Magnolia House

This is a very romantic and great place to live. It is very clean and is decorated very well. The couple who own this place, Lisa and Claude and very nice and gave us some valuable information regarding our trip. They have some very good breakfast served in the morning. I enjoyed my stay here and will visit again!

Very quiet place to stay. The breakfasts are amazing! Claude will cook you a different breakfast if you have food allergies. Beautiful place to stay and worth every penny. Be sure to book early!

I have been going to the Magnolia House for eighteen years and it just keeps getting better. Recently spent three nights there and Claude & Lisa have continued to set the bar high for hospitality and service. The two-course breakfasts are exceptional - as good as one would find in a 5-star establishment! The afternoon baked goods are a favorite treat of mine - Claude has the hands of an angel, his baked goods are so light and delicious! The linens and rooms are superb and they truly make you feel like you are home with family!

Just returned from a wonderful weekend get-away at this B&B in Fredericksburg with visiting family from Wisconsin. The hospitality and accommodations were top notch. We especially raved about the tasty breakfast cheerfully served in the morning. It was perfect and made the memorable stay so wonderful. We highly recommend and can't wait to return on our next visit to the area.

Just spent another wonderful Easter weekend at the Magnolia House. Wonderful place to stay and really special hosts, Claude and Lisa. Claude's breakfasts and afternoon cookies are to die for. Lisa decorated the Easter Sunday table with little Easter baskets for each guest. Can't think of a better place to stay.

My husband and I were thrilled with our stay at Magnolia House to celebrate our one year anniversary. We stayed in the Magnolia Suite and loved it. The room is impeccable. It is beautifully decorated and furnished, and it has its own convenient entrance on the side of the house. The owners, Claude and Lisa, were incredibly hospitable. They gave us great tips and literature for the happenings around Fredericksburg. Also, the breakfasts were delicious and, at other times besides breakfast, there was always a home-cooked snack, coffee, tea, water, and wine available. Know that Magnolia House is not right on Main Street and is not within walking distance of it, but we found parking easily and enjoyed getting away from the busy street at the end of the day. We definitely recommend Magnolia House.

We enjoyed our stay at the Magnolia House so much. Claude is a fantastic cook, and breakfast was amazing!! The table was always set so beautifully and we totally enjoyed enjoyed the company at the table too. Lisa it's a great hostess and thinks of everything.. Even aloe for sunburns! This is a wonderful place to stay and I hope we can come back again soon.

Lisa did a great Job in the absence of Claude, who we hope to meet on our next visit, which we have already booked. My wife and I found the house to be very comfortable. Wonderful weekend away for two exhausted parents of twin 3 year olds who were fortunate enough to have grandma and grandpa give them a 2 day pass to freedom :) The Magnolia House was the perfect B&B for us. No detail was overlooked. The owners were incredible hosts who thought of absolutely everything to make our stay a great one. The home and room was neat, clean and comfortable. Breakfast and afternoon treats were delicious. Location was perfect for us - not too close to the main street noise, but only about 5 blocks away. We drove to Main St., but parking was free everywhere, so this was very convenient. We look forward to going back to Fredericksburg, TX and definitely look forward to going back to the Magnolia House B&B!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very clean. We were not presented with a lot of dos and don'ts. The owners were very helpful & accommodating with our schedule. I would recommend this B& B. We stayed upstairs in the American Beauty room. The bathroom was very spacious compared to other B & B.

Four couples visited Fredericksburg last week -- the girls to play in a Mah Jongg tournament, the guys to play the newly refurbished Lady Bird Johnson golf course. We chose to stay at the Magnolia House. Lisa and Claude have thought of EVERYTHING -- there are even reading glasses on the dining room table, flashlights by every bedside, and games,books and movies available. The Magnolia House is not only beautiful and tastefully furnished with period antiques, but it has some amazing architectural details that Lisa showed us. And the place is SPOTLESS. Our hosts were so gracious and accommodating - they moved breakfast up an hour so we could stick to our schedules - how nice was that of them? And boy oh boy, that breakfast! Banana pancakes, homemade cherry scones, baked eggs, wonderful sausage, and great coffee. We were asking Claude and Lisa to adopt us! And if you stay with them at Magnolia House, you will feel like a spoiled child and an honored guest. Very clean, comfortable, relaxing and did I say the breakfast was excellent. Claude and Lisa made us feel very welcome.

2013 is the 20th year that we have gone to the Magnolia House. Place is best in town and Fredericksburg is always a fun place to go. Little of everything. Plan to go another 20. Great managers, great rooms and always entertaining guests from all over and all ages.

