we love alla's this is the best b&b ever!!! it is a little piece of heaven on earth and the food is beyond great!!!

My boyfriend and I went here as he surprised me for my 30th birthday. Of course, we fell in love with stories of the house and stared at all of the old gadgets. The thing that holds it apart from everywhere else is the gratitude and service from Rick and Alla. They are splendid and make you feel as if you are visiting home. Alla is a wonderful cook and host! Late one night when we had our meals already there was a new couple we came to greet. She quickly got out some plain ole potato chips and waffle cookies for us so we would not feel left out! We cannot wait to return. The beds are so soft, the environment is so inviting and the hosts are stellar.

I travel all over America for work & stay in B &Bs & Inns often; Alla's is by far the best experience I've ever had. If you are into natural, homemade cooking, then THE FOOD is the highlight. From her homemade mulberry jam (straight from her mulberry tree) to her homemade yogurt, grown from imported Bulgarian cultures, there's no end to the culinary surprises. Every morning we were served sumptuous crepes with homemade sweet cheese, huge, juicy pieces of ham or bacon; the potatoes were prepared differently every day -- pancakes, croquettes, diced with vegetables and spices. I requested a small side of oatmeal & to my delight, Alla made the best oatmeal I'd ever tasted -- slow cooking, steel cut on "non-pasturized" milk with her magic jams. The next day she treated me with her special "millet" imported from Ukraine & the last day was 2.5 hours, slow cooked rice pudding with different nuts and spices I cannot remember as I thought I'd died & gone to heaven. Advice: book a dinner with Alla, but give her a minimum of 1.5 days in advance as she goes to the market & buys everything fresh and takes HOURS to cook the meat. YUMMMMMMM.... The antique wonderland is just the background setting for the best home cooking in Texas!

We stayed at Alla's for New Year's Eve and had the best time!! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcome and relaxed. Alla told us the history of the house and showed us her and Rick's lovely, unique antiques. We especially loved the beautiful music box in the dining room. We sat in the kitchen after a tour of the house and had a delicious homemade snack and a glass of wine as we visited with these charming innkeepers. We loved our room, enjoyed relaxing in the hot tub while sipping wine and eating chocolates, and relished the ambiance of the inviting living area. We were greeted the next morning with the most delicious, organic homemade breakfast! Alla made the most fantastic crepes, potatoes, and eggs all from scratch. The coffee was imported from Europe and served in an antique coffee warmer. A beautiful platter of fruit and homemade jams were in the center of the table. The meal was truly an Epicurean delight! Alla and Rick are delightful and engaging hosts. We definitely plan to return to this exceptional bed and breakfast!!

Stayed at Alla's for my wife's birthday. Alla and Rick were very welcoming. It was our best B&B stay so far. I wish we lived next them. After one stay it felt like we were friends. The place has great antiques from the plumbing fixtures to the tv's to the beautiful beds. Okay, now I'll get down to the food. We were served wonderful horsdouvres(spelling?) upon a late evening arrival. I wish I could make bread, cheese, and tomatoes taste half that good. Then, there was the breakfast served at our desired late morning hour. As the web site says, the European breakfast was all organic. I can't comment on the large plate of perfectly presented fresh looking fruit because there just wasn't room in my big belly for it after plate fulls of potatoes, crepes, and bacon. I had to try each of the home made jams after sampling the first on a crepe. The fantastic potatoes made me think I was indulging myself with excess salt. Later, our discussion led Alla to say that her fresh mix of herbs(perfect by the way) makes it unnecessary to use much salt. I hope we get back to Texas and can eat dinner one night

I chose Alla's Historical Bed & Breakfast as a surprise birthday gift for my husband after reading the many fantastic reviews. We love old homes and antiques, so we very much enjoyed Alla's tour and demonstrations of the many antique items and fixtures in this charming home. Our room was comfortable and cozy. It was a special treat to have the entire house to ourselves to explore, and we would definitely recommend reserving the home when schedules allow. Alla has a fantastic personality- we enjoyed visiting with her so much! She spoiled us and made us feel that we had made a new friend, and her cooking. . . WOW! We had the organic deluxe breakfast for my husband's birthday morning- we both think it was the most delicious breakfast we had ever eaten! The cost was very reasonable and we are already recommending Alla's to family and friends. We will definitely stay again and most likely order dinner there also on our next stay.

We were on a one-week visit to Dallas and decided we wanted to try something different for part of our visit. Although we ended up missing our first night (the day before Thanksgiving, we got caught in traffic and didn't make it there), we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Alla's. I can most definitely say that I have never been received at the door with a huge hug at any hotel I have been in but Alla not only did that but made us feel like we deserved one. We were made to feel welcome, the house itself was amazing and the breakfast wonderful!!! Alla's enthusiasm is so wonderful--we both felt that we were long lost friends who had finally come home!!!!

Nice house, beautiful antiques, friendly hosts. That's the good, we wanted to get in and relax, we did not plan on an hour long introduction and long, long list of rules and instructions on everything! We are also dissapointed in the fact that we had to pay extra for breakfast, I thought this was a B&B? We also had to pay to use the hot tub, each time we wanted to use it! Both in the evening when we arrived, then in the morning we went to use it again and found a padlock on it. So it's not the great deal it appears! We are in our mid 50's, just wanted a place to relax and enjoy a hot tub, too much stress at this one, we won't be going back. Ciao.

We are sorry that there were some things during your stay that made your experience less than your expectations and that you felt like you could not relax back in November. We told you personally on the phone that use of the hot tub in our private cabana was an additional charge (of which I gave you a discount of $10.00 that day)for an hour, which is generous. Even in the morning you both used it a second time without paying and apparently you were not satisfied. Also, you felt like that breakfast should be included in the room price as well. You were also told on the phone before you had even made the same day reservation that the three sizes and types of breakfasts were extra and had to be chosen. We offer great value with a chance for all guests to customize their stay with the lowest rates in the entire area. I also know that on the evening of your scheduled arrival, and after ordering all ingredients for your breakfast, you attempted to cancel your reservation. Only after being told that you would forfeit the full room price for same day cancellation as arrival, did you decide to go ahead and come on. I realize that even this put us on a bad footing, but our cancellation policy is also clearly stated on our website as well. The food was bought exclusively for your enjoyment. You were told all of our policies and rules before you decided to book your room. I don’t know what else we could have done to be pleasing.

My wife Sarah wanted to get away for our wedding anniversary. I thought a four star hotel, but she was set on a bed and breakfast. I have never been to one, but I trusted her judgement...and she chose Alla's. At first I thought "How can this be better than some of the high end hotels in the Dallas/Fort Worth area?" But when I got there I understood. Alla greets you with a warm smile and a hug that shows she is happy that you, not your money, is there. She shows you the historic house and antiques she collected as she paints such a rich texture of detail that takes you back to a lost place in time. Then she shows you smiles, more smiles than I have ever seen, of happy and satisfied patrons in photo albums that reassures Sarah's decision was correct. After ensuring you are relaxed about your stay and eager to enjoy your stay, she lets you set into your own world for the night. Offering her spa/cabana gave my wife and I a chance to fall in love all over again as we relaxed before setting in to such comfort I have never seen outside of my own personal bed. The next morning, Alla was there cooking food that left Sarah and I wanting more. After eating our fill, we enjoyed the laughter and friendship that was so easily built with our hostess. I once stayed at a hotel in Charlotte, NC for six weeks due to a child's medical needs while I was in the Marine Corps. It took three weeks for me to achieve a sense of familiarity and feeling of comfort I received within the first few minutes of walking into Alla's. If you are ever going to the Dallas/Fort Worth area you would regret not staying at Alla's Bed and Breakfast, at least for one night. And if you don't believe me, I would be happy to meet you at her place for breakfast to discuss it. Her organic cooking is reason enough alone to stay!!

Step back into time at this B&B with her magic time machine. Like unto a living museum, her home speaks volumes about history and some of her antiques have volume too. How remarkable it was to touch and witness a home filled with appliances and furnishings to help you understand how things used to be. Beyond this experience, Alla's true gift to warm hearts shines forth as she serves her organic food in her cozy kitchen. She knows how to welcome everyone and help them feel like long, lost family.

