Casa Rama is a gorgeous mansion from the 1930's lovingly restored. It was a pleasure just to walk around the house and its grounds. The owner and staff were very friendly and the food was good (especially the homemade braided bread).

Thank you very much for giving us an excellent review.Right now, Casa Rama is undergoing more improvement to better serve our guests. We newly converted the garage into a commercial kitchen and the back room into a very spacious ADA restroom plus a beautiful new ramp with cover for guests on wheelchair.That explains the dust that we are constantly chasing. When everything is finished, in addition to the B&B, we will be open to the public up to 40 guests only for social events by appointment only.

the backyard has a pool, a beautiful pergola and a swing with an arch covered with sweet smelling jasmine. Large Mexican pots with flowers and plants are everywhere. Chirping birds are seen and occasionally wild tree ducks, pheasants and turkeys. In spring, Mexican parrots also visit and feast on the ripe papayas from the backyard.The Breakfast Room-This grand room has a beautiful view of the swimming pool, flowing fountain and the garden outside. Enjoy sipping your coffee and a delicious breakfast every morning here.
The Veranda Room- $150 This exquisitely charming room has a lovely view of the flower garden and the swimming pool.This room features a queen size bed all plumped up with ultra luxurious featherbed and feather pillows. It is perfect for that romantic garden feel with vines and roses climbing by the foot of your bed. It has its own private bath and showerThe Rose Room- $130.00 The beauty of this room speaks for itself. It is decorated with authentic antique furniture complete with an armoire to house the guests' personal belongings. Beautiful rose print wallpaper adorn the walls to compliment the two stained glass windows.It has its own private bath and shower.
Eleanor's Room- $150.00 The only bedroom of the ground floor is named after its famous guest Eleanor Roosevelt who visited the Rio Grande Valley in the 1930's. This truly romantic room has a queen size four poster bed and antique decor.It has its own private bathtub and shower.THE BLUE AND WHITE ROOM $160.00 This beautifully decorated room is the second largest room on the upper floor.It has two full size beds, private bath and shower, ample storage,antique armoire, dresser, writing desk, and cable T.V.
THE LAVENDER ROOM $195.00 The largest bedroom on the second floor has a luxurious king size bed, sitting area, writing desk, 32" T.V. with cable channels, walk-in closet, master bath with jacuzzi tub and separate shower.The room has a lovely view of the garden and old canopy trees outside.The living room is filled with the owners' antique collections ,some are museum pieces.
The piano room has a circular window, beautifully restored original parquet floor, antique furnitures , one of which has handwritten notes of the butler's loan of $4100 on Jan 1st 1921- all written on the bottom part of a drawer.the beautiful winding staircase with the original light fixture and banister is a favorite background for bridal photo op.
Christmas 2007 at Casa RamaThe Breakfast Room- This grand room has a breathtaking view of the backyard flower garden, flowing fountain and swimming pool. Enjoy the ambience while sipping your coffee and savoring the delicious breakfast every morning here.
