The period cabins, with period furnishings on acres of land along a stream is great. You couldn't ask for a nicer place in the Texas Hill Country close to Austin and other major cities.

The cabin was great but needed a couple repairs; otherwise, a most enjoyable get away. Dined at the Nest which was outstanding. Will be back.

Owner has taken a lovely location and turned it into a little oasis in the Texas hill country. We stayed in the Lucerne cabin. Great front porch with a little stream running right outside our front door. Quiet and secluded but right on the heart of Fredericksburg. I gave mostly 3 stars because this stay met my expectations as the place was everything it was advertised to be, except this is not a Bed and Breakfast. There is no breakfast that comes with the room and no dining facilities at the location. This was not a problem because there are lots of options to choose from within a mile of the place. However, one of the charms of a Bed and Breakfast is the intimate dining experience of an owner who provides a great breakfast. Additionally, there is the cost factor. For those who plan to get a good breakfast down to start their day and are on a vacation budget, not providing breakfast but advertising the facility as a Bed and Breakfast is a bit deceiving. I suggest getting with several of the local dining establishments and providing vouchers to the guests so they can get their breakfast in that manner. I would stay here again as it was really very pretty, scenic and peaceful.
Dear guest, thank you very much for taking the time for your review. We very much appreciate it. As you stated we are in fact not a traditional B&B where you rent a room in a house with others. Barons CreekSide is a little village where every guest has his own cabin or house on 26 acres. Our guest are typically not those who want to have to have breakfast with other guests but prefer their total privacy. We therefore have half of our cabins equipped with a coffeemaker, MV, toaster oven, fridge, all utensils and a BBQ grill. Half of our cabins have a full kitchen. We do stock complimentary coffee and juice in all cabins. Our website shows what every cabin features and we nowhere describe ourselves as a B&B. We also do offer a romantic gourmet dinner served by a local Chef in the cabin. It is offered as an option when you book your cabin. We would be very happy to see you again here. Yours Daniel

The cabin was extremly cosy for the weekend. Especially when it rained from Sturday evening throughout the night it was very nice to sit on the porch and enjoy a great glass of wine. It was the right setting to relax for a few days from the hectic of the working relaity. We will come back - promise! Note: I have to rate "Dining" - this cabin was without dining and I just gave it a rating of '3'. I hope this does not drag down the overall score.

The Lucerne Cabin at Baron's CreekSide was absolutely adorable. My parents stayed there for their 33rd wedding anniversary so my husband and I decided to try it out for our 1st anniversary and we are so glad we did! The bed was comfortable. The room was very clean. Loved the cozy décor, and of course the ducks were fun to watch. The rocking chairs on the front porch were nice and we were VERY thankful someone thought to put wasp spray out there because it became useful at one point:) This sounds crazy, but I was impressed with the tissues and toilet paper! Not your average low quality, hotel like products, they were very nice and so was the lovely hand soap, totally made you feel at home. Overall, GREAT stay...couldn't have wished for a better 1st year anniversary!

Very secluded but minutes from downtown. Loved the land even saw some ducks with Mohawks lol.

Small cabin was perfect to get away from the real world. The stream was tranquil and the ducks left us with never a dull moment. We had a meal catered by My Own Chef and it was the best meal we had the whole trip. Location of the cabins is super easy to find and get around the city and wineries. I couldn't believe how close to the road we were but yet felt we were all the way into the country :) we definitely won't wait another 15 years before we come back!

I thought it was a great retreat from the big city. We plan on coming back when the weather is cold, so we can use the fire place. The only suggestion I would have is to increase the pesticide spraying. My wife wasn't too fond of some of our six and eight legged visitors. I'd suggest spraying a nice spray of Demon around the perimeter on a routine basis.
Dear guest from the big City, thank you very much for you email. I fully understand your wife's concern about the six legged friends. We are in the Hill Country and we do in fact spray every month but this is the Hill country and we can not guarantee that none of Good's creatures are showing up. I hope you understand and we look forward seeing you again, Daniel, owner

My family and I absolutely loved our stay at our little log cabin! It was like going back in time! Very relaxing, and I wish we would've stayed longer! The only changes that I would like to see, is me coming back by myself! Thank you!

Old coffee grounds and filter were still in the coffee pot. This was the ONLY negative. The entire facility and cabin were awesome!!
Thank you very much for giving us your feedback and we are very happy that you judged us as "awesome". And we are certainly extremely sorry that we missed the coffe pot. Your feedback helps us to give our very best every day to prepare our cabins. We hope to see you again in the near future. Daniel, owner

We stayed 3 nights (July 23-25) at Barons CreekSide "Lucerne". This is a beautiful and very well taken care of cabin. Even though there are several other cabins nearby, you feel as if you are the only one around. We will definitely return.

Wonderful setting, extremely relaxing, very clean and refreshing. Enjoyed the creek. The decor was very soothing and comfortable. Sat on the porch and enjoyed the fresh rain while appreciating a bottle of wine from one the many local wineries. Barons Creekside was the highlight to our trip to Frederickburg.

We stayed at the Swiss Log Cabin for our honeymoon, it was amazing! The atmosphere makes you feel like you are in the country, but you are actually one minute from downtown. We really enjoyed sitting out on the porch and listing to the stream flow over the rocks. I would recommend Barron's Creekside to anyone I know.

We had a very nice time. The cabins are nicely decorated and have lots of useful items included. My only complaint is that the bed was not very comfortable to sleep on. Dining is a 3 because there is no dining.. but we knew and expected it. Tea and coffee is the only thing provided. (Though the room does have plates and utensils and glasses,etc... even a knife and cutting board.)

We celebrated my 50th birthday at Barons CreekSide and had the best time ever! It's such a romantic, quaint, and quiet place that far exceeded our expectations. We stayed in the Zermatt cottage and enjoyed every detail of the home as well as the beautiful property. The ducks gave us a big welcome upon our arrival and there were plenty of butterflies, trees, wild flowers, and the creek which made for great birthday photos! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and can't wait to revisit!

The décor and setting of the cottages was excellent. The location was also very convenient to visit Fredericksburg. We did enjoy our 1 night stay and we were greeted by the owner. The only issue we had was that we assumed the breakfast was included. We were ok with no breakfast and I was ok with cooking breakfast but there was no stove or cooking utensils. If they want to be classified as a B&B then one option would be to give the customer a voucher to say eat at the German Bakery in town. The last issue was that we were charged a $15.00 processing fee when we booked on their web site. I didn't expect the charge and didn't expect to get a reply from some other web site.
Dear Guest, thank you very much for your feedback and we are very happy that you judged the décor and setting as excellent. We are in fact not a traditional B&B where you rent a room in a house with others. Barons CreekSide is a little village where every guest has his own cabin or house on 26 acres. We therefore have half of our cabins equipped with a coffeemaker, MV, toaster oven, fridge, all utensils and a BBQ grill. Half of our cabins have a full kitchen. We do stock complimentary coffee and juice in all cabins. Our website precisely describes what every cabin features and we no where describe ourselves as a B&B. I wished you would have chosen one that has a full kitchen as this is a priority for you. In regards to the $ 15 credit card processing fee, we do communicate that before you submit the reservation and our guest get the reply/confirmation not from another website but from our reservations office. Please understand that we want to be transparent and credit card companies do take 2.5 - 4 % of the room charge which we decided to rather make it a flat $ 15/ booking. Thanks again for having been our guest and I hope I could clarify some. yours Daniel

We definitely lucked out!! Having been new to Texas, when we wanted to get away from the hustle & bustle of life for a nice romantic escape we decided to go to the much talked about Texas Hill Country. Neighbors recommended staying at Baron's Creekside and we are so glad we took their advice. Daniel (the owner) and his staff were awesome. We felt so welcome and at home. They did not overlook any detail in the cabin and the property was just beautiful. The charm of the cabin took our breath away. So glad we did not choose just to stay at a hotel. We can't wait to return to this Hill County jewel!!
5 on June 04, 2014
The property and cabin were just perfect. There are many cabins on the property, but while you are relaxing on the porch of your cabin, you can not see or hear anyone else on the property. Daniel has a real eye for the landscaping and sight lines of the property and can tell he really took his time in sculpting this serene getaway. During our stay I had the chance to ask Daniel how he visioned each of the cabins before their (re)construction. If you get a chance I suggest you ask him the same and you can see his passion. We will defiantly be returning to this paradise and would recommend to any an all.

A large group of us have stayed here for the last 3 years as part of the Hill County Rally. The property is lovely. Daniel is wonderful and we've gotten to know him over the year. He's like one of the gang now. It's quaint, rustic and secluded. These are some of the things we long. We have noticed a few things. One the beds are pretty uncomfortable. Ours was actually pretty bad. The property is maintained well, but does need some maintenance. Simple things like towel racks falling off, drawers that won't close, doors hard to close. None of these things are major, but I assume given the attention to detail taken designing the property perhaps the little day to day maintenance may have been overlooked. The biggest thing we dislike are the beds. Maybe a bed upgrade is in order??? Can't stress that more!!! Hot tubs have been added to a couple more of the cabins. I think that would be a wonderful thing for the smaller cabins; Interlaken, Baron's Log Cabins, etc where you typically only have a couple. That would be an added plus for smaller areas. All in all we love it and recommend the property to our friends when they travel to Fredericksburg.
4.4 on May 14, 2014
My wife and I LOVE Baron's Creekside. We've stayed at the property every spring since we were married, and on our most recent stay we brought my wife's parents who'd never experienced the Texas Hill Country. Fredericksburg is a marvel, but Baron's Creekside is at least half the experience. It's a home away from home, and we look forward to unwinding there in a cabin by the creek many years more! The Swiss log cabins are romantic for individual couples, and the accommodations (hot tub, hello?!) and kitchen at the Mesquite Farmhouse make it perfect for a family getaway.

Barons CreekSIde was a lovely place to stay. It had an "out in the country" feel - very private and quiet - yet was in very close proximity to Fredericksburg. It was spacious and roomy. We all enjoyed it very much. The only problem, as mentioned above, was that we were not aware that they did not serve breakfast - all they provided was coffee, juice and tea. If I had known that ahead of time, I would have made arrangements to provide breakfast.

We will be back again, Lord willing!

My husband and I came to Barons Creekside for our 5 year wedding Anniversary, and a little time way from the fast pace of work and kids. We got exactly what we were looking for at Barons Creekside. The cabin was very quaint and had everything we needed. The first night we stayed there we had My Own Chef Holy cook us a very Romantic dinner for two in our cabin. It was delicious! We even had a lovely fire going in the fireplace with the firewood provided. It was very romantic and cozy feeling. The owner Daniele even came to our cabin to say hello and introduce himself. In the morning we woke to Ducks swimming in the creek in front of our cabin. It was so peaceful to sit on the porch, drink coffee, and listen to nature. That afternoon we walked around on the nature trail, and explored the beautiful property. Everything was perfect, and we would definitely recommend Barons Creekside to friends looking for a getaway.

The only suggestions that would have improved on perfection would be a more comfortable, roomier couch, having firewood stacked at our cabin so we wouldn't have to go get it or provide us a cart to carry it in and maybe provide an electric skillet and or charcoal because we needed to buy our own. Other than those little suggestions, our cabin had the best of everything...Top quality linens and thick plush towels...flatware that was heavy...dishes that all matched...they thought of every little detail! It was perfect!

We really loved this place and wished we could have stayed longer. This is not a typical B&B, and the website clearly states that they do not provide breakfast; however, if you want to set up a romantic dinner for two, that can be arranged. It was so nice and the cabin we stayed in, "The Lucerne" was rustic yet comfortable. We plan to make another reservation for a cabin very soon. You will not regret staying here. Our only regret is not staying more than one night;) BTW, we met the owner, Mr. Meyer, and he was very gracious and kind. To greet us almost as soon as we got settled that first day speaks volumes. Thank you Mr. Meyer for your lovely accommodations. Also, I wanted to speak about the staff at 1st Class Reservations, who handled the reservation and key pickup. They were super nice and humorous. I really liked dealing with them and was pleasantly surprised. We had a similar arrangement a few years back (Different company, of course) and had rented a house in Port Aransas. The people we dealt with to pick up the keys and instructions were very rude and cold, so I was very pleased with this aspect of the arrangements for Barons Creekside via 1st Class Reservations. All around you can't beat the friendly atmosphere from everyone involved. Heather Collins Abilene, TX

We stayed in the Hiltop Sunset cabin and it was awesome. Hot tub under the stars. A big clean room with a seperate living area so we could spread out and relax. Next time we will take advantage of the kitchen. Barons is close to the many restaurants in Fredricksburg, but staying in and enoying dinner out on the deck would be a really nice way to spend an evening. BUT, taking all of this into consideration - my favorite part is the drive in to the property. It's immaculate and well cared for. There are cabins spread out just far enough away from each other and there is a water feature that feeds a tiny creek that runs through the property and everything looks like it's a whimsical fantasy land. Like driving through a giant miniature golf course! We loved the place and we will be back.

Since this was not really a motel, hotel or even B&B hard to rate with same criteria. So, will explain with my comments....and don't read too much into the "stars" in the ratings. If you are looking for luxury and room service, keep looking. If you want atmosphere, good location, and something different than a motel or even a B&B, this is the place. Great cabins with windows, doors even some of the wood brought over from Switzerland by the owner to create the atmosphere of a Swiss Village inside and out. He is quite the genius! Our cabin was rustic but had all we needed. Clean, refrigerator, microwave, decent bed, coffee maker, toaster and add the wonderful fireplace and two person hot tub and we were completely at home. On top of that, the atmosphere of feeling as if you were in a Swiss village was so soothing. We were there in January during an unusual cold spell, so made good use of the fireplace (wood available for purchase). The rest of the year, sitting on a rocker on cabin porch or hiking around the area has to be great. We will be back to try it out in warmer weather.

We wanted a quiet couple of kid free days to start our vacation. This was the perfect quaint getaway. The owner upgraded us right away. When we got there, I was impressed on how the property looks so rustic even though downtown is just a few minutes away! The cabin itself was amazing! Very rustic and the owner really puts a touch of his heritage into the property. The days we stayed were very cold so the fireplace was an excellent touch and kept us warm. Everything you could ask for was on this property. Just stock up on a few groceries and you're set for a fabulous retreat! Loved it!!
3.6 on February 08, 2014
The best part about staying at Barons CreekSide is the ambiance created by Daniel Meyer and his crew! Every detail of the Swiss village theme was well-planned and provided the much-needed escape from the concrete environment of big city life. The popular log cabins with their massive fireplaces were all taken by the time we made our reservation, but the Sunset cabin was spacious and comfortable all the same. We will be back!

Stayed for a couple days over our first anniversary. It would have been nice to have a stovetop to cook breakfast in the morning. Otherwise it was a good oasis just a couple minutes from downtown and the wineries.
Dear guests, thank you very much for your review of our "good oasis". As a suggestion: More than half of our cabins do in fact have full kitchens, so for your next stay it might be great you book one of them. Also, all cabins do also have a BBQ grill outside (for the warmer evenings :)). yours Daniel

My wife and I came to Barons as a weekend get away and absolutely loved the place! Everything was amazing about the cabin and the setting. Sitting by the fire and eating an amazing meal and relaxing was the best. Barons is close enough to Fredricksburg to be close to good dining and shopping if that is your plan, but secluded enough to be the perfect get away.

The view of the creek was spectacular and each morning we got to hang out with the local flock of ducks. The cabin has every amenity one might need and makes one feel welcome and at home.

We loved our time at Barons Creekside! The cabin was cute, cozy and comfy and we loved waling around the grounds. Don't miss the Nature Trail. All of the people there were warm and helpful and we really enjoyed getting to know Daniel. This is a special place and we'll definitely be back!

What an incredible place. So peaceful; we loved listening to the creek sitting by the fire pit making smores! The ducks came to visit each day too. We would highly recommend this place to any who wants to visit Fredericksburg. It's just off main street so easy access to all of the wonderful shopping and restaurants. You can even have a romantic meal catered to you here. Daniel, the owner, is very sweet and has made this a true gem of a place to stay. We stayed 3 days and I was very sad to leave!!

