” when it comes to check in/out. With that said, we enjoyed our time with Robin and would return. I am a B&B lover, and Robin’s Nest is good, maybe not fabulous, but definitely good!

Best way to summarize is to say that the place is exactly as described in their advertising materials. Charming, comfy, clean, cozy, etc etc, good location near shops, resturants, museums, etc etc

April 14, 2013
I don't think we could have chosen a nicer place to spend our week in Houston. Robin and her staff welcomed us so warmly, the food was delicious and we felt such peace in our little apartment, which was great as we aren't really city folk and we would have found Houston hard work otherwise! Thank you all for making our stay memorable.

April 11, 2013
The Robin's Nest is charming and very relaxing. We stayed in Cindy's Room, which is not in the main house, but right next to it. We still were included in breakfast, which was wonderful each time. I love the fellowship of breakfast in a B&B and Robin's Nest had a great feeling of fellowship.

Cecelia's Room is soft but determined with red English Toile fabrics hand sewn by Robin for this room. The floors are the now-rare Longleaf Pine. The walls are MacArthur Park Green. The bathroom carries through with a red silk check. Cecelia's Room is on the second floor. It faces east so you get morning sun; however, the English toile drapes are beautifully lined so you can close out the light if you wish. Antonio's Room is a strikingly handsome bedroom, upstairs, with a queen-sized bed, private bath and charming kitchen. Check in time is After 1 p.m. and Check out time is 11:00 AM. 10' ceilings, original, rare, Longleaf Pine hardwood floors. A good room for writing poetry, I think.

The private bath is just outside your door, and no one else uses it except you. You can relax in the deep, claw footed Victorian tub or enjoy our Victorian "shower contraption". Bold, warm colors. If you're planning to pop the question or close a business deal, this is the room that will give your adrenalin an extra drop or two. It's especially private because it's detached from the main house. It's in the second house (c.1920) called "The little Nest", toward the back of the property. A queen bed, original art, a French pedestal table for an intimate chat, which Robin brought back from Paris: or, if you must, work. A shower for one, or a deep whirlpool for two, or just you after a long day and before that oh, so comfortable, bed.

5 out of 5Hidden Gem in Houston!
April 07, 2013
A wonderful place to stay in Houston, especially if you're into museums and the fine arts. It is nestled in a very safe and quiet neighborhood two blocks from a main thoroughfare road. It's a reasonable one mile walk from the main museum district, and half that to the Menil Collection and the Rothko Chapel. Breakfast is served with a flair for the healthy and fresh, with creative egg dishes and fresh fruit in addition to great coffee, tea, and juices. Very whimsical decor is distinctive and fun.
5 out of 5Where's the Mad Hatter?
March 28, 2013
The Robin's Nest B & B was nothing like I expected. From the moment we came through the front door, we were awed by the colors and patterns of paint and fabric, enchanting the eye wherever we looked. I felt like Alice in Wonderland, having just fallen through the rabbit hole. The dining table, with its eclectic place settings, had a tea-party charm. The surprises didn't end when we went upstairs. Our "room" was actually a delightfully colorful complete apartment! And, oh, the breakfasts were so delicious and filling that we never ate lunch. As if all of this wasn't enough, Robin regaled us with the history of the neighborhood from its days as a farm to the delightfully, trendy area it has become. We spent four days at the Robin's Nest and, if we ever visit Houston again, we'll be staying there and I'll still be watching for the Mad Hatter.

I enjoyed my stay at Robin's Nest. The property and rooms are quirky and fun and the location is outstanding. Marta's communication beforehand was perfect; I knew just what to expect. Breakfast was wonderful (they happily accommodated my diet) and so was the conversation with other guests. These guys are professionals and it shows!
