The folks there are friendly and very accommodating, the room was lovely, and the surroundings are relaxing. We enjoyed watching the animals, including a cat that accompanied us on our self-guided tour of the resort. This was great for a relaxing weekend.

Easily 5 stars all around! My daughter and I had a great time. This was a perfect place for some special mother/daughter bonding. She loved the swing and I enjoyed having a beautiful, peaceful spot to spend some quality time with my little girl! I've already recommended MD Resort to family and colleagues. Looking forward to coming back soon with my husband!

I needed a place that would hold 50 family members, have a meeting area, and not have to go out and find a place to eat. MD Resort fit the bill. I had not seen MD Resort, until the evening we arrived and I was not disappointed. The staff were exceptional. Very friendly and willing to help or answer any questions that we may have had. The meeting room was perfect for us to have our gatherings and family meals. Kudos for a job well done!

This rustic Texas style efficiency apartment is great for a couple, family or small retreat (larger retreat areas available) Features two queen beds, a Queen futon sofa bed and a small kitchen and bath which are just enough for the ranch hands to get by. Very private apartment where you can relax and enjoy the many amenities of our guest ranch. The Cowboy Quarter guests may add breakfast for $10pp. If your group is larger ask us about the bunkhouse next door and/or the Ranch House around the corner.

Attached meeting room is available for $100 per night. *Meals may be added for $10pp.

My wife and I recently stayed at MD Resort which we have many times over the past 5 years. Its just what we needed, relaxing! The terrific hospitality just keeps us coming back. We have also had two of our family reunions there and everyone loves it. Its our favorite vacation spot and feel like its our home away from home.

by Diana 09/24/2011 We took a vacation from South Dakota for a family members wedding, and MD Resort opened their doors to us like we were family!! They were the most friendliest Texans I ever met! The Ranch is so clean and so Beautiful! It was the most relaxing place I have spent time at in years! I was able to sit on the front porch and just soak in the warm Texas weather! Their breakfast was amazing and always had something new to try! Their room service and staff just blew our minds! We will for sure be back there soon! And if you need a get a way I recommended this place time and time again! It was worth the 19 hour drive and more! Thank you MD Resort for giving me and my family the best family vacation we have ever had!!!

MD Resort was a refreshing change from the box hotel where all you get is a room. We enjoyed the country air, animals, old fashioned fun with a scavenger hunt which was way more fun than I anticipated, amazing hospitality where the staff actually cared and we never felt like a number. The food was terrific and our room was uniquely decorated. We had the most relaxing and refreshing vacation getaway EVER! We will be back soon and planning our family reunion there as well!

We made a reservation at MD Resort for our classmates' reunion solely based on the 4+ star rating on a couple of websites. We were in for several (unpleasant) surprises as soon as we got there. Here's what they claim and what's actually there: Pool: Not sufficient for more than 10 people at a time Volley Ball: Just a net installed on grass Talk to the Animals: There are some donkeys and buffaloes there and they said that we need to go and "talk" to them Gazing at the Sky: What can I say! Massage: You pay $50 for a massage that YOU give to your better half!!! DO NOTHING: That's exactly what we did there!! There was nothing to do there!! We were 8 people and we were given a room with just 1 restroom (1 tub, 1 commode and 1 wash basin, all in the same one)!! We had to wait for the others to finish their work before we got our turn. Absolutely ridiculous!!! They did not even have enough beds for us to sleep. A couple of us had to sleep on the floor. Breakfast is only between 9 and 10 AM, and by the time we woke up, the kitchen was all wrapped up and clean. On top of it all, the bill for 1 night was close to $400, for doing NOTHING at the so called "resort". I would RUN away from it.