This was our 2nd stay. Very charming & quaint, but all the new cabins being constructed have detracted from its appeal. Its beginning to feel more like an RV park than a Swiss lodge. We enjoyed our stay & had a great time. Very convenient to downtown. We requested extra firewood & they delivered a whole trailer load, nice.
Dear guest, thank you very much for your review and we are very happy that you had a great time and were pleased with the firewood delivery. In regard to the added cabins: My vision was to have a "little Swiss village" feel and with 10 cabins along the creek on 26 acres, I am excited to see that is has become exactly that. The privacy on one hand and occasionally having a chat with some other guests when one feels like it. European oldtown flair. We hope to see you again here and as a past guest you know that some of the cabins are so by itself that you most likely will never see anyone. yours Daniel

The Cabin my Girlfriend and I stayed at for 3 days was outstanding as well as the entire Barons Creekside experience. Truly a Romantic getaway as stated. Such quint features throughout the Cabin with a nice Jacuzzi to boot. Well thought out design in both the Cabin and the Grounds. The hospitality was great as well. Good time had by all and a Treat worth revisiting.

Loved the website pics for Barons Creekside so had to check it out. Took last cabin available on short notice "Sunrise". Sunrise is actually the east half of the Hilltop Chalet. We skipped a traditional B&B for the charm and uniqueness of Daniel's Swiss layout. The cabin was very clean and well appointed for our 2 night stay. The rooms were comfortable and spacious. Only downside was the walls turned out to be quite thin once the adjoining neighbors showed up... The location is very convenient and the physical charm of the property are quite impressive. Kudos to what Daniel has accomplished in a short time!

we were looking for a weekend getaway and this place looked nice. but when we got there we realized it was above and beyond what we thought it would be. the staff was nice and friendly, the surroundings were gorgeous, the cabin was unbelievable. we had been there 10 minutes when we decided to definitely come back again. so worth it.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barons Creekside. The B&B was close to town and had a lot of great features to offer. We enjoyed the fire pit and the amenities.

Awesome fireplace & bathtub. minutes from downtown.
5 on January 08, 2014
I've stayed at quite a few B&B's in the past. None had every detail covered like Baron's at Creekside. The cabin was spotless. The attention to detail on the cabin and the whole premises was amazing. I was a little hesitant paying the Christmas week rate, but in hindsight I must say it was worth every penny. Of all the places I've staying in Fredericksburg, I must say this is THE one. I will be back soon.
4.6 on January 07, 2014
This place is beautiful. Daniel stopped by to check in, which was incredibly nice. Working the bathtub took some practice but it was all very very nice. A great place to go to get away, be at peace, and chill.

We enjoyed our stay in the Mesquite Farmhouse. It was a nice size (but not as quaint as the Swiss houses) and there was plenty of room for our family to spread out. The fold out couch bed was not very comfortable, but it sufficed. There is no "breakfast", but that is stated on the website. You cannot walk into town from this property, but it is a short drive into the main part of town. It's a pretty property and you can see the stars out on a clear night. We didn't use the hot tub because it was really cold while we were there!
5 on January 04, 2014
From the moment I walked in my cabin till the time I checked out, everything was perfect! We were beautifully recieved by the owner with a lovely get together on the first night and found out about all the great local spots. This type of interaction is what makes me seek out B&Bs rather than hotels and believe me, you can't go wrong with this one!!!

This was our second visit to Barons Creekside. Our first stay was for our honeymoon in December 2012. We came back for our Honeymoon Reunion...our stay did not disappoint one tiny bit. Even though we picked a smaller cabin, we actually loved it even more. We will definitely be back in 2014! Daniel takes care of all the details and makes every cabin special. We unfortunately didn't get to see Daniel this visit but felt his presence :) Best holiday getaway EVER! Harrie & Christine Schoots-League City, Texas

Me and My boyfriend stayed two days and fell in love with this beautiful secluded escape as well as with eachother. It was the best mini-vacation of our lives and just what we needed to get away from the busy and noisy city-life. Very private, imaculately clean, adorably decorated, cozy, pet-friendly, lush landscape and absolutely amazing value for the price. It was perfect and we were provided all the necessities. It was minutes away from great restaurants, fun filled shopping and the best wineries that Texas has to offer. I would recommend you stop here and look no further. We are already coordinating our next trip. May you all enjoy your future stays here!

My fiancé and I spent four days here, beginning on Christmas Day. We absolutely had the time of our lives. From the construction to the decor, this place has so much charm and mystique. We had a blast in Fredericksburg as well, with some of our favorite places being:(wine) Mendelbaum Cellars for their Holy Land Wine and Olive Oil, Becker Winery, (shopping) Scarletts, the Organic Bath Store, House. Wine., Vaudeville and eateries:The Old German Bakery (outrageous Huevos Rancheros and German Pankcakes!), The Bistro at Vaudeville (divine lunch specials), The Herb Farm Restaurant (AMAZING) and even the Frankenstein Pizza at the Fredericksburg Brewing Company tasted like gourmet food!. We definitely enjoyed our time spent in Fredericksburg and at Barons Creekside in the Rhine Fall cabin. The ducks would greet us each morning while we sat out on one of our two porches having coffee. Even though there were other cabins nearby, we felt like we were the only ones there. We loved it and will stay there again!

Did you know there's a "Garden of Eden" in Texas? If you have never been to the Texas Hill Country, your missing one of the most scenic areas of Texas. And nestled a mere stroll from downtown Fredericksburg is the truly unexpected. Barons CreekSide will leave you wanting more. Each Chalet is lovingly crafted with authentic detail and uniqueness. Our first stay, will be the first of many. Thanks for the experience and the memories. To be continued........

This place is awesome. We will definitely return. It is so quiet and peaceful we felt as if we were on a deserted island, yet everything is close. We loved the Mallards, which turned out to be 14 hungry time clocks. This was the absolute best place to have a honeymoon. We have been inspired to live a simpler life without all the clutter, and to spend more time, money, and energy having fun with each other.
5 on December 26, 2013
My wife and I stay at Baron's Creekside at least once every year, and we love what Daniel has constructed in this quiet little corner of Fredericksburg. Daniel is a gracious host; we were tremendously disappointed that we didn't get to visit with him this time. Hopefully next year. Our favorite is the Baron's Log Cabin but primarily since that's the first one we ever stayed in. The others are very nice, too. We also love the fact that Baron's seems to be in the country, but it's SO close to downtown. Really perfect. We'll be back, no doubt.

Only stay here if you want to build a lasting memory with your loved one. Was only going to stay here for one night but they had a two night minimum...and so glad they did. One night is not enough to fully appreciate your own private getaway.
5 on December 09, 2013
We had a great stay at Baron's. Everything went very smooth. And when we arrived at the room it was nicer than we expected. We were expecting a very nice place but until you see it, it does not sink in just how well this place is put together. It will be easy to choose where to stay next time.
3.2 on December 08, 2013
Would have been nice to have breakfast included as it is advertised as a bed and breakfast , however , everything else was great! I would return and recommend anyone to check this place out!
Dear guest, thank you very much for your feedback. We are indeed not a traditional B&B and do not advertise anywhere as being one. We are a cabin resort where every cabin has its own very well equipped kitchenette or full kitchen and we stock complimentary coffee, tea and juice. Sincerely yours , Daniel

Daniel has created a great environment to easily enjoy all that the Hill Country has to offer. His cabins and grounds are top notch.

This place by far is the best place to stay in ALL of TEXAS!!! My husband surprised me with a 5 night stay for our 25th wedding anniversary!! With the owner Daniel's help my husband also surprised me with the renewal of our vows. My kids and grandson also showed up to surprise me. I could have never imagined a more romantic setting!!! We LOVED the Wasserfall log cabin and the wonderful sound of the waterfall next to us. The morning visit from the family of ducks was so cute!!! I can guarantee we WILL be back. Every couple should take the time to visit this amazing place and enjoy the romantic atmosphere and the stress free environment. You feel as if you are in an entirely remote Swiss village yet you are only 2 minutes from Main Street in Fredericksburg. Daniel my friend you and your staff have totally out done yourself with the beautiful craftsmanship of each cabin as well as the amazing creek and beautiful landscaping!!! Can't wait to return and I hope we have more time to sit and visit. Thank you so much for bringing your creativity and sharing it with us. Hope to see you soon!!! Cody and Kim Soares. Great get away cabin! It was very relaxing. Even though there were plenty of others staying on the property, we were not disturbed at all. Just far enough from town to not hear all the traffic either. Daniel came to see us as we were leaving to introduce himself and to make sure everything went well. He was very pleasant to talk to.

We stayed at Baron's Cabin for a 3-nte stay. My husband and I enjoyed this stay so much, Everything was great! The cabin was authentic and decorated just right. The grounds were a real compliment to the cabins. Water adds a lot of ambiance from the creek I can't wait until we can stay there again.

Me and my husband went to Baron's for our one year anniversary and babymoon. The place was just perfect. It was cozy, romantic and beautiful. All the details made us feel like we were in Switz. We fed the ducks, started a fire and roasted marshmallows. Our friends recommended it to us and said they cannot wait to go back and that is exactly how we feel. It was just what we needed. Thank you Daniel!

Baron's Creekside is by far the best value for your money. The accomodations have the feel of country B&B, without the annoyance of having to see people. We were greeted by the local groundskeeper(Joey-I think), who was super-nice! My wife & I stayed in the Mesquite Farmhouse for our Anniversary, and enjoyed it. Location to town is pretty close, as well as location to local vineyards. The only downside was how long it took to get our hot tub warmed up(2 Days).
4.6 on November 11, 2013
We enjoyed Barons creekside so much it was close to town and the wineries. We would definitely stay here again. I had tons of help throughout planning our stay and we also enjoyed the dinner accommodation they suggest through my own chef that also was an amazing experience. We really enjoyed it my only complaint is we wish we were there longer!

For our honeymoon, my husband and I stayed at Barons Creekside in the Interlaken Swiss Log Cabin. What an amazing experience. The cabin is beautiful as was the view of the creek and neighboring cabins. We had all the luxuries of a hotel with the feel of beingone with nature. It was very romantic.

We stayed in the Swiss Cabin - Lucerne at Baron's Creekside. The property and cabin exceeded our expectations. We needed a peaceful getaway and we got exactly that.....serene views, cascading water sounds and a cabin so nostalgicly appointed that it hugs you like a comfy blanket. If you want to shop and dine on Main Street, it is only a couple minutes away. We shopped one day, but our minds were on getting back to the serenity of our cabin and it's surroundings. We would like to thank Daniel and his staff for making our stay both relaxing and rejuvenating! We will definitely be back soon.! The Merrimans. , Fort Worth, Texas

3.8 on October 31, 2013
Loved the cabin, very private and peaceful! This is a great place to unwind. The only reason I gave one star for dining is because this is not your typical B&B, it is a cabin with a small kitchen. Will definitely be staying again!
4.6 on October 30, 2013
This place is at least as pretty and cozy as shown in the pictures. The linens and beds are comfortable, cute kitchen (only 1 frying pan though) and very charming decorations. A do-over for sure!

Coming from a place called " A Travelers' Paradise' , I was delighted to find that Baron's Creekside lives up to the hype. The hype was provided by my son and daughter-in-law who call it their special place. I would compliment the location, quietness, warmth, authenticity and access to Nature. Comfort by the fireplace with an excellent cup of coffee is a lovely memory. The hospitality was exemplified by the owner Daniel Meyer's visit on our second day.next time I'm staying longer.

One of the most beautiful and serene places I've been to. It's charming, relaxing and most of all romantic. Every cabin has its own little magic. The amount of detail that goes into the architecture makes you feel you're in Switzerland. The property is amazing. It's everything you want and need when being in the country but still 2 minutes away from Downtown Fredericksburg. The entire ambiance makes you feel you're in an enchanted village. Daniel is a wonderful host; he's always willing to make your stay as perfect as possible. I can't wait to go back!
5 on October 25, 2013
I had a delightful time at Baron's Creekside Swiss cottage, "Wasserfall" and plan to visit again soon...hopefully for Christmas. The cottage was in the perfect location, near the waterfall that could be seen and heard from the front porch, which has 2 comfortable, over-sized wooden rocking chairs and the perfect height rail on which to rest your tired legs and feet and/or your snack and drink. Daniel has thought of every restful situation a person might wish to have! The decor was beautiful, old fashioned; bedspread was a quilt with Wedding Ring design. It was the perfect temperature for walking along the stream, feeding the ducks, but I'd like to be there when the River Rock fireplace could be utilized. Thank you, Daniel, for building such a memorable place for those of us who seek quiet getaways! Linda in Houston

My husband and I spent two nights here as part of our honeymoon. These cabins are gorgeous. The amount of work Daniel has put into Barons CreekSide is evident from the moment you see those first two blue and red cows. If you're searching for a destination with character and uniqueness you will not be disappointed. Please, please, please do not pass on the My Own Chef option. Vickie and her husband prepare a phenomenal meal. Don't skip out on it. :)

Our first trip to Barons Creek Side was exceptional. Upon arrival at the cabin, we were met by the owner who was genuinely welcoming and friendly. A short drive to downtown Fredericksburg made Barons a great place to stay. We will not hesitate to stay there again, the next time we visit the Texas Hill Country.

Daniel is very friendly, professional, and pleasant to work with. When I notified him of a maintenance request he promptly and courteously addressed it. He personally stopped in to say hello the night of our romantic dinner. My wife was raving about the delicious dinner the entire week. The cabin is romantic and perfectly situated close enough to main street while still private. The rooms are decorated nicely, and give the feel of a cozy upscale cabin in the woods. The only recommendation I can make would be to have the fabric on the couch in the living room professionally cleaned or replaced; the fabric is light colored and stains are visible. Overall, the value was very good. We will be back.

We had such an incredible time, we can't wait to go back! It's like Napa Valley in Texas with all the wineries. Barons Creekside was right up our alley. Every single detail inside and out was spectacular! The Texas Country music selection inside cabin awaiting us, next to cd player, was such a nice touch. Did not want to leave!!!!

I stayed in the Sunrise cabin and in one of the swiss cabins (starts with a Z). The Sunrise cabin wasn't bad -- very spacious and clean. The Swiss cabin was amazing. Very clean, very romantic, and extremely comfortable. The entire property is excellent; I would highly recommend a stay there if you don't want to stay in a hotel or just want something refreshing, quiet, romantic, and unordinary. The property and the Swiss cabins are a great place for spending time with your significant other. Booking service/key pickup was fast and the personnel very helpful.

Another ordinary business trip for me in/out of Fredericksburg-I thought. Decided to try Baron's Creek, same price as other hotels & B&B's, convenient location, and spa/restaurant on premises. After a very long day, I arrived at my cabin, entering a completely different world. From my front porch surrounded by mature oak trees I could hear the light sound of running water. I turned, and to my surprise I saw a sparkling stream with ducks swimming in it. Inside the cabin was a king size bed, comfortable leather furniture, a complete kitchenette, and a Jacuzzi! I had dinner served on my front porch that evening. Incredible! The stress of the last year melted away. Baron's Creek is not ordinary. Baron's Creek is a treasure. It's what vacation or a get-a-way 'used' to be...a refreshing and rejuvenating break from your life.

What an awesome find!! I could not have dreampt up a more perfect place to regroup with my husband after the whirlwind of a summer we have experienced this year. There were many little touches within the cabin and throughout the property that made this place great. Usually our trips away consist of a heavy load of things to do but as soon as we stepped foot on our cabin steps we knew that this was where we would spend the majority of the next few days. We stayed in "Interlaken", which was specifically meaningful to me, as my grandparents grew up there before coming to America. I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a clean, spacious, romantic and peaceful getaway from the daily rat race we call life.

We had a nice stay in the Rhine Falls cabin. The cabin was cozy and relaxing. The proximity to downtown Fredricksburg made it easy to enjoy all that the city had to offer. Only downside was there were cobwebs in the cabinets and a few (dead) bugs. Also, the fireplace allowed smoke in the cabin even with the flue wide open. I'll rate the cleanliness higher if that's taken care of next time we visit. I would still recommend and definitely plan on returning!
Dear Guest, thank you very much for taking the time for your review and we are very happy that you had a great time here. We do our outmost to catch every cobweb or possible bug and I am sorry if we were not 100% that time, As for the fireplace: You were here in the heat of the summer and might not have been aware, that it is impossible to have a fireplace going with outside temperature over 80 F and when the air condition is turned on it sucks all smoke directly in the cabin. Please visit us in cooler weather and you will see our fire[laces working superb. Thanks again! Daniel

This was a great overnight stay for us. We had our two teenage daughters and stayed at the Grindelwald cabin. Perfect for our family. It was nice to sit in the rocking chairs on the porch in the evening and watch the sun set while listening to the water in the creek. The cabin was decorated with vintage items yet had contemporary amenities. Best sleep on our entire trip. We were two minutes from town. Would HIGHLY recommend to anyone wanting to be near town, but away from noise and traffic. What a great choice over a standard hotel! We will return and bring friends as well!!