Staying at Alla's is not just a nice weekend get-away, it's an experience. The organic breakfast she serves is amazing, but don't write off her dinner. I have been twice and have had a different dish each time and they were both perfection. And her house, it's like a museum. I LOVE antiques and seeing all of the antiques really do take you back to a different time; even the lightbulbs in the fixtures are circa Eddison. While the food and the atmosphere is reason enough for you to go to Alla's, Alla herself is one of the top reasons for coming back. She loves her clients and she remembers them too, my husband and I were amazed to find out that she remembered us even after we hadn't seen her for a year and that was the first time we met! You really do walk in a stranger and depart as a friend.

We were in town for an event and were tired of staying in hotels so we tried Alla's Bed and Breakfast. We were greeted with such warmth and were able to check in confortably with ease. Alla's enthusiasm for life was really genuine and enthusiastic. Great location and felt like royalty there.

We stayed at this B&B after we were married on October 22nd. We arrived later that night and were welcomed outside with open arms. Alla and Rick were the greatest hosts. We were invited in and given drinks and hors d'oeuvres along with great conversation. You'll never meet two friendlier people than Alla and Rick. The bed was very comfortable. The house is a very old house and most everything in it is from the time period of the house. It is beautiful and we enjoyed very much staying here. The breakfast was fantastic and again, the conversation was the best. We cannot wait to come back here next year on our anniversary, if not before then. We already miss Alla and Rick.

Alla loves to host people, and it shows. Her breakfasts are prepared with care from fresh ingredients, and the results are delicious. You will get up from the table stuffed. The bed was very, very comfortable.

I was planning a evening getaway for me and my boyfriend. I happen to come across Alla's website and decided to get more information about her place. The first time I call Alla was nothing but wonderful and very helpful. When you arrive Alla and Rick meet you at the door and they truly make you feel like you at home. I will be going back again very soon.

The Alla's friendliness and hospitality are out of this world. We loved the amazing organic breakfast feast each morning the best. We will definitely recommend this place to anyone we know going to DFW. 5 STARS!

I decided to take some time to myself.. it was the only answer to a very busy week and more to come as I prepared to attend a conference in Irving Tx. I found Alla's Bed and Breakfast online.. i knew it would be perfect. I called to request a room for the following day. Rick was so helpful and assured me I would enjoy the peace and comfort of a lovely home. It was perfect! Alla welcomed me, prepared a wonderful itallian appetizer.. and a wonderful tour. Since I was traveling alone she made sure I felt comfortable and we had a wonderful visit! Oh and how i loved the basket of pecans ready to shell and eat on the lovely porch. And the amazing breakfast!.. This and more reminded me of my grandmothers house. My mission was to have time to myself, read, explore the lovely antiuqe mall and relax before I traveled on to the busy conference. This was the gift of time I was giving to myself! Mission was definatley accomplished! Thank you Alla and Rick for the gift of sharing your home and your generous spirit!

I decided to visit my first bed and breakfast a few weekends ago just to get away and have a weekend by myself away from friends and college work. I found Alla online and was blown away by the photos of her breakfast food and the fact that her food is organic. I decided to call her, and she was very pleasant over the phone. When I arrived she was extremely nice and open. She showed me around the place and showed me to my room; she also had a snack for me and much wine. The place was great: cute and genuine. And Alla was great. We talked all night and we ended up becoming friends. Alla's bed and breakfast is the whole experience! The next morning I had her organic breakfast for the first time and it was incredible. I know I will be back to visit Alla and have great conversations again, and have more of her amazing organic breakfast. I also loved the rooms which are so adorable and inviting. Alla's B7B is off the beaten path and is a wonderful place to go visit. My wife and I went for our wedding night but I would love to go back just to spend the evening when we reurn to the DFW area. Alla is a wonderful person and we will never forget the evening we spent there! She truly made it a very special night.

My husband and I love staying at Alla's Bed and Breakfast!! The service is wonderful...especially the huge breakfast she makes in the morning! Alla's B&B is such a relaxing and romantic place to stay. We live in the area but stay here just to get away from everything for a night. The hot tub, huge bed, wonderful breakfast, and lively Alla make us never want to leave! Highly recommended!!

Being at Alla's Bed & Breakfast is more like being with friends than staying in an ordinary B&B. Alla is very attentive to her guests every need. Even without asking for something she see's that you need it and gets it for you. Eating at Alla's is a one of a kind experience. Her cooking is superb! I have never had breakfast as good. Everything is organic and scratch made, even her yogurt. My mouth is watering now even as I write this. There is no way to describe the food you will eat here. You just have to taste it yourself. Alla will also make dinner for you. We are repeat guests to Alla's and every time we are treated to some amazing dish, from pasta to steak and everything in between... it is all wonderful!

I stay in B&Bs at least twice a month. I usually shoot for two things, the food and the experience. Alla and her husband do a great job at making you feel right at home! They are fun and carrying people; really, what more could you ask for? The breakfast was AWESOME! I'd recommend Alla's Historical B&B to anyone.

Highly recommend! Alla creates such a warm, relaxed, and welcome atmosphere that you don't want to ever leave. One good thing about when to leaving is knowing you have gained a friendship with Alla! Sweet sweet lady. She made us feel like we were thousands of miles away from the stress and cares of life and in some other country and we were only 45 miles away! Are room was fantastic ( the brown room)! Breakfast was out of this world! We WILL definitely be back many times and will recommend Alla's to everyone. A+++++ for above and beyond great service.

My husband and I came here for our 1st anniversary and we really enjoyed ourselves! Alla was very hospitable and is an AMAZING cook!!!! We were blown away by her european organic breakfast, it was possibly the best breakfast I've ever eaten. Some of the other B&B's we had looked at were a lot more expensive but we got a great deal here. Even though you have to pay extra for the breakfast, the total cost was still far below what the other places were asking. Alla offers value without scrimping in other areas.

This is the second time my wife and I have stayed at this BnB and as always she goes above and beyond are expectations. She is the most friendly person you could meet and the food is out of this world it is all organic and it is great. She makes you feel like you are family and you get to the point where you look forward to seeing her and sleeping at her BnB. If you are going to be in the Dallas area I would highly recomended staying here.

Alla is very friendly and makes sure your stay is pleasant. The best thing about our stay was the food. We had supper and breakfast there. I loved how all the fruit was fresh and organic! It was really good, and we were so full from breakfast that we didn't eat until supper! She also has some really cool antiques that still work.

We have stayed in several B&B's across the country and this one hold's it's own. The furniture was nearly all antique, house was quaint and the breakfast was fantastic! The location was great, close to shopping and food, but still had a secluded feel. The wine and hors d'oeuvre upon arrival are a great touch. I would definitely go there again, I have no complaints.

From the time I called to set up reservations to the very moment I pulled out of the driveway to head back to my apartment, there wasn't one second where I didn't feel like I was home. This was absolutely the most wonderful bed and breakfast experience of my life. I didn't want to leave, it truly pained my heart to walk away! Rick and Alla made us feel so warm and welcome. The atmosphere is cozy - I forgot I was only 30 minutes from my place, it honestly felt like I had stopped at an inn along the European countryside! The food was out of this world good. I just can't wait to go back. Worth every penny and so much more!

This was my first bed and breakfast experience and I can't wait to go back. Accommodations were comfortable and cozy, the food was unbelievable and the hosts were extremely pleasant. We stayed in a lovely room furnished with antique furniture. Even the light bulbs were over a century old and still functioning. Alla, the owner, was very hospitable and made sure that all our needs were met. The best part of this visit was her cooking. She made the best breakfast I have ever had! I would be willing to pay the price for the food alone. Even her dinners are fantastic! All in all, a wonderful, romantic experience.

When you first pull into the drive way you behold a humble little house that seems a bit average. However you leave feeling like you've been allowed to be part of something extremely unique and special! Alla's B&B is a quaint and charming historic house on a quite little street in the suburbs of Dallas. We were welcomed with open arms and felt Alla and her husband Rick were genuinely excited to have us in their home. After a tour, complete with a description of the history of the home and the fully functioning period furnishings, we were treated to a beverage, snack and an opportunity to enjoy a chat with our hosts. The home has 100+ year old light bulbs that still work! Our first morning we opted for the organic European breakfast and were pleasantly overwhelmed with the bounty of delicious food and flavors! We were surprised to find that our healthy hearty breakfast lasted the entire day! Our second morning we opted for the American breakfast and had yet another delicious feast! Each morning we had the privillege of having our hosts all to ourselves since we were the only guests mid-week. They are the most delightful couple who obviously love each other, love their business and most of all love their guests! We felt so welcomed and spoiled that we did not want to leave! So without reservation we highly recommend you take the opportunity become part of the history and heritage that makes Alla's bed and breakfast so uniqely wonderful!