Staying in the Bluebonnet Suite was a perfect fit for our 4 day stay. It is like a small well appointed apt. The Saunders' paid attention to every detail in the room and in the home its self. Delicious breakfast, always presented in a special way. Delightful cookies and pie treats in the afternoon. Coffees, teas and nibbles at the ready for all the guests. Just a mere mention of a need and it was seen too. We left, planning our return stay.

From the friendly greeting at the door to the warm wishes for a safe trip home, the folks at Magnolia Inn did everything right. The host showed us around the property, and made us feel at home. They had all sorts of wonderful touches to make our stay special - drinks and snacks available all day, extra toiletries in case we forgot anything, a very comfortable living room and sitting room where we could relax, a pleasant porch with a fountain - everything was wonderful! Our room was very nice, and I loved the very soft sheets and comfortable mattress. And the breakfast? Absolutely great! We will definitely come back to Magnolia Inn - it was a wonderful experience at a very fair price!

Our stay at MH was great from the moment we arrived on the picturesque grounds. We were greeted by a most cheerful host that had a smile for as she led to what would be our place of solitude for our stay. Now as you enter this home you realize that Claude and Lisa have given this labour of love all the comforts that they have found to be most important when you are away from your home. There are so many final touches that come down to one important character that the Saunders both willing live out and that is hospitality. I have and would continue to recommend MH to anyone who takes interest in staying in Bed and Breakfasts that are willing to make sure that you feel as though you are always welcome.

The only issue was having to walk across the hall to get to our bathroom.

It was perfect, they thought of everything and everyone should stay here. We also did the wine tour as an option and that was amazing as well

We just spent four memorable days in Fredericksburg celebrating our anniversary and the experience was made all the greater by the accommodations we had at the Magnolia House. This is a well-appointed old Texan home that's on the historical record right in the heart of Fredericksburg. We stayed three nights and enjoyed three great breakfasts by Claude who provided us with a creative gluten-free menu while he served all the other guests a new and different breakfast each morning. The house affords its guest spacious living areas with an outside patio for relaxing and enjoying good wine and conversation. I think the sleeping accommodations are about the most comfortable I've experienced, especially the Comfy sheets. It's a five-star B&B in our estimation. The hosts, Claude and Lisa, are very welcoming and think of everything.

My wife and I have stayed at over a 100 B&B's throughout the US and Europe over the past 40 years and I would place the Magnolia in the top 3. Everything was perfect - the hosts, the room, the amenities, and the food. We think they've thought of everything. A really great experience that we would highly recommend.

My daughter and I stayed last weekend for my birthday celebration. Very lovely and large home. Lisa and Claude were wonderful hosts. We were very appreciative that they accommodated my daughter’s gluten free diet and the breakfasts were such a gourmet treat. I’m enjoying the cookbook they have for purchase, can’t wait to try their Vanilla Corn Bread! Had fun picking out a movie to watch from their extensive collection. Magnolia House is located in a quiet neighborhood just a few blocks from Main Street. This home should be your number one pick!

If you read even some of the other reviews posted about the Magnolia House you will pretty much get the picture, "Claude and Lisa are perfect!" Hence there is no reason for me to be long winded the other reviewers have already said all there is to say. This is the best B&B you could ever stay at and out of the dozen or so my wife and I have vacationed at it is our favorite. Before Tripadvisor reformatted their website so you could only see the top attractions/hotels/restaurants etc in a certain city not only was the Magnolia House the number one B&B in Fredericksburg but it was the NUMBER one B&B in the entire state! Deservedly so! Enough said. Stay here, enjoy and say hi to Claude and Lisa!!!

Enjoyed our brief one night stay here. The house was large and very well appointed. I thought the room rate a bit high for a midweek off-season stay, but we'll definitely consider this property for our next visit.

We spent our anniversary weekend at this gem, Magnolia House. It was immaculate, peaceful and restorative. Jill, the Innkeeper was there to assist us while the Owners were vacationing. She treated the Inn as if it were her own, and she treated us like family, not just guests. Our breakfasts were of gourmet caliber. We went to Magnolia House at the recommendation of our friends, who stayed there in July. We certainly will return and we will refer others to this wonderful Inn in Fredericksburg, TX.