An intriguing look back to childhood thoughts (now our 50th WA), we pleasured the sound of the waterfall, while seeing the Milky Way for the first time in years. The heat of the days gave way to the cooler night breezes which deliciously swayed the porch rockers. In town the Nimitz Museum gave us renewed appreciation for the sacrifices of the generation who raised us...Thanks, Daniel.

What a quirky little gem this place is! My wife was a little dubious as we drove up, but she came around once the shabby-chic nature of this place sunk it. It's pretty romantic and memorable. The whole zero contact with any humans in the transaction, including check-in thing, was little odd. But that's how things are done here, so it's fine. We'd go back. It's clean, quiet and has volumes of character. One drawback was the wasp nest that appeared to be developing in the rafters of the cabin--made us a little uneasy. I guess that's why they have a wasp killer spray on hand int he window sill. ...and that's why we love Texas. BTW, I gave an "unsatisfactory" on dining because there is none and this site doesn't use N/A as a choice.

Absolutely wonderful place, we enjoyed ourselves so much, the most relaxing place we have been to so far. Highly recommended if you just want to decompress and have quiet moments with each other.

Great restuarants in fredricksburg! Had a great time going to many close by wineries! Loved our cabin! The chef prepared dinner served in our cabin was excellent!

My wife and I stayed in the swiss cabins Lucerne. The setting was perfect. The cabin was amazing and extremely romantic. The location was great also because it is close to downtown. We will definately be back!! Already planning our anniversary trip.

Beautiful setting and relaxing. We requested extra soap and it was never provided. Dining was not available.
2.8 on August 12, 2013
The cabins are nice and unique. The location is good, very close to the main street for shopping/dining. I would stay here again, but I have to admit it was a little disappointing for the price. When I pay $200/night for a room, whether it's in a hotel or in lodging like this, I expect something a little extra or a "wow" factor. While there wasn't anything wrong with the stay (except that there was no bath soap and the coffee maker was very dirty), there certainly wasn't anything great about it either. If you're okay spending $200 or more a night for an average cabin that's a close drive to everything, then you won't be disappointed. Just don't have high expectations for anything more. Also, be prepared for a mysterious "processing" fee to be added on top of the advertised rate and taxes. Mine was $15 (not sure if it varies depending on room type) and I was never given an explanation for what I was paying. I asked in an email that was never answered. Under normal circumstances, I would have canceled my reservation in a situation like that, but I didn't have time to find another place in this case. Unfortunately, this occurrence was somewhat representative of my overall experience...annoying and unsatisfying, but not enough to be totally disappointing.

Barons Creekside is simply an amazing getaway. Far enough to relax and close enough to enjoy the town. We will definitely be back. Thank you Daniel, for creating this amazing place.

Wonderful place to have a relaxing time. The proximity to downtown Fredericksburg while still being quiet was perfect.

We stayed in the Geneva Cabin at Barons the weekend of 8/3 - 8/4 for an anniversary getaway. I was told about the property by some friends who had previously stayed there and it came highly recommended, Well the recomendation we received was spot-on! The property was all we could have asked for and more. Very nice! The only drawback was that now my wife wants to build a similar cabin on our property! I would highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to visit the Fredricksburg area, and we will definately be back!

I rented a cabin at the place which was an amazing experience. The cabin is filled with rustic furniture and equipment that induces the old fashion style. The room was very nice. I loved the design and atmosphere of the location and can't wait for it to get colder and go back The creek adds a relaxing feeling and I recommend it if you want to have a romantic time or just want to be in a secluded oil style place. There is no dining place on the location and I just gave it 3 stars to be able to post my comment

We stayed in the Hilltop Chalet Sunrise. It was a nice, private cabin with a kitchen, fridge, and porch, decorated cozy country... it was done beautifully. My husband and I really liked the cabin. The bed was comfortable, maybe a little too soft, and the sheets were very soft. Everything was clean except for the tile floors of the living area and kitchen, which had been swept but not mopped (they were sticky and our white socks were black). Still, I would recommend this place to family and friends... it really was a romantic getaway. The place was just as pictured. There is nowhere to dine on the property but Main Street is just a couple minutes away. Coffee with sugar and powdered creamer, and orange juice were provided.

The perfect vacation. I loved the cabin. So relaxing. It was exactlywhat I needed. They have gone to great lengths to provide the look and feel of old cabins, but with luxury of great bedding, air and bath spa. The creek was so peaceful. We are already booked to go back in fall. Didn't rate dining as they did not apply to this resort. Dining in area was a 4. Highly recommend for a couples get away.

The Morgarten cabin was excellent! It had everything we needed and was very well kept...probably because it's the newest! The Barons grounds are pretty cool, with the creek and outdoor fire pit. Very quiet at the cabin, except for the natural sounds of crickets and ducks outdoors. Will definitely be back!

We got to spend some alone time and can't think of a better place to do it. The room was clean and nicely furnished and quite which is something we enjoyed. We recommend it especially for couples who want to spend time reconnecting with their spouses or time without the kids. We didn't have any interruptions except for the local cats who came by to say hello. We will definitely return. The Baileys

If you are looking for peace and quiet in delightful country surroundings with rustic artistic comfort this is it. All that is good and refreshing about Texas. BC does not offer dining but has at least a kitchenette with microwave, toaster and coffee brewer, utensils and a small fridge. Adequate for snacking and continental breakfast or chilling a beer or bottle or wine to enjoy the sunset.

We wanted a simple place to stay in order to get married and enjoy our honeymoon and that's what we got. Everything was wonderful. The only thing we wished for that we didn't get was rain to hear the sound inside the cabin. We will come back one day.

My husband and I spent our 11th wedding anniversary at Barons Creekside in the Lucerne cabin, and we absolutely loved our stay. The cabin was beautiufl, romantic, peaceful, and clean. I highly recommend staying here!

We stayed there for our 1st Anniversary, 4 nights, July 3 thru July 7th. We had a great time. The atmosphere was awesome. It was quiet and private. Staff was great. Only problem we had was "wasps" getting inside the cabin. They didn't come through the door. They came in elsewhere in the cabin. We had that happen 4 times while we were there, additionally, it was difficult to enjoy the porch because they were always flying around the porch area. Other than that our stay was great.

We stayed in one of the Swiss log cabins (Morgarten) and it was a romantic retreat. Being able to sit on the porch and listen to the water flow over the rocks was a peaceful way to start the day. The attention to detail and overall design of the cabin is impressive, including a hot tub shower. Barron's creekside is about a mile from downtown shopping in Fredericksburg and about 10-15 miles from the wineries on hwy290. The lodging was perfect for our weekend getaway, and allowed us to enjoy each other at a slow and relaxing pace. A unique and memorable experience.

What a great getaway, very peaceful and enjoyable, The log Cabin was just right for my wife and I. We are in the process of building a new house and I told her that we should just build one of these, I would be very content. I would recommend this place to anyone by far!!!!

Charming, spacious and clean cabins. Enjoyed meeting with Captain, the dog; several ducks and two cats. Loved the quiet, country setting. Orange juice plus coffee or tea doesn't quite mean breakfast for me.

What a charming experience. My husband and I had a quick trip to Fredericksburg area and came across Barons Creekside while searching online. You feel as you are out in the middle of the country but are only blocks away from main street. A group of ducks greeted us at our door which was a very unique experience. I promise they must have saw our car and they came running. We stayed in wasserfall swiss cabin. It was a decorated with swiss items and the history behind the cabins are wonderful. We explored the creek and the overlook. We also got to know the family of cats that roam the property. The bed was comfortable and I slept very well after a relaxing bath in the jaccuzi tub. The only downside was that they do not provide breakfast and for the price, it would be appropriate to do so. However this one thing will not provent us from coming back once again.

My family & I stayed at Barons this past weekend for my grandmother's 90th brthday. There were around 25 total of us that stayed for 3 nights & we had such an amazing time! Barons is perfect for large family get togethers because each family had their own cabin, but since we rented the Lodge,we had a central gathering place to grill burgers, place games & relax together. It was a wonderful time & we will be coming back!

My husband and I loved this place. We immediately felt relaxed in the clean and quaint cabin we chose. The grounds are beautiful and it's easy to imagine you are in another place and time. I appreciate the love and care that went into creating Baron's Creekside and the effort of all who work hard to keep it so special. We will be back!

Barons at Creekside is amazing! We have never stayed at such a romantic, serene, perfected place in the woods! From the moment we arrived through our entire stay we found something to wow us! The owner Daniel is very personable and makes every attempt to greet and welcome you with a warm smile. The cabin was clean, very detailed, and comfy. We will definitely be staying again and we can't wait!

We absolutely love this place. So peaceful. We spent a much needed restful weekend. It is beautiful and rustic. Felt like we were out in the country (well in fact we were:) and yet we were minutes from town. Everyone we came into contact with provided excellent, warm and caring customer service. You don't get that everywhere anymore. We will most definitely go back.
4.4 on July 02, 2013
Beautiful setting and the cabin was very well maintained and clean. Very quiet and sitting on the porch and listening to the falls by the cabin was a plus. The location is basically in town but the porperty is set up so that it feels like you are out in the country. This is a plus because you get a country feel while being very close to shopping and great restaurants. Definitely recommend Barons CreekSide for a couples getaway.

We stayed here in Wasserfall one of the nights of our honeymoon. The cabin is beautiful. The photos do not do it justice. We loved the Old windows and that they still function and open. We loved the rockers on the porch and enjoyed the ducks coming by for a visit. Plenty of towels and an awesome bed too:) Only drawback which was minor was it is pretty close to other cabins. Even so we didnt see or hear very much from anyone else. The owner came by and introduced himself and was very pleasant and enjoyable. I would say go ahead and book 2 nights because if you dont you will want to add another night when you get here and wont be able to because that is exactly what we did. We will be back!

The Barons CreekSide Cabins are extremely unique. I stayed in one of the one-room Swiss cabins and it was everything I was hoping for. The cabin was clean and cozy, and provided everything we needed to enjoy our stay. My favorite part was the large jacuzzi tub provided for extra relaxation. The grounds are stunning. I didn't think it would actually look like it did in the pictures, but I was wrong. There is a lovely creek that most of the cabins look out over, and a small walking trail. The location of the cabins, minutes from downtown Fredericksburg and Enchanted Rock, is perfect. Overall, Barons is the loveliest place I've had the opportunity to stay at, and I will definitely be visiting again.

We enjoyed our stay at Barons Creekside in Fredericksburg, TX. If you're looking for a quite, relaxing, rustic get-away, this is the place. The cabins are nice and have plenty of space and the necessary amenities. I especially enjoyed taking my morning cup of coffee and sitting on the front porch of the cabin while listing to the running water in the creek and watching the family of ducks waddle across the lawn. After shopping in Fredericksburg all day (just minutes to downtown), it was great to come back to Creekside to refresh and relax. I wasn't crazy about the price and I doubt I would personally stay again, but I can recommend the place to you. Enjoy!

Barons Creekside was just the getaway that we needed. Very peaceful atmosphere. The property is very impressive and well kept. The cabin was very clean and cozy. We brought our own groceries to for dinner and breakfast. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals. Barons Creekside was the perfect place for us to celebrate our Anniversary! We will definitely be back very soon!! IMO the pictures don't do Barons Creeekside enough justice, it really is a very beautiful place that you have to see for yourself!

We spent a few days as a family prior to our daughter and son-in-law's departure to Singapore this month. They loved Barons CreekSide as they had no idea what to expect. It surpassed their expectations. For my and my husband it was our second visit to the creek and from now on it will be one of our favorite places to visit on an annual basis. The kids were even talking about establishing a family tradition by visiting the creek every year for a family reunion. Thank you to all. You do a fabulous job!

My husband and I are expecting a baby and needed to save money for our little peanut. Because of that we didn't have much money to spend on a honeymoon. Our stay in the cabin was so special for us and it was so very romantic. We couldn't have asked for a better place to celebrate the beginning of a new chapter in our lives.

My four sisters and I stayed in the Hilltop Chalet for two nights and we had a wonderful experience! The cabins were immaculate and even though there are multiple cabins on the property, it felt very private! We were provided with a charcoal grill outside and enjoyed cheeseburgers and hill country wine on the first night. After that we sat outside and watched the beautiful hill country sunset. We played games and laughed and never felt interrupted. The kitchens in both cabins were fully stocked. We bought our own groceries and all of the cooking supplies were found on hand. We did have to buy a pan for baking a birthday cake, but we wanted a travel pan anyway. Day number two we woke up and had coffee and a fabulous breakfast, sat outside on the porch again and enjoyed each other's company. A limo picked us up at noon for our wine tour and we were home by 6 to get ready for dinner. The cabins are conveniently located just 1/2 a mile from town, but it feels as if you are in the middle of nowhere! There are nature trails, swimming and fishing holes and the staff is extremely friendly! This quaint little hill country hideout is a must!

This place is a charming surprise, tucked away on some hilly acres at the end of a quiet residential street on the edge of town. Once on the grounds, you feel as though you're deep in the countryside. Our cabin was clean, well-appointed, furnished with comfortable beds, lovely antiques and re-purposed pieces. The creek runs clear and is home to a flock of ducks, who came by our cabin to visit often, along with the resident cat, a friendly little thing who seemed partial to ear rubs. You might see some deer now and then, and we were delighted to see that fireflies aren't extinct, they just live at Baron's Creekside. They put on a show for us every evening, as we relaxed on our deck. Even though dining is not a part of the package, this site required a rating for "Dining", so I gave it five stars. I'm not about to down-rate this lovely place over a technicality. Besides, the orange juice we found in the refrigerator was great! The owner is an energetic, friendly and accommodating man who is always accessible, as he zips around the property in a pickup or on a motor scooter. The price is a bit less than one would pay at a chain motel, and the atmosphere is so much more home-like and relaxing. I will definitely stay there again, and would recommend it to anyone.

Our only complaints are; the BBQ bottom tray was rusted out and there was a lot of noise during the day because of construction on the Morgarten cabin across the stream from us. I wish you would have informed us they would be remodeling before we booked our stay. However the Swiss cabin we stayed at (Interlaken) did indeed exceed our expectations and our privacy was respected (it was our 40th anniversary). We hope were invited back to stay again.
Dear Guest, thank you very much for your review. I am very happy that the Interlaken exceeded your expectation! I however want to apologize that you were disturbed by us working on the new cabin. It is now finished and looks awesome and I would like to offer you a complimentary night in it for your inconvenience. Please contact me at so we can arrange that. Daniel

There wasn't any dining on property so I only gave it a met my expectation. The location was lovely. Daniel was friendly and helpful. The kids had a blast fishing. The wedding was small and intimate -- just as I wanted it.

We enjoyed the rustic and unique lodgings. The surroundings were tranquil and relaxing. We were a few blocks from the hustle and bustle of downtown, yet felt we were in the middle of nowhere. My one 'complaint' is that the bathroom door was a stall-type door (open at the top and bottom). This might not matter to some people, but there is zero privacy when you use the restroom. Also, breakfast isn't included so plan on driving to a restaurant every morning.
Dear guest , thank you very much for your review. Since all our cabins have real full size doors to the bathroom, it might be that the "open" space above the door in your cabin -where we put glass insert for daylight- might have appeared as "open space"! Thanks again. Daniel

Our cabin keys with our receipt was left in a key box outside of the office on Main Street with my boyfriends name on it which we found either, a) a little sketchy or b) just really small-town trusting. We had an overall wonderful stay at the cabin, though. We wish that there had been a slightly larger toaster oven so we could really cook our bacon and other foods we purchased at the grocery store to warm up more efficiently. We toured the property first thing the next morning and it was just beautiful. We were unaware there would be a spot for us to fish/swim before we got there and read the Baron's Creekside guide book, so maybe that's something that can be advertised more? The jacuzzi tub was fabulous, and the bed was super comfortable. We loved how other-wordly our cabin was. I would definitely go back to stay and would recommend to others as well.
Dear guest, thanks a lot for your review. It put a big smile on my face in regards to the "small town trusting". That is exactly what Fredericksburg is about. I have never locked my car and leave the key inside ( so I never have to look for it)and I have never ever locked my own cabin on the property, I don't even have a lock :). That's why we so enjoy our little town. Come see us again. Daniel

This is the third time we have stayed at Baron's Creekside Cabins in 5 years. Each stay is better than the previous one! Love the secluded, peaceful setting of Daniel's property. Rooms (cabins) are just right for married couples. The bigger units can accommodate larger families also. Service is excellent! Any problems are corrected immediately. The area is kept very clean. Weekends prices are a little pricey but the weekday prices are very reasonable! All of the cabins have a kitchenette so you can eat there. We grilled twice during our 8 day stay. The other times we got into town. Plenty of good restaurants to chose from. We will definitely be going back again!