What a fabulous little treasure my sister found for us!! This B & B is so quaint and adorable with gorgeous antiques, each with their own story to tell! We enjoyed our stay thoroughly and had the place to ourselves the entire weekend. The room was clean, spacious, beautifully decorated, with a very comfortable king size bed. The bathroom was clean and stocked with more than enough essentials and toiletries for our use. Breakfast was exceptionally delicious with perfectly cooked organic scrambled eggs, a lovely waffle with strawberries and bananas, and the best coffee ever!! But most of all, I appreciated the warm, welcoming, pleasant, kind, generous, and hospitable nature of our hosts, Alla and her husband Rick. We couldnt have had a more pleasant experience!!

Dear Rick & Alla: Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. My boyfriend surpised me for my birthday a night's stay at Alla's B & B. From the moment I walked into Alla's B & B, I knew without a shadow of a doubt we were going to be treated like royalty. We were given a tour of the home & welcomed with tastey hor'dorves & a glass of wine. My boyfriend and I stayed in Mama Pelt's room, which was amazing & filled antique fixtures. We then were served a nice candlelit dinner in our room with the most amazing delicious food. If I remember correctly we cleaned our plates. We enjoyed the spa for a nice relaxing evening. The next day we experinced the wonderul european organic breakfast. I'm not a scrambled egg eater but I sure was at Alla's. Oh yes, I can't forget about the yummy potatoes & crepes. She really out does herself. The icing on the cake is Alla's personality. She is very warm & builds relationships with her guest. She makes you feel like family. I will definitely be going back there soon!

My husband and I spent two nights here in May. Upon check-in, we were greeted by our hosts Alla and Rick, and were served a light appetizer with a glass of wine. After check-in, we were given a tour of the historical bed and breakfast and the nearby spa and cabana house where we stayed. That evening we experienced a delicious and organic meal prepared by Alla. Soft candlelight and beautiful music highlighted our meal. (The vitamin salad is a must as well as the roasted potatoes). Later that same evening, we played a record on the gramophone. Note: Alla also keeps the frig stocked with goodies for guests to enjoy. We stayed in the brown room and were very comfortable. We did not order the organic breakfast, but instead selected the mini breakfast (the coffee and organic homemade yogurt is delicious). If you are traveling near Dallas, or want to spend a romantic weekend this is the place!

This was our first time to stay at a Bed and Breakfast, and we were totally swept away with Alla's hospitality. She and her husband, Rick, rolled out the red carpet for us during our entire stay. We spent a wonderful evening with two very nice people. it was our 19th wedding anniversary, and Alla made this our most memorable. We had her Organic Breakfast, and it was the best breakfast! Definitely worth Ordering. Fabulous to waken to such wonderful smells cooking in the house. We will definitely go back. Alla goes above and beyond for every minute of your stay!! My girlfriend and I spent the prior weekend here at Alla's Historical Bed & Breakfast and we could not be more pleased. Although Alla was on her vacation, her husband, Rick, took care of us and made us a delicious breakfast every morning with eggs, pancakes, waffles, and amazing organic preserves. Thank you Rick! The house it self is very clean and comfortable. We are definitely staying here again next time we are in Texas.

WE got married on 4/30/11 and drove to Texas to stay at Alla's B and B. We LOVED Alla, she is so delightful and FUNNY! She made us feel at home. We had a real good time and relaxed in the Hot tub. We definitely recommend this place to everyone and will be a guest again sometime in the near future. My friends and I stayed here for a quick girls' getaway. Alla was so welcoming and truly delights in her guests. She was attentive and charming and a great cook too! Learning about the history of the house and its antiques was fascinating and the hot tub was a relaxing touch. We ate our dinner outdoors, which was peaceful too. Alla is a great hostess and the whole experience was perfect. Order the European breakfast - you won't regret it!

We stayed at Alla's in April 2011. We spent 2 days in a wonderful room with a beautiful king sized canopy bed. The room was amazing. She has lots of wonderful old furnishings. Ask about the light bulbs! We ate the organic breakfast and didn't eat again for 8 hours. The crepes and the eggs were amazing! I would highly recommend Alla's!

My boyfriend and I stayed here April 1st. Alla was very nice and welcomed us as if we were old friends. She made us feel welcomed and right at home. It was our first adventure doing anything "romantic" and Alla made it an excellent first experience. I can't wait to return. We miss it already.

My husband and I take turns every year planning a small getaway for our anniversary. This year it was his turn, and after lots of research, he chose Alla's B&B. Alla greeted us with a big hug, then took us on a tour of her historic home. From the wood floors to the 85 year old light bulbs in the antique light fixtures, we were delighted with everything this B&B had to offer. Not only is it a historical home filled with beautiful antiques, the food that Alla prepares is the most delicious you will ever find. She creates everything from scratch, right down to the jams she makes from the fruit trees in her back yard. We have recommended Alla's to everyone we know,and we will definitely be back! My husband won MAJOR brownie points for choosing this place, and I only hope I can find a place that comes close to this next year when it is my turn to plan our anniversary getaway!

Alla is an amazing host and cook. I love older homes and this was just a very nice, clean pleasant place to stay. Don't know why I would want to stay at a hotel room if I'm around Dallas. It's a very one on one experience. Alla takes great care of you and her breakfast is the best. With that said we also had plenty of privacy. We stayed in the Pelt room. Will definitely go back and must try the hot tub next time. Alla is in the job she was born to do.

We spent our honeymoon at this wonderful B&B! We were fortunate to have the house to ourselves for our stay. Alla and Rick were wonderful hosts. The room and house was much more than expected. The location is excellent - near to many places in Dallas and Fort Worth. We will be back soon for the excellent food and fellowship. A great place to escape!

It was my first time to stay at a bed & breakfast and it was so romantic. We felt very at home and the food was so good words can not describe you will have to experience it for yourself. We just visited All's over this past weekend. Alla is an exceptional innkeeper and hostess. She and her husband Rick were so friendly and helpful upon our individual arrivals. We stayed in the Pelt room-very comfortable and romantic accomodations. The organic breakfast was the most delicious thing i have ever tasted! Everything was delicious especially her homemade mulberry jam-OMG! We have already decided that Alla's will be our place to meet for romantic weekends for now on-already have plans to return this June.

My husband and i had the pleasure of celebrating our 11th year anniverary in Alla's Historical B&B. From the time we drove onto the property, the experience was wonderful. We were greeted with warm smiles and hugs. It was beyond what we expected. She made us feel as if we were family and not strangers in her home.Alla was outgoing and loving. From the time we was the until we left, there was never a dull moment. She left a lasting impression on us forever. I truly will cherish this visit with her forever. Words cant expain our experience. We cant wait until to see her again. As we were leaving she said "i want say good bye , but ill say until next time my babies". That really touched my heart and will stay with me forever. Me and my husband stayed at Alla's B&B for our 3rd anniversary and it was unforgettable. She is the sweetest, funniest, and down to earth person you will ever meet. The area was quiet and relaxing. The had the luxury of staying in the red room and it was gorgeous.The entire home was more than we ever expected. The breakfast was breath taking and finger licking good. We will definetly return soon and refer this B&B to all our friends!

My husband and I were very happy to find a nice weekend getaway. It was very quiet and our hostess, despite having hurt her foot very badly, welcomed us like her own children. We were very well cared for and enjoyed her delicious breakfast as much as her delicious tales. It is clear that Alla loves her job and her guests. Staying at Alla's is one decision you don't have to worry about ever regretting. Wonderful, beautiful furniture with a wonderful, beautiful hostess with the mostest.

