J.M.Koch's Hotel Bed & Breakfast will welcome you with warm Texas hospitality. The building was built in 1906 and used as a railroad hotel. You will immediately feel the presence of so many people come and gone through the door when you enter the building. It has been beautifully renovated and decorated with antiques. Guests continually comment on the homey feeling of the building and our outstanding home-cooked full breakfasts!

    Awesome!

    June 26, 2011

I thought this place was absolutely awesome! We had family and friends all pile in and it far exceeded our expectations. It was actually pretty cool having the train come by (I believe it was originally intended as a hotel for rail passengers), and most of us slept right through it and those that woke up had no trouble getting right back to sleep. We enjoyed sitting out on the 2nd story patio until all hours visiting, and Candy and Hilo's breakfast and hospitality were GREAT! Very, very nice folks. Excellent value here.

    Very Interesting historical building

This B&B caught my attention because of it's unique look. We were taking a B&B trip through Texas and the Koch Hotel looked interesting. It wasn't fancy but it was comfortable, and Candy fixed a big breakfast, although we had to eat very early on a week day. The trains that go through all night long did take some getting used to...guess that is why it is called a railroad hotel. Still you can't go wrong for the price.

    The Best B & B in Texas!

    June 15, 2009

My husband and I had the most wonderful time with our friends while staying at the J M Koch's Hotel! The Breakfast was amazing and the atmosphere was incredible! I was able to learn a lot about the History of the Bed and Breakfast by reading some of the articles that were placed in the house. We enjoyed our stay! Thank you Candy and Hilo! We greatly appreciate your hospitality!

    Just exactly what we needed!

    May 28, 2009

My husband and I have wanted to stay here for sometime now...It belonged to his grandmother when he was a little boy...It was such fun to go upstairs and check out all of the rooms that had been off limits to him as a child, since it was a boarding house at the time...you can't ask for nicer people than Candy and Hilo...we felt like we were with family. We plan to go again as soon as we can.

    Bargain at Historic Inn!

    March 27, 2009

We stayed at this charming B&B on our way home to Houston after camping. The hosts were very accomodating considering they had a family emergency out of state. The amenities were wonderful, the town full of history, and dinner at the local saloon and restaurant was fabulous. We will stay here again!

    Great place!

    December 15, 2008

We stayed for 2 nights in this wonderful inn and were thoroughly impressed with the quality of the room, the service, and the fantastic breakfasts provided by the owners. The inn and the rooms are restored to a 1900s setting with all of the comforts of the current century (satellite television, central air and heat, etc). The hosts seemed to go beyond the extra mile to make sure breakfast was great. It was a fantastic stay. One caution, however, is that all of the rooms have clawfoot bath tubs with no showers. It wasn't an issue for us, but if getting into and out of a deep tub is an issue, be aware of that going in. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the Greater San Antonio area.

Review of Koch's Bed and Breakfat

    September 18, 2008

My husband and I were looking for a room near Sabinal when were fleeing Hurricane Ike in Sept., 2008. We were so fortunate to find the best place in Texas, in our opinion. The atmosphere was quiet, comfortable, accessible and very comfortable not to mention the beautiful antique decor and hospitality of this quaint little town and the owners, Candy and Hilo Delbosque. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and did not want to leave. I would recomend this to anyone and everyone if they want some relaxion and good food. Our hosts were very gracious and cordial. We can't wait to go back.