We reserved a night for my wife's birthday. The cabin experience was definitely better than getting a nice hotel room. The environment was lovely and calming. It was like out time to UNPLUG, and enjoy the time to ourselves. The calming waters of the Lucerne was peaceful, we took lots of photos on the property. The fireplace in the room can be used, and has a calming effect. Overall, the stay was awesome and outstanding, great place for a get away.

This was our second stay at Barons CreekSide and just like last time we had a wonderful stay. Even though you are minutes from downtown you feel like you are in the mountains somewhere. We stayed in a different cottage from last time and again loved it. It is so fun that each cottage is decorated differently. We were able to bring our 2 furry kids this time and they had a wonderful stay as well. Being beagles they absolutely loved being able to sniff around the grounds. It was so neat to see all the baby ducks. A must stay if you are going to Fredericksburg! You won't be disappointed.

Such a unique and wonderful property. Everything was perfect! We stayed in Grindelwald for 3 days and I believe it is the most privately located of the cabins. We spent the first day just taking in the details of the place. Daniel, the owner, is incredibly gifted in creativity and repurposing things for use in the cabin. The attention to detail is awesome. It was nice that he took the time to greet us by name upon arrival and left us to our privacy the remainder of the 3 days we spent there. I highly recommend this property when staying in Fredericksburg or surrounding areas.

Booked The Victorian, picked up the key at the office (off site). The place is lovely, the house is comfortable, beds comfortable, clean, quiet, and nice large porch we could sit out on and enjoy the surroundings. Not sure the Bed & Breakfast label unless you call the bottled orange juice in fridge breakfast but all in all, it was a very nice experience. Just don't go there thinking you will get a large cooked breakfast. I would definitely stay there again. C from San Antonio

My husband and I stayed at Barons Creekside for our honeymoon. We wanted to go somewhere that was going to be relaxing and quiet. Both of us love the out doors so this was perfect for us. It's close to the wineries and only 20 min from the Enchanted Rock. We went fishing in Barons Creek which was right outside our door. I would recommend going to Barons Creekside and staying for a weekend.

Just about every thing you can imagine you would need, Daniel has thought of. No breakfast items, however Wal-Mart is literally 5 mins away and downtown Fredericksburg is 5 mins the opposite direction. Lots of restaurants and shopping. Can't go wrong.

My wife and I went here as a "get away" and it was absolutely perfect. We stayed in the Grindelwald and it was wonderfully appointed. We felt secluded given the amount of beautiful landscaping around and a view close to the little stream. It was very quiet and peaceful and the bed was comfortable. If we had turned it on, I might say that the TV was a little small and there was no DVD player, but we never even turned the thing on in 4 days. We enjoyed the surrounding nature and a few good books on the couch in front of a fire! (It was 36 degrees in May, who would have thought!!) The dinner provided by MyOwnChef was exquisite. We will certainly be coming back and I look forward to the next trip.

We only stayed two nights and loved our time here in Fredericksburg. The cabin was cute, very clean, all the amenities we needed and loved the property at Baron's Creekside. Very relaxing, just what we needed at the end of our mini vacation. Met Daniel, who was very nice and welcoming, thank you for our wonderful stay and we definitely will come back.

My husband and I stayed at Barons Creekside May 2013. We stayed in one of the swiss lodges titled "Rhine Falls". The cabin was beautiful. I cannot find any negatives to report. The owner clearly paid attention to every detail of this cabin. It was extremely clean. Cozy yet spacious. The cabin comes with everything you could possibly need including all kitchen supplies. The cupboard was stocked with coffee, tea, etc. All you need to do is pack a bag with your clothes and other personal items. Everything else you will find in the cabin. The grounds near our cabin were real pretty. Our cabin was located right next to the water fall. The weather did not give us the opportunity to leave our screened door open to fall asleep to the sound of the water. Hopefully next time. We had our own fire pit. BBQ grill. 2 patio sitting areas with a total of 4 rocking chairs. To sum it up Barons Creek was perfect for us. I will recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect, beautiful, relaxing, quiet place for a vacation. I will make a return visit for sure.

Nine friends who have know each other since childhood rented the Lodge and the Victorian for three days and found it perfect for our group. We ate lunch out, then grazed and drank wine in the evening in the spacious living room of the Lodge. We appreciated the full kitchen and were glad not to be interrupted by maids during our stay. Daniel is a gracious host and has successfully merged the best of his native Switzerland with the beauties of the Texas Hill Country.

My husband and I stayed in the Wasserfall cabin. It was so romantic! We had the best time and will definitely be back again soon.

We stayed in the Swiss Cabin Lucern at Barons Creekside and it was just amazing. The owner, Daniel, was so welcoming and friendly. The 26 acres were beautiful in April with the bluebonnets & the wildlife was wonderful (we saw 17 new baby ducks). The accomodations were great and we wished we could stay forever! It was quiet, peaceful, cozy and enchanting. The creek, flowers, ROCKERS on porches and easy access to main street was great. We already have reservations for next April.

This place is magic. The lodges are old and rustic with modern-day conveniences. They give off a very comfortable and homely feel. And the owner is very friendly and kind. I would recommend this place to everyone!

We spent 3 relaxing enjoyable days at Barons Creekside. The cabin was spotless and had every amenity we could ask for. It was a delight to meet the owner, Daniel and he enhanced our visit by giving us some information about the creation of Barons Creekside. We loved being in the "country" but yet only a 5 minute drive from any of the activities/shopping in Fredericksburg. We definitely plan to visit this incredible place again soon and would recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful vacation. Steve & Pattye Austin, Texas

It was a wonderful stay with 6 adults and 3 dogs at the Mesquite Farmhouse. We really enjoyed the huge backyard with the fire pit, though we did not get a chance to use the hot tub. All in all, it was an enjoyable experience for our first time in Fredericksburg. Comfortable. Convenient. Relaxing. I will definitely recommend Baron's Creek Side to any of my friends. Only thing I'd wish for is a lower pet charge!

We enjoyed our stay very much! It was so quiet and peaceful, just what we needed. The only complaint we had was with the shower....not much of a shower head or pressure. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. We would stay again.

Stay was peaceful, unique and enjoyable! This oasis was more rustic than cushy, so keep that in mind. We liked having our own Swiss cabin for ourselves & our own firepit was great! Was very nice to see Daniel coming to greet us. I think it would be nice to have upgraded coffee & toiletries; perhaps also one more towel rack - I couldn't reach the upper shower bar....thank you

My husband and I have stayed at several B&B inns in Fredericksburg as well as other locations throughout the years. While we enjoyed most of them, Baron's is our favorite, hands-down! The minute we turned into the property and pulled up on the rocky 'drive way' in front of our cabin, we knew we had picked the perfect place. Nestled on 26 acres, this place was absolutely delightful and provided us with the much needed rest, relaxation and rejuvenation we needed. We have found our 'home away from home' and intend to enjoy several long weekends hanging out here throughout the year.

We stayed in the Victorian and it was really comfy. It was cute and felt like being at home. The beds were amazingly comfy and this is coming from a sheet snob. The lighting isn't the best in the rooms for makeup but it's bc the house is so authentic. The property is gorgeous. We really enjoyed seeing the grounds. The owner was a pleasure to meet. He seemed to really love seeing others enjoy his creations. I think this is the best place in Fredericksburg to stay. We will be back!
3.8 on March 30, 2013
Beautiful location and the cabin was rustic, yet very comfortable and exceptionally clean. Loved the clever touches of antiques and "cabin" décor. Dining and shopping are a few minutes away. Our favorite part was sitting in the sun on our own little porch, watching the ducks, reading, and enjoying the Texas sunshine. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
4.2 on March 25, 2013
The cabins at Barons Creekside are awesome! If you want to get a way and enjoy the quiet of the countryside, this is the place. It has an old world feel, which makes it even more relaxing and enjoyable. The grounds are well kept and the owner is very nice. This was a surprise date for my husband and he really appreciated it. I hope we can make our way back out there again. Loved it!

It was a great cabin on a beautiful property. We loved that it feels like you are out in the country when you are actually so close to town. There is no on site dining but it is just a few blocks to many places to eat.

WOW !! We stayed in The Baron's Cabin for 4 days and we were extremely happy with the accommodations. The staff was really good about giving you your privacy and at the same time being there for you if needed them. The craftsmanship, design and planning of the property is phenomenal ! Daniel (the owner) was very cordial and very friendly. The property was really nice and very inviting. We had My Own Chef Provide a gourmet meal on the porch of our cabin and it was one of the most romantic meals we have ever had. The meal was absolutely first class. We will most definitely be returning,
5 on March 18, 2013
Comfortable, beautiful lodging only minutes from downtown Fredericksburg, TX. We invited our grown children to visit us at Barons Creekside and they loved feeding the ducks and walking the nature trail. Now our kids want to stay at Barons Creekside the next time they are in the Hill Country. Sitting on the porch, enjoying nature, our entire family experienced a very restful Spring Break in Fredericksburg!
4.6 on March 17, 2013
Stayed 3 nights March 11-14. Weather was perfect - cold enough for fires in the morning or evening, but warm enough during the day to wear shorts. Was so relaxing that we barely spent any time in town, only going in for meals and short shopping trips. We even grilled steaks at the cabin one night. The only negative was the bed which was very uncomfortable.
4.6 on March 17, 2013
This is our second time to stay at Barons Creekside for Spring Break and we liked it even more than the first! The Hill Top Chalet was perfect for our family of 5. And the kids can't wait to come again next year! Couldn't ask for a nicer place to stay while in Fredericksburg!
4.6 on March 12, 2013
This was my second visit to Barons Creekside and it was just as wonderful as the first time. Daniel is a fantastic host! The improvements he has made to the property (not that any were needed) made a beautiful property even more so. I can't wait to return again and again. Thank you Daniel. Thank you Barons Creekside. Love the place!
5 on March 09, 2013
My husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon and it was perfect in every way. We stayed in the mesquite farmhouse. It's close enough to town so that you can have a very nice dinner within a 5 minute drive but far enough away from town so that it was perfectly silent at the farmhouse. Perfect if you want to get away without being too remote.
4.2 on March 05, 2013
The cabins are attractive and very clean, with lots of careful details in each one. This is a fun place to stay that doesn't really have dining on-site so don't expect that. It does have cooking facilities in the cabins, and the cabins are lovely. It's close to town so you can easily get to excellent restaurants. The facility has plenty of places to walk and enjoy nature, and while the cabins look rustic, they are chock full of modern conveniences such as jacuzzis, heating, and air conditioning.

We had a wonderful time and can't wait to make another trip to Fredericksburg!
5 on March 02, 2013
Very nice getaway! Will definately be back. Only advice is to not bring a dog if they like water. They may try and jump in the jacuzzi when least expecting and then be charged more money after already spending an arm and a leg on the cabin...Other than that....great place! Oh, And don't let the owner tell you about a 5 mile long line at Enchanted Rock. I've been there three times throughout my life and never waited in a line. Got in right away. Just keep away from the owner all together and you'll be fine. ; )
Thanks a lot for your 5 star rating! I fully agree with your comment about not to come with dogs loving water and jumping in the jacuzzi. It needed a 2 man each 4 hours "operation" taking the spa completely appart to get it clean. As you recall, you were NOT charged for that even though it resulted in more than $100 extra labor on a $200 night stay. Instead you were asked to please give a generous tip to the houskeepers. (They did appreciate your $14 tip, thank you). As for Enchanted Rock: Most every weekend, the parking lot there is full at about 10am, creating a mile(s) long line, waiting easily for over an hour to get into the park. So we really do advice our guests to be there early or late in the afternoon. I am glad you have not been caught in that line :)

We really enjoyed staying in the Farmhouse at Baron's Creekside. You are only a couple minutes away from Main Street Fredericksburg, but you feel like you are worlds away. The jacuzzi and fire pit off the back porch was a nice touch. At one point we had a breaker blow and the power went out in half of the house. A worker was sent to our house within 5 miuntes and fixed the problem immediatelty. They worker was very polite as well.

We stayed here for our 40th wedding anniversary and I must say we'll definitely be going back. Barons CreekSide was established in 2006 and the story behind its establishment is amazing. The rustic log cabins were all built by the owners as well as the creek flowing down the middle of the camp. There is no dining on site unless you have it catered, so this area is not reviewed, but Fredericksburg is not far away and has plenty of choices. The facilities are rustic, but very comfortable and absolutely clean. Staff are friendly and responsive. A great place to stay if for no other reason than just needing to get away from the city, Barons CreekSide is well worth the drive

We came to Baron's in the middle of winter for our honeymoon. We were totally in love with the room and were so pleased with the friendliness and help we received from the staff. This cabin is not a "luxury" bed and breakfast, but offers something so much more! The grounds, the cabin, the fireplace, the quietness and the homey feel are wonderful!
5 on January 29, 2013
My husband and I stayed in the Zermatt cabin for our 25th wedding anniversary. We really needed a place to just relax. We enjoyed Fredericksburg, but loved coming back to the cabin to sit on the porch and enjoy the view. We had a romantic dinner catered by My Own Chef which was a high light of our stay as well. Absolutely delicious!! We'd like to go back and take advantage of the pottery/art lessons.
5 on January 27, 2013
Barons Creekside is an amazing place to stay. It's owner Danial is so personal and helped us plan our girls trip. We stayed in the lodge but he showed us one of the intimate cabins and it's beautiful. I plan to return for a romantic vacation with my husband. Another advantage is you're minutes from downtown Fredericksburg. Thank you for the wonderful accommodation. I have already recommended your place to a friend and would recommend your place to anyone looking for a special place to stay I the Fredericksburg area.

We spent two nights at Barons CreekSide and we loved it. It was cozy, peaceful, and beautiful. It was a perfect little getaway. The Swiss Cabins are so charming. We stayed in Interlacken. We'll definitely go back. Our favorite nearby places were Becker's Vineyard, Pasta Bella (on Llano Street, delicious!), and Lincoln Street. Lincoln St. was a great place to have a relaxing glass of wine after dinner. It had live music and fireplaces outside. We can't wait until next year to go back to Barons!

4.4 on January 09, 2013
We took a chance booking this property without knowing much about it - what a payoff! It was just minutes from downtown, Main St. and such a precious property! Individual cabins all nestled into the hills. The owner, this sweet Swiss transplant, is always there on site and chops the wood for the wood piles. He makes a point to come around and speak with everyone if you hang around outside enjoying the beautiful nature and creek that runs through the property. Such a nice retreat - we'll def be going back!

If you are looking for a relaxing, romantic place in the Texas Hill Country, this is it. It has a country feel but is close to town. The hospitality of Daniel Meyer is wonderful. We also had a private meal prepared and served in our cabin, the meal was outstanding and the chef's were very nice and friendly.
4.6 on January 02, 2013
The overnight stay near wonderful shopping and wineries was flawless. The attention to detail in the cabin decor was refreshing and the layout of the cabins was just right. We loved the lookout and waking up to the peaceful country outdoors. We enjoyed Waserfall and will be returning!
5 on December 30, 2012
This was our 3rd Christmas at Baron's Creekside. It is by far the ultimate in luxury accommodations. We look forward to our time there, relaxing in front of the fire, sitting and rocking on the front porch with a good book. Another benefit is that you can get into town in less than a minute to enjoy the German culture with good food and true Texas shops. When you are on the Baron's site you would have no idea how close you are to town because it truly is a hidden gem!
4.6 on December 26, 2012
Feels like you are in the countryside, yet only 2 blocks from town. Its' our go-to place when visiting Fredricksburg. Very unique cottages.

Wonderful stay in the beautiful swiss cabins, but it would be nice if Barons Creekside brought the breakfast part back to the B&B! :-)
Thank you so much for your very nice review and that you really enjoyed your Swiss Log Cabin. You noted correctly that we are not a "traditional" B&B but much more a little vacation village where each cabin has its own genereous kitchenette or full kitchen. We also stock complimentary coffee, tea and juice . I personally believe that our guest enjoy that privacy over having breakfast with strangers. And if a full brekfast is desired: We are only 3 minutes from the wonderful bakeries in town. Thanks again for having been our guests and I am looking forward to see you again. Daniel, owner

We decided to make a trip to the Hill Country for a few days and it was the most exhilarating experience. The owner of this property takes great pride in his place and it shows in every touch. If you're looking to get away from the rat race and find peace and tranquility...this is the place for you. A+++++
5 on December 25, 2012
We were very pleased with every part of our stay The cabin with the fireplace was top of the line Even though we were close to town we had the feeling we were in the middle of a quaint early settlement community. The flowing creek with the ducks was very nice. Everyone was very friendly. I have told everyone that would listen about the cabin.