My boyfriend and I were just wanting to get away for a weekend and forget all of our stress and just relax in a different atmosphere. And Alla's B&B answered our calling! Alla's was literally a blessing! I did not expect such wonderful service and hospitality, not to mention all of the history incorporated into this lovely home. I was taken here on a special Valentine's Day surprise and it was wonderful. Alla and Rick are not just inn keepers they are a huge part of this experience and why this B&B is so fantastic. When we first arrived we received a tour of all the antiques in the house dating back over 100 yrs! The house is so homey and the room we stayed in was divine. We were given robes and slippers as well! We had dinner plans so we left and came back and the amazing Alla was there when we returned to set us up on our spa adventure. The Jacuzzi Cabana is gorgeous. We slept like babies..and had a truly outstanding breakfast. We as a couple have traveled quite extensively and I can say the experience you get here matches if not tops some of the top hotels. The best part is Alla and Rick, this wonderful couple reminds you that love is the most important thing in life and they really love their guests. We are already planning our trip back! And one more note: I had an early flight out the next morning and Ms. Alla sent me on my way with some of her home made organic crepes..they were equally delicious on the plane ride home. I researched a B&B to stay at for weeks! I wanted a nice getaway for my boyfriend and I. I came across Alla's B&B and it seemed the most comfortable and the pictures looked awesome! I was apprehensive staying at a random's person's house, however I was willing to try new things. As soon as I walked in the door, Alla and her husband Rick were there to greet us with open arms... LITERALLY! My boyfriend is a history buff, so all of the history and old old atiques were incredible in this house! We stayed in the brown room in a seperate house around the corner. We had the house all to ourselves! We paid xtr for the 1 hour hottub and trust me when I say, IT WAS WORTH IT!! The dinner was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G. The breakfast was I.N.C.R.E.D.I.B.L.E. Alla's skill in the kitchen exceeded any restaurant food I have EVER tasted. All food was organic...which normally I really wouldnt care... but my god, was that good stuff! If you are looking for a place to get away and be catered on by the most beautiful, loving people in the state of Texas, check this place out! You wont regret it!

It's an absolutely gorgeous historical house brimming with old fashioned appeal. Beautifully furnished with antique furniture and fully working appliances, it's a great place to get away from everything. The food was outstanding and all-organic and Alla is incredibly friendly and attentive to anything you need. Couldn't have been happier with my stay.

I was looking to do a spur of the moment "romantic getaway". I called Alla and she made it happen with just one phone call. I truly enjoyed my time with Alla and Rick. From the first moment I walked in to Alla's Bed and Breakfast, I felt very welcomed. She allowed for me to decorate the room with roses and candy before I brought my love. She was very understanding when I was late coming back. When I arrived, she made us desert which was the best I have had in a long time. You could not get any better at a 5 star resort. Afterwards she allowed us to have our privacy, which was great. The all organic breakfast was delicious which is an understatement. I would highly recommend her establishment to anyone. I wanted to surprise my Girlfriend for the weekend and take her somewhere nice. I saw the website and figured that it would be fun to check out a bed and breakfast. I never expected it to be so amazing! From the moment we got there Alla and her husband welcomed us and we knew it was going to be an incredible time. The food was absolutley amazing! When we woke up in the morning it wasnt like a hotel, where you order something for room service, or you have to get dressed and go to the restraunt. We woke up in the morning hopped into our pajamas and walked on over to the kitchen just like we were at home. The spread was nothing short of amazing. There were natural jams, crepes, the best potatoes, yogurt. Me and my girlfriend are both very particular on what we eat and our portions. With the food that Alla had made herself from scratch there was no way I wanted to leave that table. Me and my sister used to make crepes when I was a child, If we made them half as well as Alla had I wouldnt be able to ever fit through any normal sized doorway. The yogurts with the jam was better than anything I've gotten from any store. I had never had potatoes like she had made, there were different types of potatoes put together in an incredible... I dont know how to describe it other than you must try it. I could go on forever about the food because again it was incredible, it really showed how hard she worked on it through both the appearance and taste. I could write for hours on end about how incredible our experience was at Alla's and still not be able to do her justice. Alla and her husband Rick are wonderful people and have the most amazing bed and breakfast. I would recommend Alla's to everyone I know and to those who like having a wonderful experience of any type in the Dallas area. Thank you Alla for the best weekend me and Angelica have ever had.

I will start by saying WOW! From the moment we walked in the door, it was simply amazing. The B&B is an electronic antique museum. You get wine and food when you arrive! From the breakfast (the organic food is 5 stars!!!) to the spa to the romantic dinner for two, I have never had such a wonderful getaway! You cannot find a better B&B chef than Alla anywhere! The beds are spacious and comfortable! Alla & Rick were so warm and inviting, it was like visiting a family from Belgium. I will be back, guaranteed! Maybe even every anniversary here after. Alla's B&B was absolutely wonderful! Me and my husband stayed there for two nights for our honeymoon. The bedrooms were prestine and the breakfast was amazing. The first morning we ate the American breakfast which was absoutely wonderful, and the other couple whom we ate with had the organic international breakfast. My husband got so excited looking at it that he requested it for the next morning. It was delicious! We also had an hour in the hot tub, which was wonderfully romantic, and a bottle of wine. Alla and her husband, Rick, are absolutely wonderful people and not only do we plan to come visit again, but have intentions to send my husband's parents to them for Mother's Day. I'm so surprised by some recent comments about Alla's. I've been there a number of times & have always found it very lovely, cozy & welcoming. Many B&Bs are in neighborhood locations--which I don't mind at all! And some have prices of $200-$250 per night! But after breakfast, you're looking for the nearest McDonald's! Not at Alla's! The food is unique & very delicious--& lovingly prepared. You'll never leave this place hungry! It's like stepping back in time to a more carefree, less stressful time in our lives. The area is very quiet, yet close to Downtown Dallas, antique malls & grocery stores. The surroundings just contribute to the 'back in time' ambiance--& is such a quaint & unique oasis--in a sea of cookie-cutter hotels & motels. Thank you, Alla, for 1 more unforgettable stay. Staying at Alla's B&B was an unforgettable experience, full of so many wonderful moments... from the minute I walked in with Alla's sincere 'make yourself feel completely at home' friendliness, to discovering the beauty and incredible history of the house and its furnishings, and enjoying the comfort of my room and amenities. I had selected to stay here because of the price and location, but was treated to so much more! This is a truly unique and special place. My only regret was that I wasn't able to indulge in more of Alla's wonderful cooking. Her concern and desire for providing only the best in food makes her all that more of an exceptional hostess!

We really enjoyed our stay and it was certainly a unique experience, but there are a few things you should know in advance. I hate to say anything that sounds negative, it's just that there are some unusual aspects of Alla's that I wish I'd known. If you're the kind of person who really wants to hermit away, this is not the place for you. Plan to get the full tour on arrival. Alla will make friends with you despite your antisocial tendencies and make you feel like you're staying at a friend's house. The house has no view or curb appeal to speak of - we were expecting something like an old hotel nestled between antique shops. It's just an ordinary house on a regular residential street overlooking the tracks. There isn't even a sign now, just a historical marker. Alla and Rick don't live in the house, so you can't just show up and ask for a room. The inside is a different story. Loveley furniture and interesting antiques, mostly from the earliest days of electricity. The food is great, though waaay too much. We needed naps after breakfast. You won't be disappointed.

I thought it would be appropriate to expound on some key items that we feel our many returning guest already know and that our future guest would like to know. First, we are so proud of our historical property (the only one in Duncanville) as a nearly 85 year old home museum. After our brief historical presentation, we always like to go over the amenities of the home, such as showing where the sleepers are kept, robes, private restrooms, coffee makers, extra towels, drinks, dishes and silverware, and the spa and cabana area. After check in, we leave. The Texas historical marker appears in the front yard with no other sign indicating that the property is even a B & B. What guest would want to be disturbed with strangers that are only curious about seeing the property? We make sure this never happens. Our guests love that. We don’t accept “drop ins” under any circumstances. Finely, we may not be next to a coast line or have a mountain range view, but our near one acre backyard that is covered with beautiful trees, gives a great relaxing atmosphere for those wanting to enjoy the spa and redwood cabana, BBQ, whether a simple get-a-way, or a romantic honeymoon evening. Our guests enjoy being within walking distance of some of Duncanville’s finest restaurants, stores, and other shops, while our antique mall is less than a 3 minute drive away.