This bed and breakfast was by far the most wonderful place to stay. The owners Lisa and Claude go the extra mile to ensure your complete comfort and enjoyment. The house is simply gorgeous. They have "goodies" and drinks in the fridge for guests to enjoy. They have the most comfortable eets ever! They put so much thought in everything they do. The breakfast was incredible! Last Thursday my two sisters and I checked in at the charming Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast on Hackberry Street in Fredericksburg, Tx, and were surprised at how lovely the 1923, 4,000 square foot house that awaited us looked. The pictures we had seen on the internet did hold justice to how beautiful the house was furnished and decorated with matching drapes, bed and wall decor. The room was filled with all the amenities a weary traveler needs such as robes hanging in the closet, fresh towels and room service daily each morning. In the Bluebonnet Suite we had a 1948 refrigerator with a carafe filled with wine, canned drinks, and bottles of cold water! There was even the nice touch such as a lint brush hanging on the bedroom door. Cookies and wine were sit out in the living room for all the guests to share in the afternoon. Breakfast was divine! Lisa and Claude were our hosts and they were the most gracious couple. Claude was the chef and Lisa did about everything else. Each morning the table would be decorated in a different manner, maybe different colors or porcelain animals and always fresh flowers everywhere, even the rooms. It was such fun meeting travelers from different parts of Texas and leaving Magnolia House with new friends, just over a few cups of coffee a scone, and maybe a waffle. I plan to go back again. I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else in Fredricksburg now and this was my first time to experience a B&B. I told may husband he has got to experience the Magnolia House!

This was the most wonderful experience. Claude and Lisa have created a warm, inviting atmosphere. The entire house was very clean and expertly maintained in a historical period setting. Claude is superb chef, the breakfast meals were better than what We have had in 5 star hotels. They keep all the details in mind and made us feel as welcome as old friends in their home. Simply put, the Magnolia House was the best B&B at which we had ever stayed. Claude and Lisa both are master innkeepers and they work together to cover every contigency, all to give their guests an outstanding experience.

There are no words to describe the outstanding hospitality my sister Michelle and I received during our stay at the Magnolia House. This was our very first time at a B&B. I don't think I would ever want to stay at a hotel again. Claude and Lisa are wonderful hosts. Our room was very clean, adorable and spacious. The bathroom was clean and spacious as well. We spent two nights in the Lilli Marleen room at Magnolia House to celebrate our anniversary. It couldn't have been more perfect! We spent two nights at the Magnolia House in the Bluebonnet Suite over the Memorial Day weekend and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The hosts are wonderful, and Claude is a great cook. It is a beautiful home, and we would definitely stay there again. The Martins

My husband and I just returned home from a wonderful stay at the Magnolia House. Our visit could not have been better. The accomodations were immaculate and comfortable. The sheets were heavenly!!! From the lavendar bubble bath to a supply of drinks, coffee, tea and wine in the room made the stay even better. The breakfasts were OUTSTANDING!! I purchased the cookbook and hope to replicate the dishes that we had. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting with the other guests and found we all had lots in common. We heard we had some storm damage to our home while we were gone and arrived to a sweet e-mail from Lisa wishing us well. We highly recommend the Magnolia House.

We lucked out on our first outing to Fredericksburg, Tx. By chance, I booked two rooms for my husband and myself and our dear friends from New Jersey at the Magnolia House. We were all more than pleased to meet Lisa and Claude and view our beautiful, spacious rooms. The warm decor, immaculate bathrooms and beautiful garden were more than we could have hoped for. Claude's gormet cookies and breakfasts were truly a treat. If you are planning a trip to Fredericksburg in the future, I stronly suggest that you stay at the Magnolia House. You will not be disappointed. We hope to go back soon.

We are teachers and wanted a place to get away. Perfect for this. We loved sitting around the koi pond and watching movies at night in our suite. Lots of fun!

This was our first stay at a B&B....and we loved it!! Some of the other guest that we met were return guest there and always stayed at this same place because of the location....off the main street....so very quiet...and peaceful....the rooms are beautiful....the beds and linens awesome! And the Innkeepers Claude and Lisa are just the greatest.....so helpful and nice...I would stay here again.....I am thinking for our first stay at a B&B....we got lucky!!

The Magnolia House is truly home away from home! Claude & Lisa made our stay so enjoyable. The gourmet breakfast was absolutely delicious. We enjoyed sitting out by the Koi Pond having our cheese & wine. The Magnolia House is located in a quiet neighborhood not far the Main Street action. The beds were so comfy!!!!! The Magnolia House is unparalleled in quality, attention to detail, value, cleanliness and service. Lisa and Claude are gracious hosts and they made us feel like we were visiting old friends, instead of paying guests. A few friends and myself were on a one day shopping trip in Fredericksburg and decided to stay at this B & B due to the excellent ratings. This B & B lives up to those ratings and then some! There is nothing Lisa and Claude have not thought of. When you think of Southern charm and hospitality...you will think of the Magnolia House after your stay. Claude's culinary skills are amazing and you can tell he loves what he does. Each dish was beautifully plated on pretty china, delicious and served in the beautiful dining room. The common areas are equally impressive and the property is very nice. Much to our surprise on this Thursday, we had the whole B & B to ourselves. We checked out every room for future stays and each one was charming and cozy. The Bluebonnet and Magnolia Suites are the true epitome of Southern Charm. The sheets are something to experience and you will want a set for your very own. The afternoon home made cookies, wine, sodas and soft music playing in the living room is just a sample of what this B & B has to offer their guests for a wonderful experience. I would not hesitate to stay there again and would recommend it to everyone. Go visit Lisa and Claude's beautiful home and all it has to offer. We are already planning another trip.