I decided to suprise my wife with a trip to the hill country for her birthday. I knew she would love the cabins and the feel of Fredericksburg. I was right on both accounts. We really enjoyed our stay at Barons Creekside. It was a pleasure to meet the owner who was more than helpful. We had two comfy nights in front of a fire and our days were filled with activities. There is no shortage of wineries but if you really want a special experience I suggest checking out Garrison Brothers Distillery. It is the only true craft bourban still in the state. We both thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and would recommend Barons Creekside to anyone who enjoys a little more privacy and likes the quiet of the country, even though you are only two minutes away from town.

My wife and I stayed for two nights and loved the cabins. We stayed in Lucerne and Interlaken for one night each. The location is quiet, secluded and makes you feel like you're no longer in Texas. The cabins are incredible - the craftsmanship that went into them is amazing. We really could not have asked for more.

I did not rate 'dining' as this is not a traditional "B&B" and therefore does not offer food service. Otherwise I would highly recommend this property.

Just happened upon this place looking for a last minute short get away. Luckily they must have had a cancellation. We stayed in one of the Swiss cabins --- could not have been more pleased. Fredricksburg is a great place to shop, and we did, but this was by far the highlight of our stay. The cabins make you feel like you are hundreds of miles away from the city but you are just a short drive away. The survey required a rating on dining but there is no dining facility on site - there is a catered meal available for delivery but we did not partake of that. We will definitely come back.

Only managed a one nt stay, so we're already planning our return and highly recommending to friends. It's lovely to have such a private and remote feel to the grounds, yet be only a five minute walk from the downtown Fredericksburg strip (chock full of wine tasting rooms, bier gardens, bakeries, restaurants, art galleries etc.) The lights strung around the cabins are a nice touch, makes for lovely ambiance for late nt walks. Clean, private, romantic and appropriately priced.

Barons Creekside was completely breathtaking and beautiful. The scenery upon arriving to the cabin was beautiful with it's small path, green grass and enchanting creek. The outside of the cabin appeared small and charming. It had a very outdoors quality. Upon entering the cabin it was as entering another world with it's many common yet unique living essentials; the fireplace, the "nick-nack shelf", the visitor journal and also the heart-shaped windows. In addition, the scenic overlook outside the cabin and the nature trails were a joy. I would also like to add that our host - Daniel was extremely friendly and an outstanding gentleman. We look forward to visiting next November.

Hello, my husband and I enjoyed our stay, however I would have loved to enjoy the jacuzzi bathtub, but the water would not stay hot, waiting for it to heat back up wasted too much time so I gave up. That was disappointing. Also to have to pay $2 for a log of wood to enjoy in your cabin is a bit much for the price of our stay. Next time, if we decide to go back, we will bring our own. Some of the dishes were dirty, so I had to clean them before use. The extra's that we added on were the best part. They were on time and very professional.

Dear guest, thank you very much for taking the time for your review. I am very pleased that you will come back for more than one day as there is so much to do here. As you correctly state: we are not a traditional B&B. We are much more like a small village where you rent one of our 14 fully equipped private cabins or houses, each having a well equipped kitchenette or full kitchen. For your convenience we stock complimentary coffee and juice in each cabin as well. Many of our guest also enjoy to take the 2 minute ride into town to visit one of the wonderful German bakeries. I am looking forward to see you soon again. Yours Daniel

Barons Creekside has always been a favorite place for us, the cabins are awesome and the houses are neat and clean. Love the old time feel, the quiet time and the sounds of birds and running water. It is a wonderful place to get away and just relax!

We had a wonderful time at Barons Creekside during our two night stay in the Grindelwald cabin. It was the most fun place we've ever stayed. I would definitely recommend it to anyone!

My husband and I came for a short stay while visiting his family in Texas. We stayed in the Swiss cabin Interlaken. The cabin was nicely decorated, very clean, and comfortable. The friendly cats were added plus. We had some issues with the door to the cabin, but this was promptly fixed by the staff. All in all, we had a relaxing and comfortable stay.

My husband and I searched for a lovely quiet place to have our wedding and this did not disappoint! It was beautiful and every area on this property is picture perfect. Great getaway and our families loved the place.

We decided to do Fredricksberg for our honeymoon. Staying at the Barons on Creekside made our visit even more perfect. The quiet, lush landscape was exactly what we were looking for our time together. We will be back! Jessica Konzen

My wife and I wanted to get away for a weekend and rekindle the marriage flame and the Victorian House B+B at Barons Creekside proved to be the right medicine. We were amazed at the size of the house and couldn't believe it was all ours for the weekend. It was clean, comfortable and close to Main Street but not too close. We now want to return and try some of the other B+B's at Barons Crekside because they are all unique and can't wait to see what that log cabin looks like inside. I give Barons 5 stars for coming through with everything it promises on the website and brochure. Highly recommend.

Loved it so beautiful and peaceful. Close to town and yet felt like a country retreat. So wonderful for a family or a romantic weekend away.

My fiancee and I stayed at the Rhine Falls Cottage from 9/12/2012 - 9/9/2012. This has to be one of the best places I have stayed at. The Cottage is just spectacular! All the furnishings are very cozy. The patio overlooks a small waterfalls so it was really nice sitting outside at night to the sound of the waterfalls and sipping wine. The place and grounds are extremely clean. Because of the creek I was expecting mosquitoes, but surprisingly they were hardly any mosquitoes (or bugs for that matter). We will definitely be back to try out another cottage next time! Some of the reviews were complaining about no breakfast served - there are lots of restaurants just 2-3 miles away, but you wont find such an amazing place anywhere in the vicinity.

We were instantly charmed by both the property's proximity to downtown yet remote feel all at the same time. This was one of THE most relaxing stays we have had all over the state in a long, long time. A super comfortable cabin and lots of unexpected details made this destination feel very 5 star on a 3 star budget! We loved it and will come back!

A beautiful and clean cabin, so relaxing we didn't want to leave. We plan to return often.

Baron's was a nice location, very close to town and it was very easy to get to the shopping and dining areas of Fredericksburg. We stayed during the week and there were very few guests, so the place itself was very quiet. Some of the cabins seemed very close together, so I suggest looking at the property map when making your cabin choice. Since it was so close to town, it was also very close to the highway, so you can hear the cars if sitting outside. I rated this as 'meeting expectations' in most areas, but mainly because I can't say it was below average. The one area I rated as OK is cleanliness - not that it was dirty, but there were areas that weren't cleaned/ dusted (a few cobwebs on lamps, part of a shower curtain, etc.) - perhaps things not everyone would notice and certainly nothing that made me want to leave. The beds were very comfortable and the furnishings were nice. Television and cell phone reception was great; I didn't get around to trying the WI-FI connection. The cabin we stayed in seemed to need a little maintenance, but still pretty nice. My one true complaint is probably a silly one. They advertise orange juice, coffee and tea being provided - the four small bottles of orange juice, coffee and creamer were a generic brand. My thought is if these are your advertised 'extras' you'd at least spring for the good stuff! If you're used to good coffee, bring your own (I did).

Away from the city, beautiful, and quiet. Just the break we needed. We will definitely return! We told our friends about it as well. Went to Cabernet Grill for Dinner - one of the best meals ever.

My wife and I were on our honeymoon and stayed in Wasserfall. We fully enjoyed the cabin and the grounds - so much so that we will return for another stay in another cabin in the future. The only problem we encountered was wasps inside the cabin every day. Apparently there are a few holes they can get through. (I found no nests inside the cabin and there was plenty of wasp spray available.) They were an annoyance really - who wants to sleep with wasps? But overall I would rate Baron's Creekside outstanding.

Only problem we had was the a/c unit was loud and it was hard to go to sleep at night.

I loved the cabin.... Everything about it was totally amazing. The only thing was there was some confusion when we checked in. The guy told us that the office was closed on Sunday so there was no hurry to get the key turned in, just drop in the box. We stayed in the cabin a little too long and the owner (I guess) came banging on the door. I felt bad for staying too long and was very embarrassed. I know the paperwork says checkout is at 11:00, but you might want to be more clear when people are checking in on what you mean by don't worry....there's no hurry to turn in your key on Sunday, we're closed means. :) We had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back again.

Our forth stay at the Creekside, beautiful cabins and we will return again soon.
3.2 on August 29, 2012
This was our first visit and we stayed in the newest Swiss cabin. The cabin was unique, charming to look at and there are many personal touches to give it a cozy, rustic feel; we especially enjoyed the privacy, quiet and close proximity to town. On the down side, it needed some work in the comfort and function department: the kitchenette taps could only be completely opened and closed with the aid of a washcloth and a lot of muscle; the sleeping experience was a challenge because the bed was soft and mushy, the foam pillows rock hard and the fitted sheets would not stay on the bed. The two extremely large rockers on the porch, while appealing to look at, were uncomfortable and much too large for the space and tended to impede traffic flow.
4.8 on August 23, 2012
Close enough to Main St., but secluded and romantic. The cabins are amazing and have so much character to them. Loved sitting on the porch in the evening with a glass of local wine!

Having never been to Frederickburg before, i chose Barons CreekSide on a whim. The accommodations on their website looked lovely, and the price was competitive with the other places I viewed. We were able to stay in the Jaccuzi Master Suite, and the suite itself is huge! I was surprised by how spacious it was, and the way it is decorated is very charming. The premises are beautiful and quiet. It was nice to walk around and see all of the cute, decorated cows as well as the wonderful creek that runs through the property. Barons CreekSide is conveniently located near downtown Fredericksburg, but just far enough away to be a peaceful getaway. My one and only complaint is that the jacuzzi of the Jacuzzi Master Suite is rather small... Designed for one person. Those looking for a romantic getaway and thinking that the jacuzzi sounds good should know that. I feel the website does not make that clear. Overall, a wonderful first visit to beautiful Fredericksburg, and a lovely stay at Barons CreekSide.

Loved the peace and quiet. Loved the working farm. The fishing hole took some getting to, but was great fun when we got there. You have to walk down the creek to get to it, so dress appropriately. Would highly recommend for quiet, romantic times.

We stayed in the Wasserfal cabin the weekend of Aug 10-12th. I was extremely impressed with how close to downtown this was however it had the feel of being secluded. The cabin was cozy and perfect for our birthday weekend stay. I'm sure we had neighbors but there was absolutely no way of knowing that without seeing a car. The stream made the aviance the perfect romantic get away. We will be returning in the fall and spring time when the weather is not as hot. Thank you for having AC and for the fabulous hot tub. We will definitely recommend this place for all those heading to Fredericksburg in the near future.

A great place to stay and wonderful setting. A little misleading because they do not serve breakfast.
Dear guest, thank you very much for taking the time to write your review and thank you for the wonderful comment about the wonderful setting. In regards to breakfast, we do state on our website that we are not a traditional B&B but much more a romantic getaway where all cabins and houses are equiped with a kitchen or kitchenette and we stock complimentary coffee, tea and juice. Since we are only 2 minutes from Main street with numerous bakeries and our guests really love to have privacy, we feel that this is really what our guests want. I am sorry if you thought that we would serve breakfast but I am very pleased that you had a great time at Barons CreekSide

My husband and I stayed in the Victorian with our two young children for the weekend and had a wonderful time. We loved the front porch with swing and rockers. The kids loved feeding the fish and hiking to the swimming hole - it was more of a hike than we expected! The accommodations were very quaint and overall what we expected. The furnishings could have been better (e.g., couch not so comfy, needed a side table in the bathroom and bedroom), but not a big deal - the place was cute and the beds were comfy enough. Great location near town. I would recommend this place to others.

If you want to get away to a unique, peaceful and totally delightful place, Barons at Creekside is it! Daniel and the menagerie of friendly people and pets make this place, friendly, but private. Daniel has designed rustic cabins with all the wonderful amenities we're spoiled to expect. We would never stay anywhere else! Tamara B.

Barons Creekside fit our needs perfectly. The property is scenic, quiet, and very relaxing. The cabin was just right. It was comfortable and very clean. This is the PERFECT B&B! I don't want to stay anywhere else in Fredericksburg TX except for Barons Creekside. To say that it is nice is such an understatement. We stayed in Zermett and the detail that goes into these cabins are amazing! There are so many personal touhes everywhere you look and and having the stream right infront of the porch is so serene. Me and my fiance wanted a very relaxing weekend and we got exactly what we wanted. The cats and ducks come greet you everyday and will just lounge around. Daniel has done an amazing job on creating this place and I think everyone that comes to Fredericksburg needs to stay here atleast once! We will definitely be back and I can't wait. I am already booking our next visit.

My sister and I just finished our fourth visit to Baron's Creekside, and it was just as wonderful as before, only better, due to the new additions. This was our second stay in Sunset, and we love the idea of our own kitchen and large living area and two beds. The cabins are fantastic, too. Each one has its own unique style. Love the front porches and rocking chairs overlooking the stream. The setting is so peaceful and seems to be miles from civilization, even though it isn't. The owner, Daniel, and his staff are happy to accommodate your requests and respect your privacy. However, if you want to visit with them, they are always up for a chat. Loved all the visits from the cats, dog and duckies. Great place to stay while you visit all of the wineries, shop in town, or tour the beautiful hill country. Great places to eat. Be sure to visit the Navajo Grill and the Cotton Gin. Not your standard B&B, but better.

These quirkly little cabins were great. We felt like we were out in the country, even though we were conveniently close to town. It was quiet and peaceful, and we felt very relaxed at the end of our all too brief stay. We are already talking about going back for a longer visit. Note that there is actually no dining here, but the rating website requires that I fill in that blank. However, the cabin did have a small fridge, microwave, toaster oven, and coffee pot, although we did not use anything but the fridge.

This was my second time staying at the Swiss Cabins, and it definitely won't be my last. This amazing place is worth returning to again and again, and gets harder to leave every time we stay. Perfect romantic weekend getaway with in-cabin massage and dinner for two brought right to you. Do yourself a favor and put aside some time to visit Barons Creekside at least once.

We wanted a quiet, quaint, and private spot for our honeymoon within reach of all the tourism we wanted to explore. Baron's CreekSide more than delivered. Our cabin was beyond what we had hoped for, with scenery and wildlife that made it feel like we were a million miles away. The drive to downtown Fredericksburg is literally 2 minutes, providing all the means for a delightful getaway. We were so pleased with our experience, and would not hesitate to recommend Baron's CreekSide to anyone!!

My wife and I stayed in the Rhine Falls Cabin. Really enjoyed it and would definitely consider another visit to Barons CreekSide. We live in a very rural area and are used to peace and quiet. Even though the property is very close to the town of Fredericksburg it felt like you were out in the country. No noise except for the sound of the "constructed waterfall" just outside our cabin which feeds into a small pond. Ducks strolled by each morning and a friendly cat hung outside on the patio. It was 100 degrees every day in Texas the week we were there but the Rhine Falls cabin was cool and relaxing. I highly recommend a stay at Barons CreekSide.

We thought the resort was incredibly cute and obviously well loved and looked after. It was a really unique concept and we loved reading the history behind the buildings. However, we felt it was unwarranted to charge a significant amount extra per night for our 3 year old daughter on the two bedroom farmhouse. We had already paid more to take the farmhouse than the lodges, understandably, but were upset to have to pay extra for a small child. The location was great, easy to get to all of the major attractions of the area and the farmhouse facilities were good - we especially enjoyed the jacuzzi!
Dear Guest, thank you very much for taking the time and effort to write a review and I really like your statement Barons CreekSide being "incredibly cute" In regards to the charge: You are correct, the rate for the Mesquite Farmhouse is $199/night based on 2 guests. We then do charge $ 30.- extra person over 2 years old as mentioned on the online booking form. This way we can be fair about the costs naturally involved with more or less guests. Most B&B type cabins do not allow children but me being triple grandpa I think Barons CreekSide is really way too cute not to share it with children, so we made several of our cabins "ok with kids" and I understand from your review that you really had a great time with your daughter. Thanks for having been my guests and I hope I get a chance to meet you personally next time here. Yours Daniel, owner

The cabin along with the area was exactly as what was shown on the web site. It had the atmosphere of country yet, Main St. was right next door. The cabin was clean & neat and had all the necessities. I really enjoyed reading the journal entries left there by the previous occupants. The one thing I recommend, is maybe consider the height of the sink mirror, I am 5'2 and had to pull it down to put on my war paint. My husband and I had a really great relaxing stay there. Just simply loved this place and do plan on returning.