Where do I begin.....This was a night to remember for Darren and I. Darren has never been to a bed and breakfast before and was a little hesitant once we drove to our destination, once Alla came out to meet us when we pulled up I knew everything was going to be great. Her warm welcome made us feel comfortable right away and felt at home. We loved the house and all of it's character. I loved the warm feeling and the food was AMAZING!!! The hot tub was just the icing on the cake. It was so romantic and relaxing and private! we had so much fun the time just flew by. Next time we would like to stay a couple of nights. Two weeks ago we visited Dallas TX. We we looking for a nice and quiet place to stay. After searching online we found Alla's historical B&B. We loved the place location and interior and of course the ORGANIC breakfast! We are big fans of organic food, and it is very hard to find a place like this. When we saw Alla's dishes online we could not wait to try them all! It looked so delicious and creative. We made reservations right away. After a long flight we arrived to Duncanville. Alla was already waiting for us with delicious food and beverages! She Welcomed us with a big hug and smile. It felt like home. Alla's hospitality is Amazing. She is generous, kind and so friendly.She makes her guests feel really Welcome. We loved and really enjoyed our stay there. Alla's historical B&B is really historical. We saw so many interesting things, we danced and listened to a really old records. We loved the Russian Gramophones. The place was extraordinary clean, neat and comfortable. Let’s begin with the perfect and most memorable welcoming that I have ever received. Alla was so delightful and she brought a lot of love to the atmosphere as soon as we walked through the door. The bedroom was impeccable and the candle light dinner was so romantic. Soft music with dinner was perfect and it brought sweet melodies to my ear. To call what Alla prepared for dinner a meal, would be an understatement, it was more like a feast. The dinner was amazing and I could not have asked for a better feast to go along with such a perfect night. The spa and cabana really hit the spot. The wine and chocolate combined with a top of the line spa experience left us feeling very relaxed and speechless. The European breakfast was brilliant and put us over the edge with amazement. I lead a very busy life. I needed to get away just for the weekend. I drove up and Alla was there to greet me and give me a hug!! She showed me all her interesting antiques. Her husband has the most beautiful music boxes! I really wanted just peace and quiet but those two had me intrigued all night. I travel all over the world and I never stay at hotels. I have NEVER had an Inn Keeper like Alla. Never. She went out of her way to make me feel comfortable. Her food is the best food I have ever had. Ever. She told me she makes it from scratch!!! Not only is her food great but it's beautiful like it belongs in a picture!!! Her Accent is so lovely and she is so happy all the time. I could and maybe did talk to her for hours and hours. All the rooms have a story and are beautiful. I was VERY impressed and happy with my stay. I got my taste of Europe at Alla's B &B. I will DEFINATELY be visiting Alla's again. You arrive to a beautiful friendly face, piping hot hors d'oeuvres, and a glass of wine that reads .."Come as a stranger, leave as a friend", and thats couldn't be more true. The house is so cozy it feels like a home away from home. Alla is truly a nurturing woman, and it shows in her hospitality. You will never want for ANYTHING when you come here. Our stay was November 18, 2010. After being a guest at Alla's B/B a couple of times, our children decided to surprise us with a visit there for our 40th wedding anniversary! Before we could get out of the car, Alla was greeting us with her warm smile and charming personality!! Her B/B is, in a word, awesome!! Her knowledge of the property and Pelt family was very interesting! The antique furniture is some of the most beautiful I've ever seen, so loved and taken care of! The home is absolutely spotless! With Alla as hostess, we were in need of nothing! Had we forgotten shampoo, etc., she has it handy! The food is unbelievable. We had an organic breakfast, fit for a king! Completely organic and homemade. I had a birthday earlier in the week, and to my surprise, Alla had one candle on the crepe when we sat down for breakfast! What fun and so thoughtful. The food shown on the website is exactly what it looks like when one sits down to eat!!! As for Alla....she is a charm and it is quite obvious that she loves what she does! She loves people and wants her guests to be comfortable and taken care of! We came to Alla's B/B, total strangers and before we left, we were friends!!! Overall, our visit was more than expected and we do hope to visit her again!!

Our daughter and her husband had stayed twice at Alla's, and told us we had to go there. We went, and I am ever so glad that we did. First of all, the historical house is amazing, and the furnishings are exceptional. Anyone who loves antiques needs to see this house and hear Alla's stories about how they acquired the pieces. Secondly, Alla served us an absolutely fabulous breakfast. Eggs, bacon, crepes with fruit topping, a delicious potato mixture, sliced fresh fruit, homemade yogurt and homemade jams(the mulberry jam is to die for!) and all of it organic to boot! However, the real jewel of the place is Alla herself. She is such a warm and gracious host, and made us feel "at home" immediately. She is a wonderful "people person" who makes her guests feel special and appreciated. After finding out that my wife had just had a birthday, Alla greeted her at breakfast with a candle on her crepes and singing "happy birthday" to her. Having never been to a bed and breakfast before, I wanted to treat my love to something special, so I researched locations around the Dallas area, and Alla's kept coming up among the best. So, I decided to give it a fair shot. Nothing could have prepared for how wonderful the experience would be. Alla, is a wonderful hostess with an endless amount of knowledge about seemingly everything. We could have just sat and listened to her talk about her life experiences for hours. She does a phenomenal job of balancing old-world European sensibilities with historical American charm. And her cooking... divine. A bed a breakfast is so much fun when shared with a loved one, but I would seriously come alone just to eat! The fact that this woman isn't a world-famous chef is one of the seven wonders of the world. When it was time to go to our room, the accommodations couldn't have been more inviting. All of our needs were taken care of beforehand, and if we (somehow) needed anything else, Alla was just a phone call away. I was particularly impressed with her flexibility in letting us upgrade to a different room that had become available if we wanted to at no additional charge. This bed and breakfast is really all about service and making the customer feel at home, and we really felt like we've made a new friend in Alla.

My wfe and I decided to turn what would otherwise have been a boring business trip into a romantic getaway highlighted with a truly to-die-for european organic breakfast. The chef and hostess is Alla Wikins, a tour de force in the kitchen, a delight in conversation. Alla hails from the Ukraine and makes everything she cooks with the freshest, organic produce. No preservatives or corn syrup allowed in Alla's kitchen! When I saw pictures of her breakfasts on their website they looked too good be true - especially the quiche and fruit assortment highlighted with pomegranate..the quiche was out-of-this-world goodness - and she wisely opted to make it sans crust to make room for the delicious potato medley. From the delicious high anti-oxidant German coffee (higher than green tea) to the homemade yoghurt and jams, everything else was more than just right, it was absolutely perfect! The setting for this is Duncanville, southwest of Dallas in an historic home built by John C. Pelt. On a walk through the rolling curvy streets I ran into an oldtimer who could remember when the Pelt home was one of the only houses in the area and the only brick house in all Duncanville. Each room is an antique lover's delight and a getaway seeker's paradise. You will literally be transported to a time when things were made with pride and patience and made to last a lifetime. Lightbulbs in the house were made by the Edison company over 100 years ago - and still work! The old refrigerator is as much a work of art as it is a mechanical marvel. The dial inside goes to 12 but it must be kept on the lowest setting of "1" or everything will be frozen. In fact, if Global Warming ever comes, the Dallas area solution might be to turn that knob in Duncanville to 12! We had a marvelous time at the old Pelt home with the Wilkins and can't wait to get back.

I was welcomed w/ a full tour of the historical, antique ladden B&B. Everything was in working condition. The place was so emaculate; not a speck of dust anywhere. Alla is such a marvelous host. I traveled alone and she assured me that everything would be fine and I trusted her, she even offered to stay with me until I fell asleep; if I was afraid, but her word of assurance eased my troubles. The bed was very comfy and I actually felt right at home. This was one time away from home where I didn't miss my own bed. (smile) Everything needed to make my stay comfortable was there. This made my first stay at a B&B very relaxing. I look forward to many more stays at B&Bs when I travel. Thanks Alla for your EXCELLENT hospitality and it shows that you enjoy what you do and it's not just a business but it's from the heart.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Alla's! Alla is a most accomodating hostess and has a fun, wonderful personality. The b and b is filled with lovely antiques and interesting histories. We went to Alla's for our tenth wedding Anniversary. From the very moment we arrived we were met with warm welcomes and treated as her own family. The house as well as the guest house are exquisitely beautiful and we will definately be returning!! The breakfast was tasty!!

Alla and her husband, Rick, are really super. From the moment that I walked in at 10pm, I felt very welcome. She is a real dynamo and a super cook. I will always remember sitting around the kitchen table with two other guests and her husband Rick listening to him explain about light bulbs - when each filament type was created, the history, everything. I was looking for a last minute getaway, we live in the Dallas area, and when I found Alla's B and B it looked too good to be true, but she was so nice over the phone, I decided to try it...we enjoyed the antique ambiance and friendliess of our hosts and it was hard to get away to explore the nearby Cedar Ridge Nature Preserve, but we did go there twice for some hiking--awesome---and after we saw the spa decided we must try it, better than any spa I have ever been in! We enjoyed the organic European breakfast and talking more about travel adventures, family, etc...I would love to go back, especially at Christmas time, it must be wonderful! Hope to return before long!