The entire B&B is so warm and professionally decorated. The host and Hostess are so delightful and they provide a wonderful breakfast. Never stayed in a place so clean.

Being a road warrior, I am used to staying in sterile, chain hotels so the Magnolia House was a special treat while in Fredericksburg on business. What a special place! Calude and Lisa were fantastic hosts and made my stay special. I loved the coffee bar set-up in the dining room so that I could indulge my coffee habit at will and my room was spacious and accomodating to the business traveler as well as tourist. I would highly recommend the Magnolia House to anyone visiting Fredericksburg for any reason!

This was our first visit to Fredricksburg and we would could not have picked a lovelier place to stay. Lisa and Claude were so helpful and accommodating...the food was spectacular! (Thank you Claude!) And Lisa made sure every detail was taken care of. We felt like family!

Lisa greeted us and made us feel like old friends. We loved our room and the whole house - we felt very comfortable. Claude made an outstanding breakfast both mornings of our visit. We had a sit down meal with the other guests at nine each morning. We will definitely return.

My friends and I take a two day Christmas trip every year and stay in a bed and breakfast. The Magnolia House was by far the most comfortable, and every need was met. The home was beautiful. We very much enjoyed our room (Peach Blossom), and especially the bath tub, which was so nice it made us run late for check-out time! :-) The innkeepers were fantastic from start to finish. Making reservations was easy, and I really appreciated them letting me make them by phone. I received several reminders of my stay. We were warmly greeted upon arrival and shown the house and our room. Huge perks like the use of a refrigerator, free wine for the taking, and if we had forgotten something (razor, toothbrush, etc), they had those complimentary. The breakfast was FANTASTIC. The service was outstanding. We will certainly be back for another stay. I would (and already have done so) recommend this B&B to anyone I know. Have I said fantastic? I have? Good, it's worth repeating!

Claude and Lisa are a team and make sure you are taking care of in many ways. The home is very clean and nice. They have fresh baked cookies and coffee in the evening. Other beverages are available for the guest anytime during the day. The comfy sheets are the best I have ever slept on. They can be purchased through Lisa. Claude's breakfasts are Oh My are out of this world. Several sitting rooms for you to relax with movies, books and music. The grounds are fun. Sitting areas for you to enjoy your coffee that is freshly prepared for you in mornings. Calude and Lisa go the extra mile to help you feel right at home.

The hosts seem to have thought of everything - luxurious sheets and towels, bathrobes, game collection, DVD collection. There were freshly baked evening cookies, and the breakfast was scrumptious - unusual flavors such as lemon pancakes, eggnog French toast, poached pears, blackberries...we were blown away. When we asked about a restaurant in Marble Falls, they found a quiet, reasonably-priced Italian place that was perfect for meeting a friend. Highly recommended!

The accommodations, food and hosts were outstanding, a wonderfull experience.

My wife and I have been to Fredricksburg many times, but have not found a house more welcoming and comforting than the Magnolia House. This was our second stay there. Claude and Lisa always make sure that all of our needs are taken care of! I would highly encourage any visitors to book a stay there!

The stay at Magnolia House was part of a birthday celebration. The weather was perfect which gave us the opportunity to have a glass of wine in the evening outside by the gold fish pond. The room was larger than expected and the bed was quite comfortable. Both of the breakfasts were outstanding. We enjoyed sharing conversation with several of the other guests during both breakfasts.

We had a wonderful time our host was most greatest and the food was excellent and the rooms were great. I would recommend that any try it you will love it. Claude and Lisa were great to us. Enjoy and relax.

This was our first time at a Bed and Breakfast. We couldn't have been more please with our stay. We were pleasantly surprised with their breakfast, it was like having a personal chef. Claude was truly amazing with his cooking skills. Claude and Lisa were great. The Magnolia house is very roomy and the out door space is very nice. We will be back! I highly recommend it to everyone. You will not be dissappointed.

Our most recent trip to Magnolia House was a family event to celebrate my Dad's 80th birthday. My husband and I had stayed there before, but my Mom, Dad and sister had not been there. They had heard us rave about it, and agreed that it absolutely lived up to our gushing. The rooms are great, and Claude and Lisa have taken care of every detail. Claude's breakfasts are exceptional, with amazing choices that make each day very special. If you're ever going to Fredericksburg, you MUST stay at Magnolia House!

This is our favorite B&B in Fredericksburg. This was our 5th stay and was just as superb as our first. The hosts are incredibly warm and friendly and go out of there way to make you feel at home.