Barons CreekSide is the perfect getaway while in the Hill Country. Not too far, yet not too close to town. Beautifully appointed. Very quiet. The only sounds we heard were the running waters in the stream in the morning and the ducks that came to greet us while we sat on the porch enjoying coffee and the sunrise. This is definitely a step above the rest and yet very affordable. Go and enjoy.

My wife and I were looking for a unique place somewhere in South Texas to spend our anniversary, and when I ran across this place online, I knew I'd found something out of the ordinary. We stayed in the Geneva cabin which was super charming. All of the cabins that back up to the creek enjoy lots of trees that screen the view pretty well, so it felt very private. We had a great time walking along the creek, relaxing on the back porch and enjoying our amazingly unique cabin. The bed was very comfortable, and everything was so clean and quiet. We loved this place, and we'll be back! (By the way, I ranked Dining as "3 stars - Met my expectations" because this property does not serve and meals. But I expected that. :)

Wow, where do I begin. Was joining my two sisters to celebrate our oldest sister's birthday, she had heard Fredericksburg TX was a great place to visit and I made the reservations. Sisters drove 4 1/2 hours, my drive was much shorter. There was no breakfast included, the cottage we had was also the laundry station for the rental properties so we could not lock the outside door, there were bugs, scorpions and other critters in the house with us.
Dear Sisters, I remember very well that you were not happy at all from the very moment you arrived. I was personally amazed that you booked a guest house at Barons CreekSide as it was obvious that you are the kind of guests that would typpically stay in a big City Hotel. Barons CreekSide however is a romantic, rustic, very well equipped "village" 2 minutes from Main Street but with all the country feel on 26 acres. The laundry room you mention in your house was your own privat laundry, not the laundry station for our village. (Would be difficult to operate a up to 46 guest resort with 1 washer and dryer :)) Our guests that stay for a week or more really appreciate to even have a laundry in the Farmhouse for themselves.

We spent 3 nights at Baron's Creekside and didn't want to leave. The cabin was roomy, clean, and much nicer than expected. The photos online do not do the property justice. We loved the rustic relaxation and enjoyed watching the not-so-wildlife (ducklings and cats) frolic by the creek. The creek was amazingly tranquil, and the painted cows were very quirky! This was the perfect Texas getaway. There are lots of activities in Fredericksburg and nearby Enchanted Rock, if you are so inclined.

My husband and I stayed in the Interlaken Cabin during our visit to Fredricksburg. It was awesome!!!! Such a unique and quiet place. The cabin was rustic, but had all the amenities that you would want for comfort. A great air conditioner, indoor plumbing..:) actually it had a very nice jacuzzi tub with a shower and a nice private potty area. The bed was very comfortable with outstandingly comfortable sheets. Better than many five star hotels we have stayed in. Front porch with rocking chairs - two thumbs up. I could go on and on, but you really have to go there to appreciate the beauty of this place. Daniel is very nice and helpful, but gives you all the privacy you want. We will definitely be coming back. Want to bring our two sons and families to stay in the Big House. Thanks for a wonderful few days in Fredricksburg. It rained hard one day we were there, but we just sat on the front porch and enjoyed the rain after the terrible drought that Texas had last year. You are literally two minutes from downtown Fredricksburg, but in the country. Thanks, Daniel for sharing this beautiful place.

Last fall we reserved the Sunset and Sunrise Cabins for a group of us to attend the Hill Country Run the second weekend in May. Plans change and we were the only couple who showed. Daniel opened the entire house for us to use as we had relatives staying at the Farmhouse we wanted to visit with during the weekend. We had the BEST TIME! The cabin/s were so comfortable, inviting and CLEAN! We shared kitchens and living space. Loved the mattress in the single bedroom. Tons of hot water! The A/C was perfect for the weekend!! All in all, it was absolutely the most enjoyable weekend we ever had in Fredericksburg ( and didn't even shop!!!) Many thanks to Daniel and his staff for a truly relaxing home away form home! Very interesting and enjoyable place to visit and stay. If you are looking for a cheap place to spend the night, this isn't it. It isn't expensive, but it isn't cheap either. This is more a resort destination where you need time to enjoy a special occasion, and the serenity of the place. Daniel, the owner, has done an amazing job cobbling these cabins together out of eclectic and recycled building materials. Despite their rustic appearance, the cabins are extremely well crafted and built, and the essential elements like plumbing, lights, and air conditioning perform like a 5-star hotel. If you need a get-away place to reconnect with your spouse, nature, or yourself, you will not be disappointed. It is also a great place for mature adults to have reunions and parties. This resort is better suited for adults. There are things for children to see and enjoy, but there are better suited venues for kids.

Food service was not provided, which they inform you of ahead of time, so if that's important to you, then it may not be for you. We like to be left to our own choices for that, so it wasn't a problem. Only 1-2 minutes from town, but it feels like further. The cabins are all unique with their own history. Daniel, the proprietor, was very friendly, interesting, and helpful. Would strongly recommend. Plan to stay there again.

Lovely spot, quiet and relaxing. The Lucerne cabin is perfect for two---very spacious and has everything you can possibly think of. Since breakfast is not served, you need to plan ahead by going to a bakery in town (ALERT!-most all stores/bakeries close by 5:30pm) or to a grocery store.

Wanted a quiet weekend away with my boyfriend and that's EXACTLY what I got! Property was meticulously maintained with every attention to detail - from the wildflowers in the vase to the firewood already cut outside - EVERYTHING was just perfect. I only wish we could have stayed longer...next time!

I'm always fearful at first of booking something online that I have never seen before, especially when it's a bed and breakfast when you're trying to plan a romantic get-a-way for you and your fiance. We couldnt have been more happy with Baron's Creekside. The property is beautiful, each cabin is very quiet, and it's location is very convenient. Daniel (the owner) came over and visited briefly with us to make sure we were having a good time and even invited us to watch him play his harmonica at a local pub later that night. He couldnt have been more friendly, the property couldnt have been nicer, and I am 100% happy with my choice to stay here. We passed several other B&Bs on the way to/from Baron's creekside and none of them can even compare. I promise you will love it here!!

But we will try! My wife and I spent our Honeymoon here at Barons! We've been together for 9 years and finally got married. Nothing could have beat this place. Me and Tracy have never felt closer to one another like we did here! (the staff was friendly, the Wasserfall cabin was very clean, comfy, not to big, not to small! Even though the T.V. was nice to have, we watched it for about an hour total in three days. The "My Own Chef" cooked an awsome meal for us, very good and romantic! If you leave your windows open at night you fall asleep to the water and the frogs, and awaken to the waterfall and the birds. The hot tub was amazing! I said words cannot explain, and what I have put down still can't come close nor can it give this place any justice. Me and my wife are already planning our 1 year anniversary back at Barons CreekSide. The wine tours, main street, the small town, It's just awsome!

We enjoyed the complete rest and relaxation. We did not check out any dining in the area or the chef cooked meal you could have arranged for on property. We did enjoy the couples massage at the cabin. We did meet the Host/ Owner Daniel and he was great to share so much information with us. We would recomend and will plan to stay again.

My husband and I just stayed here for our honeymoon in April. It was the best decision we could have made. The property is so beautiful and peaceful. Every morning we woke up opened our front door and saw the ducks swimming and the creek running. It was so nice:) At night we would lay out in the grass and take in the scenery and the stars. We loved the friendly cats on the property. The first night we arrived we were greeted by the calico cat. It felt very cozy and comfortable in the cabin. We slept better than ever! We were taken back at how nice and quiet our surroundings were in the morning. The convenience of the property being 5 minutes from Main St. was so awesome. When we were on the property we felt like we were out in nature and away from all cities. I hope everyone reads this and goes to stay at Barons Creekside. We loved our cabin Interlaken and Daniel was a pleasure to meet. He checked on us periodically and he was always so nice. We ran into him a few times in town and he really was so friendly. Thank you for a wonderful time! The newlyweds

We needed a casual weekend out of town and loved the property so much we got engaged near the creekside. After hearing the news, Daniel the owner went out of his way to make our stay even better. We plan on returning to enjoy all of the cabins!

We stayed in the Hilltop Sunset Chalet, it is located on top of a hill just outside of Fredericksburg. The property is beautiful with both man made and natural creeks running through. My children had a blast playing with and watching the ducks, cats, and dog roaming the property. The inside of the Villa was clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this property to visitors with young families.

We just returned from Barons CreekSide the weekend of March 9-11. It rained cats and dogs most of the weekend, but we were nice and warm and cozy in our cabin. We stayed in Sunset cabin close to the creek and lookout. Will return again when it is not raining to walk around acreage and look at all the beauty, just a couple minutes from main street!

Barons CreekSide was a great place to stay. I loved the peacefulness and the being able to see ducks in the backyard. Also there is a little fenced in area that would be perfect for someone with a pet. This company can actually help you plan your whole trip to Fredricksburgh and I love the convenience of that. We were able to take advantage of the private dinner at our cabin and the food was amazing. This is a trip I plan on taking again!

My family of four(two young girls) stayed for two night in Feb. in the Mesquite Farmhouse. It was wonderful. While the outside of the farm house is a little bit of a let down after driving past the cute Swiss Cabins we found the farmhouse to be perfect for us. Plenty of room, nice kitchen(though we never coked), comfy bedrooms, and a HOT TUB! Perfect for the kids to chill out after a morning of climbing Enchanted Rock. Daniel(the owner) was very friendly as well as the other staff. The land and cabins are picturesque and though you are only 5 min from downtown Main you feel as though you are in the country. There were ducks, a swimming hole(too cold for us), cats, a super friendly pup who loved to play fetch, and goats next door. I gave dining a 5 star because there are soooo many great places in Fredricksburg to eat at. I highly recommend staying here and we are already planning a return trip. a great place for a romantic weekend in one of the adorable swiss cabins or a family jaunt to the hill country.

Daniel, the owner was there to greet us on arrival and made our stay exceptional. He was very informative regarding places to eat and things. The cabins are unique and beautiful as well as the grounds with a stream running in front of the cabins. You have the feeling of being far away but in fact you are only 2 minutes from Main Street. Loved getting up early in the morning and hiking around with a cup of coffee watching the animals. Extremely relaxing!!! Will definately be back.......

I gave this weekend getaway to my girlfriend for Christmas. Baron's Creekside exceeding both of our expectations. The cabins were very cozy and romantic. Eventhough, we were only about a mile from the highway, it felt like we had been transported to the European countryside. Absolutely a great place to stay.

The cabin was charming and very romantic. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate for our trip but we plan to return at a later date. We were met at our cabin by two very friendly cats and we really enjoyed spending time with them. I think their owner was on a trip and they were lonely! It was nice that the cottage was furnished with a small flat screen TV. I have stayed at some that had no TV at all and I find that too disconnected for my taste. Loved the fireplace! But.. I thought it a little ridiculous to have to pay $2 per log on the honor system to enjoy the ambiance. Regardless, we will return to enjoy the numerous amenities that we didn't have time to do on this visit. I really like the fact that it was so close to town but it didn't seem that you were anywhere near town.

It was our first trip to Fredericksburg and we loved it. We loved everything about the Barons Creekside. if there was one thing to complain about it would be the water pressure in the shower. It was very low and difficult to wash your hair with. Other than that it was wonderful!

We booked a last minute stay at Barrons in the Mesquite Farmhouse and it was absolutely amazing, very cool property and better than the picture show. The owner was on the property and was a super nice guy. The actual house/cabin had all the basic necessities and the fire pit and hot tub outside were excellent. It was exactly the vacation we were hoping for and are already planning a return trip. Its very close to town but seems like you are in serenity in the middle of nature.......we HIGHLY recommend this place!!!!!

The Swiss Cabins were exactly what I was looking for-- the perfect little oasis in the Texas hill country. It was also wonderful to find a place that felt like it was hidden away, but was really only minutes from downtown Fredricksburg. I recommend this place to everyone!

The Geneva is a lovely cabin with enough luxuries to make us feel completely panpered. We were able to relax in the quiet setting but still a few minutes away to downtown Fredricksburg for dining and wine-tasting. It was easy to find and pick up the key. After a couple of years spent in Iraq in a war-zone, thank you Daniel for helping us to re-enter stateside. It is good to be home again in Texas. We will definitely be back!

What a wonderful property! We rented the Sunrise and Sunset cabins that were connected, the resident cats greeted us as we drove up and showed us around! There is not a breakfast included, coffee and orange juice is provided but that was fine. There was plenty of room, beautiful antiques, everything we needed in the kitchens and the grounds were gorgeous. We will definitely be back!

5 on December 07, 2011
Daniel and his "crew" were so friendly and nice! The cabin we stayed in was more than the pictures can show and no amount of talking about how great the property is will suffice. If you are thinking about staying here, STAY HERE! We did not dine, but did use the coffee maker, toaster, and fridge so that counts for the 5 star dining status. The only way our stay could have been nicer is if we stayed longer.

My husband and I stayed at the Mesquite Farmhouse for 2 nights. It was the cutest little house and we felt so cozy and right at home. Daniel has thought of everything from the fully stocked kitchen to even a little christmas tree in the living room! The doggie yard was PERFECT for our puppy to run around. She even got to invite a friend over to play (Captain, a little jack russell who stays on the property with one of the builders who lives there). Everyone including the housekeeping staff is super friendly and welcoming! It rained pretty much all weekend so we did not use the jacuzzi or sit on the back porch. It is a 2 minute drive to the main shopping street known as the magic mile! So convenient!! We can't wait to come back again!!!

My wife Valorie and I were celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary along with her 40th birthday and I have to say we made an excellent choice in staying at the Lucerne log cabin at Barons Creekside. It is basically one huge open room, but perfect for a romantic getaway! The weather was just right for us to get a fire going so we enjoyed cuddling on the nearby couch as we reminisced over the last 20 years as a couple. The front porch is just steps from a beautiful man-made waterfall that was very therapeutic for us as we recuperated from the stresses of daily life. We had the privilege of meeting the owner the morning we were getting ready to leave. What it lacked in breakfast, Daniel more than made up for with his excellent recommendations for places to eat in town. What blessed us the most were two other things he did for us though. Our truck was in need of some service, and he was kind enough to direct us to an honest mechanic in town named Doc's who helped us get on our way. The most impressive thing about him was his kindness in being willing to take a trip to the UPS store to send us a jacket my wife accidently left behind! This place will see us again soon.......It will make a great retreat for our church this coming year! Thanks again, Daniel, for building such a tremendous getaway for couples and taking care of us as if we were your dearest friends. Bill and Valorie MacDonald

Our Thanksgiving/Birthday surprise for our Mom was made extra special by the supurbly rustic but fully modern facilities at Baron's. Daniel came by several times and everyone enjoyed chatting with him - a truly gracious host! Our family was able to assemble all five brothers and sisters from across the US for 4 days at this unique location less than 2 hours from our Mom's home in San Antonio. The Lodge, Hilltop Chalet, and Mesquite Farmhouse were superb accomodations for our clan of 20 plus 4 dogs. The dog run at the Mesquite was a canine favorite where they could come and go from the inside enclosed entrance. The Lodge made an ideal headquarters for our Thanksgiving dinner, Venison Bar BQ, and Mom's 90th birthday party. Thank you Daniel for creating this unique hill country retreat -- all the family want to come back. Looking forward to seeing you again, The Pruett Clan.

The Victorian house is a great place to spend some time in the Hill Country. The rooms were nice and big. There was some dust on the shelves, but that wasn't too bad for a weekend. The couch didn't seem to be very clean, though. The place is just amazing. The check out time turned to be too early for the money we paid, but we would come back again! We had the pleasure to meet the owner, who was very nice and friendly. Thanks for such a great weekend!

My wife and I spent two nights and days at Barons CreekSide. This was the perfect place for a get away, complete with a waterfall in front of our cabin. Daniel Meyer was an accommodating, hospitable and interesting host. We did not eat at Barons CreekSide, but we are sure that if Daniel had provided a meal, it would have been outstanding. So we rated "Dining" outstanding, because of the good meals we had in Fredericksburg.