I set up a weekend get a way for my wife. I arranged everything ahead of time for the surprise. I ask Alla for several request, and she was very helpful. The tour of the house was amazing and very informative. When we arrived to the room where we were staying there was flowers and candles waiting. In the morning the organic breakfast was AMAZING. The homemade crapes, potatoes, yogurt and jellies were all great. The food was wonderful. My wife and I enjoyed time in the spa as well. There was fresh fruit and chocolate in the room when we finished in the spa. The stay at Alla's was one of the best places we have been.

This July 2010, I had to travel to San Diego for Business with a pit stop at our facility in the Dallas area. As I had spent already two Months at Alla's B&B two years earlier it was obvious for me to stay at Alla's B&B again. A phone call from Belgium to Alla's and reservation was booked. On July 7th, It was like coming back home. Belgian beer and food were awaiting for me!! Alla hadn't forgotten about my favorits! We had a great evening watching the fireworks , with a great Belgian beer digging up good memories on my previuos stay. Next morning up to Dallas Central Market in order to by more ingredients for my Belgian favorit meals! Can you imagine? Haven't seen another place were one takes the time and put in such amount of efforts in order for the guests to feel at home. Alla, Rick, thank you very much for the very warm welcome home. Definitely will be back.

My husband suprised me with a night at Alla's b&b. Wow! Everything was so perfect! The house is beautiful and full of some very neat antiques. Alla and Rick where very hospitable. They were so welcoming to me and my husband during our stay. Alla strived very hard to make this stay as special as possible. She came and set up the spa for us before we arrived from our dinner out. The room was so comfortable and decorated very nicely for me and my husband. The breakfast, the organic breakfast, was unmatched to anything we had ever had. I had an opportunity to try things that I have never tried before. My husband and I loved the food! Alla is an amazing cook that strives to make this breakfast special for the people who are enjoying it. We very much enjoyed the company of Rick and Alla during breakfast. First of all, thank you Rick for giving me the correct directions to your place, if I had just gone with mapquest, I'd have never made it. You saved me that night. I stayed for only one night, but it was all I needed to know I would be back for more. From the decorations to the exhuberant, delicious breakfast, and most of all, Alla and Rick's remarkable hospitality. It is about 30 minutes from downtown, but all worth it. I have traveled to Europe, Latin America and within the States and nothing compares to what I found at Alla's B&B. When I said good bye, I knew it was not going to be for long. We were treated just like family with Rick and Alla. They are wonderful people who truly care about you, and Alla is the BEST cook ever! We stayed in a three bedroom house all to ourselves that was clean and very comfortable. The best part was breakfast though. I want to cook like her someday; I learned a lot from her. She was so sweet and treated my kids like her own. Made us feel really special!

Alla's Historical B&B is perhaps the most unique place I've ever stayed! The combination of the remarkable antiques, the fine European breakfast, Rick's kindness, and Alla's colorful, outgoing personality, made this a truly unforgettable experience. The antiques, while mostly not original to the house, are quite interesting--including beautiful furniture, radios and TV's, a fascinating refrigerator/freezer, vintage bathroom fixtures, and light bulbs that are more than 100 years old, all still functioning! Upon arrival, Alla was eager to give a tour through the house, telling stories about its construction, as well as information about the antiques, including the exact age of many of them! Staying there truly felt much like what it must have been like to live in the early 20th century! My family and I stayed there two nights, and we all agreed that we wanted Alla's signature organic European breakfast both mornings. It was truly tasty and nutritious! Both mornings, Alla provided a beautiful array of fruit and preserves, and the hot part of the breakfast each morning consisted of seasoned scrambled eggs, bacon, a seasoned potato medley, and crepes topped with a delicious fruit topping. Orange juice, milk, and coffee (both regular and decaf) were also provided. Alla and Rick also have no shortage of conversation during the meal! The sleeping experience was pleasant; the beds were comfortable to all of us, and oscillating fans are even provided. The rooms are equipped with modern TVs and DVD players, and there are a few DVDs provided out in the hallway. In addition, Alla conveniently provides WiFi access. (A few modernities to make the stay all the more comfortable!) Also, to anyone who is very hot-natured like we are, don't worry--the A/C is quite effective after it's been on for awhile, even if you want it to be 65 degrees at night! All-in-all, our stay was quite an interesting, enjoyable experience!

Alla's place is amazing! The decorations unbelievable and Alla's company unique and unforgettable. Loved it, will definitely go back there! I surprised my husband with a one day/night get-a-way and WOW! From the second we arrived and were greeted by Rick and Alla I knew that we were in for an amazing day/night! I LOVED hearing about the history in the house, and getting a tour from Alla. Rick was to funny trying to correct any little thing she said wrong, they were such a funny couple! We enjoyed having the appetizers/wine with them, after we were done we retreated to our room for a pre-dinner nap. Alla rang a bell to let us know dinner was ready, but the bell was NOT needed, the aroma from our dinner had already woken us up! We walked into the dining room to the smell of our amazing dinner, and amazing music playing. Our dinner was so good, meat fell apart, potatoes WOW, and a salad I could eat every day. And then the real treat, organic ice cream topped with All-made jam YUMM! Next we were off to the spa and cabana! It was so relaxing and peaceful. So romantic my husband and I really enjoyed ourselves. We slept so great in the HUGE comfy bed! And again we woke up to the smell of breakfast, which I will mention was at 10am so that we could sleep in and I LOVED that! The breakfast, oh the breakfast, no words to say how good it was, you will literally have to go and try it! We are already planning our next trip back! Alla and Rick are amazing warm people. It was far different from the other bed and breakfast we have visited where it was "here is your key enjoy your stay", they made SURE we enjoyed every minute, and we truely did! I took my fiancee to Alla and Rick's B&B to celebrate his birthday and our recent engagement. Neither one of us had ever been to a Bed and Breakfast and we decided to try this place. It looked quite and had a fantastic website. I emailed them for reservations and Alla called me very soon after to make the reservations. You could tell over the phone how much she loved what she did and that in itself made us excited to go. I emailed her several times to ask questions about things and she always got back to me that day. Once we finally got there, from the minute we got out of our car, we loved it. Alla greeted us like we were family. She took us on the tour of the house going into great detail at all the historical antiques. She was available whenever we needed her throughout our 2 night stay. She cooked us an incredible breakfast the 2 mornings we were there and we were able to spend a very romantic evening in the spa. I cannot put into words how incredible this bed and breakfast is. We started out as strangers and we left there as friends. We will be going back as soon as we can. Our experience was so great, we dont want to visit other bed and breakfast places because we cannot imagine an experience better than the one we had with Alla and Rick!!!

The location may not seem conventional but don't be fooled, inside the house is full of wonderful historical items representing scientific discovery and evolution in things such as original toasting machines and 100 year old lightbulbs, that still work! Alla and Rick offer Texas hospitality with Ukrainian flare amidst antiques and music boxes, not to mention Edison lightbulbs. A far cry from a Motel 6 for sure. Interesting synchronicity was finding a magazine in my room devoted to things British. How could they have known I wish to relocate permanently to the UK? Guess that's Alla, the psychic from the Ukraine! Lovely couple. Lovely room. Lovely.

I came to Alla's looking for healing and restoration after the loss of my pregnancy. I found it in so many more ways than I could have imagined! I had expected a weekend of nothing but my bible and running, but instead I found God not only in those two things, but in the friendship, conversation and amazing breakfasts I recieved from Alla and Rick. I have never met 2 people more thrilled to be doing their work or more in tune with what their customers need. I never once, from the time I pulled into the driveway, until the time I said my happy "see you next time!" felt like anything less than family. Alla and Rick exude such an amazing warmth and love that it seems silly to talk about the amenities, but I must say that the house, the room, the grounds and the food, (OH! the food!!) were absolutely to live for! The rates are better than a hotel, and you get so much more for your money. I will be going back for seconds and thirds, bringing my husband along and telling everyone who will listen about this wonderful place. I've traveled many places, but Alla's is-hands down-the best I've stayed. I'm so glad I found her on B&B.com!

We enjoyed our stay immensely at Alla's Bed and Breakfast. Not being a "typical" B&B'er I wasn't sure what to expect. Alla and her husband were more than accommodating. We received a thorough history lesson surrounding the house and the historical pieces inside of it deepening our appreciation for the historical significance of the property. The cooking was simply divine as well; well done Alla! I would most definitely visit again and plan to do so next time I am in the area and looking for a bed and breakfast.