Thank you for the stellar hospitality. The house is beautiful, the surrounds lovely (despite the drought) and a very nice quiet neighbourhood made for great sleeping - not to mention those incredibly comfortable sheets. If it wasn't so darn hot I'm sure we would have enjoyed many a walk around the neighbourhood or down to Main Street but given the 100+ temps we opted for the air-conditioned car most days. Breakfasts were great, I wish I could have finished them!

The Magnolia House was a perfect bed and breakfast for my fiance and I. It felt like home away from home. Claude and Lisa were very nice and helpful! The sheets were amazing and so was the 2 course breakfast. I highly recommend this bed and breakfast!

Enjoyed the initial tour and explanation of the Magnolia House. Innkeepers pleasant. Quiet location, beautiful outdoor swing, which we enjoyed with a glass of wine, provided by the Inn. We would stay here again.

This was our first B&B, but if all of them are like this, we are definitely doing this again. It is more expensive than a hotel room, but the beautifully decorated cozy feeling room and quaint old home charm make it seem worth it. Claude and Lisa were very gracious hosts and tried to make us feel right at home (literally). Claude is an amazing cook, so breakfast was beyond our hopes. Even though we want to try other B&Bs, we will more than likely be going back to Magnolia House again as well, only this time we will stay longer.

My wife and I stayed in the bluebonnet suite. We loved it! Claude and Lisa were excellent hosts and breakfast was awesome and very filling (we only needed to snack before dinner)! The location is a little far to walk to Main St for shopping but it's a short car ride or perfect bike riding distance. They also provide refreshments like wine and cokes, coffee and tea for you to grab during the day (or night). We would definitely stay at Magnolia House again and will recommend it to friends.

The Magnolia House was a wonderful two days of elegance and peaceful rest. The Bluebonnet Suite was tastefully decorated, with wonderful bedding , totally private, quite and peaceful surroundings. We have stayed in many B&Bs, but this one will be the only one we stay at in Fredricksburg from now on. The Innkeepers were delightful. The gardens were pristine with lovely spots throughout for just sitting and enjoying the flowers, water pond, fountains, koi fish, shade trees....If you must connect your dread computer - they have internet connection but if you need rest this is the spot. The afternoon handmade snacks and beverages were a surprise as were the delicious breakfasts. The Innkeepers thought of all the details from lavendar bath salts to jars of chocolates in the rooms. The libraries both books, dvds, cd's and magazine/newspapers were lavish compared to some B&B's. The complimentary wine caraf of delicious wine was a special treat. We highly recommend this delightful inn.

We stayed three nights at the Magnolia House, starting Sunday May 29, 2011. Since this was our second stay in 13 months, we decided to try a different Suite - the Magnolia Suite. I recently stayed at the Magnolia House Bed and Breakfast while I was in Fredericksburg on a Girls Weekend Away with two friends. Our visit and stay could not possibly have been better. Claude and Lisa are the most charming hosts and we felt so welcomed in this lovely home. They have not missed a single detail in making the Magnolia House the best Bed and Breakfast that I have ever stayed in. The linens on the bed are divine - I didn't want to come home to the ones on my bed! There are wonderful robes provided in the rooms. All rooms have a television with a DVD player and Claude and Lisa have a closet full of DVD's from which to chose. The bathrooms have every amenity needed, including a hair dryer. Claude and Lisa leave wine, sodas and water in a refrigerator for guests to take, at no additional charge. And at 3 pm every day a wonderful treat appears. We had brownies and cookies and they were so yummy. The breakfast is beyond outstanding. There is a beautiful first course of fruit and a pastry followed by the main course. The two days that we were there the breakfasts had a delicious egg dish, pancakes and sausage one day and a spinach, mushroom casserole, french toast and local ham the next day. We go to Fredericksburg frequently and from now on our stay will always be at the Magnolia House. Next time my husband and I will take our bicycles to ride the beautiful Texas Hill Country and they can be safely placed in the garage at the Magnolia House. Every moment of our stay here was absolutely fantastic!

The Magnolia House provides the extras that make this bed and breakfast a cut above the rest. It starts with the cookies and continues with the extras especially with the robes and bathroom accessories. The room was perfect very clean with a comfortable bed and furnished just right. You feel like home there and Lisa and Claude are there if you need them for anything. The breakfast is simply the best Claude can cook with the best of them. We will return again and again.

We had never stayed at a Bed And Breakfast but after this fabulous experience at the Magnolia House will do so again. The accomodations, location, food were all exceptional!!

This was our second visit since our honeymoon in 1995. The new owners, Claude & Lisa, have really done some outstanding changes to all aspects of what a B&B is suppose to be all about. The grounds are beautiful to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. The gorgeous interior is very welcoming and has a good spirit. The owners are very pleasing and are on top of everything to the smallest detail. Wow, the breakfast is absolutely wonderful and they even have a book of recipes available. Too bad we only had a few days stay. Will be back as soon as possible. Highly, highly recommend this B&B. It's the Best!