Barons cabin was well appointed, clean and ready for our visit. The spacious bathroom with large shower was a favorite with all four of us. During our stay, the staff accidentally cut the water line one morning while digging a trench. They apologized profusely and volunteered to move us to the more spacious Mesquite farmhouse. We then had the opportunity to enjoy another very comfortable and spacious property with a lovely deck and jacuzzi. Our son used the Texas mesquite jacuzzi setting to propose to his girlfriend. She accepted and now we all have fond memories of our visit to Barons Creekside combined with delicious cuisine and unique shops in Fredericksburg.

Recently stayed at the Mesquite Farmhouse. The spa tub outside was relaxing and perfectly heated. The grounds however were marginally maintained and relatively devoid of wildlife except for the resident dog (who was slowly but surely killing the bushes with his marking) and horse in the back yard! Yes... horse with a plethora of flies in the backyard. I had planned a sunset dinner on the porch, but lack of furniture and the persistant buzzing insects had us eating inside instead. I've lived in Texas all my life and honestly every other place, including my backyard, have deer! Just saying! With that said, the grounds were quiet and secure. The dinner with Chef Charles was a delicious experience that I highly recommend. Fabulous! All in all, not sure I would stay here again.

This year marked our "15" Wedding Anniversay and we decided to stay at Baron's Creekside and we are so glad we did! We stayed in the Wasserfall Cabin and were amazed with the decor and how comfortable it was. The grounds were wonderful and just looking out each morning to ducks crossing the the road made it even more amazing! While there we meet the Owner Daniel, a very pleasant man whom you can tell really cares about his guests. Oh, and I can't forget about Joe (Joey) the groundskeeper and his dog Captain Flap Jack just wonderful! Anything we needed was only a phone call away. We have been all around the world and who would have guessed in the little TEXAS town we would find a piece of heaven! We plan to return each year and make this trip into a tradition! Daniel and Joey please keep up the great work and THE HART's look foward to seeking you all again soon! To furture guests, this is the ultimate vacation spot to relax and have great fun! Arrival and Departure made easy (we were after hours, so never actually saw anybody). Cabin was very clean and spacious. Well equipped kitchen area in the cabin (take the contents of your home fridge with you if you don't want to dine out every night). Walmart is very close. Winery tours are worth doing too. We'll be back!

We had a wonderful time staying at Barons CreekSide Cabins. We stayed at the Lucerne and enjoyed our stay. The only recommendation I would suggest is that My Own Chef Catering have a light option since the the servings were quite hardy. Not really a negative but I thought it was worth mentioning. I would like to reiterate that we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We will be back!

This is our 2nd visit to Baron's Creekside and we enjoy our stay. It is so relaxing to sit by and creek or on the porch in the evening. It is a nice escape from the hustle of daily life. However, there were a few cob webs in the corners of the room but nothing major. Daniel does a great job and can always be seen working on the property. I look forward to another visit in the near future and the new ducks that will be hatched soon :)

Charming cabin, wonderful host. Lovely mornings having coffee in rocking chairs on the porch. Lovely evenings on the porch listening to the birds and frogs and babbling brook. And it's close to town.

We absolutely loved staying at the Barons Creekside! So close to town and convenient -- which was a bonus after we had a big German beer garden bratwurst dinner in town - we were less than a minute to the cabins. Despite everything being "rustic looking" and very antiquey it was extremely clean and comfortable! Did not expect to find a big comfy king sized bed and a large jacuzzi tub inside the cabin! Very nice surprise! The grounds are absolutely beautiful! The atmosphere is very friendly and open - people sitting on their porches (on CUTE rocking chairs) and chatting with their neighbors about their travels... got to meet some very neat people! Also an unexpectedly great place for families to stay! My inlaws were in the cabin just across the creek from ours - with the bridges in between it was very easy - and just plain fun to cross the creek and visit back and forth! The cabins are adorable! Loved all the little touches that added so much character! Lots of neat things around the cabins: old antique wagon, hitching posts, wheel pump, we especially got a good laugh at the life-size cow sculptures with all the fun designs painted on them strategically grazing around the property! Just a few decor items we loved: the hand painted wardrobe chest, the stained glass window made from wine bottles, and the door knocker was an old cowboy spur! We loved our stay there and plan to stay there again next time we're in Texas!

I was pleasantly surprised at the accommodations. It was so warm and welcoming. I look forward to returning for some peace and quiet and the joy of sitting and looking at the beautiful surroundings.

No breakfast but outstanding rustic cabins. Private rustic cabin gets you the back to nature feel but amenities were high end. Big porch with big rocking chairs. The attention to detail was the best I have seen. Proximity to town was also excellent.

We could not have been more pleased with Baron's Creekside. The grounds were very well maintained, and the entire place was absolutely charming. Daniel's attention to detail in decorating our cabin was just astounding. We stayed in the new Rhine Falls cabin, and it was even more beautiful than the pictures we had seen. We met Daniel during our stay and he was a very interesting and friendly person. He has created a wonderful and beautifully charming place that we will visit again. Our stay at the cabin was one of the highlights of our entire trip. The evenings on the front porch were just so relaxing. We did not want to leave. Thanks Daniel.

Barons CreekSide is fantastic. It is a place to go to get away from reality for a while. If you love peaceful country living this is the place to go. The land and all the cabins are kept up so neatly and the whole place is just serene. From the time the sun rises to when the sun sets you can't keep your eyes from wondering all around. When you hear the blissful sound of the waterfall you just want to kick back, close your eyes and get lost in the moment. I will never forget my stay at Barrons CreekSide because it was where my love proposed to me, of course I said YES!!! This place will always have a place in our hearts and memory.

We absolutely cannot find the words to TRULY express our amazement, awe, love and appreciation for this little slice of heaven on earth known as Barons Creekside. From the gorgeous landscape to friendly wildlife to every last divine detail inside/outside each cabin, this place did NOT disappoint!! It felt like we were truly on the otherside of the world for a few days and we came back happier and more relaxed than ever!! We are already looking at our calendars to plan our next "escape". THANK YOU!!!! Fondly, Heather and James aka "The Dillingers"

Our resent trip to Fredericksburg was fantastic from start to finish. We stayed in the Rhine Falls cabin on the Barons Creek Side property and now know we will not stay any were else when we come back. Daniel, the owner brought a little part of Switzerland to Fredericksburg. The cabins are fantastic and are built and detailed from material removed from old houses in Switzerland. Every cabin each has its own theme and own story. We loved the outside porch on our cabin and the big rocking chairs which are awesome after a long day of shopping. They are the perfect spot to hang out and look at the stars, visit with friends or gaze at an open fire in the fire pit. The waterfall running into the stream next to our cabin was so relaxing and I loved to watch the ducks play in the water beneath it. When your outside you will most likely see Daniel who will make sure that you have everything you need. We love you Daniel for having that vision 5 years ago and making it into reality. We will be back soon! Warren and Monika

This is our second time back. The rooms are nicely decorated and furnished. They have a refrig, coffee pot, microwave, stove and an outside grill, therefore not requiring dining on-site. The only draw back on the room is that it is a queen size bed, which after a long bike ride seems to be more like a full-size! The owner, Daniel is very friendly and you will see him around the site often riding his "Charlie"! He is a very nice guy and makes you feel very welcome. I do wish there were a key drop box on-site, but the 1 mile drive to drop it off is not too bad either! See ya next year Daniel!

My husband and I spent Mother's Day weekend in the Geneva Log Cabin. It was extremely cozy and very romantic. Daniel, the proprieter of Barons Creekside, has really focused on the details in the cabins and on the property. Great to have a refrigerator and microwave in our unit. We had a very relaxing stay and enjoyed sitting out on the porch in our rocking chairs in the evening breeze. We will definitely return!

We really appriciated every detailed works / arts created by Daniel (the owner) in this property. This is a great place for a relaxe and romantic vacation. We will plan to come back again for a longer stay in future.

We are a senior living property in North Richland Hills, Tx. I'm an activity director and I wanted to plan a trip away for a couple of days to Fredericksburg. I'm glad I did and I'm really glad I found Barron's Creekside for us to stay in instead of a hotel or bed and breakfast in town. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a place away from home. They are fully stocked cabins with everything in them. We grilled burgers, made smores. My residents loved the place. It's real close to downtown and we went to the Admiral Nimintz Museum and many nice little shops for shopping. The owner is right there on the property and is very helpful and a great guy. Thank you for everything, IT WAS A BLAST!!! Linda Hamilton Activity Director Franklin Park Hometown

came from out of state to do the "cheesy tourist thing" San Antonio was what we expected and then Fredericksburg was better. Barons was a breath of fresh air. A relaxing retreat and change of pace from the shopping nonsense. We will definitely stay again.

We always stay in the same cabin by the waterfall. All the local animals, (ducks, cats, and occasionally the dog) come by to greet us each visit. The cabin is cozy, well furnished, and totally relaxing for us. We are on the road all the time with our job, so we enjoy cooking out at the cabin, having our evening wine and drinking our morning coffee in the big rocking chairs, while we listen to the falling water next to our cabin.

This was our third visit to Barons Creekside in less than a year. We love the rustic yet comfortable accomodations. The deck on the west side of the Sunset Chalet is our favorite hangout in the mornings and evenings. This visit just after I'd wondered why we hadn't seen any wild animals since this cabin skirts the undeveloped area by the creek, a wild turkey appeared and stutted by. If you want civilization, it's less than 5 minutes away. If you want to feel like you're in the country, you're in the right spot. The property is beautifully developed and Daniel is a most gracious host, welcoming each guest as they arrive, and seeing them off on their departure day. We've already made reservations for the fall and look forward to our return.

Just when I needed a place to get away and re energize, I found Barons CreekSide. Was perfect timing. Perfect weather. Watching the deer eat in the morning, taking a walk through the creek in the very early morning hours. There is no prescription for moments like this in life. I was blessed in finding them. Was all I desired. N.B.

As always, the Barons Creekside Swiss Cabin Geneva was delightful. Very relaxing, perfect weather and quiet setting. We really enjoyed watching the thunderstorm roll in while sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch drinking some Woodrose Winery "Summer Breeze". A perfect weekend getaway.

This was our 26th anniversary and we picked the perfect place to stay. We arrived late to Barons Creekside and were amazed at the scenic view. The cabin was warm and cozy and quiet. The owner Daniel made a point to say hello the following day and we chatted for a while. We were impressed by his friendliness and concern with our satisfaction regarding our accomodations. We would recommend this location to anyone and everyone. This was our first time at this location (as we have stayed at other resorts) and it by far surpasses all others we have stayed at. We will definitly be back every year. Thanks Daniel,

Stayed at one of the Swiss log cabins - Zermatt for 2 nights and had a wonderful and restful time with my husband. The cabin itself was rustic with all the modern comforts and conveniences; tastefully and meticulously built and decorated. The location could not have been more perfect - just a few minutes from Main St. (unique shops and restaurants), Wal Mart and HEB (grocery store), yet secluded, peaceful and quiet. Daniel, the owner, lives on the property and is readily available for anything you might need. He is very friendly and knowledgeable about the area. Barons CreekSide is not a true Bed and Breakfast in that, breakfast is not included in the amenities, but I went ahead and rated it a 5/5 for Dining because of the ease and convenience of being able to prepare dinner in the premises. The cabin with stayed at was stocked with coffee, tea and orange juice. The kitchen has a small fridge, microwave, coffee maker and toaster oven. There is also a charcoal barbecue outside and you'll have everything you would need to throw a quick romantic char-grilled steak dinner for two - charcoal, BBQ utensils, dinnerware, silverware and stemware. I highly recommend Barons CreekSide and will definitely stay there when I visit Fredericksburg again!

Even though this little "village" is right in the town of Fredericksburg, it feels like you are miles away from the city in a rustic mountain settlement. The main lodge where we stayed was roomy, clean, and decorated with authentic antiques and European items- even down to the Swiss sugar cubes! Daniel, the owner, is super friendly and will do anything to accommodate. We definitely plan to return and try out one of the cabins. Definitely made our trip more memorable.

I needed a full-fledged place (not a hotel) for my 6-member family on a Spring trip to Fredericksburg. Most cute, lodge-y places I found online were B&B houses with room left only for 2 or 4 of us (our trip was for Spring Break). Finally I reached out to 1st Class Reservations in Fredericksburg, and they saved me. Along with a couple of other options, the rep recommended the 3-bedroom, 2-story Lodge at Barons CreekSide, which is the largest place (it's a house) on the property. Reviews from B&B.com and TripAdvisor raved about Barons CreekSide, which is what influenced my decision to book the Lodge. Those reviews ended up being absolutely correct. Scenery, hiking, relaxation, an outdoor bonfire pit, fishing hole on Barons Creek, a duck pond and friendly cats, gazebo, front and back porches, a second-story terrace, complimentary firewood for the fireplace, (owner) Daniel's special touches from his home country of Switzerland ... It was the perfect choice for our family getaway. The Lodge is one of several different types and sizes of cabins on the property, which Daniel built to resemble a Swiss village. One of the best things about this property is that while you feel as though you're out in the country, it's barely a 5 minute drive from all the Main Street action in town. I highly recommend either the Lodge or one of the smaller, even cuter cabins on the property. Details: We were ages 35-75. 1 big suite downstairs + 2 bedrooms upstairs. One bedroom upstairs has 2 twin beds, but my husband and I just pushed them together for a relatively comfortable workaround. The big living room includes a fireplace and TV w/ cable (no DVD player). Full kitchen has everything you'd need. Daniel supplies oranges juice and coffee + tea, but note that no breakfast is served. We went to Walmart nearby and stocked up on snacks. There are many places to eat breakfast in town. Daniel will also suggest places to eat and hear live music if you ask him.

We stayed with two kids and two adults in the Baron's Cabin and had a great time.It is so close to town, but yet it is really nice to get away from it all back to the cabin. We fished, sat by the fire at night, watched the ducks and had a great trip. Daniel is a fantastic host.

When we arrived at Barons Creekside we were so happy. The pictures we saw online did not do justice. Don't get me wrong the pictures are great, but there is no way to capture the beauty and tranquility of this place. We were so mesmerized that we decided to not go into to Fredricksburg. We got some steaks grilled out and explored the place. I recommend this to anyone wanting to get away from it all. It is like being way out in the country, but the town and anything you might need is right around the corner. Daniel the owner and his wife are extremely warm and friendly and greeted us shortly after we arrived. it is refreshing to see what someone can do with a vision to turn it into a reality. We will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed ourselves, so peaceful. There was too much light in the cabin. The bathroom window and window above the chimney let in too much light. I was a little disappointed that there was no cook stove in the cabin. Other than that, Daniel and his wife are so nice, the cabin is close enough to town, we had a wonderful time and plan on coming back

My Girlfriend and I stayed at Barons Creekside for Valentines day... Nothing short of amazing. The staff was friendly and Daniel is very hospitable. Upon arriving back from our vacation all we wanted to do was go back. We're already planning our next trip back to Barons Creekside. Although there is no dining on site there are endless possibilities for amazing food there in the city. We had Valentines dinner at Cabernet Grill and if you have any questions as to what to eat on the menu or where to eat simply ask Daniel. His recommendation at Cabernet Grill for an appetizer was spot on and nothing short of amazing!!! Sam & Teresa (San Antonio, Tx)

Just staying on the property is a complete vacation. Lost of relaxing little places - front porch of the cabins, fire pit, creek, ponds, shade trees. Cabins are like stepping into the Swiss Alps 100 years ago, and perfectly kept. There is no room service or dining on site, so it's like the cabin is your own little home. The property owner, Daniel, was very welcoming and helpful. Very romantic!

Barons Creekside is an excellent place to take a group! There were eleven of us, plus one dog. We were able to stay close together, using the Lodge, the Victorian and the Baron's cabin. The Lodge was ideal for gathering as a group, and fixing meals. We enjoyed walking the grounds and soaking up the beautiful space. It is obvious that a lot of consideration and planning went into the place. Such as the layout of the buildings and the ponds, as well as little touches, like the decorations in each home. Everyone in our group would highly recommend a group retreat to Baron's Creekside!

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Barons Creekside. After checking in at the reservation and making our way back to our fancy cabin the owner, Daniel, came over to greet us. He knew all about where we could go in town, suggested we go explore the beautiful property, and told us how to get ahold of him if we needed anything. We were so close to town, but we felt like we were well out in the country. The cotteges that Daniel and his crew built are so nice and have all the amenities that you'd need.