My husband and I went to Alla's to celebrate our birthdays and to enjoy some romantic time alone since we have 5 children. The house is amazing and filled with timeless treasures that took us back in time where life was much simpler. We availed ourselves of every specialty that Alla's had to offer, including the romance and spa packages and it was worth every penny! We fell in love all over again! My boyfriend I, wanted a nice get a way and we got just that! The food was amazing and Alla and Rick are delightful people. I did not want to leave and we will definetly be back. I decided to take my girlfriend for a much needed getaway and chose this B&B. I too thought am I in the right place ? But upon our arrival we were greeted in the driveway by Alla, and taken back into a time once forgotten. The experience was one that we will never forget and the hospitality was the best ! The dining was the best you could ever desire. Once you come here you will want to make a return visit as I will in the near future.

My husband and I have stayed in many B&Bs in several states in the US. When I made this reservation, we had NO idea how wonderful our two night stay would be! We are not "into" antiques but this B&B was amazing in that Alla demonstrated many of the antiques that are still in working condition such as light bulbs OVER 100 years old! The history of the house is very intersting as well. Our room was very comfortable, very clean. No one else was staying in the house when we were there so we had the entire house to ourselves. We were shown the security system to use when leaving. On arrival, the kitchen aroma was calling us and we enjoyed wine and orderves. The next morning, we were treated to an organic European breakfast that was more delicious than ANY breakfast I have ever had. (It took Alla 1 1/2 hr to prepare) It kept us fueled until supper! My questions regarding the breakfast preparation led to many more questions and, in the end, Alla told me how to prepare my own yogurt and cottage cheese and many more healthy shopping/cooking tips. Alla's passion for hosting is obvious in everything she does for her guests. We were celebrating birthdays so she had a special treat for us as well. When we returned home, we received an e-mail from Alla and three photos she took of us while we were there. When I made this reservation, I was looking for a place to "get away" from routine, jobs, responsibilities for a couple of days to celebrate our birthdays, etc. What I found was a true treasure....Alla. A rare find these days!

When you first drive up to Alla's B&B, you may wonder (as we did) if you are in the right place. The B&B doesn't look like much from the outside. But, don't let appearances fool you! Step inside and be greeted by a warm, loving innkeeper - that would be Alla. Take a journey back in time (you'll see what I mean when you get there!), and get treated to an uncommon level of hospitality and food. Alla has made her B&B more than just a neat place to stay. It is truly a destination.

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay for our 20th Anniversary and found Alla's. We were taken back by her genuine hospitality! We had a fabulous time and immensely enjoyed all the antiques and historical significance of it all. We were blown away by the 100 year old light bulbs still working. How neat! From the very beginning, I knew this place would be special. My husband and I were looking for a special place to take his parents for their 40th anniversary. Somebody gave me the idea of a Bed & Breakfast because it was more romantic and would add to the surprise that we were going for. In preparing for our visit, I emailed the innkeeper, Alla many times with MANY questions and requests. She was so patient and helped with those requests and even gave me more ideas to make the weekend more special. We arrived very late due to the vow renewal service. Alla and her husband greeted us with smiles, hugs, a glass of wine & hors d’oeuvres. The home was completely charming. My husband loved learning about all the antiques and their stories. The service and meals were incredible. After breakfast, we were full all day long while exploring Dallas; which was very close. I like to research places and see all the reviews and everything about it before I go. I could not find anything negative about Alla’s Historical Bed & Breakfast. I thought it must be a trick or they have a lot of friends. I found that the second part is somewhat true because everybody leaves this home as a friend. Alla truly goes out of her way to make everyone feel special and truly taken care of. My in-laws told us that this was this best anniversary yet!!

My husband, my brother and I stayed at Alla’s Bed and Breakfast on June 26, 2010. Actually the trip from Louisiana to Dallas was on our anniversary weekend and it was a get-a-way from our 8 year old and 11 month old daughters. We really didn’t know what to expect because my mother-in-law had made all the arrangements for us. She looked for a convenient location and reasonable rates we were very please that she found both in Alla's B&B. It was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the first “hello” I was impressed. Alla greeted us with a hug, and I’m a “hugger”. She was a very warm, funny, delightfully friendly hostess who made us feel right at home. When we arrived we were served delicious wine and hors d'oeurves which we enjoyed while relaxing on the porch. I really wanted a B&B with a historical background and this was exactly what I was looking for. I love the antique furnishings I wanted to touch everything. Sorry, Alla about the lamp but you fixed it with her magic touch (and a light bulb). We chose the organic breakfast the next morning. Everything was homemade and delicious. We shared the breakfast with a couple from the Houston area. Like us, they had small children and we enjoyed visiting with them also. We were not rushed in any way to leave, Alla visited with us on the front porch. It felt like going home to Grandma’s house. We would recommend this get-a-way for anyone. My wife and I spend our second anniversary at Alla's Bed and Breakfast primarily because of the organic breakfast. My wife has a digestive disorder and we have to watch what we eat. We love going to b&b's but we can't enjoy the experience if my wife can't enjoy the food. This has been the best all-around experience because of the organic food, the historical significance (which I love), and the most courteous hospitable innkeeper. We felt like we were her children, coming home to enjoy a weekend amidst our hectic pace and lifestyle. This has been a great and refreshing pause in our life. My husband and I spent a weekend at Alla's for our second wedding anniversary. We rarely eat out because I have a digestive disease and must eat a very strict organic/natural diet. I was so thrilled to find Alla's B&B!! Normally I have to bring a lot of my own food to a B&B, but not this time! If you are on a special diet, Alla has you covered from the organic breakfast to all kinds of organic teas and right down to the natural microwave popcorn available to all guests. It was so nice not to worry about the food being served and just be able to relax and enjoy the experience. Besides the food, we were amazed at Alla's hospitality and service. Rick, Alla's husband, greeted us on the porch when we pulled into the drive, and Alla immediately greeted us with a warm hug when we stepped inside. You aren't just her guests. She treats you like family. And by the time you leave, you'll feel like you ARE a part of her family. Alla's is the most outstanding and enjoyable B&B hospitality I've ever experienced! To top it all off, the house is a tremendous historical experience. From 100+-year-old Edison light bulbs to antique gramophones to antique refrigerators to antique TVs to antique sinks, you feel as if you've taken a step back in time. Everything in the house still works (even the old antique telephones!), so this historic B&B gives you a true taste of history. Fabulous food. The warmest hospitality you'll ever experience. I was looking for a place to surprise my husband for his birthday. I really lucked out finding a place that was close to his job. I called Alla and was pleasantly surprised to find out how nice and helpful she was. She worked with me to help make this a wonderful surprise for my husband. My husband is generally not a fan of B&B's but this one was different. From the moment you walked in the door, Alla treated you like you were family. Our room was warm, cozy and romantic. We used the romantic hottub that night complete with candles, special lighting and chocolates. The European breakfast was superb! My favorite was the potatoes. My husband and I had a wonderful time and we look forward to visiting again.

My husband wanted to surprise me for our 40th anniversary this year. We had never been to a B&B but had talked about it on several occasions. Well, surprise me he did. It was a fun experience and the delicious breakfast was the icing on the cake! Alla is a GREAT cook - we'll be talking about that breakfast for a long time! Our hosts were friendly and hospitable, the rooms were beautiful and the antiques marvelous. We are looking forward to trying a B&B again. It will be hard to find one that can beat Alla's hospitality and cooking!

I've been married for 2 years and this was an amazingly romantic weekend. The room was beautiful, the spa was relaxing, and the food was unbelievable. We would gladly pay the price we did for the experience we got.

My husband and I stayed here for a night just to get away and relax- and that is exactly what we did! The house is so charming and full of character. All of the furnishings are consistent with the time and era the house was built in which gave it all the more charm. Alla was an exceptional host! Superb is simply the best word to describe my stay. She blew me and my expectations out the window- she was so great. To sum it up.... We came in as strangers and left the best of friends.

I have stayed in a number of inns and B&Bs. Most have had nice features, ambience, food, location, etc.... but what makes Alla's unique is Alla. I felt like I was a welcome guest in someone's home. We only stayed one evening, but I know we will be going back. And if you don't get the organic breakfast you are missing a real treat! I was full for the rest of the day!!! Thank you, Alla!

We stayed at Alla's for one night during our honeymoon. We were searching for a B and B in the Dallas area and just happened upon a review of Alla's. We throughly enjoyed the facinating tour of the house, and learning the history of the incredible antiques that furnish the B&B. This was my first b&b ever.And the only vacation i've had sence i've been at my job.And i mite say been in the restaurant business requires alot of dedication and hard work.As for my boss for him it was just the peace and quite that he loved,an to be able to sleep in late a couple of days was Relaxin for him.And the spa was like soft warm Chocolate that melts smoothly in your month with a touch of wine to Kool you off afterwards.But most of Alla&Rick was very good hostes and the breakfast was Delicious.So i look forward to my next visit to Alla's B&B.Thank You!!!!!!!!