Claude and Lisa are wonderful hosts. They have thought of everything you might need and have prepared for it. They are knowledgeable about the area, the restaurants and festivals in the area. We stayed July 4 weekend and went to a local winery they recommended and enjoyed the best fireworks! This trip we were there to see bluebonnets and there were none, but they had information on many other things going on in the area. Claude's cooking is amazing! There is something for everyone and it all ties in so nicely together to complete the breakfast. They are lovely people, so friendly and want you to enjoy your stay with them as well as your stay in the area. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The patio is so peaceful. The home is comfortable and there is plenty of room. Don't pass this one up! Stay here if you are in the Fredericksburg area!

I went up to Fredericksburg for a long weekend and booked Magnolia House based on reviews I found online. Lisa and Claude run a great B&B, and Claude's food is great. Everything he made tasted wonderful and there was a lot of it! I only had to eat 2 meals a day, since breakfast was so filling. The suite I stayed in was large and so pretty, but the walls are pretty thin, so if your neighbor is snoring loud, you will hear it! I would definitely come back here on my next trip.

This is was our second trip to Magnoila House Bed & Breakfast and it was just as perfect as the first trip. We felt peaceful and relaxed from the moment we got there until the moment we left. The gourmet breakfasts were awesome. We can't wait to return next year for a couple of more nights of sleep on the best sheets ever!!

Claude and Lisa, the Inn Keepers have this down! We have stayed there many times. We love their wonderful breakfasts and the interactions with the other guests. The house is a lovely historical place and beautifully decorated. We feel like we have made friends with Claude and Lisa and always look forward to staying at the Magnolia Bed and Breakfast in Fredericksburg! We love the Magnolia room but we have stayed in the others as well and they are fabulous. The sheets are heaven! Cookies in the evening, what more could you ask for?!!!

We had a wonderful stay in the former master bedroom. The house and grounds are beautiful and peaceful. The food was terrific and the host we met (Lisa) was very helpful and charming.

We've stayed at many b&b's through the years and have generally loved every one of them. In addition to the beautiful room, fantastic food, cleanliness, etc., what made this one particularly outstanding was the friendliness and the helpfulness of the owners: they gave us ideas for where to eat, what to do, etc., and were so responsive to little details about us, such as noticing that I like several cups of coffee early in the morning with lots of half and half, both of which they provided generously! We would definitely stay there again!

Magnolia House was by far the best experience I've ever had at a B&B. First, it was a lovely, and lovingly cared for, old home. Lisa and Claude are in the right business as they made me and my sister feel so welcome, comfortable and "at home". Lisa gave the welcoming tour and Claude did the cooking. His breakfasts rival anything you will find in any of the "finer" restaurants or Hotels anywhere. They were beautiful, delicious, interesting and unique. Every afternoon, there would be goodies on the buffet in the form of brownies, lemon-ginger cookies or chocolate chip-oatmeal cookies. Coffee and tea were always available. Our room was lovely and charming, not to mention comfortable. And the sheets were the softest I have ever felt. I will visit there again one day and will recommend Magnolia House to everyone looking for a lovely, quiet and charming place to go for a get-away.

This was our first experience with a Bed and Breakfast and what a great one we chose! From the hospitality when we walked in, to the amazing rooms, to the little amenities and topped off with an excellent and delicious breakfast, this is the perfect getaway experience through-and-through.

Ok, I don't like B&B's. I've only stayed at 6 or so and have never been pleased with them. I prefer anonymity to intimacy when I'm on vacation and find that the inconveniences of B&B's far outweigh any charm or marginal breakfast they provide. I called to check availability and spoke to Claude. I was immediately impressed with his friendliness and reasonable cancellation policies. The house is deceptively large. The first thing I noticed when Lisa was giving us the tour was the condition of the house. This house is amazingly maintained. All the doors that I used were smooth and tight and the walls were free of settle cracks. The paint was fresh and bright and carpets clean and in good condition. But, the thing that is most impressive for me is the cleanliness. This place is super clean. I didn't see any dust or dirt anywhere. The bedroom and bath were spotless. Even the vents and registers looked new. It almost had a "new construction" clean about everything, nothing collected in corners or out of the way places. The second thing I noticed was a tremendous attention to detail. They pay very close attention to even the smallest details and everything that can, has their name on it from towels and robes to soap and ink pens as well as full candy dishes all throughout the house and rooms. Now for the charm of inconvenience. Some rooms have baths in the room but ours actually had separate toilet and shower area. We had to go through a small common hall to access the toilet on the right or shower on the left. So, we had to don robes to go to bathroom or take a bath. Not my favorite feature, but what can you do. Breakfast: The food at the Magnolia House is higher end restaurant quality. We ate 3 meals and never had the same thing twice. T Another really nice touch is an old icebox that’s converted to a community fridge. They keep water bottles and soft drinks on hand and there’s space for you to store you leftovers from restaurants.

