This lovely Arts and Crafts style B&B is directly across the street from Southwestern University and just moments from all that Georgetown has to offer. Downtown Austin is just 30 minutes away, and Texas' beautiful Hill Country begins right here in Georgetown. The furnishings and decorating of San Gabriel House wonderfully compliment the intended grandeur of this 1914 mansion. 5 beautifully appointed guest rooms with king beds in the main house, plus a queen suite in the Carriage House next door, each with an excellent private bath, its own unique character, and your ultimate comfort in mind. Whether you choose our gorgeous Victorian parlor downstairs, our extremely comfortable and well-stocked library upstairs, our large wrap-around veranda with really comfortable seating, or our extensive gardens full of antique roses and much more, you can relax and feel you are somewhere special. Georgetown's award-winning downtown historic square is nearby. In the morning, join fellow guests in our elegant dining room for a tempting, gourmet-style breakfast. San Gabriel House's Texas hospitality will make your stay a memorable one. Enjoy!

My boyfriend & I were planning a quiet vacation from Dallas close to the Austin area. I had looked at several B&B's in the area. We were attending the production of "The Lion King" in Austin. I had googled several B&B's and The San Gabriel stood out more to me more in their website. The layout of the pictures and information provided was quite enchanting. Once I had called and spoke w/the owners, who by the way are a very lovely couple, they answered all of the questions I had very nice fully. We ended up going around Valentine's Day and even got lost w/the car's GPS system (thanks to my boyfriend being very stubborn about taking the electronic device directions). However, once I called and spoke w/the owners. They were VERY helpful w/guiding us safely to their location. Once we arrived, they were very welcoming and explained all that we needed to know within our stay. The 2nd floor room were we had reserved was absolutely breathtaking. My favorite part was the bathtub, the superb morning breakfast, and the balcony. I truly enjoyed watching the sunrise on the balcony w/a hot cup of coffee. The guest that we happened to meet were very friendly and everybody was accommodating especially the owners. I recommend this B&B to anyone who wants peace, harmony, &/or break peacefully within a trip. I also love the fact that children were not there during our visit. There are so many things to do and places to go in Georgetown. It was so very romantic and fun. I've told everybody about the excellent hospitality and we look forward to going again. Thank you guys do very much:-)!

We stayed one night in February 2010. Neil and Dee were very attentive and spent a good amount of time chatting with us about the building. The furnishings and decorations are very fine. We were able to tour each room as no one else had checked in. Breakfast was very good. The library is fantastic! We hope to enjoy a longer stay in the future.

The San Gabriel House is an elegant, yet extremely homey B&B. I felt so comfortable there, and would have stayed longer if I could have afforded the time! Dee and Neil Rapp are great hosts, and made themselves completely available to me, yet not overly so. I appreciated that, as well as the delectable breakfasts that I enjoyed everyday in their fine dining room. (I highly recommend Dee's Apple Quiche.) The next time I’m in Georgetown, I’ll be sure to stay again at this lovely B&B.

The atmosphere was very relaxing. Particularly enjoyed spending time on the spacious porch. The porch is deep for shade and privacy and the porch furniture is exceptional quality. We will be returning for another visit. J & D

My husband and I enjoyed one of our best nights of sleep at this Georgetown B&B, and the famed comfort of the mattress does not disappoint! The breakfast was extremely tasty, but we found the coffee to be a bit weak. Owners were very friendly and very helpful. My husband and I did find the house to be almost too quiet, and were surprised to find ourselves whispering to each other in our room. Conveniently located across from the university and a quick ride to the lovely downtown square.

Very pleasant host and hostess, in a beautiful home that they clearly enjoy sharing. And a delightful variety of guests.

From I35, take Exit 261 East onto SH 29 (sign for Southwestern University). This is also University Avenue. Continue on University, crossing the RR tracks. Go through the next traffic light, and the San Gabriel House is on the right at the next intersection, University and Olive. Pull under the porte-cochere to register and unload, and then pull around the corner to park in our lot in back of the house.