This is a small, comfortable B&B filled with neat historical artifacts. The house itself is homey and lovely, though the neighborhood is nothing special. Alla is a great cook--this was the best breakfast I've ever had at a B&B, hands down. However, don't come here if you're looking to be left alone in peace and quiet. Alla believes in true Old World hospitality, and she will tend to your every need whether you like it or not!

Amazing people and amazing house. Made my business trip a memory. Would love to come back whenever I am in the Dallas area (and whenever I can find any excuse to be there). I really don't like staying in or around Dallas... until now. Best BB I ever stayed in!

Alla's personal touch is unmatched, the charm of her outstanding B and B is only surpassed by her warmth and her cheerful personality. She makes her guests feel completely at home from the moment they walk through the door. A stickler for details, she leads her guests through a fantastic preview of their upcoming visit and the stay lives up to every thing she says it will be. We had to leave early the next morning, but Alla went to extraordinary lengths to arrange for us to come for breakfast later in the week. This is an experience for out of towners and for those looking for a retreat just down the street from their home.

Well, I suggested to do a getaway with my boyfriend and asked him what did he think about doing a break and breakfast. Not too far out and not too expensive. Searching close to home I found this lovely bread and breakfast inside the city limits in Duncanville, Tx. Both my boyfriend and I had never been to a bread and breakfast and really didn't know what to expect. Well, I knew I wanted a romantic and lovely time so I made sure to include all the amenities they could offer, which was the romantic package plus a few more additions. I got there first before my boyfriend for the weekend and found that the innkeeper was an amazingly wonderful woman who I knew talking to her over the phone was very caring. She welcomed me with such happiness, I knew at that moment our time at the home was going to be a high! Talk about historical, in a AMAZEMENT so many antiques, so many things over 100 years old, like the lamps and the light bulbs! I couldn't believe I was in a home that still had light bulbs that were much, much older than myself. LOL, I also included the organic international breakfast each morning we stayed at the house. Man! Man ole man! This breakfast we had was so awesome! Everything was either home grown, or organically safe! Alla is an incredible cook and she puts on the WORKS when it comes to her breakfasts and her dinners for that everything made from scratch and healthy! Amazingly great food all the way around. I could not believe that the bread and breakfast would be as romantic as she set it up! She truly loves people and loves romance! She was so excited that we were there, we laughed and talked and her husband Rick is awesome too! The atmosphere was so enticing and so much LOVE in the air! The spa is great, the food was great, the innkeeper and her husband were great, the house was great! I loved seeing all the antiques and to hear about how old each item or piece of furniture was! Amazing, amazing, amazing!

Alla's B&B is the most perfect place for the much needed getaway. My husband and I spent our second visit at Alla's just 2 weekends ago and I'm already looking forward to going back a 3rd time. The home is inviting and intriguing and has so much history. Attention is paid to every detail of your stay starting the moment you get there. The room we stayed in was very clean and outstanding and a fest for your eyes to look at. The breakfast in the morning is nothing like you've ever had before and is soo delicious, I swear I was at a 5 star restaurant. I was happy from the time i got there till it was time for us to check out.

Our stay at Alla and Rick's was amazing. Alla greated us with a huge, warm hug. I felt like I was home. Her detailed knowledge of every piece of antique furniture and decor of the house was so interesting. She is beautiful on the inside as well as being gorgeous on the out. Spending time getting to know her and her family made us feel like one of them. It happened to be my honey's birthday and her and her husband's anniversary. She allowed us to share in their joyous day. The spa was superb. I would say my favorite part. Although, she did get up at 5am to make her yummy gourmet breakfast for us since I had to leave early. I have never been to a B&B that was so hospitable. We loved, loved every minute of it. Can't wait to go back. Austin, TX

When you arrive at Alla's b&b, you feel like you have come home. We walked in and were greeted with a warm hug, a chilled glass of wine, and a homemade appetizer hot out of the oven. Just like the old days where family sat around the kitchen table and talked for hours, we spent the afternoon chatting and getting to know each other. Alla puts her whole heart into her hospitality and it is a wonderful experience to be in her lovely home. We look forward to our next visit. I can't imagine staying anywhere else.

This is my second home. After spending three months living here, I truly miss it. Coming back this past weekend has been amazing. I'm so glad my friends could finally meet Alla after months of hearing about my Dallas home and the wonderful person who took care of me. I don't think I could have survived my long project in Dallas if I had not found this place. I'm always so happy here and I'll be staying with Alla every time I come to Dallas. I travel so much, and this is the best place I've found to stay, live, eat, sleep, and talk in the whole world!!! Love you!

My wife and I need a nice romantic get away and Alla's was perfect. The history behind all of the things house was amazing. We booked the spa and it did wonders for my back and help me sleep like a baby. The organic breakfast was massive and tasty. Potatoes will never taste the same again. And the most important thing to me was the service and I have never meet any one sweetier or more open then Alla and her husband Rick. The price is also very cheap for a bed and breakfast and worth every dollar.

Alla Is the most inviting and hospitable hostess. She Made my fiance and I feel as if we were Family and not just Guests. The Privacy was great, the Spa was wonderful, the Service was fabulous, and the Breakfast was Definately something to boast about!!.

Why does Alla deserve a top rating you may ask. The most important thing to me in a room is the bed and I have stayed in many uncomfortable beds. Not Alla's! The mattress was perfect. The sheets were clean, almost new looking, and pressed (yes, can you believe it), the pillows were fluffy, and I was plenty warm (I'm very cold-natured). What more could you ask for? Well, Alla goes the extra mile. We stayed two nights and Alla took it upon herself to clean and organize our room. We were very surprised. No other bed and breakfast place has ever done this for us. She does not take any shortcuts. Upon arrival we even received a tour of all the antiques in the house and she explained the history of the house. She made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. She took time to get to know us and customized our breakfast according to our tastes and wishes. There was plenty of food and drinks to choose from and all made from scratch - the jams, the crepes, the potatoes, all! You can't find service like this anywhere. Especially not for the low prices Alla charges. Go see yourself! You won't regret it! We have good memories!

Alla reminds me of days gone by when service was as genuine. It's obvious she enjoys making people feel at home and offers every comfort she can. My children and I were delighted with her antiques and her explanation of the history of home and its belongs. Her staying to visit with us, make us feel welcome was beyond my expectations - Thank you, Alla. I felt so relaxed, at home, cared about. I was very pleased with Alla's place. She is an charming and beautiful woman and her husband Rick is very cool. He has some great antiques that are all over both houses. I stayed at the other house which was not as pretty outside but the inside was a treasure trove of antiques and charm from days gone by. Duncanville is a great little small town as well. The whole experience was much better than a typical Courtyard hotel or something like that for a business traveler like me.

Alla is a wonderful hostess who truly cares about the comfort and wants of her guests. The furniture was all antiques and was excellently maintained. The rooms were very comfortable and clean. The breakfasts that she serves (both the organic and American ones) were wonderfully prepared. We really enjoyed the leisurely breakfasts and the great conversations with Rick and Alla. We are very appreciative that she could accommodate our vegetarian diets. If you are interested, the house has an excellent collection of old TVs, Radio, Gramophone, music boxes and even a refrigerator, all of which work!! We would love to go back there again!! Even before we arrived Alla spoke with us on the phone to ask ways she could make our stay more enjoyable--if we needed any special arrangements or had any personal preferences. Upon arrival we were greeted enthusiastically and helped in with our bags, immediately feeling like we were home to stay with long lost family. During our stay Alla and her husband were very accomodating and pleasant despite us accidentally not setting the alarm right and them getting called by the police late at night! Through it all, Alla was very loving and hospitable, never making us feel the least bit out of place or bothersome. She accomodated my special dietary request without hesitation for the organic breakfast which was OUTSTANDING, not to mention the family atmosphere throughout. I was sad to leave this cozy home after staying only two nights, but know that Alla and I will keep in contact and plan to return again soon.

This place was so amazing, we loved every little detail about Alla"s. The food was exceptional the hot tub was awesome and the service was great. Warm and friendly guest, plenty of provacy. The house has so much charm and character. I am definetly going back........ Audry S.