I have stayed at many B & B's and this one is at the top of my list. Very clean, private and comfortable. I only had one breakfast there and it was amazing, but my husband and son ate every morning and said breakfast was the best ever. If you are looking for a clean, comfortable place to stay close to town this is the place.

We had a wonderful time. Next time we stay we will be sure to get a king size bed as both myself and husband and 6foot tall.

My husband and I had never been to a B&B before, and we enjoyed our stay imensley. This past weekend was our 2 year aniversary. The idea of being in a home away from home was comforting. Claude and Lisa were very sweet and attentive. Breakfast was five star. The sheets and the Robes were UH-mazing!! The living spaces downstairs and the outside patio were so inviting and relaxing. The home is full of character and the other couples were a delight to meet. The only thing I would change is the mattress. It was a bit firm for me, but maybe some are ok with that. The sheets definetley made up for it. We have been ruined. B&B's are the best way to go when traveling or even a staycation. I would definetley visit and recommend Magnolia House!! Lisa and Claude provide a wonderful atmosphere that is like staying in the elegant home of a good friend. Wine and cookies in the "family room" every afternoon and evening. Open refrigerator with wine, juice and water available at all times. Wonderful, full breakfasts prepared by Claude, e.g., homemade raspberry scones one morning. Decorations are exquisite. The smallest details are taken care of. Very charming home, nice backyard, good location - about 1/2 mile from the main street of Fredericksburg.

My best friend and I made the Magnolia House our "home base" during a 2-day bicycle trip through the Hill Country. Very nice rooms, amazing breakfasts and friendly innkeepers! Was close enough to downtown to walk in to dinner. I would definitely stay again.

The Magnolia House was one of the best B&B’s we have ever stayed in. I took my wife there – without her knowing where we were going. It was a great surprise and our hosts, Claude and Lisa were great. The breakfasts were awesome and it is located right down the block from the square. We will definitely be going back again.

We relied on the positive reviews of this B and B so chose the Magnolia Suite for our two-day visit to Fredericksburg. We were not disappointed. The only "drawback" was that Fredericksburg is such an interesting destination that we didn't have enough time to enjoy the comfort and attractiveness of Magnolia House! Claude and Lisa especially emphasize the serving of a wonderful breakfast - unique recipes, beautifully presented. The house is a well-constructed and maintained and historic Arts and Craft home which has maintained its original charm over the years.

Absolutely stellar B&B from the delicious elaborate breakfasts, warm homemade cookies in the afternoon, calm & inviting backyard koi pond patio area, home full of history and beautifully appointed rooms, close location to Main, accurate and insightful restaurant suggestions, free wi-fi, accessibility to biking routes, incredibly soft linens on the beds and nice selection of DVD's to watch after a full day exploring Fredericksburg. Claude & Lisa's attention to detail and anticipating their guests needs without being intrusive make this our favorite B&B experience yet. We will be back!

The Magnolia House is a wonderful place to relax and get away...my wife had a wonderful experience there and really enjoyed the surrounding area too. Close enough to walk to downtown main street, and Fredricksburg is a great weekend spot.

My husband and I had our first experience at a Bed and Breakfast at the Magnolia House in Fredricksberg, Texas and couldn't have picked a more pleasant place to stay. Claude and Lisa Saunders were fantastic hosts and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in the door. We learned the history of the house that was built in the 1920's and about the original owners. The house was immaculate and grounds were very well kept. The four huge Manolia trees in the front yard were evidently the source of the name of the house. The breakfasts were beyond compare and all the attention to details from refillable water bottles, to forgotten neccesities, to afternoon treats was marvelous. We were definately pampered without being overwhelmed. We hope to be guests at this home again...maybe to celebrate our next anniversary.

Claude and Lisa were fabulous hosts, very welcoming. They were also able to answer all our questions about the area. They recommended two wonderful restaurants for our evening dining. The B&B was very relaxing, lots of extra special touches to make it feel homey and enhance the stay. Claude is a outstanding and creative cook - he combines local flavor to make the special breakfasts. The afternoon baked goodies are a neat extra.

My husband and I received a gift certificate to Magnolia House and were so pleased with our stay. We frequently stay at bed and breakfast inns when we travel and both agree that Magnolia House rates near the top of our experiences. The inn is very thoughtfully equipped with snacks, drinks, and movies, and both innkeepers gave us a warm and personal welcome. My husband and I both have dietary restrictions that have caused other innkeepers concern in the past, but Claude and Lisa took it all perfectly in stride and made us each individual meals that satisfied all of our dietary restrictions and were absolutely delicious. We hope to stay at Magnolia House again for another getaway soon now that we know such a comfortable stay is available to us.