Took my entire family to this B&B (which is really more like a resort) this past weekend, and can say it was truly great. I think perhaps the prices could be a bit better, especially in the off-season, but, I understand that this is the owners priority. Our farmhouse and the property itself were quaint but welcoming. The property is definitely big enough for a nice stroll, and there is plenty to look at and explore along the way.

Rustic and romantic, this is the place to stay to enjoy the Texas Hill country with a special touch of luxury. The Swiss log cabin(s)--delightful! And Daniel is a gracious and attentive host without being intrusive. Once you have been there, you will want to experience it in all of its seasons. My fiancee and I lost track of time swinging on the double swing in a chilly morning mist, talking about everything and nothing much at all. It's that kind of place.

My wife and I stayed here at Baron's Creekside for three nights in the Baron's Log Cabin. It was very nice and well appointed. The antiques and fixtures in the cabin were interesting. We stayed the few days leading up until Christmas and ventured into town each day to eat and look around. It is very close to town. We used the wood fireplace each night and it was very comforting. It doesn't radiate much heat but the cabin has central air and heat, so no worries! The few things to fix maybe? I was worried about damaging the wood dresser sink by accidentally splashing water on it, so I kept wiping up the smallest drips after washing my face. The bathroom sink drained a little slow but the toilet flushed very well, industrially well! The cabinets have simple wooden stops rather than knobs, these could be replaced. I'd say the only real complaint we had was that we kept tracking in stickers in the cabin after hiking around the property so it is advisable to take your shoes off when you enter. Overall the property was very well maintained, unique, and the staff and owner were very friendly. I liked that no maid visited the cabin for our stay so it was like it was our own little cabin retreat. I'd recommend visiting here if you ever get the chance!

We think locks should be installed on the bathroom that's between the two bedrooms. And on the website the aerial view that's on there really makes the houses look like they are further apart than they really are. We mainly only spent the evenings at the house so can't be too critical since we weren't there that much. But when we were there we all had a great time!
Thanks a lot for your review. I am very pleased that you had a great time here. In regards to locks between bedrooms / bathroom: Since the Victorian is always exclusively rented to one party / family like for your party, that this is the reason why this suggestions has never been brought up before. If I can find historic Victorian locks I will certainly refit the doors to make your next stay even more enjoyable Yours Daniel

We brought in both sides of our family for a lovely, pre-xmas weekend. It was FANTASTIC! Daniel was a super host and explained all the buildings and history to us. Our family shared several different buildings, but socialized at the Lodge for dinner and xmas party!! What a great time we had. All facilities were immaculate upon arrival and the ambiance of the entire setting made you forget all about the rest of the world. Shopping and stores were minutes away, yet the seclusion of Baron's was remarkable. At night you could walk around and hear the sounds of the animals, or sit by an open air firepit, or just swing under a canopy of stars that seemed so close you could touch them. Our facilities were warm and cozy and heated by the fireplace, with every amenity we could want from complete kitchen facilities to open patio areas with bar-b-que! It was such a wonderful weekend, we immediately booked it for next year too!! Barons Creekside was a step back into history and a place we hope to make a family tradition. Thank you Daniel for a wonderful time!!

The outdoor areas, especially around the fire pit, are wonderful. I also love that the fire pit is gas so you don't get smoked out, what a great idea!!!

Celebrated my wife's birthday. Our stay was private and relaxing. Daniel was available whenever needed and was extrenely helpful with choices to see and places to eat in fredericksburg. Will definently stay again and recommend Barons CreekSide to our friends.

My wife and I came out for our 15 year anniversary. We stayed in one of the Swiss Log Cabins and it was fantastic - modern, yet rustic. We were convenient to Main Street yet felt as though we were way out in the country. I would highly recommend Barons Creekside to anyone. We will certainly stay there again.

This was our 4th stay at Barons Creekside. We stayed in the Zematt Swiss Cabin and it is just as nice as the others we have stayed in. Daniel is the most hospitable host/owner you will ever meet. We met his new Ducklings and even got to name one, Freddy we'll see you soon! If you're looking for that getaway weekend in Fredericksburg. You HAVE to stay at Barons Creekside. You'll feel like you're miles away from everything but it's just a 5 minute drive to downtown FB.

If you want a quiet, calming experience, then head to Barons CreekSide for some R&R. You want to do some shopping or eat out? The main street of Fredricksburg is really less than 5 minutes away. Daniel, the owner, is delightful, and his grounds are lovely.

We had a wonderful stay. Daniel was a very nice host who ensured our stay was just perfect. We had Massage Connections come to our cabin for a couples massage which was a great way to start the weekend. Would recommend them as well.

Attention to every detail means a lot. It means that someone has put themselves in the place of the guest to make decisions. It means that everywhere you look there is something planned to make your stay richer and more complete. I can't say enough about what Daniel has done with the cabins, the setting, and the ambience to make this an incredible place to getaway.

Wow! I am a seasoned traveler but can be happy anywhere I stay but this is the ONLY place I will stay WHEN I come back to Fredricksburg. Gorgeous grounds, and beautiful, well kept cabins. Whether you're with a friend or that someone special, you will not be disappointed. The environment is peaceful and away from it all but literally takes three minutes to be in the heart of Fredricksburg. My favorite part was drinking coffee on the deck and seeing a doe nearby and sitting in front of the Chiminea with a glass of wine at night.

We spent a weekend in the lodge celebrating Grandma's birthday - our family of seven - five adults and two children. It was perfect for us - large areas to be together and privacy for sleeping. The lodge was very comfortable. We felt "at home" there and had a fantastic time. The children (and some of the adults) loved roaming the property and feeding Punky the duck. We plan on returning next year. (The "3" rating for dining is because coffee, tea and juice were provided as expected.)

Illness and family extended stay changed our honeymoon plans ...and are we glad it did! A search engine introduced us to Baron's creekside. We discovered a peacefull, romantic experience with a comfortable king-sized bed, a stocked kichenette and a fireplace I wish we could of used! We had just enough privacy to feel as though we were the only ones on Daniel's beautiful property. The hub of Fredericksburg is less than 2 miles away and the local HEB had perfect steaks for us to grill outside! Can't wait till our anniversary!

My wife and I spent our anniversary here in December of 2009. The log cabins were perfect, rustic and raw yet with modern amenities and conveniences. We built a fire every night and took full advantage of the mood it set. We both were able to decompress and left feeling recharged.

My husband and I had a wonderful time, although the time was short, it was nice to be able to go on a Friday evening. It was quite and peaceful. I would have liked a better access to outside. The room we were in was the Master Jacuzzi (which was awesome by the way) and there was no private porch. We had to go out into the hall and out the front door. It was a wonderful room though and really much more than we anticipated. The creek was an enjoyable atmosphere. I read my book and enjoyed the running water. The only other thing was there was no food provided at all. It would have been nice to have a bag of popcorn or something in the room to munch on.

My family stayed for 4th of July at Baron's, it's an absolutely magical place, as a couple it was romantic, and it was paradise for our 5 year old son and our dog was even at home. Thanks! definitely coming back.

Rooms were spacious and private. Beautifully decorated with antiques and many small touches. We want to go back with a larger family group. Loved all the space around the individual cabins and Swiss chalet concept.

We just had a Family Reunion at Barons Creekside and it was the PERFECT place to have it. We met there from all over Texas, knowing that Frederickburg had so much to offer. What we did NOT realize was that we never wanted leave the wonderful facilities! We all had our privacy, had porches to gather on for morning coffee and evening visits, and even one of our kids called it "Paradise!". The place was spotless, everything in proper condition, and completed the perfect memories we made! It was like going on vacation and being welcomed HOME when we got there. We alll agree that we will return over and over! The Dowling and McDaniel Families

Took my wife to Barons CreekSide for a quick two night getaway. Had never been there before. If you are looking for a place where you can have a romantic, albeit rustic, getaway...look no further. Only a few blocks off of Main Street in Fredericksburg, it was extremely easy to find and still well off of the beaten path. We rarely saw anyone on the grounds, and arrived to find a key in the lock on the door. Never saw anyone connected to the lodge...which was nice. Very rustic, very well kept log cabins where we stayed (Geneva). Extremely clean inside and well stocked. Great layout and very creative use of materials. If you are looking for a Four Seasons type of room, this isn't your place. But if you want a romantic cabin set in a beautiful setting where you can relax and read a book on a porch and watch the sunset, this is the place. We will definately return.

We made a last minute decision to go to Fredericksburg for a weekend and found the website for Barons Creekside. We contacted the owner for last minute reservations. Fortunately, he had a cancellation and we were lucky to find a cabin available. We were surprised by the quaint village he has established. The cabins are very unique and comfortable. You get the feelling that you have escaped to a small European village. Upon arrival, we were personally greeted by the owner. You can tell he loves what he is doing and loves people. We enjoyed our stay and will return again. I know he will have built even more individual cabins that are one of a kind. Thank you Daniel for sharing your world with us.

My parents traveled from WI and stayed at Barons Creekside for three weeks. We couldn’t have picked a better place for them to enjoy the Texas Hill Country. My daughter and I live in San Antonio and were fortunate to be able to spend a lot of time with them. The property is absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed walking along the stream listening to the water and looking at all of the wildflowers starting to bloom. A highlight was definitely our daily visits from Molly the duck! My parents stayed in the Farmhouse which is charmingly rustic yet still has all the comforts of home. It was a pleasure meeting Barons Creekside owner Daniel. He was very welcoming and often met up with us on our long walks. We loved learning about the history of Barons Creekside and were amazed at the thought and detail that went into building each cabin. Truly a wonderful experience! My parents will definitely be back next year!

My husband and I chose Fredericksburg for our honeymoon because we wanted a nice, quiet setting of the Texas Hill Country for a romantic get-away. Baron's Creekside exceeded way above and beyond what we could have hoped for! Daniel (the owner) was the most gracious and attentive host, and the beautiful, quaint surrounding... most inside and outside of the cabin... were exactly what we could have imagined and more for our honeymoon. The attention to detail is what sets this B&B apart. Thank you! Lisa Coles League City, Texas

We have stayed in many bed and breakfasts and this was our favorite. First off, the place is beautiful. The creek running through the property is beautiful and peacful. We loved sitting on on front porch listening to the water and watching the ducks. There is also a little trail to walk around the property that is nice. Next, the accomodations are excellent and romantic, the cabins are so rustic on the outside and inside, but also have many modern amenities. We loved that they supplied us with fire wood and fire starter so we could sit by the fire at night and relax. The bed and all of the furniture was also very comfortable and my wife loved all of the swiss anitques. Finally, the service was great; Daniel, the owner, personally came and greeted us on our first night and he made him self available through our stay. The only downside, is they do not serve breakfast, but you are so close to town (3 minute drive; literally) that it does not matter. There are many great eateries around Fredricksburg as well. Our personal favorite was the Alamaso Springs Cafe where we had the best burger of our life. We will definitely go back!

My husband and I stay in the Baron's Log Cabin in the winter and in the Geneva in the Spring. We love how Daniel welcomes us "home" when we get there. The grounds are beautiful, and Daniel tries to ensure your every need is met. It is our favorite weekend getaway. (We have also found wonderful places to eat, thanks to Daniel's recommendations.)

My girlfriend and I came to visit Daniel at his Barons Creekside a couple of weeks ago. having stayed at Bed and Breakfasts before, one never knows what they will be getting and at Barons Creekside, our expectations were very much exceeded :)! The cabins were well kept, beautiful inside and out, and the feel of the countryside was incredibly peaceful and serene. There were lots of cats, ducks, miniature horses and wildlife to look at while rocking in comfortable rocking chairs on the porches and drinking coffee :)! Daniel took extra time in talking with me before making the decision to stay there and I want to thank Daniel for his hospitality and for providing such a beautiful place for my girlfriend and i to visit, we WILL be back!

My wife and I spent a weekend in the Zermatt log cabin. The cabin was rustic, but very comfortable, with central heating and AC, a large fireplace, a corner jacuzzi tub & shower, and a small kitchen. Barons doesn't provide breakfast, but there was orange juice, coffee, and tea in the cabin. There is plenty of good dining in Fredericksburg. The grounds were beautifully maintained. There is a small creek that runs behind the cabins through some ornamental ponds into Baron's creek. The owners are on-site eight months out of the year. Daniel greeted us when we first arrived and also as we were leaving. He is very friendly and really wants everything to be perfect for his guests. It was a perfect weekend for us, and I'm we'll be back.

We had an amazing stay at the Lodge. The only complaint is that we didn't stay long enough. My daughter had such a great time at the creek with the ducks and in the swimming hole. She wants to go back for her birthday and bring some friends. It was such a relaxing weekend. I loved hearing the roosters crow in the morning! I can't wait to go again!! Thanks Daniel!!

When we chose the Hilltop Chalet at Baron's CreekSide for our "surprise" 50th birthday weekend, we were initially looking for accomodations that would hold all eight of us and allow us to have fun without bothering other people. What we did not expect was the natural beauty of the place and that we would feel as if we had been on a vacation in Switzerland as well. The owner, Daniel Meyer, has created a Swiss village of log cabins, a chalet and lodge in Texas, and his hospitality and attention to detail made the weekend that much more special for us. The Chalet was perfect... rustic, cozy decor with all of the modern. It even had a fully-equiped kitchen that allowed us to cook a couple of meals and thus, save a few bucks on eating out. It was a great experience, and we are planning to return in a few months for another "girls' weekend".

Me and 9 girlfriends enjoyed a long weekend at the Lodge. It was beautiful. We never made it to town to shop because we enjoyed the Lodge, and swimming hole so much. We want to plan this yearly it was so much fun and we can't wait to go back.

My wife and I stayed in the Geneva Cabin to celebrate her 40th birthday. We travel frequently and sometimes get tired of hotel rooms. This was a terrific experience! Though we arrived late, our keys were waiting for us at the rental management office as promised. Lights were on at the cabin welcoming our arrival. The first thing to strike us was the craftsmanship of the cabin. The jacuzzi tub had gorgeous stone walls and the copper sink fixtures blended style with Swiss functionality. I think we could have spent our entire vacation sitting on the front porch of the cabin in the oversized rocking chairs. It was a blast just watching the interplay between resident ducks Punky and Valentino. Valentino is pretty protective of his girlfriend and follows her everywhere. The grounds were overflowing with wildflowers and my wife took nearly 400 photographs. And the waterfall always provided a soothing backdrop of sound. The owner, Daniel, stopped by to introduce himself and offer any assistance but then left us to our privacy the rest of the trip. The pride he has in his cabins and property is almost contagious. I saw him one day and told him he was working too hard. He replied, "This is not work for me. I love it!" And, I believe he truly does. I noticed some other folks had lower ratings for the dining. Well, there is no dining at the lodge, so I can understand that. But, the dining in Fredericksburg is outstanding. We ate at 7 restaurants in town and were pleased with each one. And, they were all just a two-minute ride from the cabin. Also, I'll add this just for convenience. There is a WalMart less than five minutes from the cabins. That came in very handy when my wife needed a few items for the trip. We will visit these cabins again.

We stayed here with my Parents (60's) and my wife and boys (7 and 9). The first night my parents weren't in town yet, so we stayed at the Mesquite Farmhouse. I can't say enough - it was absolutely beautiful. It's 2 bedrooms, and a wonderful living space, and quietly located in the back of the property. The owner Daniel stopped by to make sure we were ok, not intrusive at all, but a great guy, and super nice! The second through 6th night we stayed in the Lodge - and got the Master Suite also for my parents. This is a beautiful house, and I mean it! Clean, more modern, and absolutely beautiful. The boys would be in the living room watching TV in the evenings, and we would be able to catch up with my parents in one of the other rooms, and not have any issues with overflow of noise from room to room. The boys loved to be able to check out the property also. Fishing, and checking out the fish in the stocked pond. There is plenty of yard to play in, and places to sit in the sun if you like, or get into the shade. I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was, and how nice Daniel and his wife were. We ran into them at Hondo's also and truly enjoyed our stay, and the new friends we met. I can't give more than 5 stars, but this place was wonderful, and the owners went out of their way to make sure we had what we needed, and knew where the hotspots were to check out.

We spent three nights in the famous Swiss Log Cabin along the creek. This is the most romantic AND luxurious cabin in the msot beautiful setting. And only two minutes from Main Street, but super quiet at the same time. We already made our reservation for next year as Barons CreekSide is always fully booked on the weekends.

We stayed in the Baron's Log Cabin. If you're looking for quiet, privacy and to be surrounded by nature, this is the best!! We were lucky enough to meet the owner and what a super friendly nice man. I can't say how much we enjoyed our stay. We will return, without question!