The breakfasts were great. Claude and Lisa are very hospitable and friendly. The other guests were pleasant people and we enjoyed visiting with them.We also enjoyed the very large assortment of movies and music. We were in the morning room every morning early so we could enjoy the dieliious smells coming from the baking that Claude was doing. The upkeep of the grounds was great, very neat and enjoyable.

The Magnolia House is a fabulous bed & breakfast. I have been about 7 times, with hubby, girlfriends and family. It is ALWAYS very clean, very comfortable. Great house with character and history. Excellent bed and breakfast - close to everything in Fredericksburg, TX - breakfast was very good and filling (excellent chef) - hospitality was superb - premises were very well kept and the home felt just like that ... a home. My wife and I were traveling for our 25th anniversary (2nd honeymoon) and we stayed 2 nights at the Magnolia House. That's the best decision I have made in choosing places to stay. It was perfect.

This was a great find. We've never stayed in a bed and breakfast before, but this one exceeded our expectations. We stayed in The Bluebonnet Suite which was quite roomy. It had a little kitchen which was quit convenient. The breakfast was wonderful each morning. We were staying at the bed and breakfast with other family members to celebrate my parents 60th wedding anniversary. Claude and Lisa even made reservations to a restaurant they suggested and my parents had a wonderful time.

The setting of Magnolia House in Fredericksburg, TX is not only beautiful, but is peaceful and tranquil as well. The owners, Claude and Lisa provided outstanding hospitality and guest service. They have truly gone the extra mile to appoint the house with all a guest might need and warmly welcomed us initially and throughout our stay, letting us know they were available for any question or need that might arise. Claude prepares the most delicious gourmet breakfast that you can imagine. Let’s just leave it at that so you too can be surprised, but let me just say, “yum”! We stayed in the Lilli Marleen room. It is beautiful, warm and cozy. The owners were also kind enough to allow us to see unoccupied rooms and suites before we left. We found all of them to be fabulous, each unique and inviting. We learned that Magnolia House was built is the 1920’s by it’s original owner Edward Stein who was an architect. He took great pains to pay attention to every detail. The results are outstanding! I thoroughly enjoyed the home’s architecture with old style built-ins and nooks throughout the home including gorgeous fireplaces and glass cabinetry. The furnishings are gorgeous and distinctive, yet every single place I sat was “oh so comfortable” as well. I found not only one but several favorite places to sit, relax and take in the beauty of the home and grounds. In the evenings and mornings, one favorite was relaxing at the covered patio table by the koi pond. In the afternoons, I enjoyed the warmth of the sun on the front porch in a very comfortable wicker chaise. The porch is the perfect outdoor reading spot as you can feel the warmth of the sun, yet you are shaded. In addition, the way the porch is designed the opening between the bottom railing and the roof is huge; this creates a truly awesome panoramic view of the grounds’ Magnolia trees. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Magnolia House and highly recommend to others.

Everything was done up first class. Great hosts. Breakfasts were excellent.

They had the best breakfast every morning. I loved being at the table and meeting the other house guests. Free Wi-Fi, beautiful historic home, great outdoor areas, and Claude and Lisa were just beautiful people. They were convienently located right next to the downtown area. I spent the weekend at Magnolia House in order to gain some precious writing time, and I couldn't have been any more pleased with the outcome. Claude and Lisa were more than accomodating, and my space was positively enchanting, with a fireplace, the slow trickle of water outside my screen door, delicious cookies every afternoon . . . I couldn't have asked for a better place to work. I'll definitely be back.

We have stayed at 5 B & B's in Fredericksburg, and the Magnolia house is our favorite. Breakfast is serviced in the dining room and is fabulous. It is nice to have use of the house and yard. They serve a delicious freshly made snack in the afternoon as well as soft drinks ,tea,coffee and wine. The rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated. If you have forgotten anything, there is a nicely stock cabinet with just about anything you might need. Claude and Lisa are very gracious hosts.

This was the first time for our "girls" trip. We couldn't have found a more wonderful place to stay. The breakfast's by Claude, with Lisa's help, were incredible and something to look forward to each morning. The house is historic with beauty and charm. The owners have thought of everything to make a guests' stay perfect and just like they had the amenities of home. Our BlueBonnett suite was perfect and we had the freedom to move around the main house as we wanted, to sit and talk, play games, sit outside or pick up a sweet goodie around 3 pm. We loved everything about our time at the Magnolia House and Fredericksburg. Lisa and Claude are knowledgeable about the area and are the perfect host and hostess. Thank you!!!
